    Two rooms booked for a total of 6 nights. Nice and clean busy hotel. They respond to our needs fairly quickly. We prefer to stay at Shangrila hotels in Asia.

    The reception area was severely understaffed, as many other reviewers have mentioned. Special thanks to the incredibly helpful gentleman Joe, who helped us get our luggages (in contrast, I waited 30mins for the luggages from other unhelpful staff who were rude) and helped us get a taxi to the airport (he literally saved us from being late and took initiative to help everyone in a chaotic reception area). The rooms are quite good for a 4-star hotel, with a very comfortable bed. Lovely green location next to the bus stop and will be very convenient once the new Orchard Gateway station opens. The breakfast buffet was very good. The biggest downside is the general rudeness and unhelpfulness of staff, which I imagine is due to a clear shortage of resourcing. Hopefully management can fix the problem, then the hotel can be a very competitive choice among the other 5-star hotels in the same area.

    Erm, over priced for what you get.
    Granted it was f1 weekend went so it was over priced.
    Went to pay for breakfast which was $59 per person.

    What annoyed me the most was the location, it is ok, but not as good as some other points. You need to wait ages for taxis as well.
    It’s approx 10 minutes walk to orchard road. Their roof top bar was shut as well.

    You’re paying for their pool, so if that’s not your thing I’d not go here.

    Sorry JEN, but paying £250 per night for a room without breakfast, and exploiting the F1 weekend.

    We had booked the premier suite for a family birthday celebration and we were not disappointed. The suite was really spacious and luxurious with tasteful furnishing. We loved spending time at the club lounge not only for the food but more so for the company. You have wonderful, energetic and friendly staff who are ever so helpful. Many thanks to Nadia (from the club lounge) who made our stay extra cheerful!

    The experience at Jen Hotel was been amazing and all the hotel staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. However, the female security guard who was on duty at the entrance of the hotel was quite rude and abrasive in her communication.

    Many buffet items were not replenished timely but especially disappointing was that only one of us were able to get our hands on the durian pengat during the entire lunch as it seems like it was not replenished at all.

    Had spent 14 days of SHN at Jen Tanglin. Though it was SHN and been away from family for more than a year, I didn’t get the feeling of alone. The two weeks stay was excellent.

    The room was a good size for one with decent facilities, clean, well maintained and comfortable.

    The hotel staffs were friendly and polite. Online orders were delivered to the room promptly. Hats off to the staffs on ensuring every request and necessity are met on time. The entire team did their very best even during this difficult time, so cannot ask for more.

    The food was nice. It is not easy to provide a good variety of menu for everyone during this challenging time. Kudos to the Chef and his/her team.

    Not to forget on the little motivational note came along with the breakfast. Little things count more than the big.

    Thank you, Hotel Jen team, keep it up! Without the support and care from you, my SHN journey will not be that smooth.

    We had a great stay. Staff were all very pleasant. The Club Lounge was an added bonus. We stayed on the 17th floor so my early morning coffee was the best at the lounge. My only comment was that some guests during the cocktail hours took food but never ate any of it, depriving others from it. Not sure what can be done with that…

    In our room, our shower kept flooding. I informed the front desk and the problem persisted although the pressure in the shower was turned down (a bit of a quick fix??), it still kept flooding but not as bad.

    Wedding day 17.12.22

    I had my significant event held here & it was flawless. The wedding was perfect and well-received by our loved ones. I’m truly thankful for Afiza Ahmad (Assistant Banquet Manager) and her team for our night. She was ensuring and checking in on us from the beginning and right to the end of our event. Food & Drinks was serve at almost immediately to our room after the event was over as we did not get to eat. My husband and I are grateful for this wonderful experience.

    A month before wedding we had our food tasting. We made some changes to the dishes and the Master Chef really listen and change accordingly to our taste and preferences. The quality was not compromised on the actual day. My guests was blown away and kept praising on the food. Oh! and the Rumpoles Bar outside the ballroom my guests had a great time mingling before heading in to the ballroom.

    The bridal suite is really cozy with all the necessary room amenities, I did not manage to get the name of the housekeeper on level 16. She was super friendly and helpful.

    Last but not least a huge thank you to my Events Sales Manager, Ms Xin Yi Tay. For her patience and advises given making the whole event so comfortable and flawless. It was definitely an blessed experience for us.

    No amount of words can express how thankful we are to describe the satisfaction & feelings from the starts, warm welcome meeting, suggestion & preparation.

    Sincerely once again thank you to Ms Tay Xin Yi, Ms Afiza Ahmad and team for making the experience memorable.

    I had a horrible experience when I went for a company Dinner and Dance. While eating my food, a waiter who was attempting to serve drinks spilled an entire glass of beer on me and my bag in front of everyone. Not just a small splash, a whole glass. He apologised but he didn’t offer anything to help clean up the mess.

    This is an issue of safety. If that glass of beer had been a hot beverage or soup, I could’ve been burnt. I wouldn’t recommend this location after my experience here.

    Horrible attitude from almost everyone working here. This hotel does not deserve the “Shangri-La” name. The chef’s are kind but there is absolutely no respect from anyone else here. Please do yourself a favour and book at another hotel. Disgusting service.

    Good hotel, but staff are obnoxiously rude and service is appalling for a Shangri la subsidiary. very very inflexible hotel on all fronts, especially housekeeping and the front desk.

    Suggestion: Pease avoid and save your money. The nearby Regis is better.

    The place we always look forward to when we arrive! Being part of the flight crew, we have been to many parts of the world and different hotels, but this is the best place so far!

    The pool is nice place to be, be it any time of the day! The staffs at the nearby restaurant often took well very care of us as well! The lounge is also great too! The girls are friendly and was professional, often acceding to our request with a smile!

    Don’t be fooled, the hotel is now being revamped to cater for Islamic guests, all the restaurants, which there are only two anyway are now Halal, so no bacon for breakfast, no pork ribs for dinner. They’ve also closed the only bar called Rumpoles. I expect next the swimming pool will have female only times allocated. They also have basic problems like maintenance issues, lumpy poor quality mattress, tiny, tiny bathrooms, poorly organised light switches, toiletries provided certainly come from the cheap stock in the hotel supplies catalogue, and location which some people rave about isn’t that great, if you seriously want to walk 2km in the Singapore heat to the Orchard Rd Malls good luck, likewise the Botanic gardens which themselves are brilliant and highly recommended, the nearby entrance is furthest from the main part of the gardens, so you’ll be up for an hours walk before you reach the Orchid Gardens section for example. Not recommended for the price, if it’s S$150 a night and you’re Muslim it’s probably OK. There are far better hotels to choose from.

    The staff by the Pertap was very helpful despite us requesting for B’day but did not get any preparation but he tried his best to make my other half feels very much appreciated n his feeling happy on his special day. So thank u so much Pertap for the excellent service and the never ending checking on us plus this place by far have a very helpful staff all were very much approachable and friendly. So far the best place I’ve been too. Except the booking people is so unfriendly n unhelpful.

    First time to JEN Hotel, was going to J65 for dinner. Walking through the lobby, a hotel staff shouted across the lobby, asking us why we use the entrance to come in, say we need to check in from the other one! Oh my goodness, how embarrassed and shock I was, did I hurt someone, steal something? I merely use the wrong entrance! Do you need to use this attitude? I told the man he could have used a better attitude, instead of apologizing for the way he make me feel, he said he’s using a very good attitude!!! I would have no issue with this attitude, if this is a police station or a construction site as Customer Service are not expected, but this is a Hotel! This is not the kind of customers service a Hotel should have.

    Hotel Jen Tanglin banquet events team has wonderful staffs and great hospitality. Held wedding reception at Jen in December, our venue deco was on point! further enhanced by all the Christmas deco at hotel lobby area. Received compliments from our guests on the great food and wine served!

    Very bad admin. Reception double charge wife debit card on day of check in on 16 Dec. Reception helped to screenshot and send an email to their payment HQ. Till day, 26 Dec, bank statement still show the double charge valid.

