Not sure which hotel 81 was it but it was near lorong 14.. i was just asking for directions and the person at the reception replied with “HOW I KNOW?” Stayed in this hotel 10 years ago and the people were okay but I guess things are different now.. the person was so rude and for that im rating 1 star

The location of the hotel is not suitable for families with small children or women. Because there is a group of foreigners sitting on the sidewalk along the corridor leading to the hotel (luckily, traveling with two male friends). Anyone who comes to this area must study and find information carefully before entering the area as well. The last time I still counted that I was fortunate in many things and did not encounter any bad events. and return safely. I haven’t kept any photographic evidence. because it is not a beautiful picture, just tell me in writing instead

Very small rooms and are not upto the value that you are paying. Don’t forget to take your key before leaving the room. It closes automatically and gets locked. You might get locked outside if you leave the key in the room by accident. You can also smell termites in the room. It is about 750 meters away from the nearest metro station. You also get two small water bottles per day for a room and have to pay extra if you ask for more bottles.

Clean and comfy bed but with NO bidet. This place is just Ok for a night to sleep. Anyhow, we are out the whole day for tours.

Decent place setvice was okay too
At the reception the staff was very nice and accommodating, the room was superficially clean under the beds there was all hair if you put a chair aside there was also dust and hair, the air conditioning in the room was always on full power, you could also use it don’t turn it off because then the whole room got so damp that the water ran down the walls you could only open the window so that it got a bit warmer, in the six days I was there there wasn’t even room service.
An der Rezeption das Personal war sehr nett und zuvorkommend,das Zimmer war oberflächlich sauber unter den Betten lagen über all Haare wenn man einen Stuhl beiseite stellte war dort auch Staub und Haare, die Klimaanlage im Zimmer ist immer auf volle Leistung gefahren man konnte sie auch nicht ausschalten denn dann wurde der ganze Raum so feucht das das Wasser die Wände runtergelaufen ist man konnte nur das Fenster öffnen so das es ein bisschen wärmer geworden ist ,im Zimmer ist in den sechs Tagen wo ich dort war wurde nicht einmal Zimmerservice durchgeführt.

Didn’t expect to have a such a bad experience in a country like Singapore. The receptionist was so rude and gave a very bad room. It was so tiny and uncomfortable. Also the bedsheets were rusty and not clean. Our room which was in the 5th floor had a weird smell and receptionist specifically mentioned that they don’t clean the rooms daily. Not recommended this place for a good and peaceful time.

It’s a nice (small) hotel in a red light district. I stayed for 3 nights and there were no big problems.
1. Receptionist were very nice! They allowed us to get an early check-in with no charge at all (we arrived at 1PM). They speak English nicely.
2. Rooms are small (this is real). There are in-room bathroom, some welcome drinks, hairdryer, telephone, and hangers.
3. TV was okay but the remote was like in the picture lol
4. We actually requested a non-smoking rooms and we got it. We didn’t smell any smoke in room even though we smelled the smoke in the hallway.
5. I actually put the “please tidy room sign” on the door, but one of the rooms were not get the service the next day I didn’t put it but the room got tidy lol
6. Hotel is in red light district. I can feel the different and see some prostitutes(?) & adult shop lol

Cannot even consider this as a Hotel. Untidy, dusty, smelly and I believe nobody cares about the cleanliness and even the their staff doesn’t care. How could you run your hotel without supervising your service and not even checking how thick the dust in the room? The good thing is that we only stayed for 1 night, otherwise I cannot resist sleeping in a messy room. Very disappointing!! Not recommendable!!!

I stayed at the Hotel 81 Geylang for two nights and it was a great experience. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. The location is great, just a short walk from the MRT station and with plenty of food options nearby. I would definitely stay here again.

