Cai poh tofu so good. Salted fish fried rice was yummy too. They are generous with the salted fish. So flavourful

A Standard Tzechar Restaurant with air condition. As expected the items are more pricey. $18 for cereal prawn, the prawns are not very fresh but still taste good thanks to the cereal. The prawn is big but there is only 5 pieces !

Service was prompt overall the taste is above avg.

We, as a Korean family, really like chilly crab.So we tried this one here. Price was up to market price in menu. It was 55 SGD per 1 crab(900g), which was enough amount for 2 adults. We ordered another black pepper crab together with same price and amount. All the foods here are basically fantastic and clean. No regrets with affordable price.

Excellent food an affordable price. The prawn paste chicken remains my favourite these years as well as their fried rice.

Ample parking at the back but the route is a bit tricky now with the massive road detour at the area. Can be reached by MRT just have to cross the spooky underpass to the IRAS building and take the route from the back to arrive here.

Very good food, with a strong seafood election. Not the fanciest of spaces, but clean and serviceable. Great service and value for money.

Old school, home style zhi car food. This will be the place I’d love to come for real non pretentious chinese cooking. It will be better to come in a group so enable to order more types of dishes.

Food is nice and price is reasonable. Especially love their fried fish noodle soup. Food is also served fast. Try their assam fish head too. Encouraged to make reservation if going after 6:30pm. The place is usually crowded.

    Great food!
Service a bit lacking hence not 5 star.
Reserve ahead (even weekdays) unless you don’t mind queuing.
Chili and pepper crab are usually on my order.

Good food but nothing exceptional. The service was great though. No one harrass me for food order while I was waiting for my friends. Even after my friends arrived, no one harrassed us to order our food. They attended to us after we called for service. I think it’s worth a visit just to enjoy the good service if you’re around the vicinity

    Completely Great Restaurant!!!!!!!
This one is full with singaporean and famous within local community.
    No tourist at all.
Service is quite good. (Dont expect expensive restaurant type service here)

    1) Prawn Paste Fried Chicken (really goodddd)
    2) MaPo Tofu (love it!!! Tofu also quite a lot and the taste is just perfectly balance. Not really spicy)
    3) HongKong style steam fish (this one really good with very cheap price! Recommended!!!)

A chain tze char outlet which you can find across the island. Though not all outlets serve good food. Affordable tze char fare along novena. Nothing to shout about but its definitely above average. The restaurant was considerably filled on a Sunday night at 8ish when other restaurants were closing for the day.

If you’re in the vicinity and looking for some tze char, I’d recommend this restaurant.

Zichar food that is reasonably priced. The cereal prawn and seafood noodles was good. Forget the coffee pork rib, the meat was tough and too chewy. Service is non-existent. Once they take yr order, it’s hard to get their attention for service. The ambience is very casual.

Highly overrated. If this was a restaurant in Hong Kong I doubt they would have any visitors.

Not bad bad, just very average. Best dish we had was the baby Kai Lan, which was well-prepared and tasty. The rest was a bland mix of averageness.

I’m still sitting at the table and I’m already super thirsty. “May the MSG be with you”, as they say in Star Wars.

Even though I’m non chinese, this place is one of my favourite restaurants for Cantonese cuisine. My go to order is the chicken fried rice and har cheong gai along with the assam fish head curry but instead of fish head I request them to make it with sliced fish. Wok hei of fried rice is amazing and the har cheong gai is crispy on the outside soft on the inside. Fish curry is flavourful, not too spicy and has a good variety of veg in it too.

It is, in my view, reasonably priced and the food is aligned to a family-style of cooking which is good for those who miss family dinners. I will give about 3.5 stars for the value for money and for such a homely environment. However it can get rather rushed and noisy during peak periods and the service gets rushed and that is what I dislike about. However we do usually finish our dinners within an hour and I will appreciate a more leisurely time. There is a variety of food options and I’d usually go for 虾仁蛋, 鱼瓢羹, and 鱼片米粉.