    Tried calling JEN main hotline but no one picked up.

    房间脏,有异味,还不退款?I didn’t agree to pay 80% of the payment, you guys don’t have any sense that you are a commercial fraud for the rooms you are not suitable for providing to customers and the disgusting public toilets.

    I will resort to the media, complain to the Singaporean health authorities and to the headquarters of the Shangri-La Group for further processing, and reserve the right to sue.

    I would like to inform you that I am very disappointed with your poor hardware and service level

    very long queue. self check in machine is not working. some people tried to use the machine but it didn’t work. it took almost 2 hours to get our room. we have to stand for a long time while I carry the baby and my baby is so fussy. this is our second time to staycation here. we book the same room as before but the room now is smaller, no sofa and cramped. maybe our room was downgraded. this is the last. we will never stay here again.

    Summary: Expensive =/= better service or experience

    1) late check in as the queue is crazy long. no wonder they have late check out at 3pm.. don’t be fooled. paid almost $400, so the service shouldn’t be this shabby and slow. checked in at 5pm. as I was queueing, I overheard some people who were waiting in the lobby, saying that they could only pre-check in because no clean rooms were available. it was that bad. oh, if you want a room asap, make a big scene and they will let you skip the long line and give you a room first. unfair huh haha. A Karen complained about the long line and commented “is there a tour group, why is the line so long”. then approached one of the receptionists, made a big hooha, and was given the priority while the rest of us who was earlier than her had to wait

    2) receptionist says dining credits are not applicable for in-room dining. but in the package I bought, it is applicable. it’s even written in the voucher. told her multiple times but was shut down by her and she looked annoyed. she wasn’t even interested to look at my traveloka voucher. also, she said our check out is at 12pm (let’s say we didn’t buy the 3pm late checkout package), she didn’t even bother to compensate us for the long waiting time. plus, it seems she doesn’t know anything about traveloka package until I pointed out our check out is at 3pm, THEN she bothers to check and realised it.

    3) my room is a twin deluxe/king. but receptionist kept saying I booked a twin deluxe room but will give me a king bed if have. yes we got the king bed in the end but she acted like we booked only a twin deluxe room and she gave us the king bed out of her own kindness. I said I booked a twin deluxe slash king but she EMPHASIZED I booked ONLY a twin deluxe and will give me a king bed IF it’s available.

    4) self checking in machine does not work. everyone there who tried, failed.

    5) the curtain/sofa in the room smells. sofa has stains. (Updating this at 4am in the morning: was awakened by rashes on all over my body. my partner is just fine though. maybe I’m allergic to something they used to clean the bedsheets)

    6) tv has cable channels only. even other hotels with cheaper rates have Netflix/YouTube/screen mirroring.

    7) pillows are comfy. fluffy and soft. bed is nice. had a good rest.

    8) although in-room dining is not applicable (lol) I still bought the food. the kway teow and fried rice is very nice. just sharing, food was given in a takeaway box due to covid restrictions

    9) shower gel/shampoo/soap smells really good

    10) was given a room at a high level

    11) breakfast consists of nasi lemak, pancake, hotdog, hasbrown, prata, mushroom puffs, kaya pau, plain bread, croissant, cupcake, porridge, kway teow + green chilli, salad, fruits, cereal, yoghurt, smoked salmon (lol a lady took almost all in her one plate leaving almost nothing for others. they should have someone manning it and control the portion taken. otherwise we have someone greedy like her although they topped up, another greedy person comes and took almost everything again) breakfast is great, the restaurant has a nice ambience

    Kudos to the Hotel Jen Tanglin team. I echo some of the comments in previous reviews as this has been a home away from home during my quarantine stay. The room is actually big enough for me to do my skipping, burpees, push-ups and sit-ups, and that despite the comfy King Size bed in the room.
    Service has been impeccable, and the Service Centre staff has been very helpful with important documents that I needed to pass on or to sign and quickly respond to my numerous requests for extra coffee and I truly appreciate the help.
    The personal notes which came at breakfast was something I looked forward to and I thought in was very significant that staff from all areas got involved, whether it was the Front Desk or the Security Staff.
    Food was warm (which is more than other quarantine experiences) and with the occasional surprise of satay and lobster kept my foodie side contented .
    The staff have truly adapted what service is during the unique circumstances of the pandemic and I am the grateful recipient of their efforts. Keep the exceptional commitment to excellence going!

    Price point is a little high to make it a regular visit. So it’s a once-in-a-while indulgence for us =) Would be even better if the warm food can be kept warmer and if there were more drinks to select from.

    The service was great! The chefs and servers were all very friendly. Even though we couldn’t take the buffet food for ourselves due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the servers and chef made sure to ask if it was enough and even gave reccommendations. Plates were cleared promptly too.

    The hotel was good
    The room was average
    But we had a bad experience at the breakfast buffet

    First slow service!
    We had to wait for 20 min just to bring ( baby chair and plates for baby) in every time!!!
    Second!
    My baby was sneezing and he need a tissue our table was no tissue on it
    Ao I take a tissue from the nearest empty table
    And the waiters manager said please, don’t do that again ! It’s for another people that sit in the table
    And I watched the table for more than 20 minutes and I didn’t see someone sit there!!!
    I really didn’t like when he told me that
    Because they have slow service so if I wait them to bring a tissue they will take 20 min and the baby was need it ))
    I hope they have better customer service

    Although its not smacked in the middle of Singapore’s touristy area, Jen is within walking distance of Orchard rd. The breakfast restaurant is halal certified, a very welcoming add on for moslem travelers. The food is ecellent and have a wide variety. It is children friendly and is connected to Tanglin mall at level 2. There is a currency exchange machine at the back of the first level should you need it.
    There is an MRT station under construction just opposite and a Singapore Tiourism office nearby.

    Beautiful hotel with amazing service. Nicely decorated rooms with views of the city. The gym is appropriately sized and regularly sanitized. Breakfast is always hot and fresh. The concierge is very helpful with taxis and information. There is a currency converter in the hotel as well. Lastly the hotel is next to a shopping mall for all your needs to include groceries.

    The last night of staying, the room next to me their kids made very noisy sound, run, play and so on. the manager had done very great job by offering me another room to sleep. His action was fast and very helpful. By the way, the breakfast was great, good quality and varieties as well. I’d recommended Jen.

    We have stayed here numerous times over the past 15-20 years and have always enjoyed our stay. We love relaxing at the the pool, however this visit has been marred by the annoying music blasting out of Ah Choi’s restaurant. Something a bit quieter and relaxing would be appreciated.

    Overall the room was nice and cozy. However, check-in/out service was really terrible. No point having self check-in kioks if the system does not work and resulted in a long waiting time. To make things worse, there were only 2 person at the front desk handling very long queue of guests.

    Average food. Seafood was not fresh, the crab was chewy and still frozen in parts. Use fresh crab (or don’t bother). No beverage service beyond water. No soft drink or juices were offered. Staff overall were friendly and efficient, but the food was generally disappointing.

    Hotel room is comfortable n clean. Friendly service. Breakfast is just good but not too luxurious. Only 2 things need improvement. Check in is very slow and at times waiting more than 20 minutes. Next. Hotel does not provide Razor. Make sure u buy outside or bring your own. This is the only premium Hotel I ever stay and have to buy Razor outside.

    Feedback on dining at J65. I am so satisfied with the service at this restaurant. A special mention to Pretap for going above and beyond. I made a last minute arrangement for a cake for our anniversary and he made sure he delivered it to our table. His sincerity in his service is clearly seen by the way he manages the customers.     Our first staycation at the club room. It’s pretty small compared to MBS club room. And the view was facing the pool but nothing fantastic if u have stayed at MBS but overall stay was good as services from service staffs was good. And we get to access the club lounge whole day too. Special thanks to supervisor Joshua for his kind and great services provided to us when we were there. He mentioned there’s a shortage of staffs so he is managing gym, pool and lounge. Hope hotel could invest and provide more service staffs to all these facilities.

