Hidden gem on a street with a lot of other, higher priced food options. Actually went to another Thai restaurant several doors down and paid 10 times as much with about as much satisfaction from the food.

Prices are very reasonable and the menu is pretty extensive. You order on little tablets that are at each table so you can see what you’re ordering before you get it. It’s also a very quick system for sending in food orders so you can get to your food faster.

Would only note that this place is cash only to make sure to plan accordingly.

$8.80+$2 lunch set meal. The soup was tasty, spiciness levels can be customised. This is the regular spicy level(just nice for my palate). Had good chunks of fish and 2-3 prawns. Having said this, not everyone may enjoy the rice as it was very soft(almost mushed like)

I ordered for takeaway on 29 May 2021 from Purvis Street outlet. Green curry and tom yum soup (chilli paste) were very authentic and the spice level were just right. The green curry was thick and flavourful. Tapioca with coconut milk, mango sticky rice and olive rice were pretty good. I ordered 6 pieces of Pandan chicken which were very dry and hard. Website menu stated it’s $2.50 per piece but I was charged for $3. I highlighted to the cashier, she told me the system reflected $3 per piece when she keyed in. It’s time to update your menu on the website. Will definitely be back but not gonna buy pandan chicken again.

    Pretty decent Thai fare.

It’s usually crowded in the evenings but the wait isn’t too long.

The food is definitely on the spicy side, so for those who aren’t that good with the heat, do take note!

My husband and I had pad see-ew and pad khee mao. The pad see-ew was bland, and the pad khee mao was just about passable. No condiments came with the noodles and when my husband asked for chilli powder and vinegar, they said they didn’t have vinegar. Anyway, after a mini discussion amongst themselves some vinegar magically appeared. All the staff just looked unhappy – no hello, no thank you, no goodbye. But they charged me 10% service charge. This place has definitely gone downhill and I won’t be returning.

A popular and crowded place on weekday lunch time. Advisable to go earlier during such timing. Tablet ordering. The food price is decent. Food quality is a mix. Delicious food! Took my vegetarian boyfriend here and he was very happy with the food. There’s a section for only vegetarian options and you can also choose to omit eggs, garlic and onions if you can’t eat them.

Definitely recommending the tofu red curry! Service isn’t friendly but it is a fast option for lunch. It’s always crowded too, so that’s a good sign for delicious food. Price is reasonable. 1 medium red curry, 1 Tang Hoon and rice with iced water for less than $20 for 2pax.

Tasty, simple, authentic Thai food, cooked by Thais, served by Thais and eaten by Thais! Probably the best vegetable omelette you’ll ever eat. The leaf-wrapped chicken is also outstanding, and their tom-yum soup packs a chilli punch. Amazing value for money too. And they serve beer!

The pad Thai is not pad Thai is like food courts one. The fried chicken, maybe cooked for ages very dry you can feel how old it is. About the staff nothing remarkable. Quite limited seats due to the pandemic. The shop was also tucked into a corner at the side, which may be easily overlooked if you were not looking for it. Tissue paper and toothpicks can be found at the counter/cashier, and there was a restroom at the back. If you like this place, you will love the other branch at Marymount road. It is bigger and the proportions are larger I think.

Racial Discriminating services and unfresh fish.

Visited this restaurant on 27 Sep 2020 12pm. The cashier lady with short and brown dyed hair in her 40s wearing a jade pendant.

Based on observations She only serve customers who are or with caucasians(Farangs).

Asian ethics will be served by another junior staff on her assignment. When leaving only her junior staff give thanks for patronising.
    Herself keep silent and ignorance.

Even when payment the cashier just threw the receipt at you on the counter and wont bother to speak or acknowledge of payment is cleared.

The food is average other then the sea-bass is not fresh.

Anyway here to share my experiences with fellow patrons. Is my first time and last time to this Farangs friendly restaurant.

My craving for Thai food never stop, so my colleagues and I headed down to Jai Thai to settle for our dinner as we were around Bras Basah. It was a small restaurant well decorated with Thailand’s ambience.

We started with a Tom Yum Soup Clear with Chicken ($7 / $10 / $14). It was not spicy, marred by an overwhelmingly sour taste. However, I find that the soup / broth seem rather weak in body, and lacks the characteristic spicy heat of other better versions. It comes with soft oyster mushrooms and chicken pieces. I think it’s fine for anyone who wants to start by sharing an appetizing dish, but not as a meal.

Love the authentic Thailand Green Curry Chicken (SGD $6 / $9 / $12), with its smooth, floral, herb flavor within the green curry. A generous portion of tender chicken chunks and eggplant complete this dish, which pairs well with rice. Completely delicious!

The Phad Thai Beef (SGD $9 / $14 / $18) here is tasty, with each strand of the flat rice noodles carrying a smoky, savory sweet flavor, enhanced with delicious bits of egg. However, I find that the beef is overcooked and too stretchy to ingest.

