Cool hipster hotel right next to vibrant night life and shopping. The rooms are all unique with different art and colors.
The breakfast is less impressive from a western perspective with white toast as the only option.

Lousy stay. Hair everywhere, don’t seem like was well kept. Dusty enclosed place, having window can’t open. Seem like some hotels in the 1990s. Genting free hotel is much better than this. Room 105 is my worst nightmare! 8/10 reviews online was fake! Never believe it. Very rude uncle to mend the place.. Pls! Stay away

Amazing boutique hotel in the Kampong glam area. Very high tech and each room had a different theme. One of the rare boutique hotels with a pool. Would recommend to any travellers who want a local feel of Singapore rather than a touristy feel.

It is a very quiet hotel. It is well located and the service is very friendly. Always available. Snacks and coffee, infusions, free water 24 hours and breakfast included. Everything well clean and collected. The pool is small but it is quiet, clean and its floor is made of glass, being able to see the breakfast area, a fact that makes it fun. Just like, from below, it’s nice to see the water on the roof and enjoy the natural light. Small gym available too. Good wifi connection. small library and chill area. Honestly, I like it, I really enjoyed it. I would go back and recommend it.

We stayed in the cloud suite which looked really cool in pictures, but when we got in, it looked a lil different. There was no blue/purple lighting like in the picture. The room was huge and so was the bathtub (let it run for about 30 minutes or more to fill it up) however, the room was a little run down, and cleanliness/maintenance should be improved. Air conditioning was amazing though. We were quite disappointed because we were really looking forward to the room stay. It was underwhelming in general, not exactly worth the hype or the cloud suite price.
Ps. they don’t have usb wall sockets so do bring your charger head along for the stay.

Cozy place with a friendly boss. There’s a pool with a glass floor and a nice cafe downstairs. The artwork in the rooms are all different and they are painted by local Singaporean artists. This place is a beautiful boutique hotel 5 minutes walk from Lavender MRT station. There are also variois restaurants and shops nearby so no worries about being hungry or bored at night. Unlike any other places in Singapore.

In overall, it is a chic boutique hotel. The room (suite) is pretty spacious and there is a big bathtub that can fit several people. A short walk can bring you to Bugis or Lavender, or if you are lqzy, just take a bus from the nearby bus stop

Was deciding between giving 1 or 2 stars rating for the 3D2N staycation in late Nov, we had to conclude that it is by far the worst experience we had in a SG boutique hotel We planned the staycation on the last weekend of Nov to celebrate one of our birthdays & decided upon the 3D2N offer by Hotel XY on Fave. (1) Reservation & response was good & fast, the male manager was nice to offer us a “free upgrade to Junior Suite” on 1st night but we got to move to a normal room next door on 2nd day. On check-in day, my friend (she flew to SG in Sep to visit her family & had recently returned to US) whom arrived at the hotel much earlier, (2) did not receive a warm welcome by the female manager in non-uniform (we later found out she could be one of the owners while the other 2 young female staffs are interns). When my other friend arrived, she decided to pay $60 for extra bed, (3) however the payment process was so bad due to poor & broken network, the delay gave us a very poor check-in experience, moreover, (4) the female manager also failed to ask me for the Fave redeem code which the hotel has to scan it from my fave app upon check-in, hence the night shift male manager had to “chase me for it late in the night” & even blamed me that I should be the one to offer my redeem code apparently it is his colleague’s fault who failed to be aware of the SOP yet he blamed the customer! (5) Although the boutique hotel has a lift, it has to be self-controlled & super extremely slow would rather take the stairs but realised the staircase is very dark & not well lit which make it hazardous! When I feedback to the female manager she seemed not very concerned We were given the “Junior Suite” on L2 next to the “pool” (6) which is more like a elongated water fountain, with a transparent pool bottom that’s sitting right on top of the hotel bistro, means bistro patrons can simply look up & see your bottoms & open legs when u swim! To be honest, we think 2 smaller water jacuzzi tubs would be better than the “pool”! (7) The real rude shock & disappointment came when we saw how small & claustrophobic the “Junior Suite” is!!! (8) There are NO proper beds, just thick mattresses on the floor ‍️ (9) the extra bed is also just a flat mattress on the floor!!! It’s so pathetic that I immediately feedback that it is unacceptable for us to have paid $60 for a flat mattress that’s worst than the mattress that I’ve bought for my ex-domestic helper!! So the staff had to search for another flat mattress to pile on to make it “slightly thicker” (10) NO walking space in the room so we had to sit on our mattresses (as good as sitting on the floor literally) to chill & chat. (11) Toilet was spacious in comparison with a small bathtub should give more of that space to the room!! (12) Thank goodness AC was strong & water heater works. (13) TV programs sucked though with only very limited channels (14) Next day noon we had to move to next door “normal room” so can imagine it’s even smaller & more claustrophobic (15) Initially hotel staff told us we got to pay another $60 for 1 more day of extra bed but the female boss has kindly waive it after our “feedback” yesterday. (16) We had to help move things over & saw how dusty the next room is as they prepared the room & extra bed (17) The lady boss tried to be friendly with us by suggesting a few eating places. (18) Though the hotel experience isn’t fabulous, we must say the hotel central location is indeed excellent with lots of good food choices, heritage places & malls which are all within walking distance.