    Room was so pretty with unique design, very lively and smart. Everything you need is there.

    From Check-in staff was so friendly and welcoming. Offered few options for room upgrade and was a great choice to have Club Lounge. Staff at Club Lounge very engaging despite the busy operation. Everyone seems very attentive and taking care all guest.

    Concierge staff as well very helpful with transport and recommendations in the city.

    Pool is big and a great place to relax during the day.

    Upon check-out, staff was so efficient. I had few confusion but was immediately resolve. Hands down to the staff who assisted me.

    Overall stay was excellent and definitely will come back again for another staycation.

    Lovely hotel and very attentive staff. MRT station is being finished right next door and when this happens will make it very accessible to get to the rest of Singapore in no time. Short walk to Orchard Road and all it has to offer currently.

    Expected more from breakfast for an establishment such as this as the variety was quite limited compared to other similar hotels I have stayed in. Kept very clean in all public areas and room cleaned daily. Would definitely recommend for a comfortable stay in Singapore!

    Reviewing for the J65 seafood buffet and not the rooms. They offer a pretty nice selection of foods. Of the many dishes available, the more notable ones are the roasted meat, lobster thermidor, laksa and durian. The prawns were sweet too and everyone loves to indulge in the salmon. They do have man tou tucked into a corner, eat them while they’re hot.
    -2 stars because we went there expecting oysters and were told that there weren’t any. However, when another table requested, they somehow got more than 1 plate of oysters. Kinda sucks when you are on the losing end of preferential treatment.

    Great hotel. The room looks newly renovated to me. Very clean, comfy, bright, a bit slow on checking-in, check-out is fast. Everything is fine. Level 4 for swimming pool, family style. Very cute renovation. Smell of durian at the lobby I guess maybe the mall or the restaurant served or selling durian or durian dessert or buffet????? I like it hahaha! Durian lover… or it’s my nose too sensitive… Hotel Level 2 access to Tanglin mall, a small neighbourhood mall… Have to walk around 15 mins to orchard road (ION) but I think guests can use the hotel bike for free. I take taxi though, fee below $6. Around $30 to airport. Very near to Hard Rock Cafe… overall highly recommended.

    We stayed here while on 11-day quarantine order. Hotel room was compact but comfortable. Would be lovely if there was an extra small table for me to eat my meals as I gave up the high table to my kid for his laptop & meals. Service centre staff have been helpful. Food wise, dinners are generally better than breakfast. Will love to go to that swimming pool that we have always been staring at but didn’t have a chance to go.

    On our 1st day, we arrived earlier at 1pm. They allowed us to check in to the room without any additional charges. We felt overwhelmed since we really need to have a quick break after our journey from Malaysia. Fast response to any request. We even extended our stay 1 more night at JEN since the location is just perfect with only 200m to MRT Orchard Boulevard.

    Loved staying at this Hotel. Room was clean, well appointed and serviced. Staff were excellent and very helpful. Fantastic location and all facilities great. The only negative was mould evident in the shower recess grout. I also suggest you consider providing a couple of glass tumblers for use in the rooms.

    For the amount charged (98++), it being a seafood buffet, the variety and quality was bad. I could have gone to another buffet which is cheaper with better quality and variety.

    I stayed here on the 25th of May until the 26th. The staff were friendly, although there weren’t many for the counter. Unfortunately my room no. 701 stank like stale cigarette smoke. The bed linen and towels also smelt like it. The smell was so bad all my clothes for the next day also smell. I advised the lady at the front counter on checkout of this, I would have on arrival but we arrived late at night after work, she didn’t offer a discount or anything except an apology. This is disappointing as their cleaning staff would clearly be able to smell this smoke when cleaning.

    Have to say this hotel has the best restaurant service out of all the hotels I have ever stayed in. Zain – the restaurant staff has nothing, but maid me and my mom feel so welcoming and so attentive to us and specifically to my 2 year old son. He is so kind, helpful and a true outstanding professional. Thank you for making our experience in Singapore so delightful Zain. We came to Singapore late at night, so our first real encounter of people here in Singapore as a tourist was him, so he set a welcoming and friendly experience during the breakfast at the hotel.

    Currently booked in for 3 nights at Jen Tanglin – our flight was delayed and we checked in late to Jen. We were really keen on a good nights of sleep after a long flight but were not informed that we were going to be given a room meant for disabled people with an extra firm bed. It is now 4.30am and I cannot sleep due to how firm this mattress is. Absolutely terrible experience to start our holiday – this hotel will screw you over a room when they are at close to full capacity instead of being upfront on what you will be getting.

    Wonderful stay. The staff were extremely helpful & polite. Club room facilities were very good. This is the first time my wife & I have stayed since the re branding from Traders Hotel. As a regular visitor to Singapore I quite honestly would not choose another hotel.
    There is a couple of thingsI think could be improved & one is the pool area. This certainly needs a make over. The pool itself is very good but we experienced a difficulty on a number of occasions in getting a bed & the attendants were not interested or helpful, plus the toilets could do with some attention & TLC. Also what has happened to the front of house staff? No concierge on many occasions & difficulties getting a taxi. No one to provide information but the front desk staff always helped wherever they could.
    Apart from the it’s lovely hotel & club room facilities were great. Thanks to all the staff.

    My daughter and myself had to serve a QO for 7 days at Hotel Jen at Tanglin. Although initially dreading having to serve the QO in a hotel, I find myself anticipating excitedly at the prospect of getting my meals from the hotel kitchen each day. I was particularly impressed by the wide array of tasty food that the hotel kitchen conjures up each and every day for 7 days. Each meal was lovingly accommpanied by either a fruit and yoghurt or juice and topped up with a note of encouragment. The meals and the receipt of these meal boxes were both fulfiling and satisfying. The QO was intolerable but the food certainly make up for the short comings of a QO. Service was exceptional and front desk operator(s) were always so eager to please. This is certaintly a well deserved 5 stars for Hotel Jen at Tanglin.

    Very honoured to met Xinyi, the event sales manager who helped us to coordinate everything to ensure that we have a smooth journey. Thank you for being so kind and patience and answering all our needs and kept on reassuring me that everything is going on plan and that I don have to worry on the actual day. Our wedding went on very smoothly with her coordination. And we are really pleased and happy to have her to be part of the journey.
    Strongly recommend this hotel for those wants to hold their banquet.

    We had our wedding at Hotel Jen@Tanglin. Xinyi was our wedding coordinator, she was very prompt and helpful with our requests, always going the extra miles for us. The renovated ballroom was clean and looks new. Although there were slight mishaps with the AV system, our banquet manager Anand managed to resolve the issues quickly. We had a pleasant stay at the hotel too with friendly stuff all around. Overall, very pleasant experience and Xinyi played a big part in it. Thank you!

    Long check-in time, averagely 10 mins per guest. Upon entering my room, to my surprise it was occupied. The occupant was quick to close the door as I tried to push it open. Returned to the front desk to clarify. Initially told me it could be housekeeping which wasn’t. Insisted they call the room to confirm but they spoked rather rudely to the occupant. Finally was given a new room. Similar issue happened to my colleague the same night.

    Next day, had issues with my room keycards. Went down to lobby to get assistance. There was a queue and since card revalidation is very quick, went to the empty counter to wait while the staff was attending a check-in. Waited patiently & once he was done, walked towards him. Before I could say anything, was instructed rather rudely to “please queue!” Asked courteously if I could get help to validate my cards which takes only a few second, he insisted rather imperiously for me to queue. I asked nicely if anyone else could assist me, he said no, its only him. So I had to turn to the guests queuing, to ask them if it was ok for me to validate my cards which they agreed. He made me feel like I committed a huge offence. Should be common sense to assist a guest who was locked out of the room as it takes only a few second rather than instructing to queue for another 30 minutes. I was patient and courteous throughout but was unfairly treated. While I know that the hotel staff were probably stretched, I am disappointed with such lackadaisical customer manners & sub-standard service of a 4 star hotel under Shangri-La.