The front desk staff were very nice. The rate is very low. I came here for a day’s layover due to misconnection. The cab driver warned me about being out at night since the street is known well for prostitution (legalized and probably not dangerous). The room is very tiny and basic with old cabinets and furnishing, a hard bed and perfectly terrible pillows. It appears to be clean and the shower was warm but not hot. There is no place to put your toiletries except a small corner rack by the sink and the toilet. There is no chair to sit in so if you are computing, you will be sitting on a very hard bed. It is so small that it’s difficult to squeeze between the bed and desk to reach the closet, which you can better reach from sitting in the bed. There is air conditioning and it works fine. There is no bedside lamp and the light controls are by the entry door. There is no shower curtain, no hand towels and no bath mat. Just two bath towels. The toiletry amenities are two toothbrushes. Shower and hair “lotion” is located on the wall in the tub area. Not really sure if it IS lotion or soap. One wouldn’t use lotion in one’s hair, would they? I was lucky that it was peaceful, as I could hear whatever went on in the halls or maybe in close-by rooms. I paid only $45 USD for this room in an area where the hotel prices generally are as high as in SFO. There is no shuttle so it will cost $20 SGD each way between hotel and airport. I probably wouldn’t stay here again. For the little time I can sleep on such a hard bed, I might just pay for the airport lounge sleeping rooms.

Very dirty and dusty… Jutex is gone, if you take the bus from Seven Eleven in front of the road, you can go straight to Bugis, bus No. 2. If you want to go back, take bus No. 63/80, get off dilor 20. Walk straight to the right back to the hotel.

It’s neither great nor bad. Congested tiny room. I don’t like the bathroom, no space between shower, toilet, and sink. Just let you know, If you try to avoid this hotel because of red light area, then don’t worry about it. Since all red light district activities are inside designated buildings, You do not feel anything like that, it’s just a regular place. Nothing inappropriate.

We booked this hotel online and thought that we have done one of the best deal for our stay. But things were completely opposite after checking-in the hotel .
The room was very small, even the washrooms were having the space only for standing up straight. Somehow we managed in the space provided.
But the worst part was Staff behavior. At night approx 10.30pm, we asked them for water bottle and extra bedding at reception. its been approx 35 mins, then we called again. The guy recieved the call and said “I already said you, YOU SHOULD WAIT FOR IT”, although it was around 11.15 pm night.
After waiting for next 15 mins, we went directly to the reception and the reception guy was just said the same thing again “you have to wait for 45 mins”, IN completely RUDE MANNER. and Finally we received the requested things after 12 am midnight.
It was a disappointing stay with them .

Terrible hotel!
We stayed at the hotel over Christmas, it’s not reasonable in my opinion. It wasn’t clean and the bathroom doesn’t have a separate shower stall so the whole bathroom is flooded when you take a shower. Due to the lack of ventilation, everything there is moldy and it smells accordingly. The location is ok, but it doesn’t make up for the condition. It was noisy at night – from the street and from the hotel itself. The room was also very small, you can’t spread out your luggage (do not leave your suitcase open), and there was no closet anyway. The staff was very nice, but unfortunately that doesn’t help much anymore.

Wir waren über Weihnachten im Hotel, es ist meiner Meinung nach nicht zumutbar. Es war nicht sauber und das Bad hat keine abgetrennte Duschkabine, sodass das gesamte Bad unter Wasser steht, wenn man duscht. Durch die mangelnde Belüftung schimmelt dort alles und es riecht auch dementsprechend. Die Lage ist ok, macht den Zustand aber nicht wett. In der Nacht war es laut – von der Straße und aus dem Hotel selbst. Das Zimmer war außerdem sehr klein, man kann das Gepäck nicht ausbreiten (Koffer nicht offen hinlegen), einen Schrank gab es sowieso nicht. Das Personal war ganz nett, aber das hilft leider auch nicht mehr viel.

It’s hard to find another decent hotel at 60$ during weekends. Similar hotel will cost 100$ at city center. Any cheaper it will be a bunk / capsule hotel. For its price it is okay.
Small windowless rooms, aircon cold, clean enough, and corridors can sometimes be noisy. Close to city and 10 mins walk to Aljunied MRT.
