Yummy! We ordered sliced fish bee hoon (rice noodles) soup, seafood hot fun and crab bee hoon soup. At $38 (enough for two), the crab was solid! The soup had dried scallops, salted fish, a generous serving of fresh bee hoon, and plentiful of Chinese cabbage. We finished the meal with a cup of coffee without milk and a little sugar. So delicious!

We ordered the XO fried fish bee hoon and prawn paste chicken. Wanted to order more dishes but was told have to wait 1hr, except noodles items. We waited for about 40mins before our items came though there were only few tables occupied. The food were indeed tasty but the wait was detering our next visit.

The XO Fish Slice noodles and fish slice soup is great… it is the one that has milk added type, not the clear soup. Even the hor fun is nice, as are the salted fish fried rice. The prawn paste fried chicken is also nicely done. Crowded during meal times, even for takeaway so do order early. You can order via phone.

It’s a zi char stall, walking distance to Eunos MRT. For the price, I have better options nearby.

    Ordered the following:
Prawn paste – 4 quality but almost 4 bucks per chicken wing

XO fish soup – 3.5 slightly above average but I’ve had better. Strong XO smell though

Hor fun and bee hoon – very meh, decent but forgettable 3

Overall, it’s not terrible just the price and location could be better.

Food is good, but expect a really long waiting time even if you are early. The dishes also come out ‘fine dining’ style, one by one for most. Hence, don’t expect a quick meal. Come only if you have at least 1 and half hours to spare and have no qualms waiting.

Like any HK Street Chung Kee – consistent quality and don’t stinger on quantity.
I had Mee goreng, it was moist and large serving. May not be Ponggol Mee goreng standard but flavour ful. Only complaint was the dry and flavourless fish. My family had the fish soup and whilst the soup was excellent, the fish was equally dry. My wife said it’s the same song yu fish that was why it’s dry and flavourless.

Food is good, however, for takeaway, we preordered 1 day before, with staff repeating the order back correctly. However, upon collection, we realized our big fish head soup was not in the food, and asked about it. Staff then nonchalantly said they can only get a small fish head soup now, because they didn’t have enough ingredients for a large one, and we would have to wait 30mins for it (with all our food prepped and ready to go).

Weighing waiting for 30mins for a small fish head soup vs our food turning cold, we decided to take whatever food we had then, clearly disappointed at the missed order. Staff didn’t seem too bothered or apologized once for the negligence. Hence the low ratings mainly for the service.

Had their XO bee hoon, kang Kong and ngoh hiang. The XO bee hoon – not too strong, taste great and refreshing. The kang kong not too spicy and not oily at all. Ngoh hiang combination with fish cracker, first time I tried this combo, I must say not bad at all. Overall I enjoyed my meal very much. If can, avoid going during lunch hours, hard to get a seat.

The restaurant is very busy at around 7pm. Got a table quickly and waited about 45 minutes for the food to be served. The wait was worth it because everything was really delicious (XO Sliced Fish (Fried) Bee Hoon, Crispy Prawn Rolls, Fried Shrimp Paste Chicken and Spicy Four Season Beans). Credit to the serving staff who remained very polite and calm despite the crowd – both dine in and takeaways

The food here is good, really good even. But they are inefficient the kitchen is clearly overwhelmed and the wait staff just don’t seem to bother about attending to customers.

We had ordered ahead of collection (2 hours prior), we still had to wait close to 20 minutes for our order to be ready.

So expect to wait, I did for 2 hours 20 minutes. Deliciousness was kinda worth it I guess. The prawn paste chicken is a hard hitter.

The eatery is my all time favourite when I have no idea on what to eat. I love the fish meat bee Hoon(thick rice vermicelli)soup so much. It is a must order item whenever I am here. The soup is full of Chinese herbs’ essence and the fish you can choose from boiled one or fried one. The fish is generally bigger than other places and it satisfied my taste bud so much.

Another recommendation is the san lo hot fun(three ingredients stir fried with flat noodle). The “wok” flavour is so strong and I love it so much. The bean sprouts and chive are all over the place. The flat noodle is a wide one. It tasted so good.

