    The room has an unpleasant smell. Pillows have a sweaty smell which are not washed thoroughly I suppose. Place was run down and no maintenance. Hotel 81 is far more better than this.

    Check in take about 1 hr totally no system.. room is worst very dirty and dusty even washroom there’s is those toilet washing detergent wasn’t kept,
    Lastly what I can’t tolerate 8am there’s some staff knocking our door and house keeping staff just bang it while we are sleeping.

    Last 2 days ago we had stay at this hotel, and we had complain of the noisy, near the hotel there are a night club bar, today we have a room quite same location. Near the night club bar. And the toilet is a handycap toilet. There are smelly of urine odor.
    Please improve for services, we are very often stay at this hotel, every 3 months we should stay in this Hotel

    Good location. Breakfast buffet is ok. Room is small but clean. There are not instant coffee and tea in room. Only free wifi for 50mb. My family didn’t register to use internet (after using out of 50mb) but when checking out, we were charged 12$. The staff couldn’t explain clearly everything. He is rude and not professional. Never come back again.

    Please don’t choose this hotel even if its cheaper and on(near) Orchard Road

    I’m not able to give any rating that will show any negative rating for this hotel
    We booked this hotel through Thomas Cook Travels. They had an agent here, Red apple Travels. To attract more group tourists, this Hotel is offering greater discounts to the agents by cutting down on the basic amenities that you might expect from an 3 Star Hotel.
    The food was really bad. It started to get cold,wwhen asked to replace it with a warmer version of it, I got no response form the people there. They didn’t even bother to acknowledge my request.

    I stayed there for two days, it was fantastic hotel. Service was excellent, very supportive crew. Breakfast, lunch, dinner good. Swimming pool on the top floor. And the best part was view from my room, it was awesome.

    3.5 star hotel? More like 1. There’s others like Mercure hotel, Jen hotel or even Concorde that serve the same pricing.

    Comfortable accommodation. Front desk let us check in very early which was great. Unfortunately the hotel loses a star due to a very clunky TV system and the fact that the air conditioning turns off when you leave with your room key (you only get one) meaning you return to a humid, stale, hot room.

    Stayed here for a week, here’s what my experience was
    1.Rooms- If you’re booking yourself you’ll see in every room category they mention deluxe room or twin room rest assured they’ll give you room with twin beds only no matter how in advance you book the room. They have this excuse that they have very limited rooms with single beds so definitely if you’re a couple don’t book this hotel.
    2.Room amenities – they don’t provide cold water, water dispenser although should give cold water but it gives regular water only, refrigerator doesn’t work.
    3 Hospitality- the front desk representative are of no help , you can request all you want they won’t help you including the day shift manager.
    4 Breakfast- limited options but still good
    5.Room service- only till 1900hrs , after that you can request all you want but you won’t get anything.

    Suggestion- You can look to book Hotel V lavender which cost about 10$ more but is way better than this hotel. If your travel agent is booking this hotel for you (which is how this hotel gets it’s mostly bookings) he’s doing so for a good comission try not getting into that trap.

    Between 2 stations so quite convenient and very close to a bus stop. Hotel itself is quite nice. Didn’t get a chance to use the roof top pool but view from there is nice.

    This has been the worst hotel I have been in the past 10 years. Only the hotel location is great, otherwise everything else is very very bad. The rooms are stinking, bathrooms small with no spare toilet paper. Rusted bath tubs and shower taps, beds quite small. Breakfast is horrible. Very little choice and nobody cares to provide any help or assistance when asked about the food as there are no food tags on any of the items. You do not even know whether the sausage provided is chicken or pork. Several people found bringing their own food and consuming only the hotel tea or coffee. Powder milk and sugar are kept in bowls – a bit odd for a hotel in a modern country like Singapore. The most horrible breakfast I have ever seen. Some staffs are polite though.
    Good only for its great location.

    Hotel Chancellor is pretty decent for its price range. Location is great and breakfast is okay as expected of a $13 buffet breakfast.

    Was concerned about the reviews but overall is pretty good for this price. Just don’t expect 5 star service and food and you will be okay.

    It is a budget hotel. Bed was so small, shorter than a queen size bed. Difficult to fit in. No kettle given in room. No options for preparing tea or coffee. The bathroom cum toilet area was also very small. Further, no possibility of locking the bathroom door. There was no health faucet given in toilet. The hotel had 4 lifts and the staircase doors were locked. So no possibility of leaving in case of emergencies. This must be given immediate attention.

    I never give bad ratings but this place honestly is so overpriced for what we got. Pros – brilliant location and view from the room. Cleaning lady was so lovely and greeted us anytime we were coming or going if she was working. Rooms are quiet you can’t hear to much from the hallway which was good. Pool on the roof. Cons – massive reception area that’s understaffed any time we needed information or even to check out we had to wait in a long line. Breakfast was disgusting no labels on what anything was and the food was mostly cold. We got some ham slices and when we got to the table to eat it thick jelly ran from it. Getting out of the shower you would nearly break your neck no shower mat provided and I think anyone elderly would really struggle. No English TV channels apart from the news and as it rained most of the week we ended up just watching things on our phones. We wanted to book trips to universal studios and used the woman the hotel have in reception her name was Susan I would avoid at all costs she charged extortionate rates you’d be better to do it online yourself. As it was raining so heavy both days we were available to do the trip she told us she woudnt refund any money paid even the taxi fare which we wouldn’t have used. For this reason we ended up just going in the pouring rain so we didn’t lose out on all the money.

    Horrible service! Called for more than hour to get the iron & ironing board! Room phone is not working to call the front office & got to use our own cell phone to make calls to hotel. Front service staff when answering the calls got no etiquette & totally uninterested in her job! Will definitely be my first & last day here! Can’t wait to get out of here!!!

    TLDR: Great location, everything else is absolutely abhorrent.

    Customer service: 3pm check in time with more than 30 guests waiting but only 2 receptionist to assist with check in. After 30 minutes of waiting in the queue, 2 customers cut right infront of me. After we confronted the receptionist,  she told me that they came in the morning so she will go ahead and process them first. HELLO? Does that sound like “me” problem? Shouldn’t your hotel have another queue for customers like this? How can you just allow other customers cut people that is already in the line?? Fine, ridiculous queue management but I’ll let it go. But oh my goodness the receptionist is taking her own sweet time to process 2 customers. It took her another 15 minutes for just 2 customers.

    Room: The moment we stepped in, the room had a strong stench that resembles an old man’s body odour. Sure let’s just spray some of my cologne to weaken the horrid stench. Opened up youtube on the tv to calm ourselves down and guess what. YOUTUBE UNDER MAINTENANCE. HUH???????

    Hotel service:
    – Request for early check in? Sure but 100 more dollars.
    – Request for late check out? Sure ill give you a generous 30 minutes more.
    – Can i have one more hotel card? Sorry, we do not allow 2 cards for a single room.
    – Can we come earlier and put our bags first before check in? Sure but ill put your luggage right in the open space next to a convenient store with no security

    All in all, sincerely and with the bottom of our heart, screw you Hotel Chancellor. You ruined me and my wife’s 10 year anniversary.