    We really enjoyed the ambience and comfort of this hotel. The rooms are quirky in design/decor but very comfortable and quiet with nice beds and sheets + super-friendly staff. I would have been happy to give a score of 5, save for two slight issues. The first is a weird thing about the internet which disconnects your device with regularity (rather annoying when you are in the middle of something). The other is that the hotel should improve the time it takes to get hot water to the shower as it takes 2 to 3 minutes before hot water shows up which is rather wasteful. On the whole, we really enjoyed the hotel and the late night robot-room service is a scream.

    The location is excellent as it’s right next to a new MRT station (Orchard Boulevard) and thus very convenient to get around. But the room 420 was not the best as the shower water pressure was low, the windows were dirty and there was no view. The breakfast spread was very good and the service was courteous and professional.

    The first impression to this hotel ruined already by seeing the ridiculous queues to the human check in counter and auto check in kiosks. Even though it is peak travel week, queuing like this and let customers stand wait for more than 3 hours just for checking is not right. You have to find a solution to minimize the time required for both human and kiosks check in.

    The kiosks are not working properly on the day, and it keeps showing “can’t find booking number “. You guys should just prevent ppl lining up in front of the kiosks.

    We stay at the hotel for 3 nights, After check in on the first day, we went out straight away to have lunch, they said the room are still full but they will send our belongings to our room after they find rooms for us. Gave tips to the bell guy at the lobby, he took it. We came back on the evening to the hotel, our belongings are still there hanging and chilling having a great time at the same spot at the lobby, nobody sent them up to the room, and we need to do the check in at the concierge again, second day, suddenly the room card was not working because we made double booking, understandable, the nice guy Aloysius at the concierge help us to settle. All settled, but after we came back to our room (we staying at the same room still), the power outlet in the room are not working at all, we inform the hotel staff about this then went out to lunch, we spent the whole day outside the hotel. We came back very late, almost midnight. We expect everything to be done by the time we are back. But when we tried to charge out phone, boil water, etc, not working STILL. WORSE PART IS THE ROOM PHONE ALSO NOT WORKING, so i need to call my friend who are staying at the other room to call them about this problem, waited for 30 mins, the 1st call, nobody came. I made the 2nd call through my cell phone, they said they already ask the technician to come up, they will call them again, after 30 mins (total 1 hour), NOBODY CAME UP TO SOLVE THE ISSUE, I WAS SO UPSET, I CAME DOWN TO THE LOBBY IN MY PJAMAS, JUST TO TELL THEM ALL OVER AGAIN. 3 mins after, TECH GUY CAME, THEY TOLD ME THEY JUST GOT A MESSAGE FROM THE HOTEL ABOUT THIS (UNBELIEVABLE!!) All settled in 10 mins. I WAS WRITING THIS COMPLAINT STRAIGHT AWAY AFTER THE TECH GUY LEFT MY ROOM, IT’S NOW ALMOST 2AM IN THE MORNING, VERY CONSIDERATE. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER, I WONT COME BACK. BAD SERVICE, BAD COMMUNICATION, STAFF ARE NOT SO FRIENDLY. WONT COME BACK, VERY DISAPPOINTED.

    Me and my crew has visited Hotel Jen many times and it was always the same wonderful experience we had and shared. The staffs here are all professional, well dressed and often smiling.

    The crew and I love to visit the club lounge as soon as we settle down every time, always looking forward to it. It has a lively feeling and the staff there makes us feel welcomed. Kudos to the free flow of wine and beer during cocktail hours, along with the wonderful spread of food!

    Its a shame we wish we could stay longer every visit, would have loved to see what other Singapore has to offer.

    Excellent hotel in an ideal location, a very quick walk to the heart of Orchard Road, but far away enough to have some quiet!

    The whole process from check-in to check-out was perfect. The staff were friendly and efficient with check-in. When they found out I was there for a wedding anniversary with my wife, they sent a card and cake. While definitely not expected, its little touches like this which leave a lasting impression.

    I booked a deluxe room and it did not disappoint, clean comfortable room and the views from our room was quite photogenic.

    Did not try any of the restaurants, however, will not hesitate to book this again for future visits to Singapore.

    Great hotel. Rooms are a bit small but everything else made up for it. Welcoming smiles and assistance at check-in, outstanding breakfast with anything you could ever want, and when we checked out at noon the hotel stored our luggage until 9 pm and then we were able to shower in the locker rooms at the pool; great way to get ready for overnight travel and a very pleasant surprise.

    Went over for company dinner, cozy place and nice for family to relax over, not forgetting the good experience of staying at the hotel with your family. For a short getaway or for business purposes. The area around there is abit tricky to get through due to the small lane and some construction nearby. But overall is good and fine!

    Have updated my review as a good measure of a company is its ability to correct its issues. The chef , ( Chef James) has provided a good menu and coped with the challenges faced in a covid lock down, he has dealt with personally and provided great feedback to accommodate all dietary requirements and I believe is the ONE person in the hotel who has gone above and beyond.

    The rooms are a good size with decent facility’s however the rooms are in desperate need of a proper clean, housekeeping has let the team down. Both rooms I’ve been in are dusty and dirty, food remnants from the previous occupants and human hair and other deposits, the basics such as wiping cup marks from surfaces and cleaning air-conditioning outlet filters are all lacking.

    The first room I was assigned had a serious electric fault which I felt was unsafe and took reception half a day to manage to move me to a safe room, not ideal when you’ve just stepped off a long haul flight combined with the fact the room clearly had not been cleaned, there was writing on the dirt. There is no excuse for this!!

    I asked reception and the manager to rectify these issues or at least attend to some of the problems as I believe everyone has a chance, the first day of arrival took over half a day for someone to address the dangerously buzzing and sparking lamp and unclean room, prior to them assigning a new room which was still dirty.

    It’s such a shame, the rooms require a good clean and all facilities checked for working and safety. The rooms are a adequate size as well as facilities, just let down by the upkeep of the place. It has the potential to achieve a much higher rating just deep clean the rooms.

    Fist of all.. i book at this hotel for 1wk & 4nights. The worse part of this hotel that i have issues is.. 1stly there is no dustbin at all at the lobby. 2ndly there is no DSA for guests who is smoker. 3rdly the security is rude towards guests..But fair enough the counter staff apologise for incident i went through. Lastly most of the staff is not welcoming enough. Very disappointing. This will be my last staycation at this hotel.

    I will be coming back to the hotel due to the staff they had. Everyone seems to be very friendly and welcoming. Staff at front desk always left a conversation in a day every time i drop by. I met with 5 different staff at the front desk all of them are very friendly, Evelyn who checked me in , Joy and Ros who i met them in the evening time and Rizal the night manager and his staff Andrea who assisted me with food order. I love everything about this hotel. Housekeeping staff were very accommodate with my request as well. Not to miss out the restaurant staff who look after me and my family. All in all Excellent team.

    This is my 4th stay at Jen Tanglin and every time it didn’t disappoint. Each time I stayed for 2-4-day meeting at the hotel and banquet staff has always been friendly and super helpful with everything.
    My last 2 stays I also enjoyed the accesst to the Club lounge. Plenty of light meals, snacks and drinks (including wines). Staff has always been cheerful and quickly made you feel welcome.
    The restaurant staff seemed to be too busy to be friendly, but they are quick at what they do.
    The front office staff across the board lacks of warmth or friendliness. Professional, yet not so friendly. When I requested late check out, without letting me explain my situation, the lady just curtly say NO in a very cold manner.
    The gym is large and has complete set of equipment. Polite staff, but I never saw them wander in and check with guests or check equipment.
    I love the breakfast menu. Plenty of choice for all kinds of dietary preference, including Japanese and Indian.

    Hotel and Room is fine. Attached to MRT station, but you have to walk for 10 min. underground to go reach the train.
    Breakfast is unfortunately super crowded and messy. Waiters clean your table everytime you leave it. When travelling solo it is very annoying waiting in line for the coffee for 10 min. and finding your table given to another person in the meantime.
    Attached Tanglin Mall is a good alternative to go for Starbucks Coffee or dining.