I stayed one night at XY Hotel Bugis and was overcharged. The ‘pre-authority’ deposit was actually charged to my credit card. I left the room in perfect condition and did not use any hotel services. When I write to the hotel they ignored my email. I wrote again one week later, again no response. I would not recommend anyone to stay here or if you do get ready to be ripped off.

Near plenty of restaurants, very convenient to bus and subway. The owner was super nice and seem to run the entire operation. The pictures are not quite representative of the actual hotel. It feels more like a hostel. It needs serious renovations – and basic ones like dusting!!!! (There was probably 5 years of dust built up on wires, lights and fixtures). Understand when you book here, you are not getting a mattress. You get a VERY THIN futon and the room will not be cleaned (we stayed 5 days). Loved the pool though!

Nice modern eclectic interior, welcoming staffs and cozy rooms. Nothing more that I’ll need for a wonderful staycation experience in the heart of a historical district. Perhaps an in-room massage therapy at the end of a long tiring day? Haha.

There is makan place at the Hotel Lobby called Kava. It is Halal Certified. I ordered the Crab and Mush Arrabiata. It was delicious as they have used real crab meat. It is not spicy so it is good. It has a touch of the Malay taste. The Butter Bandung Frappe is the bombz! It is not sweet and tasted just right to the tongue. I swear the drink will not give u diabetes. My friend ordered Seared Barramudi with Prawns? However, they replaced with Salmon instead. That was ok as it still tasted good! Would love to staycay at this hotel someday as looking at the interior design, it feels cosy and there is an outdoor swimming pool on the 2nd lvl!

First and foremost, this review is not to put down the staff but the management should look into the hotel condition, maintenance etc. Staff can only do so much unless the management step in to see to these issues.

My partner and I arrived at the Hotel on 19-Mar at 5pm, we were told to wait. Do note that the check-in time is supposedly at 3pm. About 6pm, I was told that the room was ready and I could check-in but the TV had no “cable connection” and to wait for the connection to be fixed. I refused to check-in yet. What’s the point of checking-in and settling in for the night yet issue is not resolved?

    I told the front desk lady this and she was unable to confirm when the issue could be resolved. She offered two alternative rooms which she showed;
    – Alternative Room 1 was much smaller and yet to be cleaned. The floor was sticky.
    – Alternative Room 2 where the door couldn’t be opened. She tried several times after which I commented maybe the room was not meant to be opened.

By this timing, I was frustrated by the poor service and found that it’s a waste of time. Housekeeping then informed that the TV was now functioning so we proceed to check-in the room. It’s about 6.30-6.45pm.

    Issues with the room:
    – Dusty
    – Aircon is facing an odd angle hence the cold air is not circulating
    – The mattress seems to make up of 2 separate single mattresses
    – The walls seems to have condensation
    – Found several cockroaches at the bed area and even in the fridge
    – There were cups and coffee sachets available in the room but no sign of kettle
    – The TV disappointingly only has 3 or 4 channels

So we checked-in close to 7pm but check-out time was at 12.30pm. What the staff could at least offer was a late check-out since they couldn’t even check us in promptly and hassle-free.

New boutique hotel that just opened. Located in the Kampong Glam area the hotel is in a quieter part of town but still near enough to walk to major malls and plenty of restaurants around. Highly recommended

If you are thinking of a staycation and still considering, trust me look no further.
    Just book XY Hotel Bugis.

On the 3rd of September, I walked to the hotel to enquire about their rooms and rates as my girlfriend’s birthday is round the conner and wanted to have a 2D1N staycation

The lady boss was so friendly and allowed me to view the rooms
The staff brought me up to individual rooms and showed me around.
Just as I have always been thinking of trying out a staycation here, the place look stunning, the rooms, the bathtub, the pool at the 2nd level and the bistro beside the lobby.

The staff was so friendly and patient, so I straight away booked online (Room 301) on the spot with the help of the staff.

    My gf’s birthday
We were warmly welcomed, and we checked in.