    The hotel was very nice! One of the besheets was stained and the floors had not been cleaned , but if it were have cleaned it would be an awesome hotel! The view and the the service is very good ! The Best part is the hotel is on orchard road and you can explore orchard road when you have free time ! Overall I had a lovely experience

    So so hotel, pics from agoda looks very clear & decent. Quite disappointed when I check in, a lot of dust in corners. Don’t even dare to use the stuff provided as it feels very dirty. Stayed 4D3N but the swimming keep on under painting. Which was very disappointed, I booked this hotel because I would like to swim. Not gonna book again. Hotel is old too. Old is fine but it’s dirty so nah. A total turn off.

    Recently had another trip to singapore and now i regret choosing this filthy and the most uncomfortable hotel ever i booked. The staff here is so rude and lacks basic services that a tourist would expect. Incase the guest needs something, he is the one who has to run all the way down to the vestibule and collect it cause these people dont event have fellows who could supply it to your room. After this there is no cutlery provides to the room and yes these people will only help you out with just 2 tea bags perday and if you wish to have a cup of tea in the afternoon too, guess what? You gotta pay 5 S$ for one teabag. Also these people dont like to get disturbed and for this they will hang up your call, this is what i faced. Besides, the staff has a million and trillions of excuses for a guest not being served properly. To be honest the 5 days in this hotel to me felt like 5 days in hell. The breakfast was so crazy bad that even after taking a breakfast package we had to eat cup noodles in the room. The only thing they were upto was anyhow making your room. This hotel is just a waste of money and nothing else, this was the very first time i faced such a worst and horrible sevice in my life @hotel chancellor orchard. Doest even deserves that one star from the ratings above. HOPELESS HOTEL!!

    If Google allow 0-star as an option, it would have been most ideal.

    We turned into Hotel Chancellor’s carpark by accident and the first sign we saw was “Park at your own risk”.

    Indeed, it was a risk we never expected, and an experience of lifetime.

    Multiple attempts to exit the carpark was to no avail. Error signs kept popping up, and seeking help via the intercom ended up with no response.

    We alighted and went up to the reception for help. After some back and forth, they assured us that there will be no deductions if we used the same card before we went back to the carpark. Once again, the error message continue to flash and the barrier did not budge.

    Guess what, we were in the hotel carpark for less than 10 minutes. The manager insisted that we agreed to the terms and conditions when entering the carpark (we might have missed that sign but surely remember the “park at your own risk sign”. was he alluding to that?) and hence will charge us $10 administrative fees and $2 parking fees.

    All in all, we are very grateful for the manager’s kindness in refunding $38 and charging us a mere $12 for the short less-than-10-minute trapped experience in their carpark.

    This hotel is disappointing. The lobby is worn down and smells bad. The room smells like a hospital and unclean because I kept sneezing. The hair dryer was not functioning. I had to demand they give me a working hair dryer and they finally did after 2 days. But after the airconditioning unit controls stopped working. The power and temperature controls stopped working. The only good thing is it is near orchard road but there are so many hotels located near orchard road. Never using this hotel again.

    26-30 June 2022. Did not stay and the Hotel Chancellor @Orchard have refused to refund and given reasons why. They needed proofand the proof is in the reviews by other guests who have stayed.
    I strongly advise not to stay, heed the reviews and do not spend or waste your money on them.

    Housekeeping at the common areas not very well done. can see lots of stains on the carpets. Rooms were OK though more well kept than the external areas.

    No free parking for guest. Parking was also a hassle to reach.

    Smoking point was accross the small street. Will not recommend this hotel to heavy smokers.

    Very convinent location though

    The hotel location is good, but rooms are small, maybe that’s how it is in Singapore. But the hotel service is pathetic. They have just one luggage trolley which the guests have to pull to the room and bring back to the lobby.No service there. The room service is also slow and mostly do not understand basic courtesy especially if travelling with small kids. Further, the worst is the breakfast- the menu is 90percent non vegetarian and does not cater to international standards- for eg they wont serve an omelette, or wont give warm milk for small kids. No tea or coffee. The food preparation, even in case of non veg is pathetic. And breakfast is served in disposable plates. The worst part is, that they remove the buffet strictly at 10am and wont offer even a cup of coffee or bread strictly at 10.00am. Not only this, they switch off the lights at the cafe area even if guests are sitting and guests are told to wrap up in the next two minutes. We were traveling with small kids and it felt as if we were not on vacation but in a hostel mess. A very bad experience at the hotel.

    got changed to a new room because they said my old room air conditioner is faulty.. changes happen only after few weeks of staying, even though i already reported about the air conditioner faulty since day one.. worst thing is, the new room given air conditioning is not as cold as the old room.. seems like im getti g a new room with poorer air cond..

    The hotel staff was non cooperative and non helpful.
    The staff kept us waiting for the check in and had kept us stalling for room keys and check in was not done in time or properly. The breakfast buffet was not good and the staff kept us pushing for finishing up and moving out of the restaurant. There was no basic facilities provided in the open washroom and there was no drinking water for people waiting in the lobby too.

    Overall it was not a pleasant experience (good location, okay room, but awful service).
    What we disliked the most was the receptionist’s attitude. She, who “welcomed” us on out first day, was not helpful, was not polite, and when we asked questions she got visibly angry at us. We dont know the reason why (crowded, heavy workload) but we strongly felt like we are being hated for asking questions such as “when we can get an invoice?”
    Other than that, it is a three star hotel. So we did not have unrealistic expectations. The housekeeping was good. The room was also okay.

    Consider a cheap hotel in the heart of shopping district, but services I will have to say that is the main down point of this hotel. There won’t be any housekeeping or service personnel at night to serve your guest daily needs. If guest late check in, upon arrival in the hotel there won’t be any staff coming out to help the guest with the luggages and worst they even lock their trolley without even letting the guest to use. Ask for help the receptionist can just show me an don’t come and bother me face and walk right into their office to relax. When walk over to the receptionist counter the manager whom is free sees us walk over just turn around and walk into the office instead of asking what we need. In the end being greeted by an unhappy staff whom too give attitude when doing the check-in. Went up the room, requested for any toiletries or blankets, the manager in charge will tell you this call back tomorrow at 7am now we don’t do any services. You want come down to the reception to ask. We got no one to attend to the room services. So this is the type of hotel services they provided which is even worse than any other budget hotel around Singapore which at least will tend too your needs when you needed one. So too my opinion any travellers whom do wish to stay in the hotel please do be prepare for these. For I don’t know whether issit just not my day or this is their hotel culture.

    It’s great cos of the price! U will rarely find such low price hotel at orchard area! The room is fine although I read some complained about not clean n old…Well…if u wan CLEANER n NEW room..go book a HIGHER PRICE room then! It will be AWESOME if the front desk staffs SMILE more!
    I was disturbed by the chambermaid twice in the morning though, at 9plus n 10 plus. . she rang my doorbell n the second time she actually unlock my door tnking no one is in the room..n I APPEARED at the door n she apologised n go off… She wanna clean the room fast I guess.. but the ck out time is 12pm..!!
    The swimming pool at 7plus at nite……no lights…dark…
    Overall..still love n enjoy my stay..

    Quality of food in breakfast is a bit disappointed. They serves kangkung and bean sprout everyday. Only one breakfast menu. One old coffee machine (without proper labels) Is available for hundreds of guest. Is war zone for breskfast very morning. I have never seen the staff having a good greeting to incoming guest.