    The rooms are not as big as expected but breakfast is good. Special thanks to Manager Ms Sandy for helping the children with the food serving. She’s patient and nice. Probably the hotel can also review on the long waiting time for room service requests.

    Lovely hotel. Very friendly, helpful & courteous staff. We stayed here 22yrs ago when it was Traders Hotel. Same charm & warmth. Conveniently placed for shopping, sights etc. 30 – 40 mins by taxi from Changi airport. Would certainly stay again if / when returning to Singapore.

    I’ve forgotten to write a review in particular at one of the receptionist staff, she could be a manager I didn’t catch her position – Joy is her name. I want to write this review in regards to back in April I was at the hotel and I left my phone in a friend’s room. Long story short I didn’t remember which floor and which room number it was and after computer checks they still can’t locate my friend in their system. However the staff and together with Joy put their means to help me locate and finally my friend realized my phone is in the room and brought it down! Thank you team

    My reservation included a double bed and instead I had two small beds which I think were for children. I was surprised to see that the room was barely made, when I went to the reception he didn’t want to hear anything and didn’t want to refund me or change my room saying the hotel was full… The manager was very aggressive with me and offered me no solution. Conclusion: for the price go elsewhere!!!!!!!!

    Room is on the small side but the furnishing is really bright and the service staff are excellent! The doorman would greet me every time and the club lounge staff, though busy with service, were always pleasant! All the staff were friendly and helpful and I can tell they are passionate about customer service at Hotel Jen. I witnessed a manager getting unnecessarily berated by a very condescending guest (even I felt enraged on her behalf) but she kept her cool and was incredibly pleasant and patient with him. Would stay here again for sure, solely for the top-notch service.

    Zero customer services from the entire team from the floor. The best services was rendered by an old Malay table cleaning cleaners that does her work steadily.

    The staff at the cashier did not even know Shangri-La Circle Jade tier member gets 20% off the buffet …

    The entire team is messy. Not to mention a lot of food wastage incurred.

    Horrendous food preparation planning …. And totally insufficient supply of drinks, and dessert.

    This is not Shangri-La that we are aware of.

    I came here for their buffet and it was amazing. The spread was wonderful and my family members simply love it. They have fresh seafood like crayfishr, crabs, etc. Price is reasonable as well. Highly recommended their dinner buffet there.

    One of my favourite hotels in Singapore. Location is great as it has a metro station just outside. It is at the starting end of Orchard Rd and a short walk to the shopping district of Singapore. Service and room pleasant except this time at checkout at 10am, there was only 1 staff in attendance. One would have thought that at peak checkout, there would be more staff at counter.

    A very nice, quiet and modern hotel. The gym and the pool also round off the impression. Direct access to the adjoining mall is also convenient. The breakfast buffet was served in the restaurant of the reception area. Everything was very restless and hectic here. But all in all, I would come to this house if necessary.

    Food was not made fresh. Especially the sushi. Sushi rice was harden, suggesting the sushi roll might have been kept in fridge for a period of time.

    Pandan cake at dessert section was disgusting. The cake literally ozzing out water when squeeze slightly. This also meant that the cake had been kept for some time in the fridge.

    I don’t see a reason for a second try.

    Went to the J65 wed lobster buffet. Really excellent service with super attentive staff. The wait staff will assist with your dining needs such as more napkins, clearing up the plates when done etc. The kitchen staff will check the food quantity and top up quickly to ensure that there is always enough for diners. The variety of lobsters available was good, with around 10+++ lobster dishes available. One thing I noticed was that the lobster meat tends to be a little overcooked, so can be a bit tough. And if you are a claw eater, do rem to ask the staff for a claw cracker. The different seasonings, such as chili crab sauce, black pepper etc are really nice. The dessert station also has quite a spread and the durian pengat was nice and smooth. What would be a nice addition is a fruit station where we can end off the meal with fruits, such as oranges, dragonfruit etc. Overall, will return again.

    Overall a pleasant experience. Some dishes were really good like the beef with ranch sauce, beef satay, prata, prawns in some gravy and oxtail soup. A pity that there was no naan to accompany the butter chicken as it is a very complementary pair. My seat had a very bright light glaring at me the whole time though so maybe the positioning could be adjusted. As for queues, it would be good if there was a way to know the direction of the queue. However most of the guests were gracious to inform staff who came first so there no arguments there. The sushi assortment could be improved, or at least topped up frequently as there was barely anything to choose from when I was there. Still, I did have a good experience and would come again.

    Ah Hoi’s kitchen staffs are attentive and friendly. I ordered the lobster set dinner and didn’t realize it comes with soup. I ordered additional but lucky one of the staff informed me in time.
    The food was nicely prepared and taste nice.

    Good stay. The staff was excellent and helpful. The rooms were OK. I upgraded to the club floor but my room had a leak from the bathroom ceiling. Although it was promptly fixed, it took time out of my day. The food was average-the offerings during the nightly buffet was not rotated often enough to maintain freshness or avoid being over-heated. The pool was excellent!

    Excellent value for the location.
    You’re close to Orchard Road without being on it. There is a small mall next door if you need anything for an emergency.
    A well-kept clean hotel room with great amenities. The gym is decent as was the pool. Unfortunately i didn’t get to do the breakfast buffet – maybe next time. I had no issues with my stay. Ultimately, I do trust the Jen Hotel brand which is why I chose this hotel, and would come back here. Recommended.

    The location of the Hotel is very good quite and peace. Connected to tanglin Mall. 5 mins walk to the orchad road and just next to the MRT station.
    The room is clean n modern.
    Is not really spacious but is just fine.
    Good facilities of the Hotel with nice gym, poolside and easy access.
    The concierge team are very helpfull with infomation and assistant.
    Muslim friendly Hotel. Good spread of Halal local and continental breakfast.
    The food are so tasty and and variety.
    Staffs are so friendly and Amazing,
    especially Chef Kim Perry and the team very helpfull and make me and my family feel warm and welcome. Always smilling and cheer up.
    Thumbs up for the good breakfast and special ommelette for my kids.

    Good experience with accommodating staff. Room is properly cleaned and maintained by cleaning maid. It was a stay with my girlfriend and as long as she is happy I am happy. We were offered a Club room upon check in which we grabbed as it comes with Club Lounge access. We truly enjoyed the evening cocktail.

    We will never know that we can have this added service if we are not informed and if it is not offered on check in so thank you for that. A wise decision we made for this stay.

    Hotel room was clean, even though it was on the small side. The staff there were very friendly and informative, specifically Evelyn and Nadia, where they greeted me, my wife and my baby girl warmly. However, the waiting time for the check-in took about 1 hour, which was maybe due to it being a Friday, start of the weekends. Aside from that, we managed to top off our stay with an excellent breakfast meal at J65 restaurant with their variety of food and excellent service. The manager Reza there was really welcoming and offered us the best of service. Overall, our stay was satisfying and recommended!

    Generally very friendly staffs and room was clean and tidy. Check-in and out seems a little busy, perhaps is good to have more staff during peak hours.
    Staffs at the lounge were great and helpful, very attentive and friendly.
    Restaurant’s (level one) staffs probably better to have some smiles which helps to build a better atmosphere.

    Check in at lobby and the lights were very nice! It was quite a lively atmosphere!

    Had to wait for room and went to club lounge while waiting. It was very calming and quiet ambiance, but it was really cozy. The Chinese staff was also very polite and offered me a cup of tea while waiting.

    Also enjoyed the other facilities in the hotel like the pool and the buffet at the lobby. Will come back again!

    The environment here is really great! Lots of beautiful lighting and quirky designs, me and my crew has came here a few times but I felt a review should be made.

    Often after our check in we love to visit the pool and the club lounge for our drinks.. the city view is just simply amazing.. and the liveliness of the lounge is just a great place to wind down and relax !