We went to the room and “tada” it was so cosy.

Rested awhile and went down to have our dinner at their bistro

The Chef did a splendid job with the food
    Tapas Mushrooms (Best) 20/10
    Tapas Sausage 10/10
    Tapas Crispy Chicken 10/10
Big Tiger Prawn Aglio Olio 20/10

The owners made it extra special for my gf’s birthday

I am so thank you for the wine and cake for my gf️ so sweet of them And also singing happy birthday to my gf

After dinner, we had a great time in the pool.

Then went back up to the room to enjoy ourselves soaking in their big bathtub.

We decided to eat again before we go.
We had a Hawaiian pizza 10/10
and my favourite mushrooms again 20/10

And after which, was time to check out.

We enjoyed the hotel a lot

To the owners, staffs and Chef

From the bottom of my heart
I am thankful for all your services ️

Literally the worst place ever. Firstly when i came in the staff were super unprofessional.
    1. Asked me to check in later to wait for my other party.
    2. The lift is a hassle as it’s one of those needing to hold on the button till your level. The staff didn’t even assist me when i was clueless on how to use.
    3. Got my first room, there was TRASH everywhere. the room was not even ready.
    4. Got my second room, DUST EVERYWHERE. I don’t easily get allergies but this place triggered it. toilets were crusty, stains and cracks on the walls. best part was the kettle pot had MOLD.
    5. Requested for a different room, they wanted me to take back the first room “after cleaning about 20 mins” We waited over 30. Still not ready.
    6. Got in the room we were first assigned to, same situation as room 2.
I was super fed up and requested for a refund and to talk to a Manager. The staff kept ignoring me and attend to other people. The cleaner / admin? staff was quite rude.
they offered me 2 more rooms that was just worst then the others.
3 hours later i couldn’t take it anymore, i booked another place while waiting for the manager to contact me. she didn’t until i raised my concern to her again 20 mins later.

i wouldn’t even give this place 1 star.
wanted to try this as it was hyped back then and the food options in the area is good.
They charged the price when it was XY. it’s not worth the price now. The place is just horrible.

Small and flirtatious postmodern design hotel – it has graffiti in the rooms – at an affordable price to be Singapore. The internet connection is great and they leave you a mobile phone with data and calls. Breakfast is more than correct and throughout the day you can make yourself a free coffee and you have biscuits, chocolates, etc., also for free. The only bad thing is if you have noisy neighbors. In short, it is super hipster-milenial-cool.

Had a very bad experience stay at XY hotel.
All the photo or advertisement look great but Mood for celebration was gone on my first day of stay at XY hotel.

    1) Cleanliness was bad and during this COVID-19 face mask was not put on while talking to the customer or cleaning the room.

    2) I could see previous rubbish and stains in the room/ toilet when I first entered the room.

    3) Hotel facility are bad
    – Main Room door are faulty

    – some of the room wall plug and switch are faulty.

    – was unable to access my room during my stay the next day.

    – TV remote was faulty, local TV Channel was lagging (eg. Channel 5) and unable to watch any of my shows.

    – Swimming pool Area tiles are cracked and pool walk way are faulty/damage and may cause injury or cut your foot while in the pool. Which I did unfortunately.

For anyone who going to stay, Do be careful if you are going for a swim at XY Hotel.

reasons why i put 3 star was because of some mistakes they did but hey, the afternoon staff from 4 till 10 is very very nice. they greet us with a smile & stuff. i booked a junior suit, it was clean & nice. spacious as well. just that i requested a special requested which they didn’t make any of it but then, saying sorry & giving us a bottle of wine to celebrate our monthsary. the other mistake was i called for a room service while i was out for 4+ hrs, which shocked me when i came back its still the same but thats forgiven maybe the housecleaning was over or etc. another one, yes i understand the room was only for 2 person, & international hotel & etc, but again. when we bring my friends over which is only 2 person, the afternoon staff didn’t tell anything to us like they can’t sleep here & stuff. i mean we should know the rules & regulations. its basic & the night staff were saying that it’s troublesome to tell the things all the time. i thought its a job thing to do right? but overall, i had fun. just the night was ruin. thanks xy for the wine for our anniversary (:

The moment I stepped into the “hotel” which’s more like a hostel, 1 ladies was sitting on the sofa and the other one was lying down with both her feets on the seat using their phone. At first I thought they were customer till I walk to the counter they came to approach me. upon entering the room, there’s a strong durian smell, thought someone next door is having their feast. But the moment when I opened the fridge I almost fainted. Someone left their half eaten durian with soju inside. I couldn’t stand the smell so I have to bring it out to the table just outside the room. The smell took few hours to totally go off in the room. But once you open the fridge again the smell is still there even after spraying perfume afew time. Worst experience ever. Don’t expect anyone to greet you upon entering , I believe those reviews are written by the staff and owners there. I Booked my hotel very last min and I gotten the junior suite which claims to be 248sq ft which’s more like 180sq ft for $256 I don’t think it’s even worth. For the price, I can stayed a much better hotel, due to my booking was last min, most of the hotel rooms are sold. Else I won’t even have a look at this hotel. It’s not even worth a 100 bucks honestly. Location is good tho. About 10mins walking distance from the hotel to Bugis. other than that nothing I could compliment about this hotel (the staff there still asked me “for day use?”) I was like the app didn’t even stated day or night use. I came here purely for my staycation. Afterwards I start to realise it’s actually a “quick and easy” hotel but slightly better than hotel 81 I guess? (Thou I didn’t been to those budget hotels before) but oh well. Don’t put too much expectations here (:

The price is quite cheap, the location is very convenient, not far from Bugis Station, the counter service staff is super friendly, and you can borrow umbrellas with the hotel for free on rainy days! However, I think the room is a bit small, and it can be seen as old, but it has everything you need, and it also offers free breakfast (although breakfast is quite simple, but many Singapore hotels do not provide breakfast, you need extra money), overall Recommended, but there is a small drawback. The room we stayed in was next to the pool that day, and there was a little water splashing into the door.

The whole room totally out of expectation in the photo from what they posted, toilet is dirty no toilet paper at all. Can hear the steps and people talking and shouting outside our room. Staff was not freindly acting rude when we tap the card to the door and can’t open he come to help, and keep saying in a not nice way of tone voice. All in all very poor service.

Its a nice hotel but the room that i got which is the cat room as there is a painting of a cat has bad tv signal(first enter thetv last for a few hours, then gone for 2 days only get sinal for a few mins then gone again) , , wifi is ok but in the room there is only 2 bars i recomend not to play mobile games .the rack in the toilet is very fragile my sister took a towel and thr rack got slanted (these problems are only the cat room that they put us in,not sure about other rooms). BUT after all that the room is nice has a nice vibe to it ,the place is clean and very hipster feel to it has nice has like neon design really cute , has a nice pool but you can see people swiming from the dining room as the swiming pool is right above half of the pool flooring is transparent . They have really good service everyone is really friendly and kind especially The lady with glasses ,help us alot as we faced the problem that i stated , appreciate it alot ! Overall its a nice hotel for staycay , its only 5 mins walk to 7 11 and 10 mins walk to bugis .

Worst experience in any hotel i have ever stayed. Booked for 7 nights. Checked in at 9pm on day 1. Checked out at 10pm on day 1! Couldn’t see myself and my family even stay for a night! Toilet had stains everywhere. Aircon not even slightly cold. And the worst part, lump of hair found under the pillows. Seriously consider other hotels before even booking here. Requested for a refund but till now no answer or reply from hotel. Hi hotel? More like bye bye hotel.

1/5? No, it’s 0/5, but I cannot choose 0/5 on google rating. Regret for not looking at the google reviews before booking this XY hotel. It was a HORRENDOUS experience! The check-in was smooth and everything seems acceptable at the lobby area. We took the lift and it’s those kind of lift which required us to press continuously for it to move up to level 2. Not an issue for us thou but it’s kinda scary. But thereafter, here comes the problems:
    1. The corridor to our room was so dark that we need to switch on our torch on our mobile to find the room number.
    2. Went into the room, it was so dusty, dirty and there’s stains here and there. The room was poorly maintained and it’s so unhygienic.
    3. My bf has sensitive nose; hence, we requested to change the room via text message.
    4. Not wanting to wait any further, we went out of the room and wanted to head down to the reception area to ask for a change, but we bumped into the hotel manager outside our room. Just when we want to tell him the issue, he asked us to keep quiet, don’t say anything because there’s a guest there. Then he continue saying that I give you free upgrade, you don’t say anything, then he opened another room right in front of our previous room and asked us to go in and see if it’s ok, while he bring another guest to the room that was assigned to us previously. At a quick glance, the room seems ok, but when we on the aircon, it was so noisy and there’s water leakage from the aircon.
    5. My boyfriend went down immediately and the hotel manager said just leave, we will refund you rudely and he became dramatic.
We left. All in all, this hotel is full of nonsense, worst than other 3 stars hotel out there. BOOK AT YOUR OWN RISK! Really ridiculous! WORST HOTEL EVER! PERIOD.

No window for a $230 room is quite a let down. The rooms they have listed are the nicer rooms (perhaps).