    Nice hotel with a good location. Staff is helpful and friendly. The hotel is within 10 mins of multiple different train rides and is near many malls and restaurants. This was our second time staying here and the hotel was able to give us the exact same room we stayed at before we were married. It has a rooftop pool with a food view and is fairly unused. The only downside I had with the hotel is the breakfast. They have plenty of options which change everyday but it is more for quantity and lacks quality. Breakfast is also elevator rush hour. There are no stairs to get back down and the elevators seem to be designed to go all the way up before coming down. So many people were going up and down, to and from breakfast that it would sometimes take you 15 to 20 mins to get in one. Many people would just go ride one up then go back down which added even more to the hectic elevator rush.

    If you are on a low budget, this one is a good choice. You won’t be starving, but don’t expect very good food there for a breakfast. If you need some hot water in your room, make sure you ask the staff how to operate the water heater when you enter your room. It’s probably the most weird water heater I have ever seen.

    The reception staff is courteous. The hotel is neat and clean. Though a 3 star property but the best part is the water purifier in every room which saves on your mineral water heavy expenditure. But the breakfast is not good not many veg options and also veg and non veg not sorted by red and green symbols. The location is great in the heart of Singapore.

    The reception is pretty quaint and plain, with 2 sets of sofas for guests and outsiders. It is located in nearby Somerset, so there are a lot of options for shopping and food. Across the hotel is a small seafood food place with affordable prices. There is a bus stop so transport is easy as well.

    My rating is on the pre-trip & 1st day experience with hotel. I sent in query over email about 8 days back which was never responded. I requested for 3hr early check-in which was not accommodated stating that hotel was fully booked. However group booking families got the early check-in. Front desk staff was so uptight & wasn’t courteous. We got the 1 hour early check-in finally. I’ll continue to rate for each day experience (1/4)

    Quick shout out to Lizah from Reservations, very kind, helpful and goes beyond expectations to meet customer satisfaction. Need more people like that at Hotel Reservations to upkeep customer service levels. I didn’t get a chance to stay at the Hotel this time but will definitely stay when I go for a trip next time.

    Chancellor Hotel Orchard may look impressive with a supposedly 4-star rating but something about it left a bitter taste in my mouth.

    I booked a premium room for 2 pax. The first room assigned had a leaking ceiling right outside of my room door. Upon request for a room change, the 2nd room allocated is another disappointment.

    I was rudely awakened by the faulty lighting above the bed headboard that keeps blinking and flashing even after being switched off. The beauty of a pitch dark room was flawed by flashes of ‘lightning’ at every 1 minuite interval, starting from after midnight till my spouse and I confronted the front office at about 3.30am.

    Our point is why the hotel accepted our booking and then assigned a room unfit for occupation. The only staff on night duty heard us and relayed the message to Night Duty Manager, Suzy Allan, seated in a room close by. We were told by the staff, as directed by Suzy, to ‘toy’ with the switch buttons, hoping to stop the flickering by turning it on/off repeatedly. Shocked, I demanded to speak with Suzy in person who seems glued to her seat. The first words she uttered were : ‘Yes what is it?’ OMG, her indifferent and nonchalant attitude seems to snub at our presence as if we were there just to strike up a conversation with her in middle of the night.

    Sadly, her lack of basic knowledge that travellers book hotel rooms so to have a nice shower and a peaceful and restful sleep at the end of day made matters worse. With no apologies tendered, where the circumstances justify it, she hinted that the discomfort and disruptive sleep experienced by a paying hotel guest or the bad hotel experience is commonplace.

    We did not engineer the situation. My tone would not be harsh had Suzy been duly trained to effectively handle and assist guest in distress by coming up with a prompt solution to fix the issue, instead of suggesting a stupid “toying” method, Upon further urging, another staff was called in to follow us back to our room. Finally, the security personnel, doubled up as maintenace, cut off power supply to all lightings except the toilet and hallway to stop the flickering.

    The next morning, we received news of a room change after 3pm, when rooms become available. However, when we approached front office in the evening to effect the room change, we were told no such arrangement made and we are to proceed to our old room to wait for maintenance service in the next half hour. I pity the hotel for employing a team of jokers, including Duty Managers, to man the counter leading to lost business account.

    It’s a clean, strategic, affordable hotel with just enough amenities in the room. No need to worry for mineral water because their are a water dispenser in each room. Something you find in another hotel near Orchard.

    WORST EXPERIENCE EVER !!! The front office staffs behavior was very bad as even want to increase price every two days, even though I was staying there since a week. Atlast I said this is too much to the lady and then she ask me to leave if cannot pay. I never had this bad experience in any other hotel in singapore. NEVER SUGGEST FOR ANYONE.

    Room is good and spacious for a central hotel. But it is filled with tour guests so the place feel like a good motel. Breakfast sucks…i couldnt eat anything. Kids like the pool a lot. Wifi is not free and very expensive. Overall, it gets you a good sleep and decent service but nothing spectacular…

    Nice hotel. Very neat and clean. Metro is also very near to hotel. You can go by walk.

    Food is quite good. We’d breakfast over there. Street food is also available nearby.

    Small and average size room. Bathroom is too small. Which is common in Singapore’s almost hotels. So don’t expect lavish and large size property.

    Absolutely terrible.. rooms are dirty and not maintained. The bed linen didn’t get changed even when we spent 4 days there. Our room was supposed to be a deluxe with big bed. This was not the case. The bathroom was dirty. Staff were really unhelpful. We paid more for this hotel than any other hotel we have stayed at during our 3 week holiday to Coron, manilla, bali, This place was our final destination at the end of our holiday. It ruined our holiday. Rude staff. Not wanting to help at all. Would not recommend this establishment to anyone.

    Don’t be scared of the bad reviews. I was worried about it but I was wrong. It really was not bad at all. Very good deal for the location of this hotel. Not luxurious but definitely still comfortable and clean. Room is not big but it’s just alright especially if you’re only using the hotel to sleep in at night. Very good location. Near MRT station and shopping malls along Orchard road. Highly recommend this. Fast internet. Water dispenser in the room.

    It’s all about the location and price. The hotel is bang on Orchard, and is really value for money.
    The rooms are nice and cover all the basics.
    The management has spent on renovation of the rooms, but the cleaning/service staff really let this place down. So don’t wear your glasses, as you will find dirt in the corners.
    I stayed here twice, first time had requested for an early check-in, as was arriving on a morning flight, but got the room only at 3pm. I guess they were really busy and they do mention the normal check-in time as 3pm.. so it’s ok I guess. But as had landed since morning, wanted to use the toilet and the ones in the lobby were really unkept and in a total mess. After finally getting the room at 3pm, the toilet in the room had no toilet paper! And they made me wait for 2hrs, till almost 5pm, as the room service could not have it arranged!! Really it was one wasted day, and all thanks to the hotel.
    The second stay was much better. Got a better room, and yes it had toilet paper.. so yay!!

