It’s quite pricey to pay for prata, but it is nice and crispy and you can ask for chicken gravy if you don’t like the default gravy.

Jalan Kayu Parata most commonly known as JK at United Square Novena is tagged as Indian food, they have varieties of Dosa, Prata and special dum biryani on every Friday.
There ice limao tea (Homemade) is too good and personally i am loving it.
Place is always crowded and have less sheet to occupy all customer. This place is not much good if go with stroller (Baby).

Very good prata, though it’s pricy at 2+ for plain and upwards 3-4 for rest. Chicken boneless masala is good as well, recommended. It’s tender and flavourful too! Got the 11++ set: 2 prata/rice and a main dish.

Small restaurant style outlet selling pratas, thosai, bryani etc. Food good but upmarket price. They don’t display the price for the individual item, which means they can raise the price any time without notice and you can’t dispute!

Pratas and curries are pretty good and quite filling. The cheese pratas aren’t great, but egg was nice! Chicken murtabak a little too sparse and too dry. Saw briyani served in enormous piles. Salted lassi is milder in yogurt taste than other places, but strong on the salt. Teh halia is stronger in ginger taste than others!

I came to eat Prata, which is also the name of the store, on the recommendation of a local friend.
It was around 13:00, but 80% of the seats were filled with local people. We are the only travelers. Everyone seems to be eating murtabak.
Plain prata is fine, but coin plata is more elaborate. Another was the meat-combo murtabak, which was popular on the menu.
First, coin plata. An image of a croissant rolled round and round. Slightly sweet dough. If you pickle the curry that comes with it and eat it, it will be an accent. I was at a loss whether to soak the last bite in curry or not.
Then murtabak. The dough is more chewy than I imagined, and the texture is good. Meat is sandwiched between them and I am very satisfied. There was another curry sauce here, so I ate it with plenty of pickles. I felt it was B5 size and big, but I went with my pelori.
On the way home, I watched the work of grilling prata, but I was surprised at the amount of oil used. Not stingy is the secret to deliciousness.
It was a shop that required repeat.

A good place for Indian food if you are in the area. Service is fast and efficient. Environment is very clean too, a nice difference compared to other prata joints.

Had a simple fare of a plain prata, an egg prata and a teh halia. The prata was good with the plain prata being fluffy and chewy. The egg prata was normal. The fish curry that was served with the prata tasted fresh but I would have preferred it a bit more spicy though. The teh halia is excellent with a strong ginger taste that is not overwhelming.

Cost for the meal was 5.10, slightly higher than a neighborhood prata store but the cleanliness and the service level was worth it.

Only Indian place in the neighbourhood…. their Indian tea, Mutton curry, coconut chutney and prata and a must try. Quite nice taste.

Place is quite budget friendly too.

It’s not a fancy place, though. Take ur friends or family when u want a quick eat….and not when u have a lush dining experience in mind.

Ordered the masala chicken, onion pakoda and egg prata. Egg prata was average, not fragrant or crispy. But at least it wasn’t oily. Onion pakoda was a let down. Was cold, probably sitting in the tray for a long time. Couldn’t really taste the spices or onions. Could only taste the fried batter. Masala chicken was good and tender though. Will definitely order this dish again. Food is generally expensive for its quality. Drinks are over priced. Most drinks, including canned drinks are priced over $2 for a small no-frills coffeeshop setting.

It was a big portion but the quality wasn’t quite 4 stars. I would like to see a little smaller but with higher quality. The curry was oily but it was good value so I cannot complain. The raita was very good but small portion. Would have loved more to cut the spice in the curry as there were a couple of massive chilli peppers in there. All n all I feel alive and my wallet was not hit hard so I have to recommend!!

This is not the real Jalan Kayu prata place- but doesn’t matter. The prata and curry is SUPERB! Better than most places, definitely better than anything in Jalan Kayu. A tad pricier, but that could be forgiven as they’re located in a shopping mall.

For those who wants a light meal or afternoon tea – crispy paper prata with curry. I am not a chilli eater thus the curry was a bit spicy. Dhal curry is available for those having prata (slightly crispy)

Although crispy, the crackers in a bag is salty for me, not really good for kids.

Staff who served the food to our table is helpful. When we wanted sugar by helping ourselves at the front, he told us to sit as he will bring it to us.

    Maybe crowded on a Sat.

Was not patient when asking me about my vaccine status and walked away pointing at me to his colleague when I told him to wait while I was extracting the info from Health Hub app. When I finally got around to showing my app, he still had the gall to ask me if this is legit?! Please train your staff – understand that this is due to covid restrictions but maybe let them know of the manners required in the service industry. Am extremely disappointed with the attitude!

Not a bad option if you’re craving for Roti Prata after shopping. We ordered 1 Double Egg Prata and 1 Mushroom Prata coupled with fish curry. Both were evenly fried, crispy and tasty. Tea Tarik was on the right proportion of milk and strength. Paid for Honey Lemon but we were given Honey “Lime” instead. Well, may be lime is better than lemon in breaking down food for better digestion. LOL. Will try the 5pm Dinner Promo on our next visit and rate again.

Unfortunately for myself, the other dishes left a long lasting strong bitter aftertaste in my mouth. My palate is quite sensitive to things such as artificial sweeteners, so I am guessing they used this or some other artificial ingredient.

The meat and vegetable dishes are fine. But the briyani was too oily to my palate.

They also almost forgot to serve our drink orders and we have to remind them twice despite there is not many customers after our turn.