The bathtub was stained and the TV was subsituted for a 80” projector screen, yup just the screen and the projector. No HDMI connector, no smart/android box setup. We were expected to bring our own laptop and VGA converter to this room that was right next to the hotel lobby.

However, none of them were real issues, just found it very annoying that for the price we got something closer to a illegal hostel.

Book a room with a bath tub last month. Worst staycay ever. I highly DO NOT recommend to stay there. First of all, the place is not well taken care of. I didn’t even bother to swim as the pool floor can be seen that it hasnt been clean for quite a while. Can see all the dirt. When I entered the room, there was yellow food stains on the floor. I ignored it. However when I opened the slipper which was put in plastic cover, I noticed it had the same stain at the side. They might have reused the slippers which is supper unhygienic. And when I called the front desk that the bath tub drainage had a problem, they did their best to get the water flowing down but it took 3 hours just to get half of the tub water down the drainage on its own after my bath. I talked to the manager PATRICK at around 11 as I was told he will only be in at night. When I mentioned the situation, he took out a box of detergent and said “would this help?” That shockingly rude. He went on and on saying that the business is not doing well. He said sorry for being rude but continue to talk rudely and offered to change to a room without bath tub but when i said its not fair since i paid for a room with a bath tub, he said “so do you think it’s fair that i have to give you a refund since you already stayed here? Utterly rude and no respect for guest. In the end we agreed on full refund but I have to pay $1. Throughout the conversation he repeatedly said “Nevermind, since I can’t ask you to leave at this timing I will let you stay as a charity.” That manager is full of nonsense. And oh, he claimed himself as the manager, security guard and also owner of that hotel. Worst hotel ever.

The pillowed were abit flat and only given 1 for each pax . When we first entered the room, there were a lot of ants in the sink and also some strands of hair in the bath tub. It could have been so easy for the hotel cleaner to clean all those before new guest arrives right, but nope … and yea the shower head don’t seem to be working . So had to use the spray near the bowl to shower . Oh yea and no bathrobes for the price

We could hear every door close, and guest speaking loudly until late at night (1am) and early in the morning (7am) making it impossible to get any good sleep. Stayed at the 2nd floor.

The doors are terribly thin, with a significant gap under them. Windows didn’t cut out any noise too. You might have a more pleasant experience at the 3rd floor, but I wouldn’t take a chance here again.

Seriously very upset paying $188 for the movie suite. It was for a night but my boyfriend and me immediately went out after 4-5 hours of spending time there. They did say that there were no pillow covers, and that it will take some time for the laundry to come, but also we were given super small towels that couldn’t even fit for an adult. The wires for the projector were faulty and it keeps distracting when I’m watching a show. Then after sometime, my boyfriend’s phone had no battery, we told then and they said they would lend us a tablet, just to watch and to return it upon check out. But after that they say they couldnt lend due to management decision. Lol, its a really disappointing stay here. Would never ever return here again tbh.

Booked a deluxe room, and it was quite possibly the worst room I’ve stayed in in Singapore. I asked for a queen bed, and late check out. I received none of those. Here are some of the issues:

    1. The bed was just two single mattresses pushed together. Since there was no frame or anything, the mattresses kept sliding apart.
    2. The mattress itself was extremely uncomfortable and hard.
    3. The pillows were extremely soft and may as well not exist.
    4. The room was dirty, and dusty. There was a large black stain on wall below the TV and its just disgusting.
    5. The TV had only 5 channels. Doesn’t even have the local channel 5, Channel 8, etc.
    6. I tried to plug in my chromecast, but for some reason it wouldn’t stay connected to the WiFi. I am not sure what is causing that but it worked nicely in all the other hotels I’ve been in and even at home.
    7. The air conditioning is sporadic. Comes on and off randomly. It became quite warm in the middle of the night and some times during the day. When I first went into the room I received the text from the hotel staff asking if the the aircon was “working”. It was, at the time. I think this text was just to cover themselves.
Overall, I would not recommend this “hotel” at all. It wasn’t even cheap.

We booked 1 night at this boutique hotel’s cloud “suite”. For the price, I would suggest all to put their money elsewhere.

    Huge bathtub (can fit 2)
    Comfortable bed and pillows

The bathtub tap cannot stay hot for MORE THAN 2 MINUTES. Ridiculous.
Irresponsible staff who took our ICs and never gave them back despite having many chances to. Only gave back when we approached them. Blame game and no apologies at all.
Opening the door with the key was confusing (door handle was there but not meant to use, the key turns away from the door hinge to open)
Paint peeling off and stains on walls and in the bathtub.
Self-proclaimed the only boutique hotel with a lift (it is false) and does not work well
No clear instructions at DIRTY pool and had to walk down to front desk w swimming suits JUST to get towels.
    Sharp objects on pool floor

Extremely expensive for the quality you get.