    One thing I know for sure is instead of changing clean sheets and pillows they SWITCH THEM WITH ANOTHER BEDS.
    This hotel is good value but I would not recommend, this hotels rooms come with broken TVs, broken light switches so you have to turn all power off to sleep at night, the worst breakfast imaginable consisting of fried noodles, chips and dry toast, but lastly the service was extremely bad, with rude people at the desk. The only reason this hotel has 3 stars is for its location.
    Lastly the hot water machine that is provided in each room doesn’t function and boils it’s self in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT waking you up from your sleep.

    Been to a few budget hotel in Singapore, have to say this took the longest time to check-in.

    Got a shocked when I went up to the room and realized all hotel rooms door on the corridor are opened on the 4th floor. It seems that the rooms are just cleaned at about 4-5pm. When we enter the room without using our card key, we were even upset that they have given a twin bed for me and my husband. We went down to the reception, asked for a change. The staff (skinny Indian man) immediately outright rejected my husband request. Reason bcos the rooms are fully booked. However, we have seen some rooms with double bed are not occupy. My husband demanded for a change and the staff put us to the manager. The lady, took our concerns and went on the computer to search for a room, she found a room on the 8th floor and told us to wait for 15mins as the housekeeping is still in progress. The whole entire check-in experience was pretty bad.

    We went on to the 2nd room assigned and found the TV not working, the guy got it repaired and it’s bcos the remote battery flat. The water leak out from the toilet facet once it’s flushed. Luckily there’s no smelly foul. Else it would turn up really bad.

    Aircon was centric control not really per room basis. During our sleep, the aircon air seems getting thinner and thinner. No wonder some of the rooms have their room slightly opened in the noon for cooler air from the corridor.

    Such a waste as the hotel is located in the heart of Orchard. The services from the hotel could be lifted if every staffs are united.

    A great location but that’s all it has as going for it. We would not recommend it. The bed was hard and too short, the room was very dirty, the air conditioner was mouldy. The rooftop pool has a great view but is surrounded by air conditioner motors so definitely NOT relaxing. The service was below average, the other guests have zero respect for anyone else.

    This is a pretty old hotel located near Orchard area.
    The good: location, close to many things.
    The bad: the room. It still have the smell of old carpet. We got 2 rooms on 4th floor and the even numbered room had okay view of the back street. However, the odd numbered room is awfully dark even at 9AM due to blocked sun light.
    I don’t think I would come back.

    Very nice room with a view from 10th floor. Excellent transfers to airport. Nearly all reception staff were polite and helpful. 100m walk to Orchid Rd and a walk to all nearby places of interest. Breakfast very disappointing with poor choice of food and very disorganized.

    Had a wonderful experience. Room was upgraded to premium even though I was early an hour.

    Check in was super smooth and fast. Customer officer was friendly.

    Room was clean and neat. There was water dispenser for drinking. Both hot and cold.

    Bed was queen sized, shower, locker, iron and cloth hangers are available.

    WIFI password can be found at the TV screen at home menu on the right side.

    Nearby are many shopping malls and food places.

    Basic 3-star hotel, decently equipped rooms. Bed was a little too firm for me. Otherwise a great value, especially considering the location. Shopping and food were all in easy walking distance. Bus stops and subway stations are all within 3 minutes walk.

    Very strong WiFi network. I was able to play rank and stream mlbb at the same time at high quality. Other than that. The room i got is clean but it does looks abit old but its isnt dusty or anything. I got a great decent view. Overall ok experience. Im happy enough.

    The place is centrally located along Orchard road and there’s a nearby hawker area if you’re craving for authentic Singaporean dishes. I would say that this place is value for money and you get what you paid for. Our room is equipped with a filtration system so we have drinking water access 24/7. The breakfast spread is not that impressive, again you get what you pay for. Didn’t have the chance to check out the pool so no review for that. Staff were friendly and helpful with directions and other info needed.

    Bad experience, 1 star.

    – Very convinient only 4-6mins walk to Orchard Gateway, 313 Somerset and Somerset MRT to go to other tourist spots

    -Very hot, room felt like have sauna instead of aircon, couldn’t sleep at all. Very sleepless night
    -Bad view from window, almost no view at all, only can see another building wall right beside me
    -Water dispenser only dispensed warm water despite pressing the cold water option, heated water not that hot, took way awhile before my cup noodles got cooked
    -No bidet
    -Door can’t double lock or use doorguard
    -Called for housekeeping service but rejected twice as needed an item urgently

    Definitely needs improvement for a 3-star hotel

    Rooms nothing to shout of cuz quite old and not well maintained. Service really bad especially room make up, not even bother to replenish anything(towels, tissues and soap) even we skipped the room make over service just by passing us sanitary for replenishment. Musty smell at corridors outside the rooms. Room was pretty small. Swimming pool environment was extremely noisy with ventilators or so. Couldnt even enjoy a peaceful relaxing swim. The hotel title is great Chancellor@orchard but please dont be deceived by it. Quite far away from nearest mtr station also

    Good price and location. Stayed one night between travel plans. We found several boxes of condoms and lube in one of the drawers. The food receipt in the bag indicates it was from September, nearly 4 months ago. Guess cleaning is not a top priority, but you get what you pay for.

    Breakfast was just okay but definitely beats American style continental breakfasts.

    Extremely rude and unpleasant staff. I’m not sure whats the reason behind that. Right when I entered the hotel, I just politely asked about my room check-in details, and the response from a male receptionist there was very rude. His attitude was very bad. No hospitality at all. What do they think about who they are to talk with a new visitor/tourist like that??

    Clean but lacking in everything else. The breakfast buffet is meh. The room is a tight squeeze. The reception desk workers are ill-tempered. The cable TV is like watching YouTube on dialup, it freezes, may be an IP TV. The internet connection does not even come close to 1/10 of what internet connections in Singapore are known for.

    All best of the brands showrooms are at walking distance from the hotel.
    Bugis is less than 2km. However other attractions might not be at walkable distance.

    Big thumbs up for providing water purifier in the room..

    Breakfast could be improved to cater beyond fried rice and noodles each day. Water melon was the only fruit option on all days

    For the price of $180 per night is just no value but “welcome to Singapore” guess thats what you get here now. Room small, musty, TV lacks variety, needs to be updated. Pool area terrible, take ear plugs as noisy as hell right next to air-conditioning units.

    It’s at a good location but if you’re Indian please don’t stay here. Somehow they have an issue with Indians , they are very sweet and hospitable to White people and Asian people but if you’re Indian you will experience pathetic behaviour by the staff, rudeness and arrogance with a lot of visible racism as they aren’t even polite enough to hide the fact that they don’t like your race. My friend got 6 stitches due to a crack in their pool tile , when asked to compensate her instead of being apologetic they were rude and never gave her the compensation or a decent apology. Another friend of mine was spoken to rudely by the staff and when we asked for her superior’s number she very conveniently told us that she doesn’t have a work email and can’t reveal personal
    Information. Lastly, the breakfast is horrible , the service is pathetic. However, if you’re white or “non-Indian” you’ll have an amazing stay here. But dear Indians holiday inn is next door and it’s amazing.

    Just awful. I have stayed at a lot of hotels but this one I could not even stay in for longer then a few hours. Mould everywhere! Room dirty, even took my own antibacterial wipes to wipe down surfaces and dirt was coming up on everything including shower. Do not stay here.