    It is a decent dining experience here. You can bring friends and family or even anniversary dinner with your partner. It could not beat some buffets in Singapore but it was still satisfying. We still enjoyed ourselves! We came in a group and all rated above 5/10. One thing that surpass the food quality is the service there. All staffs were superb! Very attentive to clearing our tables or offering expensive meal to the table. They did not have to do that cause we can literally walk up to the buffet area but they took the extra effort to ask our experience and serve some foods to our table. It saves us time to walk up and more time to eat he he he. Oh and also, the ambience is nice! Feels very atas and a lot of aesthetic corners to take pictures.

    Fantastic stay – even more so given the price! The room although small was comfortable and breakfast was great (it changed every day).

    With the new MRT the location was perfect! It’s also not too far of a walk to the botanical gardens and orchard road.

    Very nice gym – the biggest i’ve seen in a hotel in this price range.

    Was a bit annoying being placed right in front of the elevator when it didn’t seem to be too busy/booked out on our floor, but it didn’t cause much issue at all.

    Definitely recommend!

    Facility is new and clean. Staff is very friendly and kind. Shopping mall next to the hotel is useful but everything is expensive and higher quality. The hotel is located in the residence area so I couldn’t find cheaper restaurants within a walking distance. The nearest food centre is about 10 minutes. It takes about 10 minutes to the Orchard’s ION.

    Had a staycation here in late October 2022 and the experience was great. The room is compact but tastefully designed with all necessary amenities, including Malin+Goetz toiletries. Pool is sizable too and very atmospheric in the early evening.

    The location is a little far from the heart of Orchard road, it’s around 1km to the Scotts Road junction, but that would soon change with the opening of the adjacent Orchard Boulevard Station in Nov 2022. (Anyway, there’s a huge Cold Storage supermarket right next door, and two pharmacies, and many cafes) As for customer service, I have only praise. My only regret is that I didn’t dine at the buffet restaurant, it looks good. Maybe I’ll do so during my next stay.

    I stayed here for 26 days, I still have 4 more days to go. Here is my experience.

    Bad cleaning → I told them the room wasn’t clean there was lots of dust. They said they’d handle it. After cleaning I saw nuts on the ground that I had eaten 20 days ago. Seriously ‍️

    Food → I asked for brownie multiple times each time I got something different

    – Brownie with ice-cream
    – Brownie with no ice-cream with extra cake to make up for ice-cream
    – Brownie with no ice-cream

    I even called them and told them what I wanted, they told me they took note but still they are inconsistent. Thats not all. I ordered the same food multiple times, they were never the same amount.

    I asked for the summary of my room spending, I didn’t get it. I will ask again.

    The first day, they told me my room would be cleaned weekly. Asked me my preferred day and time. But I get someone knocking on the door every day and if I select “Don’t disturb” they call me everyday. They have failed to leave me alone as well as deliver me a predictable cleaning schedule.

    Also the security uncle scolded me. I left my phone in my room, went down to get my friend, literally went out from one door and came in with my friend from the other one and he scolded me for not checking in. Come on… ‍️

    I ordered food to the lobby cafe, they brought it up to my room, later when I asked wheres my food they brought it back down cold.

    Last but not least, elevator buttons are not consistent. I mean come on.. You guys even got that installed in an inconsistent way. Sometimes “1” is on the right, sometimes left. Video provided.

    Overall if you’re staying here you’ll get inconsistent & unpredictable treatment.

    – gym staff are nice
    – security staff not
    – room service meh
    – pool staff ok
    – waiters between nice & not depends on person

    We had a pleasant stay at the hotel although the pillows were way to soft for my liking. You might want to request for a firmer one if you don’t want to have a sore neck the next day. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. It is also in a fairly convenient location with access to Tanglin mall. It has some interesting eateries, cafes (like PAUL) and a grocer beneath. The cafe has very interesting dinner arrangements with a wide array of offering.

    The location and everything else is Ok. But we were not happy with the Intnl Buffet BF, as the selection of food was lousy. They only had one type of cheese, no bacon, only halal food. Perhaps the management could reconsider having non halal food as well, place them separately from the rest. Singapore is not a muslim country and should not be driven by the demands from a certain religion. We should respect each other, regardless.

    I was there for the Ramadan Buffet at J65 and it was a pleasant experience. I’m normally not a fan of buffet for Iftar but this was a good experience. I felt that there was a decent range/variety of food that would appeal to everyone, and the offerings were good too. The hot tea was a hit – perfection. Service was also good – the staff was quick to attend to our requests, and were friendly as well. One suggestion would be to leave dates for breaking fast on the tables of those who were there to break fast (we did have to look around for the dates on our own). The gong used to announce the time to break fast was a nice touch. Would recommend anyone (fasting or otherwise) to visit and enjoy the wide array of food.

    This is a great location for decent price. There’s a train station just across the street (Orchard Boulevard), several bus stops within a few minutes walking distance, and a mall and supermarket around the corner (Tanglin mall).
    If you’re into nature, the botanic garden is also within walking distance. If you’re into shopping or night life, orchard road is also within walking distance. There’s a seven eleven around the corner that’s open 24 hours, and even cafes and a McDonald’s that are open round the clock.
    There’s a currency exchange machine downstairs. Their rates aren’t great, but in a pinch it’s handy.
    They also have a complementary gym that’s open 24/7, and that also have a complimentary sauna and jacuzzi.
    All in all, it’s nice, convenient, and a decent place to stay in.

    It was a great experience staying in Jen Hotel for 2days1night. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The room is clean and huge. The pool is nice, which is a very nice place to chill and have a drink over there. It is also convenient to walk to orchard road for more shopping to do with . Will surely be back again next time.

    It took fifteen minutes for the receptionist, Aloysius to check my wife and me in yesterday at about 3 pm (16/11/22) for a staycation. We were given Room 1418, at the end of the corridor, almost 50 meters from the elevator, without any consideration that we were both 70 years old. In the evening, while having the buffet, I had to move my used plates twice to the tray station. Given that it was a Monday night with very few diners, that seems inexcusable. The service did pick up and was more attentive after I asked one of the waitresses if diners were supposed to bring their plates to the tray station. At checkout time, I realized breakfast was included and that shockingly that was not told to us by Aloysius. All we heard from the front desk was sorry. This hotel seriously needs to train its people well. The room was clean, and the buffet was good, but the experience was terribly marred by the people manning the stations. Hopefully, the managers learned from these hiccups and must take up the responsibility of training their people.

    A good hotel. Does not stretch to 5 stars in my opinion as the actual Shangri-La hotels. But for the Asian standards, it is pretty good. We like the variety of foods for breaskfast, as compared to very limited options in Australia (like bacon and eggs and nothing else) but there there you can get the full range of international foods. We stayed in a rather small but cozy, modern and clean room. It was already expensive but going bigger and higher or another similar hotel would have been in $1000 per day. So overall balance if great. Location is very good too. Service is very good.

    Rooms are sufficient definitely not 5* but acceptable 4* as advertised. Great spot with the MRT directly across the road which gives you access everywhere. If you’re a visitor get yourself an MRT pass for your stay its very easy to use. Breakfast is a buffet with a good selection. Pool is nice. It’s an easy walk to Orchard Rd. Staff are friendly and helpful. We normally stay near Clarke Quay but would definitely stay here again next time.

    I love the hospitality of the chamber maid
    They are having high alert
    They were cleaning my room during my return (door was opened)
    And they asked me to scan my card before I go in (to make sure I’m the guest of the room)
    They even told me not to hesitate to tell them whatever I would need from them

    I’ve been to many countries or hotels
    Never seen such high alert cleaners

    Went for the lobster buffet. It’s rather pricy for a buffet. Had to wait for freshly grilled lobsters and there was a queue for it. Chili lobsters were tough and the gravy was not warm and it was overly sweet I felt. The gravy in general was on the sweeter side for many dishes, even for the black pepper lobsters and the beef ribs. Not sure if quality of lobsters is the same considering the black pepper lobsters seem less tough than the chili ones?