The hotel is tucked away at Klapa Lane and near to Dim Sum Place. We love the location as its near to that restaurant.

The sevice rendered from the hotel staff is awesome and the decor n concept are interesting. Very artsy….

But the hotel is kinda run-down…. The rooms were dirty, floorboards were popping up which poses as dangerous obstacles for my 5 year old kid, the bathtub is huge but dirty and the steps into the bathtub is movable and very slippery… when the board is moved, you can see molds growing… browish greenish yellowish etc….

The steps inside the hotel was very dusty… I am not sure if the management really checks all the rooms properly…

They have live performances and a pool which is great.. but for this hotel, the concept was better then then the housekeeping/condition n property management.

The two stars are for the awesome staff and the concept.

The stars not given are for the hygiene, safety and condition of the hotel.

Will not come again and recommend anyone to come. Price not matching for the overall experience.

We are a family of three (2 adult n 1 five year old) , staying at the Family Suite from 22/9/2018 till 23/9/2018. We are lucky that it was a short staycation cos we do really feel cheated.

The hotel was totally a very disappointing! Worst hotel ever!! The room was dusty, the paint was peeling around the air-con, there is a bathtub but no bathtub stopper, toilet door is not functioning and the hygiene is extremely poor. The Beer Room we got was supposedly a special Art Boutique room by a Chinese artist, but it looked like it was drawn by a child.. The bed and pillows were flat and uncomfortable and the walls were so thin we were kept up by partying guests opposite us. The cleanliness was really poor as it seemed like manpower was lean and the front desk staff were roped in to help with the cleaning. O.o The food from the XY Bistro was also overpriced and not very tasty. The only saving grace was the hospitality and friendliness of the owners, who were at the hotel.

    HI.. well. Hello.
Where do we start with you..

First impressions – the staff were alright, although uncle seemed nice, bar him being barefoot and mask-less, which didn’t show professionalism. He was willing to show people around, however, which was a start.
The lady at the check-in desk asked me first for paperwork, despite my partner saying they were the one who had booked it, multiple times.

The door to the room looked like it hadn’t been wiped down in weeks, but the biggest issue was a falling apart doorframe! One big kick and there goes any room security.

The shower wasn’t clean, had hair in it, marks, soap scum on the glass, and was nowhere near the standard it should be.
The toilet.. Only one half of a roll of toilet paper isn’t exactly a great look, given no other roll was provided. Nor were black marks on it. Hair was also found in this area.
The basin. Having no soap provided for handwashing is a little bit of a no-no in covid times.
The bath mat was on the floor in the bedroom, which is a little unusual, but still understandable. Towels also seem a little bit on the small side.

Main room. Dusty, floorboards look like they could do with a mop. Definitely needs some TLC.
The box with the amenities (Kettle/Hair Dryer, etc) was also very dusty. They could use a wipe down with a damp cloth.
Condensation was found on the crockery, requiring wiping down. Definitely could tell it was clean, however they needed better airing out.
Television.. don’t expect to get 3/4 of the main channels in Singapore, they aren’t here. 5 channels at best, only 3 of which work.

The bed. Comfortable, but not outstanding. Could do with an extra two pillows. No extra blankets here either, so if you get cold, you’re out of luck.
The hanging space is basically an open metal bar with coathangers. Adds to the room but barely, and needs a repaint.

The mirror is chipped and slightly dirty. Paint also has chips in areas, other areas need painting over to cover marks.
The aircon unit is in need of a good clean-up, filters and probably servicing. It has occasional bursts of cold air, but sounds more like a shower running when it does.

The lighting is a confusing mess of 12 unlabled switches next to the door. Good luck if you need the toilet in the middle of the night, you’re going to struggle to find it.

The room itself. The artwork is okay, a little confronting and awkward, a bit odd that it hasn’t been changed in 4 years, and therefore, that makes the room somewhat feel dated. It does match the photos online, but only barely.
Beside the peephole and the feature wall, not very much actually ties the room together and stops it being somewhat generic. Unique soft furnishings could help this.

The rest of the hotel seems to look okay, although the bamboo mat in the hallway, and the push to operate lift is strange.
The stairway being not very well lit is also a major safety concern, particularly with the dark walls. Something to offset this would be more art, or adding strip lighting to the stairs.

Overall, management may have failed the staff (in particular housekeeping), which flows all the way down to the customer.

Given all of the above issues, now’s your chance to redeem yourself.
Pick up your game, and we’ll say HI.. again.