    There are some lapses that can be excused by the fact that this is a 3-star hotel, but to be called a hotel one would expect a basic level of customer service and convenience. This hotel is more likely a guesthouse and perhaps a dormitory at best.

    There was only one check in counter and people were queuing only to be told to come back hours later – this could have been easily avoided if someone checked in with them while they were queuing

    The lady at the counter also said that 85% of the rooms had twin single beds while the remaining 15% had queen beds. Furthermore, most of the 15% was occupied by long term stay guests. This information is not publicly available and even misleading on the Klook platform. It is unfair to a customer like myself who could have chosen hotels based on bed preferences. Terrible.

    Service is dismal and polite questions by me regarding the bed types were not entertained. Instead, they were dismissed and the staff raised her voice at me condescendingly, hoping I would magically understand.

    Would recommend the place for the area and perhaps cost but other than that, camping at East Coast Park seems preferable.

    Never been to a hotel where they don’t allow guests to pass their parking entitlement to their visitors. Well this one didn’t and even if the hotel guests say they are driving, the reception still needs ‘proof’.

    Started with the hotel giving me the wrong room with an excuse that they are fully booked and my only option was to pay more. The next day my room was barely cleaned and in the evening it smelled like cigarettes. I was at a point of wearing a KN95 mask to sleep due to the smell. I asked for an air purifier and for them to check if there is anything burnt, but the security came and accused me of smoking.

    Good location but the staff was not very friendly. Checking in took an hour because their computer was so slow, which only made the desk attendant angrier . The room was clean, albeit moisty and rather small.

    We were not able to get cold water, either from the tap or the water purifier, and the shower had low pressure.

    The rooms are well insulated and we had no issue sleeping. The pool has a nice view, especially on the shower side ; it’s only a bit noisy due to A/C.

    Super BAD Hotel in Singapore. Very very disappointing and horrible experience. I don’t recommend at all!!!!!!! Very unprofessional staff. Behaviour is so rude. Breakfast is not good. Room size is so small and dirty. No proper cleaning everyday. Ambiance is also very bad. Overall it’s disgusting.

    Please reconsider if you like to book this hotel. The first time we stay hotel with this bad experience!!!!! We did mention by their hotel manager their hotel policy is if those towel, floor map or bedsheet have any stain, customer will need to pay extra charge for the cleaning fees. Unless customer can clean all the stain by themselves. Even if the stain can be remove easily by clear water!!!!! Which mean to say you pay the room but you can’t get their service and you requested to help them clean their towel or floor map if you make any stain on it!

    even though i am aware of the covid situation that might affect service management.

    but i was worse that i expected!!

    1. the room was very smelly
    2. the only elevator that can reach the swimming pool is out of order. the staff said that it needs 4 hrs to fix this issue.
    3. the swimming pool was very dirty. every bin is full of trash / the shower floor is coverd by dirt and algae / the pool seems like havent clean for months
    4. the receptionists and operators were not helpful at all
    5. i asked the operator for new towels at 8am then we go out for 4 hours expecting that towels will arrive when we come
    back. but it didn’t so we called operator again and what she said is “i already informed them” we came down to the recpetion to bring the towels by ourself but they cannot manage that so we had to come back to the room to wait and wait…..

    Poor service, both Front office and coffee shop

    I was really disappointed about this hotel services, both front office (took over 10 minutes for my check-in) & restaurant staff was very lay back and no passion at all, perhaps hotel received many Asia group, I saw many Vietnam and Korean during my stay, those are inexperience travelers cause a lots of trouble to the hotel, which made staff became very inpatient in services.
    Hotel hardware is fine and location is next to Orchard road (but we required to pay extra charge as with CBD area).
    No interest to stay or recommend friend to this hotel.

    Pathetic behaviour of staff. Rooms are small.
    Staff is rude all the time. Reception people are not good behaviour. Very rude. I don’t suggest this hotel to any1.
    No early check in. They made us for 6 hours.
    Also they are awe fully racist as they have in check in’s to Non- Indians.

    The house-keeping staff is also very rude. They locked our room without our permission and post which were very rude on requests to open the room since both our keys were in the Room. They cleaned our room without our permission.
    They troubled us asking for our IDs and Passports.

    If there is a 0 star rating, I would rate our stay at Hotel Chancellor 0. So many unpleasant experiences happened on the very first day, let me try to write the events that took place in the shortest possible way…

    It started off with my husband booking a deluxe room with double bed, but was told during check-in that the deluxe rooms with double beds are not available, as the hotel is full. We were asked to pay to upgrade to a premium room.

    Well, we entered the room at level 9, and the bathroom smelt of urine. The smell was unbearable and my husband decided to request for a room switch at the reception counter.

    We were given a set of new room keys at level 10, and so we make our way up hoping it’ll be a nice clean room. To our surprise when we enter, we noticed we have entered a room that had someone else’s belongings (luggage, shoes, etc). Without examining the room and try to find out if there’s anyone already in the room, we quickly closed the door and make our way to the reception at level 1. The room was occupied, and the hotel had duplicated a set of keys for us, the reception’s justification is that the room was indicated as unoccupied in their system. This is scary; the thought of our room keys possibly duplicated and given to another hotel guest, came across our minds.

    The reception staff did issue a new set of room keys and personally brought us to another room at level 10. It was an empty room and finally, we could settle down in the room.

    The first night of our stay started pleasant, until the phone started ringing in the middle of the night. It was 4am! The hotel techincian had called to asked if we had complained that our aircon wasn’t cold. We were in the middle of our deep sleep!!! Once again, the hotel had messed up the records or mixed us up with the guest who called to complain.

    These chains of events did not turn better up till the checkout. The payment of the Carpark parking was delayed as reception staff was untrained and not familiar with the procedure.

    It was an unpleasant stay at the hotel overall!

    Good location, close to Orchard Road snd Somerset MRT, very convenient for shopping and dinning. The drinking water machine in the room is excellent. You can have hot water or icy water instantly. Lack of waiters at breakfast, nobidy clean the table, no refill of food.

    Awful place. If it’s for work maybe you can survive the couple of days you need to stay there for, but anyone coming for pleasure I’d highly recommend finding other accommodations.

    Here’s a few cons to consider

    -Actively monitoring to see who’s going to your room
    -No fitness center
    -Service line never provides the things you need. I asked for soap so many times, it will literally take an hour before someone goes to help you.

    If you must stay here you’ll survive. But for the price it was a highly unpleasant experience.

    Nice and cozy hotel for travellers that are on a budget. The twin room is a bit small but can be expected given the price we paid. We were able to fit our little family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids aged 7 and 5) quite nicely. You’ll only need the room to sleep and bathe in anyway as the hotel is located at the heart of the city. Finding places to eat and shop are just a stroll away. I would definitely consider staying here again.

