Rather excellent, great meatballs as advertised and a few surprise favourites like the mozzarella cheese dumplings. the yellow noodles with black sauce were good and the chilli was fantastic. It’s crazy how those meatballs are only 70¢ each, they’re huge.

I’d skip on the Ngoh Hiang though, they’re all pork and are basically just the meatballs but with a pasty texture.

One of my go to place for comfort food. I’ve been having their YTF since I was a little girl and the the taste is exactly like how I remember it …

YTF store in a neighbourhood Kopitiam with wide variety but so-so in overall.

Personally think that the non-fried items fared better than fried ones as those were too oily. Fishball was the most outstanding item I ordered, as it was springy, tasted fresh and handmade. Most items were nonetheless on the bland side. Dried noodles were cooked well and coated in fragrant soy sauce that was quite unique.

Been having this Hakka Yong Tau Foo since I was a little boy. Currently second generation hawkers operating the stall. The bomb here is the fish meat Ngo Hiang. Crispy on the outside and juicy, savoury on the inside. Pieces of Yong Tau Foo each at an affordable 70 cents and a clear, tasty soup of anchovies and soya beans with no msg. Used to be a Sunday treat when I was growing up in Toa Payoh decades ago when they were located at Blk 116 coffeeshop and two sisters were operating the stall. A nice taste of nostalgia to date and tastes as good.

Nov ’22 – One distinct difference from the rest of YTFs is the use of salted fish which is one of the hallmarks of Hakka dishes.
Unfortunately the CCF did not work for me. Too compact and lacks flavor. I would have gone for Kway Teow instead

Feb ’22 – Noticed that there are 2 Hup Chong in Toa Payoh. Almost same name, selection is slightly different and about the same prices.
This was in Toa Payoh North which had some fancy items using cheese and pumpkin (rosti).
Personally, I feel this outlet has a better quality and taste. Items seemed slightly larger as well. The sauce and chili are similar.

Ingredients and source are nice. I asked for black source noodles, which I really enjoyed. Although I’m not sure if the operators are bosses or not, they are not friendly at all, which is why I only give them a 3 out of 5. Closed on Friday, but Google does not update the information.

Cheap and good. Will missed it after it moved after this month. This is one of the better Yong Tau Foo in my part of town where I go for late Sunday lunch sometimes and lunch on weekdays at other times. It gets quite crowded at peak lunch time.
It was less crowded when I was there passed peak lunch hour last Sunday and I went to the shelf to pick what I want but cannot help notice what was displayed on the wall. Bummer, they are moving further though still in the same town.
Each piece of item is $0.60 but I wonder if the price at the new location will be the same. I can only try to find out after this month.

Healthy eating vegetarian style. Good choice of self serve veggies and everything grown in nearby countries. Served with choice of noodles but bean sprouts finished earlier. Soup added or separate, add two sauces any quantity you wish. Brown and chilli sause are with sugar added so diabetics may minimize or stick to soup version. Dry version requires substantial saices, add pepper, sesame seeds and soya sause at will.

My go-to place for affordable yong tau foo near my area. Must try is their yam rice – very generous portion given & tasty! Overall their food is great. Price range for 5 items + yam rice is usually $4.50-$5.

CDC voucher is accepted there too.

Service wise, there’s a tall lady with long hair who’s usually at the counter & have been very friendly, respectful & extremely courteous to customers like me (which is nice! One of the reason I go back is because of her). It’s only the other shorter lady that lacks good customer service as she tends to be grumpy most of the time in terms of facial expression, tone & attitude (when it’s not even peak hours).

The yong tau foo is nice. The home made ngoh hiang and crispy meat balls are a must have. The soup they served the bee hoon in could have been better. There was no taste of the yellow beans and it wasn’t served piping hot.

Fragrant dry noodles that comes doused in a flavourful sauce concoction. Prices might be a bit higher than the usual yong tau foo, though the prices are justified with the substantial portions of the ingredients.

Fried ingredients can be a hit or miss depending on your selection. Appreciate how the dry and wet ingredients are separated. While crispy, some of the ingredients were undercooked and as a result, rather tough/hard (e.g. lotus root) when one bites into it. Soup is also tasty as well.

One of the best YTF around. Introduced by a Muslim friend even though he couldn’t try, and since then have been visiting whenever I come to TPY. Ingredients and soup are really tasty, truly Hakka style. Also prefer the Malaysian black sauce dry noodles, so much better than the typical overly-sweet tomato sauce over the noodles. Most of all it’s still very affordable.

Food is not bad, but a tad pricey for a neighborhood eatery. Air-conditioned restaurant but it is non-existent in the sweltering Singapore summer. A good variety of Yong Tau Foo selections but recommended are the meat balls and meat rolls. Each item only costs 60 cents which is a fair deal in today’s food environment. There is fair amount of sitting space in the coffee shop though the process is a little slow as they warm up the fried pieces using a air fryer instead of dipping them in hot oil. More healthy!!! Generally friendly though I encountered one server who probably had a bad day (the servers change shift as I visited in morning and mid afternoon on same day and I got very different attitudes). Food may be good but I get turned off by the attitude.

Earlier days of Hakka YTF or stuffed tofu consisting primarily of tofu filled with ground pork meat mixture and these days using fish paste is common.
For me, the deep fried Ngor Hiang, Meatball & Wonton (60 cents each) are irresistible. It is good and addictive. The chilli sauce is just right; not too sour nor sweet ! The Chee Cheong Fun ($2 for 2 pcs) is silky smooth.

Came this morning after the swim. Fried Meat ball crispy.
Soup bland, not sweet. Probably need more corn, soybeans.
    $5.60 for 6 pcs + noodle.
I have higher expectations. Lets hope better next time. After 2 tries, i am not impressed.

My best bet is still the one in tanjong pagar market

Thanks to the super ‘nice’ prate, this is the amount I can eat. In the end, I order the Yong tau foo. Super tasty and worth it.

If you are there , don’t eat like our old style putting the red sauce all over the bowl. Here they had pour some of their special sauce on the noodle. Today is my first time, I messed it up. Overall , it is a tasty and delicious Yong Tau Foo. Thumbs up !

Tried curry rice and yong tau foo. Curry is great, very thick and spicy gravy. Yong tau foo is even better. Fresh ingredients and loved the yong tau foo sauce. Very reasonable price too!

This is a lost & found stall to me, having wow by their meatballs ages ago at their old location and possibly before their split into the now ‘infamous’ red & blue YTF stall.

Their meatballs are still so good, and probably now run by a new generation with new ideas or simply motivated to out do the other stall, their selections seems comprehensively enhanced as they not only have both the minced meat & fish paste filling but also some of their own creation like fried cheese dumpling & lotus sandwiched w/minced meat etc, though these do not necessarily stand out among the traditional items. The staple are also equally impressive as apart from the usual noodle, they also have pumpkin rice and even chee cheong fun. You would simply want to come back for more!

One of the best yong tau foo options in Singapore. Wide range of selection. Quick turnaround with very friendly service. Price is slightly on the higher side but is really worth it because of the tasty food and soup. Too bad the stall closes relatively early at 7pm. Highly recommended to try out if you are nearby this area.

There are lesser selections now that it moved to Blk 203 coffee shop. But the meat ball and meat roll is still the best. Missed the coffee and mee pok.