Good location, service is good but rooms are tired, old and walls are thin, so you can hear kids running and screaming around easily being in a room next to the pool. Rooms are def a lil old and the 2nd day the bedsheets had a huge yellow stain that I got really disgusted with but service was prompt and they were quick to change it. Not worth the price, wouldn’t be back again.

Got the movie suite. There’s a bistro downstairs that offers room service as well or you can just eat there. Swimming pool you have to book a slot which is good considering the covid19 now. The room was alright I guess just the plumbing system was kinda spoilt and I don’t think they cleaned the room well cuz there were balloons that were already there when we checked in.

Other than that, variety of food nearby. Near haji lane Arab st. 7-11 was also quite nearby. We got the movie suite and it was nice watching Netflix on a huge projector. 9. Walking distance to mrt

    1. Pre war colonial building which means ground floor is concrete and upper floor is wood. If staying down stairs, u will be able to hear ppl walking and jumping loudly and u wouldn’t be able to sleep.
    2. Rooms with bathtubs didn’t have proper drainage flow which resulted in water getting stagnated always and drains very slowly.
    3. Bathtub doesn’t have shower curtains, therefore water will splash literally all over the floor including near the sink area.
    4. Had some problems with the aircond. It will automatically get hot out of the blue then back to super cold.

Probably my worse experience in a boutique hotel so far. Everything is dusty and there are stains on the bedsheets and walls. I heard continuous banging from the room above me, so I decided to ask the hotel clerk to ask them to stop. As I walked into the lobby, the clerk was sleeping on one of the sofa seats so I woke him up and told him about the noise which he said he would tell them.

An hour later the noise continued, I told him again and he said he told them already in a annoyed manner. I didn’t pay $100+ to hear noises of footsteps all day and night. And your staff are unprofessional and your rooms are dirty and disappointing.

Tbh we weren’t expecting anything good from the hotel stay due to the many ridiculously bad reviews I’ve seen on Google.

As soon as we entered, we were warmly greeted by the manager who also handled our check in. It was a breeze and we immediately got our room. We were honestly bracing ourselves for dirty rooms as the other reviewers had given and were prepared to do some of our own housekeeping since we’re quite particular about cleanliness.

Upon entry to our room, we did a quick inspection of the room and it was spotless clean! No stray hairs, no dust bunnies, no food crumbs. Heck, we even dragged our feet across the floor to see if any dirt or dust would stick to them but nope.

We agree that the room may need some minor repairs; a little bit of painting to keep it fresh and a strong lacquer for the painted wooden floors as some of the paint were peeling off. However, we thought that these weren’t essential for the time being, considering Covid and all the uncertainties that come with it. Otherwise, we were very pleased with the room. We’re not too crazy about the stone lions art but hey, to each his own right? Art is still art, no matter.

The pool was really beautiful and a perfect escape. Think Bangkok without the crowd or the wrong company. It was exceptionally wonderful at night! The entire atmosphere of the hotel was perfect for introverts like us that just wanna escape our busy schedules. Not gonna lie, both nights were one of the best sleep I’ve had in the longest time.

Pricing wise, we thought it was quite pricey for a night’s stay in the suite. It would be more enticing if it was around $180 for the suite, we think.

We truly appreciate the staffs’ friendliness and helpfulness. They even prepared handwritten notes with hand drawn cute emojis. I mean, which other hotel is this personalised? Keep it up guys!

*Note: the purpose of this feedback is not to put the team down, but to provide some insights on how they can improve the hotel.

    Stays: Honeymoon Suite, Price: ~$200+

    A few good things first:

The team is polite, and helpful. Although I called the night before about the check-in timing, one of the male staff took the extra mile to drop me a text the next day to inform me of a possible early check-in.

He and one of the female staff are very friendly too.

Many other things to take note:

    – The whole place is cramped and dusty. (Even the the furnitures at the lobby is dusty already – imagine the rest of the hotel)

-We found cobwebs on our bedframe,
-The paint around the aircon is peeling,
-The bathroom door couldn’t be closed, and
-The floor of the bathroom is peeling,
    -DO NOT open the curtains,
-Lastly, the staff are not in a coherent uniform (some of them are in their own shirts)

The place doesn’t feel like a hotel: it either it feels like a hostel, or a hotel in Msia (so sorry!). I don’t think it worth the price I’m paying.

It doesn’t help when there are similar hotels round the corner but they look more up to standard.

Tbh, the place looks so good in the pictures – I am just saddened that turns out to be the opposite.

I strongly urged the management to pay attention to the details and I look forward to see more positive feedbacks in the future.