Omelets with vegetable ($6 / $9 / $12) was delicious. The eggs were fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. I did not expect much from a simple dish but this dish made me want more.

Stir-fried Beef with pepper & garlic ($7 / $10 / $14) was overcooked in my opinion. It was stretchy and tiring to chew. However, the flavors were decent.

The food is fantastic, but nobody to serve us throughout, we have to discover ourselves where to order, they have tablet on each table and you can order from the tablet itself, and once done, they will serve the food to you within 5mins, which is surprisingly fast as we came during lunch hours.

The only thing downside is there is this place abit small, so 10 tables or so and you need to queue up.

Budget thai experience. Much similar to budget airlines – cost of food items are around 15-20% less than normal thai food. But, everything else is charged extra. 60cents for water, 60 cents for tissues, 10% service charges.

Food is nice and tasty. Authentic Thai tastes, which are spicier than normal ‘fusion’ thai. Pandan chicken are large pieces, as compared to ‘bite’ size chunks at other places.

Simple Thai food that were a Tat too salty for my taste. Maybe we should have ordered ala carte rather than the set for the three of us. There was a vegetable dish, fried fish with chilli sauce, Tom yum soup, chicken dish and prawn cakes. I would only recommend the Tom yum out of all the dishes that we have tried. May give other dishes a try the next time. Price is reasonable.

Not authentic. Green curry, padthai noodles are on the sweet side and it’s not spicy at all. Clear tomyam soup is quite bland and it is really small portion. Overall the portion is small. The only thing that is good is the basil beef. They have localize the food to suit the tastes of locals.

Price is decent. However, I’m not too impressed by service as well as the taste of some of the dishes, especially the Tomyam soup which was rather different from the many others I’ve tried.

Food was okay. Tom yam soup was below expectations, but the basil chicken, pineapple fried rice and pad thai were not worth the money considering the reasonably low price.

One of the best authentic Thai food in Singapore. Pineapple fried rice, Pad Thai and green curry tasted amazing and I would definitely recommend these dishes. However, the Pandan chicken was not to our liking and the milk tea was a bit sweet.

Service is not so great. They could be nicer and more attentive. Especially considering thai people are usually the warmest, friendliest, smiling souls. But the food is authentic, delish, incredible value for money, portion sizes are pretty amazing too. Their curries, pad thai, pandan leaf chicken, mango salad, pineapple rice, spring rolls are winners. Their tamarind fish and shrimp is a miss, trust me on that. For tamarind fish, go next door to First Thai.

2nd visit to this restaurant. Externally not very attractive but the food is surprisingly good especially the vegetarian option since most of my colleagues are vegetarian. Of course, they serve non-veg.

Love the green and red curry , very flavourful.

    We had vegetable omelette ($7.00), Deep Fried Beancurd -M ($12.00), Fried Kang Kong -M ($12.00), Kailan With Mushroom – M ($12.00), Olive Rice – M ($12.00) , Red Curry – M ($12.00) & Tom Yum Soup – L ( $16.00) .

    Overall a very satisfying meal.

PS: Didn’t get to take photo of all the dishes as we digged in before we remember to take them.

There is a dedicated menu just for vegetarians, with super wide range of options and delicious authentic thai flavours. Really accessible from Suntec area. Highly recommend their Green Curry & Thai Mango Salad that was refreshing & tangy. Good for both group and individual meals. But restaurant interior lighting can be quite dim. Along the shophouses so its expected that there is not much seating space, but sufficient- since unable to reserve seats, seats availability depends on timing you visit.

But Lady boss , Happi is very helpful to accommodate me on the last minute order. Food was superb nice until my kids finished all within 20mins. I ordered : Signature dish (boneless chicken wings, clear tom yum soup, thai fish cakes, Tapioca dessert, mango sticky rice and my favourite prawn tang hoon) no other photos as my kids really ate up all the food before i could take any photos!! When your photo ad shows large prawns with full head in your tom yam soup and you serve tiny peeled frozen prawns, it’s not good. The few measly pieces of squid in the soup were also rubbery hard. The soup tasted fine at least. Now the brown rice was a completely different thing altogether. If your chef has no idea how to cook brown rice, don’t serve it. It was horrible! Yucks. What a horrible meal. I could not finish, paid and left.

Ate here twice – once recently and another time a few years back. I ordered their set meal which consisted of a drink, tomyum soup and rice. I wish the tomyum soup portions were larger but it was value for money given the price. I topped up extra to change the drink to green milk tea and it was not diluted and yummy. I like that you can customize the spice level too While it was not the best thai food I’ve tasted, I think it’s value for money and would want to come back to try other dishes. Service is not spectacular as staff seem sullen but it’s not bad either.