    My review could be slightly biased, because some Korean artists were visiting ION during my weekend stay there (my point is that during days with no events at Orchard road, which is kinda rare, then the experience staying at this hotel could be significantly better). This hotel is kinda old. Rooms were also extremely small (both our rooms were super small) even though we paid over 200 bucks per night. I am aware that we paid for the location, but our experience staying at this location turned out to be quite saddening. The traffic is really bad, it took our taxi slightly more than 10 minutes to come out from our hotel drop off point to the main Orchard road ($$$ ⬆️⬆️⬆️ per minute waiting). Grab rides were super expensive ($18 from this hotel to Plaza Singapura due to super high demand at this area). Otherwise, basic necessities were all provided up to (or even over) the expectations of a 3-star hotel. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. No fancy facilities provided. I did try to ask to borrow an umbrella for 10 minutes (not that I am entitled, fully aware that the employees have no obligation to go out of the way to help customers), but was told they couldn’t do it. This is experience is nowhere bad, but it simply could have been much better (or maybe our expectations were too high considering the amount we paid for). If I were to repeat my weekend, I would have chosen another hotel across the building or even somewhere further like at Citi Hall or Bugis.

    Unfriendly staff, smelly hotel room, dark hallways, hotel located near a club — couldn’t sleep for the whole two nights I stayed there — wifi was not working at all on the first day, only provided 1 “soap slash shampoo” gel thingy, house keeper kept bothering me in the morning wanting to clean my room at 8:30 AM while I was still in the shower. Honestly, if I could give 0 stars I would.

    Well basically uncooperative and bad organisation. Asked for my room information but didnt get any. Dont know what they are being told but I should get basic information regarding my room. Other minor things like tvs or telephone Not working but basically not okay. The hotel stuff is not carring enough at least they know from which country they should learn now! Try to love your work and dont forget to greet your guest with a smile.

    Very annoying experience was the receptionist at lobby. Was it so hard for you mam to be nice? Were you got so satisfied for being rude and unpolite to your guests? Did you have your own problem or your character itself is rude?
    Can you be a bit nice.. with smile and happiness serving your guests. You eat salary from guests do you?

    I will rate the location 5 star. But service is 1 star. The receptionist Benny is extremely rude and mean. He and another lady at the reception didn’t give me a room despite there being empty rooms. She didn’t let me check in before 3 pm. They are not at all flexible with the check in. Don’t believe the reviews which said they will let you check in before 3 pm. Another problem is cleanliness. The bedsheet was extremely dirty and had a dirty big spot, bedsheet was not changed despite room cleaning multiple times. Proof attached

    1. Indian people Don’t stay in this there is no one listing Indian people very bad experience on this hotel I will stay 9 July to 12 July. I am sufaring from full of water wash basing 2 days I told 4 Chinese people in reception counter every time they say me ok I do that cleaning girl but not done then after I click photo of that wash basing and go to that reseption counter and told know this photo post in your hotel reviews and that time that one Indian person call plumber and repair that basing.
    2. There is no more options vegetarian food only bread butter/ one item sanks and watermelon not anything in vegetarian food non veg is so much items but Indian people they don’t have

    Very disappointed. Only big thing about the hotel is its reception area. Rooms are freakingly small. Long walk to reach the lifts. They would cut off wifi as well. And staff in the restaurant! They just live in their own world. They just not only disrespect you, they treat you like some beggars of the street. Breakfast items are limited knowing people from all the countries are coming to stay at the hotel. Disappointment.

    The location is good and the room is decent. However, the internet sucks and the water dispenser does not dispense cool or hot water, just lukewarm water. When we complained abt this, the staff on the phone did not help and just told us to restart the internet, did not complain abt the hot water as the staff wasn’t that helpful in the first place. Overall, this is an overpriced hotel and I won’t return.

I also liked the fact they have a washing machine and dryer downstairs to do laundry as we stayed there for 2 weeks. location very convenient. Came as a couple and I would love to stay here again .

    Miserable experience. Zero customer service. Extremely money minded. You have to carry your own luggage since all porters are way past their retirement age. Rooms aren’t cleaned properly. AC doesn’t work despite 3 separate maintenance requests in 5 days. Rooms were empty by they still didn’t allow us to check in early despite us offering to pay extra – had to wait at reception for 5 hours for checkin. Bathrooms are stinking with fungus all over bath curtains. Lights in room either don’t work or are very dim.

    The pictures on google looks nothing like the hotel. Me and my family planned on staying there for 5 days but we moved to another hotel on the third day. Small space, bathroom really needs improvement, in the bathroom i spotted moles on the side of the showeroom. Breakfast is even worse, you only get fried noodles, bread, sausage and egg, and they dont even cook the sausage properly and the noodle is so oily, your not eatting the noodles your eatting the oil instead. First and last time staying there. Horrible!

    Nice clean bright rooms. Water in the shower goes from boiling to freezing in one secone and back. Very hard to take a shower that will not burn you or freeze you. The pool on the roof is very nice but very loud with giant airconditioning engine just by the pool. Great location. Close to Orchard and 2 subway stations.

    The room was not thoroughly cleaned. Found some clothing left by previous guest behind the chair. Breakfast options are a bit lacking. The on-site washer and dryer looks old and unreliable. Convenient location in between 2 MRT stations – Somerset & Dhoby Gaut. Shopping malls are within walking distance and great variety of restaurants to choose. If you need to shop for snacks or drinks, there’s a 7-Eleven within walking distance and there’s a supermarket (Cold Storage) in Plaza Singapura (where Dhoby Gaut MRT station is).

    Singapore is small, space is crunched and precious so are the Hotels. But its a beautiful place to stay situated in the heart of Sing. Its typically crowded as its economical and you will always find a lot of Indian, Chinese tourist staying there. The restaurant is pretty crowded during the breakfast time as breakfast comes free with the accommodation.

    Affordable rooms! We had a Vacation or a Holiday here in Singapore. When we arrived to the hotel the room we got was good! They maked up our room when we arrived back to our room. Friendly staff as well. This hotel also has a small store, and a restaurant in the lobby area. Their pool is ok and has a view @ The Orchard Road. This hotel has many stores nearby. Good rooms at a cheap price.

    The staff that I dealt with were great. 5 stars to Mary who was so helpful!!

    The rooms were good space, we rearranged the beds and it became bigger. The carpet color hid any dirt on it.

    They had the inbuilt water dispenser. They need to put something on the table below it to help sap up any spills. Also the cold water was the same as room temp.

    Had one spoon which was not replaced when it broke.

    Bathroom was basic which is all you needed except we were given 1 toilet roll for a day. *nuff said*

    Breakfast was good except juices were watered down and serviettes were bolted at main table. Does this place have a shortage with tissues?

    Overall, for its location, the price was ok.

    The hotel itself is old but not too bad for its price being in a prime location. We booked two adjoining rooms for 4 nights as we were travelling with 3 kids. We were out most of the day during the trip.
    Despite having no proper restaurant and lobby for the guests, the bell men were so helpful and friendly as well as the front desk crew. There is one duty manager named Mary who attended us when we arrived from the airport after barely 8 hour flight, and I bet she is the rudest I have encountered in the hospitality industry. In the last 20 years of travelling and staying in different hotels in Europe , Middle East, Australia, and Asia, no one can beat this lady

    The room is fairly small. I got into two beds room and those beds are not ideal for those who move around a lot during their doozie off. Water is not problem and the room is clean. Breakfast didn’t look appetizing but it is acceptable. No trolley or helping staff for caring luggage.

    Close to 2 MRTs and accessible to lots of malls within the Orchard area. However, the bed and pillows were uncomfortable, the toilet was too small including a bathtub. The water pressure was also weak.The carpet feels like it hasn’t been vacuumed in weeks.