    Teh tarik was nice. Think nicer ice-cream could have been served given the price of buffet. Also, I think that the stuff meant for the fondue was a bit strange – e.g. melon placed beside the fondue and ladyfingers like those used for tiramisu? Usually such ‘wet’ fruits and such biscuits are not really used for fondue?

    Overall it’s ok but I might not come back unless there’s a really good promo or sth? The concept of a lobster buffet is good but does not quite live up to its expectations.

    Check in time indicated is 2pm, we reach there at 4pm, but was told room is not ready and finally we settled in the room around 4.45pm. We were told that coz it’s the long weekend, hence the delay. Upon getting into the room, the floor is dirty and dusty. It feels that it’s not swept or vacuum. Under the bed was worse, can see the dirt and dust.
    However, I need to praise the staff, I can see they are so under staff but they really try their best to attend to all enquiries and request. Their attitude is really good.
    But the room is really not good. Because this period, hygiene and cleanliness is really important, especially I brought my little one along. Hope the hotel can do something to the cleanliness of the room.

    Service staff skills needs sharpening up, the hours of operation for things like the pool and the club lounge are much too restrictive and the variety and scope of the breakfast needs improving for stays longer than 2 or 3 nights. The hotel is in good condition and the location, with the new MRT, is especially useful. I’m not sure I would rebook yet until I get a sense some of these things are fixed, as there are better options for the same price.

    This was a hotel that i always stayed with my family before pandemic. Now that i’ve just visited here again after 3 years, they have certainly downgraded their quality and especially service. I booked two rooms for 4 nights. Will never stay here again and will definitely deter all my friends and family from Indonesia to stay here or staying in Jen property. They did not provide soap and shampoo and upon asking the front desk they told me they were out of soap and shampoo, the front desk and waitress were also giving out confusing information regarding the breakfast and ultimately still charge $75 dollar for two breakfast that we only ate a plate and a glass of juice each and spend 15 minutes on it. Upon checking in, I asked the receptionist and she mentioned that the room is included breakfast, but now your manager totally dismiss that claim without even checking it to your staff. Thankfully my parents were fasting today due to health checkup. If not we will be charged and dismissed rudely again (yes you, rude indian/malay male manager) after showing that we paid for the breakfast despite eating due to your front desk miscommunication. You will fare better to find other hotels, the rooms got really small from what i’ve usually stayed as well

    Tried calling the reservations dept umpteen times 2 weeks prior my stay but to no avail. Requested for a king-sized bed but was greeted with twin beds upon arrival. There was an electric kettle in the room but no cups to make hot drinks with. There was a TV, but less than 10 channels for guests to watch when Starhub actually offered viewers to watch most channels free. I was speechless.

    I stayed there for one night. Staff is very friendly and helpful. My room has a great view of the swimming pool. Rooms size is average, not that spacious.

    From the time during check-in till check-out, the experience I had here was simply amazing and did not disappoint.

    There was a lot of beautiful lighting and smiles in the lobby as well as the lounge upstairs. Check in was very smooth and the staff was very courteous. Breakfast and cocktail session had the same tranquil atmosphere as well.. a peaceful and enjoyable way to start and end each day here .

The olace was aesthetic and spacious. Overall, it was a very fantastic and wholesome experience to spend it with my family.

    look into the choices of mini buffet and create more awareness . BRING BACK THE OLD TIME SEAFOOD BUFFET CROWD at an average price rather than charging at such a skyhigh price . It really turn the public off including me.

    We are enjoying our stay here. The rooms are a great value compared to other similar hotels in the immediate area, and the service has been wonderful.

    We reserved the family package, which provides two adjoining rooms for an incredible price. The setup is perfect for us traveling with a teenager. You enter through double doors at the end of the hallway and find yourself in a vestibule with two doors – one door for each of the two rooms. This provides for some separation and privacy between the connected rooms while also providing us with the ability to monitor the comings and goings of our teenager who loves feeling like he has more privacy and freedom.

    Sometimes, you can really see how great a place is by watching them solve a problem, and we definitely saw that here at JEN. There was a particularly vexing technical glitch preventing my son’s keycard from working properly. At least four staffers tried to fix it. Multiple staffers even walked up to the room to test their solutions. Everyone was super nice and very empathetic and tried their best. The issue was finally resolved by the manager who figured out a work around for the glitch. The situation showed us just how much the staff here care and how hard they’ll work to fix problems. Truly, this was a staff who really wants to make things right.

    10/10 would stay here again

    What a lovely stay at this beautiful hotel. Staff very welcoming and engaging. I had a great impression at check-in as staff was so friendly and had shared things to do in Singapore given that it is my first time.

    Room was so clean and nicely designed.

    Concierge staff was so useful for all my query for places to see and also assisted me to find taxi and luggage upon arrival.

    Pool was big and had few sunbed to relax during the day. Buffet restaurant J65 had a very good variety at breakfast.

    I cannot thank enough this hotel for such a lovely stay.

    Upon check-out staff was so efficient and so helpful.

    Thank Jen for a lovely stay will see you again.

    Checked into a cosy deluxe room with a comfortable king-sized bed. Toilet is a bit on the small side but acceptable. The room has a two seater couch where you can look out of the window. Breakfast selection is quite good, with the usual western and asian dishes. Nothing exceptional but it was a good stay.

    Rooms are fine, everything else run down and overly busy, enjoy your 60 minute pool session but you have to book two days in advance. Staff tried their best but not enough of them.

    I had a remarkable, fuss free stay at Jen Singapore Tanglin.

    PEOPLE
    The staff were approachable, warm and friendly.
    Special shout out to NAVEEN who welcomed us and helped us and made check-in easy breezy. He was really a joy to speak with.

    Kudos to front receptionist TRACYIE who acceded to our requests and provided exceptional service.

    People serving breakfast were all very efficient and friendly. Received much better service here as compared to 5 Star hotels.

    ROOM
    They provided a complimentary upgrade from Superior to Deluxe. The pool view was exceptional. Felt like I was staying in a resort. The bed was firm and comfortable. They could consider providing a coffee machine in the rooms.

    FOOD
    Breakfast at J65 was quite mediocre. Nothing fancy, just basic breakfast spread. Definitely room for improvement.

    FACILITIES
    Complimentary Parking provided.
    Swimming pool is quite big and there was a life guard on stand by.
    Gym was rather big and well-equipped.

    LOCATION
    It was right at Tanglin Mall – but there wasn’t much to eat/see/do at the mall itself. About 10 -15 min walk to ION.
    Huge bonus was the Botanic Gardens nearby. Totally enjoyed the short stroll to Botanic Gardens. Would totally recommend those staying to check out the Botanic Gardens.

    All in all, even thought the hotel was a tad dated and could do with new fittings, I would totally come back in a heartbeat. The people provided warm service that made my stay. Proximity to Botanic Gardens and Orchard is a huge bonus.

    This hotel is one of the worst hotels in Singapore, as I had a reservation on the wrong date, and when I arrived at the hotel, the management did not bother to solve it, as well as the company with which I booked Agoda. As I was coming from a 7-hour trip in the morning to the hotel, and when I arrived, the reservations person at the hotel told me that we could not amend the date, as well as Agoda. They told me that they would cancel the reservation with Agoda, but that was not done. Now the hotel withdrew the full amount a week before the wrong date and added a 1% surcharge by the Singapore Tourism Board. You have no right to object, neither from Agoda nor from the hotel. This is very bad and theft for the customer, and there are no reservation rights and his money is saved by trusting the Agoda website and putting my credit card in it. I do not recommend this hotel for its mismanagement, and I do not recommend booking from Agoda. Other sites are an option for you.

    Firstly there was a different booking captured in your system and in my booking confirmation. Emailed hotel few times and it always ended halfway without a solution till my check-in day which I have to “hope” that i’m able to get the room type as per my confirmation.