For $170 a night, you are better off staying elsewhere. FYI I left a review on Expedia, but it seems like the hotel is blocking bad reviews on Expedia.

    1. The staff is very friendly and helpful. And that’s the only pros.

    2. Dust was everywhere in the room and outside. Common touch areas like cups and top of fridge had a layer of dust on them. Dust are also on the wall.

    3. Toilet was dirty with long hair in toilet and many shaved hair at sink.

    4. The beds are terrible. Instead of a single king bed, 2 single beds were combined together. The beds springs are totally haywire and you will sink into the floor.

    5. The towels have holes in them.

  154. Avatar photo

Lobby was nicely furbished and check in was relatively easy.

The room was not well maintained. We found cobwebs behind the door, the bathroom faucet was loose, water heater could only heat up intermittently and made the bathtub lukewarm. Paint work was done poorly and some lights were spoilt or not working.

It might have won awards in the past for its design but due to bad maintenance, it is not worth your money and time now.

It wasn’t a pleasant experience. Requested for extra liquid soap and shampoo but was denied. Asked for extra pillow was also turned down. Water closet (WC) faulty but wasn’t able to fix it. May be the first and the last time I’m here. Other hotel provides much, much better service elsewhere. Regret of staying here. Was a big letdown.

Despite previous google reviews I was pleasantly surprised by HI Hotel. The accommodation was clean, tidy and as represented in the images. The air conditioner worked perfectly, and the room as a whole was actually very quiet. The pool was perfect, with no other guests using the pool throughout the stay leading to a great experience. The staff at the hotel were highly accommodating, including allowing us to check-in early without notice, providing any requested items during the stay and helping with any questions. Yes, there could have been a little bit of handy work done around the property but nothing super noticeable.

Overall, we were pleased with the HI Hotel, especially given the price for the room compared to others in SIngapore.

Booked the Suite Color Clouds for our staycation but overall I wouldn’t recommend it or I would say is my first and last stay in this hotel. Location is very convenient as it’s just a 10 mins walk from Bugis MRT. Staff were friendly is just that the cleanliness of the hotel is the worse that I ever encounter. The moment I step in the room, I saw some hair on the bed. There’s black stain on the cubicle and I even saw a yellow rubber item that seems to be a condom in the bath tub!! I took the image and send it to the staff and they arrange the cleaner to come up to clean the toilet again. The pillows were flat and uncomfortable and the air-condition doesn’t seems to be working well too.

During the isolation period at Covid-19, I was very well taken care of by the innkeeper, especially the meals, which I really enjoyed.
It has wifi, shower, clean bed, sound bar and big TV, which satisfied my needs for work and entertainment.
Although the 14 days of isolation is very long, but I feel very cheerful to live here. It was a good experience and I would come again if I could.

Thought I would help a local hotel out during these tough times but this was by far the worst hotel stay I have had in Singapore. Room door takes 10 tries before it opens. Heater doesn’t work. Buttons don’t work. Bath tub moves and squeaks when you’re in it. Mattress is not raised and on the floor. Everything has a layer of dust on it. You will hear every sound the guest staying above you makes – and all this was in a Junior Suite! Also if you’re purchasing the voucher from Fave be warned that the so-called $88 “food voucher” is jammed with so many conditions it was basically a classic bait and switch – fyi the restaurant isn’t even operating. If this is how this hotel does business when business is scarce can you imagine when it’s normal?

To their credit, the service response was very good.

Room was alright, it can get a bit noisy. Initially, I was told that the room I paid for didn’t come with complimentary breakfast but was pleasantly surprised when a lady (presumably the owner or manager) told me that it’s available to me as well.

However, it was difficult to contact them via email as I had wanted to change my book-in date. Sent 3 emails and went down twice but still no replies. In the end, I had to shelf my own plans and reschedule to come stay at the hostel on the original book-in date.

Cosy and nice boutique hotel with a nice room and tub, however when we were there they just repaint the place, hence the smell of paint in the room is overwhelming all i breathe was paint through out the night.. otherwise it would be a perfect stay.

Very accommodating staff at this quirky little hotel. We appreciated the early check in since we came from a red eye flight. The Handy mobile they lend you is very useful. The hotel is a few minutes walk from Bugis or Lavender station or from the Stamford Primary School bus stop. We had a comfortable stay at a great location in the city.

Great value for money! I’ve been here for a week. Great location and easy access to malls, hospital and restaurants. I mean a lot of restaurants situated just a few minutes away from this hotel. The staff who checked me in was very accomodating and efficient. There was a pool at the second level if you wish to cool down. There were few options in their breakfast but just enough for the price I paid. The room is clean. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here.