    Early check in is possible. The check in time was 3 pm, but we arrived at 1 pm and we’re permitted to check in.

    I had a room with a hot shower and bathtub. There were 2 towels and 2 little towels. There were hairdryer and iron too. The amenities were completely good.

    The bed had wheels to move it, so my daughter could possibly have ballet practice here.

    For the cleaning service, they knocked our room at 11 am. But because we’re not ready yet, my husband told the cleaning staff to wait for 10 minutes before we left. Unfortunately, the room were not cleaned I don’t know maybe the cleaning staff forgot. But we’re okay because we left not so much trashes in the room.

    However, we had a quiet good experience staying here

    The hotel like any other is a bit space constraint. The rooms are a bit small and our view form the room was not much to be cherished. The room cleaning gets a full 5 star, however, the food choices were not good and almost same stuff on a daily basis for 3 days of stay. However, all good places are near by and this hotel is located at a very good juncture. For Indian travellers, Little India is a but off, approx. 2.6 km or approx. S$10 in a cab.

    Very bad experience. The staff at the hotel don’t care about the service they provide. One was particularly rude and unpleasant. When I had an issue with the shower at about 8pm+, hotel concierge asked me rudely why didn’t I call earlier & therefore can’t do anything about it. Does that mean I’ve to take showers on her whim and fancy? Hotel concierge told me they are unable to provide cotton buds, a basic toiletry for most hotels. The first room I was assigned to had the aircorn remote, fridge, phone, plug socket spoilt. The 2nd room I was assigned to was slightly better but aircon remote was still non-working. One day they forget to send breakfast to me & I received 2 meals upon lunch time.

    The room size is just nice to accomodate 2 adults and 2 young boys. The staffs are attentive,helpful and friendly. There is also nearby hawker centre, laundry, 7 eleven, 10 minutes walk to all the malls in orchard road and not to forget mrt stations are close as well. Ill will definitely stay here again in the future.

    Pros: hotel is affordable and located conveniently near MRT and orchard road. Generally clean and modern looking.
    Cons: had two blankets swapped due to what looked like blood stains. Room has damp musky smell, and does not cool down.
    Worst of all: there are several night clubs near by that blast horrible music out of their doors and can be heard all night. Woke up at 4 am on a Wednesday because of club.

    Check in on 23rd January for staycation. Quite disappointed the staff service no greeting for their guests. When we asked for the latest check out reluctant to inform us. Room are small even toilet/bathtub too. Location wise good can find many shopping malls n foods in the area. Luckily staying one night. It will be my first n last wouldn’t return back this hotel AGAIN. Feedback : the management of Hotel Chancellor need to send all their staffs to re-train for customers service course.

The receptionist on the front desk are really kind and helpful. Impressed with the facilities this hotel has. I will definitely come back here for another staycation at Hotel Chancellor @Orchard.

    We were on a holiday. We booked and paid for double deluxe rooms but they did not allot us the same. No reason was given except ” We are fully booked”. Rooms are small. All rooms are the same size if one carefully goes through the photos.Rooms are not cleaned throughout the stay. They refuse early check in and late check out, so we had to spend almost 5 hours in the lobby. the lobby was small. The Breakfast was awful. They served the buffet restrictedly. The dining room / restaurant was very small. Room service was awful. They never turned up. Our rooms were 550, 551,553. I will not recommend this for a holiday. Reception and housekeeping do not match that of a 3 star hotel. They do not match to the standards of a 3 star hotel. I wonder if their claims are correct

    Worst place ever stayed at. Book 2 rooms for 1n half nights. 2nd evening had an early flight back to Australia.

    Room with twin beds for mother n brother was a complete disaster and an embarrassment for us.
    The toilet in the bathroom smelt heavily of urine. Management sent housekeeping to clean.
    An hour or two later, our brother complained that the drainage in the bathroom is blocked and water wasn’t draining out, so he stood in dirty water to complete his shower.
    Went downstairs to reception to raise the matter.
    Whilst waiting for duty manager to complete serving his customer but who had earlier heard our complain regarding the urine stench in the bathroom; decided to avoid us; walked away to park himself at the other end of the reception desk, standing there watching customer activities in the foyer.
    Finally spoke to the staff member who had earlier checked us into our rooms, maintenance was asked to come check the issue.
    Third complain was water from the vanity basin wasn’t draining.
    This was all too much for my elderly mother, in her late years, just arrived and tired from the traveling.
    Also noted and made known to maintenance officer that other side of the bathroom wall where the 1st bed is, shows signs of water marks having seeped onto the carpet beside the bed.
    Seemingly, this hotel is extremely outdated and requires urgent renovations and upscaling

    Worse customer service and hotel I’ve stayed at. Receptionist staff were rude and unapologetic. When we checked in they didn’t even give us hand towels and when asked the staff said that they didn’t supply hand towels to those staying on the fifth floor only floors higher up?! Toilet paper also wasn’t supplied and had to ask for more which the staff rudely gave us attitude. The day after our room wasn’t even cleaned! We called down to see if someone from house keeping could come up and clean our room and give us fresh towels they said they wouldn’t be able to do it til late at night and that they don’t supply fresh towels??? Absolutely won’t be coming back here. Save your money and book somewhere else.

    The hotel is strategically located close to Orchard Road, the MRT station and the bus stop. easy access to the airport.
    The receptionist I met was very kind and very helpful, but I didn’t know about the other receptionists.
    The rooms are quite comfortable, there is free hot and cold drinking water. Because I booked a room without breakfast and had to find my own place to eat, the hotel is close to a food court, including for Muslims not to worry because there are some halal restaurants also not far from the hotel. For those who want to come to the hotel before checking in can leave their luggage, as well as after checking out but still want to go around Singapore can leave their luggage at the hotel for free.
    Overall I like this hotel and I will return with consideration that the location is quite strategic

    Probably a 3.5. Small rooms. 3/4 bath shower. Ok for two regular sized westerners but if you are on the larger size then you’ll find it hard to wash. Lots of tour groups come through here. Breakfast is average. Beds are shorter than normal for a western standards. Great value for money and well located to transport.

    Clean hotel. Walking distance to MRT and Orchard, about 5 mins. Nice staff. They are so thoughtfull and gave me room near elevators so that my toddler doesn’t need to walk to far. Spacious room compared to other hotel in SG. But bathtub could be a bit higher for elderly person, so request the one without it. Warm water for bath also get too cold and too hot by itself. Room has water dispenser, so you could get hot water to make coffee or tea in a second. Overall great experience, value for money!

    2nd visit, not as pleasant as the first one. Roof top pool and good view of the istana garden and partial city scape view. Carpark is 10 dollars for the whole day. Wifi was decently fast. Was a sharp smart TV. It could surf net but it was quite slow. Room is reasonably decent with fridge and deposit Box. 711 is 3min walking distance. Reasonably near from mrt but it is still a 5min walk. Quiet room. What was lacking was the check in service is abit slow.