    The room is okay, cozy but the mirror have “spots”/ “mould”. Not 1 but quite a number of it. Moving on to the bed, understand my stay is a peak period and cleanliness of the room shouldn’t be compromised at least? At night my thighs itch throughout my stay, there wasn’t any lotion for me to ease the itch. The aircon adjusts itself at night, it was warm both nights even i set the temperature cool before i head to bed.

    Requested for ice which didnt arrive till my check-out, didn’t know it takes so long for customer service. I waited through the night and i gave up..

    I’m disappointed with the Shangri-la experience.

    Rooms were clean and the location is not so bad with many buses that can easily bring you around town area (eg. Orchard, Somerset). The staffs here were really friendly. Planned a surprise for my gf and the hotel staff were exceptionally helpful to assist me with the surprise. Upon checking in the room, the iron had some issues and the cleaning lady helped me to change it within minutes. The hotel has a lifeguard at the swimming during my stay too. Lastly would like to share that I accidentally left one of my belongings behind after checking out and the staffs called me back to help me retrive my belongings. A good stay for overseas tourists and locals. Strongly recommend it to my friends.

    Selection of lovely food at breakfast buffet.
    Wonderful staff, shout out to Reception staff who made her best to allocate us a connecting room at a last minute request.
    Great room comfy bed and we enjoyed the good water pressure of the shower!

    I and my husband went to J65 for their nostalgic dinner buffet on 08/09/22 (Thursday) for our wedding anniversary. One of the restaurant staff by the name Pratap is very friendly and helpful. We would like to thank him for making us feel at home. We are very sure that Pratap is definitely an asset to your organisation.

    Staff are friendly and efficient, rooms are clean. The only cricism is they could have more towels in room. 10 minute walk to shopping and restaurant area. Gym, pool were very adequate. Would stay again.

    I made a booking for 2 May to 3 May via trip.com. I was shocked to see a long waiting time for check in because i arrived at the hotel at 2pm. When it was our turn to check in, to my astonishment, the booking was not captured in the hotel’s booking system. We also had to wait 1.5 hours for our room. The staff serving us was not professional at all.

    I really hope the hotel management will review their system in managing their bookings. This is such a disappointment. Since the hotel is under Shangri-la hotel management, i expected better service. We would not come back anymore.

    Very nice hotel.

    The room was big with a large comfy bed. It was a well maintained and regularly cleaned to high standard.

    The room comes with most of the basic features and items you would need for your stay and the helpful and friendly staff are always on hand to help with anything you would need.

    The breakfast has a good selection and you can eat as must as you need

    The facilities are good and the hotel is located close to Orchard where you can find most things you would need

    Stayed here from 18th November to 20th November 2022. Let’s review the way I do:

    1. ROOMS : If you’re in Singapore, you don’t have much luxury to talk about rooms. Decent rooms (in looks) and small in size which is not at all a surprise as I said above. Not a lot to talk, good rooms (as they come in Singapore)

    2. FOOD : Not came across anything. I booked a room without Breakfast. Didn’t even try any snacks. So Can’t comment on Food.

    3. LOCATION : Just One word. Stunning. It’s right beside the Orchard Road so you don’t really need to know what’s the location is like. Everyone knows what Orchard road is like. Brilliant Location.

    4. SERVICE : A bit slow at the check-in. Took a very long time for us to check-in. Rest is okay. Housekeeping service is fine. Food I didn’t try so can’t comment again.

    But all in all a wonderful hotel to stay. Pretty good.

    We had made a reservation with Jen a month back to celebrate my son’s first birthday. When we arrived for check in at Jen Tanglin, the counter staff informed us that they could not find our reservation so we provided her with my email reservation confirmation as well as Shangri-La Golden Circle membership number. The email reservation confirmation indicated Jen Orchard Gateway. Instead of telling us that we had turned up at the wrong hotel, the counter staff proceeded to create a new reservation on the spot for us and assured us that the rates which we had booked for earlier will apply. We genuinely didn’t realise that there was another Jen in Orchard Road and proceeded to check in.

    After checking in, the manager called us at 9pm and asked us if we had booked Jen Orchard Gateway instead. He told us to check our email and indeed it indicated Jen Orchard Gateway. He assisted us with cancelling our booking at Jen Orchard Gateway but only proceeded to tell us how much they would charge us after that cancellation and that our booking now didn’t include breakfast, unlike our earlier booking. He said this was conveyed to us when we checked in which wasn’t. The counter staff had told us that our previous reservation would prevail – if not, why would we check in? As you can imagine, we were very upset as we couldn’t understand why we couldn’t have been informed about this at check in. We would have just gone straight to Orchard Gateway.

    In the end, we decided to move to Jen Orchard Gateway as we were very upset with the way Jen Tanglin handled it. It was a matter of principles. This was with a 1 year old and 6 year old in tow at 10pm. The manager in charge informed us that we had to pay for half a day’s charge which we can understand why but it was extremely unnecessary. What a way to have celebrated my son’s first birthday.

    We would suggest that Jen Tanglin relook how to train your counter staff. It’s extremely disappointing to receive such service standards from Shangri-La, especially to be charged a half a day’s of hotel charges for a mistake which I feel your hotel should bear some responsibility for. Yes, we went to the wrong hotel but shouldn’t your staff also inform us about that as they would be more familiar than us that there is another Jen at Orchard Gateway, rather than create a new booking fir us and charge us the current rates. What happened if we were tourists? We wouldn’t have known any better. It comes across to us as being rather unorthodox and unbefitting of a hotel of your standing.

    For the price of their rooms, this hotel has the audacity! Staff (not even kidding but everyone that I’ve had the chance of engaging with acts like they have something far better to do than assist their guest! RUDE is an understatement!)

    I sent 4 emails prior to my arrival to arrange an airport transport for my mum and for a hotel using the brand “Shangri-La” no one seems to know how to open or answer an email!

    I’ve stayed in a three star hotel in Pangasinan in the Philippines that has a Nespresso in their room. This “Shang” gives you freeze dried instant Nescafe for £172 a night. What a joke. Honestly look somewhere else don’t book this hotel and do yourself a favour.

    The room was small but cosy! Service is really good as I had some issue with the payment and they settled it promptly despite me being okay with them settling when they were less busy. Booked a room with breakfast and the food was amazing with many choices and were different everyday. My friend and I had enjoyed our stay. The only issue is that it’s a little far from the MRT station and short walk to the nearest bus stop so taking the cab is an easier option.

    Nice hotel and good service. Breakfast is good but could be “great” if the menu was varied more each day. Will be better when nearby MRT is finished to improve access to all the attractions and the need for a taxi all the time. Walk to orchard rd is just a tad too far for our 7yo. The adjoining Tanglin Mall is very handy for supermarket drinks and snacks though. Would stay again.

    The hotel is good,comfortable,located at proper place. This was my second stay and I loved it this time as well. Only thing I feel that need to improve is service delivery time. I literally had to wait 20 to 30 minutes to receive something like a saving kit, a spoon etc etc. Rest everything was great . Great staff,awesome breakfast, good ambience, proper gym and pool. Keep it up Jen.(y)

    Wonderful, considerate and friendly. Thank you team Jen for taking best care of us during SHN for 14 days. I was alone so a friendly call from reception daily
    To check on was great and flexibility to adjust meals and other needs was really appreciated. The room was well maintained with all amenities. I love the window and room’s ambiance. All in all. Great. Keep up and you should be super proud in doing this so well for folks like us.

    Great location close to the Botanical Gardens makes it easy to go for a morning run or afternoon stroll through one of the island’s true gems. The property is well maintained and the exemplary staff are friendly and helpful. It’s great to have JEN Singapore Tanglin as an option in an otherwise crowded and expensive market. It’s a good value property.

    Room cleaning is good. You can also do self service laundry for $24. There’s iron and iron stand to whick is very convenient. The regular rooms are so big compared to other hotels. They have a cabinet at 2 more drawers for your clothes. You have a sofa inside your room. They also have emergency flashlight in one of the drawers. The customer service here is great. I love the people. The ambience is very welcoming. The buffet breakfast has a lot of variety plus this hotel is also halal certified.