Another dishes that we always order was the sizzling/ hotplate tofu. Not my favourite my my friends likes it. I didn’t really like something with the thick sauce that you generally saw in almost all the Chinese dishes. But anyways, there were loads of ingredients, broccoli, baby corn, carrot, shrimps, mushroom, onion, egg and of course tofu. The taste is good, just that I don’t like the thick and greasy sauce on TOP of it.

I have always wanted to try the shrimp paste chicken but I am the only one wanna eat and even the smallest portion I won’t be able to finish. I hope they provide a menu that I can order by pieces. So that I will eat two at least

Food is good.. but waiting time is hideous.. always tell u 30 to 45mins wait.. but end up 1hr to 1.5hrs.. they wait for multiple orders or the same dish before cooking it.. usually by the time your last dish come, the ones prepared earlier is cold or finished.

Excellent ‘san lou’ horfun. Large hunks of fresh fish, beansprouts that are not overcooked with just the right crisp mouthfeel, and a large smattering of ‘wok hei’.

In addition, the fish soup and fish head bee hoon are killer as well. Similar to the hor fun above, the fish portions are extremely fresh and generous. Moreover, the intense fish stock is bolstered by the chef spiking the soup with a big swig of XO Cognac, which adds a great depth of flavor, enhancing the seafood aroma of the dish a step further.

SIgnature is fried fish head bee hoon soup. Consistently good. I will also recommend their San Lou Hor Fun as well. Have tried prawn paste chicken, vege dishes, claypot tofu, chicken etc. These although not outstanding were tasty. Prepared to wait during weekend dinner time

Place was so so. Staff service lukewarm. Ordered the fried fish XO bee hoon. Liquor taste very very mild. Chunky fish meat. Fish portion was decent. Lots of vegetables. No fishy smell. A little expensive though.

Food is ok, but surroundings are a tad too grimy. They should look into sprucing up and cleaning up the shop a little.

What surprise me is the big portion of the food that we ordered. With the reasonable price and the excellent food quality, it definitely worth the $$$ to have a meal there. I personally found lemon chicken dish good. will definitely go there again.

Good ventilation. Extremely thick slices of fish in their San Lor Hor Fun and XO beehoon soup. Curry fish head was not bad, creamy and thick curry base. Another outstanding dish would be their cereal prawn. Good prices. Come and try! …

We have the XO fried fish bee hoon noodle soup and the famous fried chicken. The fried fish very fresh and the soup is yummy. One just have a bowl to share with a plate of brocoli and fried chicken we need to pack the fried chicken as too much for 2 ladies. Forgot to take pictures but worth to go. Usually is very crowded and you may need to wait 45 mins. But Sat at 12 noon we went we are able to find still many seats available. Go try before the crowd is back! Btw the San Lau fish slice horfun i tried last time is very nice and quite big portion to be shared by 2 persons.

This coffee shop serve very nice 煮炒. During my first visit here, I order their fish head been hoon. When the dish was served, I was totally shocked by their generous portion of fish head which cover the entire big bowl of bee hoon. It took me a while to eat the fish head before finally get to see the bee hoon below. Usually for stalls selling fish head bee hoon, you probably get a few pieces of fish head. But this is the first and one fish head bee hoon where the amount of fish head is so overwhelming. To be honest, I was already rather full after eating the fish head alone. And the fish head is really fresh and the soup is really tasty. Totally worth the money. For my subsequent visit, I tried their 煮炒 and the dishes are delicious. My advise is to come early if you are coming for dinner so that you don’t have to wait for the seats. Do try it for yourself.

Been eating here for quite a few times. Dishes are well cooked, especially the hokkein mee. Almost all the dishes were well prepared and tasty. Portions are quite big, and good value. Not much in terms of ambience, its just a coffeeshop zi char stall. All our visits were in the afternoon for lunch, where it is less crowded. Heard it is quite crowded at night.

Been dining there for a number of years. Had our reunion dinner there for a few times too. Food quality is always a notch higher than other zi char stores. The staff are always more attentive to elderly people and friendly. It’s my “go-to” zi char place at all times.

Tried both the fish head bee hoon and fish bee hoon. The soup is thick and flavourful, portions are huge and prices are reasonable, very delicious! Only thing to note is that they open at specific timings. We came on a Sunday morning and the place only opened after 11am.