    I am currently staying in the Hotel Among my fellow 100 Indian Passengers. This hotel is the worst hotel I have seen, No amenities in Room like Tea coffee make, comb, shaving kit or dental kit. Breakfast is only Chinese oriented and when asked to arrange Two Indian Dishes they said they can’t, not even for a group, Only Star it is getting because of Wonderful check in assistance given by Mr. Satish from Group Check in Help desk. If you are willing to take a chance to experience Horrible excuse on the name of Hotel Industry just come in. Specially they are treating Indians like they are slum dwellers. I mean a smile or courtesy face is good enough but instead we see stone cold faces.

    I will change the review if I see something positive tomorrow

    The hotel is quite comfortable and clean. The bedroom is not too spacious, but is well-maintained. In the bathroom no toothbrush and toothpaste are provided. Dispensers are available with unlimited water stock. There is a swimming pool on the top floor which is quite spacious. The restaurant is quite extensive with limited food variations. The hotel location is close to shopping. # Welcome to visit.

    Hotel is situated in good location.
    .Rooms of hotel is too good … Behaviour of staff was good .. u can enjoy swimming at top of the hotel in terrace …. U can enjoy the outside views from your room … Everything u want find easily near to hotel ..
    Worse thing that I find in hotel is bathroom .. it’s too small and also Indian Gujarati breaking was worsest … Never take breakfast from the hotel

    Staff enter the room without ringing door bell. When giving feedback to receptionist, receptionist do not take the feedback seriously. I doubt there will be any action for improvement.

    Excellent. Superb.
    Food wise it is mainly Asian food.
    Cleanliness is top notch and room are quite spacious.
    Swimming pool is amazing.
    Overall best experience in this hotel

    Went to counter the day before check out to book a taxi next day 7.30am. They said ok. Next day at 7.30am we went to tell the reception we’ve booked our taxi and ask for updates. We were told off that reception doesn’t book taxi in advance for anyone. So she asked if we still wanted a taxi, of cos we said yes. Then the previously booked taxi came, and she was so annoyed she asked if we still want this taxi. So much confusion and lack of coordination at the front desk. So rude staff. And every night there’s problem with all of our cards we couldn’t access the room. Room has musky smell. Apart from the excellent location and cheap price, don’t expect anything else.

    The room is just normal, they provide every basic needs, they have the very good water dispenser which serve cold and hot water. The shampoo they given is usable for both hair and body. Other than all these, the bed is quite comfortable which I slept for 2 nights.

    We requested for early check in for rooms as we had kids but they said they r booked. As soon as someone else asked for early check in with charges, the rooms were empty and available. The most pathetic place and services ever. No extra blanket available.. they asked to charge for my friend’s 4 yr old daughter coz she had more height !!!! R U CRAZY !!!
    Never recommended .
    Especially MAKE MY TRIP needs to take a note of it and not book such pathetic hotels

    Pretty standard hotel with this price range in Singapore, the only plus point is the location. However, in my experience, they need to do something about hygiene of the common areas. Overall fairly accessible to public transports (bus stops and MRT).

    Most everything was good. Nice rooms, clean. Good friendly service, The receptionist remembered us which is no small feat when considering how many guests they accommodate.
    My only gripe is that the breakfast is a bit canteen style and with limited options. We stayed for 4 days and felt we should eat out for 1 day to get a bit of variety.
    They seem to cater to large tour parties so perhaps that is why.
    Overall, I think it was well located, reasonably priced and offered good service. I would go back again, but maybe not choose the breakfast.

    Bad experience since first step.
    Counter assistance use Indian English too fast for foreigner without… friendly and helpful attitude. I come here alone but she took no effort to offer me a room with single bed.
    The lobby is too small, dark and old, just like I’m in a market place.
    I don’t know why the charge is so high (without breakfast).
    I may never comeback here again. I’m so worry about next 3 days staying here.

    Stayed at this place last week. Affordable stay and quite value for money at the heart of orchard. Room is well kept but slight wear and tear. If you need fuss free accommodation with convenient location and good price I will recommend this place.

    I stayed here for 2 nights and to say we had a terrible experience would be an under exaggeration. On day 2 we left the hotel early to explore, came back hours to later to find someone had used our shower, left water all over the bathroom and used the toilet – without flushing. We immediately asked the hotel to check security footage to see who had entered our room and were told ‘the only ones who entered were the cleaners and I guess they didn’t do a good enough job’. This wasn’t a matter of not cleaning properly – they USED our toilet and shower whilst they were meant to be cleaning and didn’t even clean after them selves. The hotel staff handled the matter shockingly by simply saying ‘oh it’s in the manager report so it will be passed on’. I would not recommend this hotel or its staff at all.

    The room was OK but the housekeeping did not change the bed sheet nor did they refill the amenities and wash the mugs. I do not recommend the breakfast as well, the location is superb, walks away to Orchard Road so it’s better to find someplace else to eat. The hotel is 10minutes walking to Somerset MRT or Dhoby MRT.

    The staffs were friendly, but overall, if you find comfort, I dont recommend this place.

    10 mins walking distance from somerser mrt and Orchard area. Plenty of eatery around. Room is just nice but floor is a bit dusty.

    One of the main perks of this hotel is that it has a rooftop swimming pool. Unfortunately, the rooftop pool is closed until further notice. There was no information anywhere that their pool is closed. This was one of the main reasons we booked this hotel.

    We are a group of 6 so we booked 3 rooms and none of the room were in a working order.
    The first room had a problem with blinking lights so within the first minutes of check in we already had to call the maintenance guy to fix the light.
    On the second and third room we had issues with the TVs didn’t work, the bathroom door on the third was stuck and can not be slide close fully so there is a 15 cm gap for the whole world to see you doing your bathroom businesses.
    The peak of everything was when we came back to the hotel after a long day sightseeing the rooms weren’t being done or not entirely being done. The tea bags weren’t replaced and TVs weren’t working so when I picked the phone to ring the receptionist NO ONE answer the phone??!!!!!
    So I had to drag myself to go downstairs to ask for the tea bag so I can finally have a good rest.
    These issues were quickly resolve after complaining at the receptionist however the following day, there still isn’t anyone attending the phone.
    Special mention to the other quests on the same floor as us and who wer SUPER LOUD! Playing music on full blast and talking on the hotel hall but the hotel seems to be lacking of staffs to handle these issues. I even saw dried vomit in the lifts area that stayed overnight, disgusting!!
    I give credit to its location and its price which is considered reasonable but still not cheap (@$140/night/room) as well as the fact the room is well soundproofing however I wouldn’t go back here if I have to pay for that price again. Total disappointment.

    Really disappointed this trip our 5th in total
    Place was dirty, our rooms weren’t ready despite paying for the previous night
    Rooms we were out in had not had beds changed
    Breakfast was appalling Western customers not catered for at all
    Think rice noodles, fried noodles and bread pudding when all we needed was cereal and toast (which amazingly was available this morning our last morning)
    1 towel each ever 2 days to use for both showers and pool .No toiletries at all
    To top this all off reception staff were terribly rude
    We will not be back .

    One of the worst stay ever. Rooms were old and small size. No Room service. Breakfast served like prison food chucked everything in 1 plate. Staffs were not friendly at all. The only good thing about this place is the check in/out was smooth and the location. Nothing else to shout about. Not worth the price you pay at all. Just add in another $50-$100 to get better hotel.

    Very disappointing–the room and facilities were grossly overpriced for what we received. Hallways, restaurant and hotel in general were shabby and not very clean. Would not return.