A bit of a bittersweet experience buying from them today. Have been a frequent patron, but got a shock when my small fried rice was $8 before GST. The price increase is a bit too steep for us to continue eating here.

Honestly, we like the food. Most dishes are done well and if you get the chef on a good day, the fried rice is one of the best in the area. Just the right amount of umami and great wok hei. But with a 40% or more increase in price over the last year, we will sadly have to look for other options.

I and my sibling were there at about noon on a weekday. By about 12.30 the place was full and some late comers decided to go elsewhere. I find the food generally ok, although the popular San Lao He Fen has dropped a lot in standard from several years ago. There’s too much starch yet not dry enough; perhaps a consequence of too high traffic. However the chicken in prawn paste is yummy.

Famous for their fish bee hoon, however felt I hv tasted better. Generous portion of veggies and soup, but not the bee hoon and slice fish. For big eater, you may have to order two “L” portions as they only offer “S” and “L”. The rest of their stir fries are generally tasty and reasonable, which pretty much can get it anywhere in Singapore.

I remember there was a period some years ago, when there were quite a few branches all over Singapore. And there were also “variations” of the name. As with most fads, many of these restaurants have since disappeared, but this particular branch still remains, and is very popular. That’s because the food here is very good and tasty, of course.
This is one of my go to places for fried fish bee hoon soup. The soup is thick, milky, smooth, creamy, and filled with flavour. The fried fish and vegetables are generously portioned and tasty.
The 三捞河粉 or Sam Lao Hor Fun, is also delicious. The Hor fun has a light wok hei which makes it even tastier.
One of our favourite vegetable dish here is the French Beans with Minced Meat. The french beans are stir fried perfectly and still retains its crunchiness. The minced meat and mushrooms provide a gorgeous umami boost we could not stop eating it.
Drop by during off peak hours to be assured of a table. It’s definitely worth checking out.

Great food at reasonable price! If you craving for a better zichar, come and try this! For the 5 of us, we ordered most of our dishes in small size and the portion is just nice. Total damage was only $88, quite worth it.

    Must order their:
    -Har Cheong kai
    -Prawn paste balls
    -Hot plate beef
    -Cereal prawns
    -Sweet potato leaf vegetable

A Standard Tzechar Restaurant with air condition. As expected the items are more pricey. $18 for cereal prawn, the prawns are not very fresh but still taste good thanks to the cereal. The prawn is big but there is only 5 pieces !

The furong egg taste crispy and flavorful. The prawn paste chicken was crispy and juicy as well. Service was prompt overall the taste is above avg.

The prices of dishes are nett so that is always great. Food is decent to awesome but ordering their best known are always safe. Their set dinner menu isn’t really worth it, ordering individual dishes of the set menu seem to be cheaper than getting the set menu itself.

Awesome HK style restaurant! Casual and relaxed atmosphere. Service is decent and not overly tight like most restaurants.

Food is very good. Not overly heavy on seasoning as most places and has a very clean taste to let the ingredients speak. Think home cooking with no msg or added salt/sugar…

Har Cheong Gai was perfect! But skip the chili sauce that came with it doesn’t enhance the dish.

Coffee pork ribs was amazing! Fall of the bone while good crisp outside.

Choy poh home made tofu was yums! The nicely crispy choy poh bits gave great saltiness enhance you rice or noodles to go with the meal.

Samba sweet potato leaves great balance of sambal flavor but not overpowering.

Sam lo hor fun was very “clean” and not overly season. Subtly dish to let the fish and wok hei of noodles shine.

Highly recommended and definitely back again soon!

Hearty tzi-char fare. Dishes came in decent sized portions, flavourful but not overly salty…packed with wokhei. Found that their popular ‘sam lo hor fun’ was just average, a little too dry for my liking. Otherwise prices are reasonable (but on the higher end of the scale) and have a good selection of items.
