Daylight robbery. The amount they’re charging, I could get more at other family restaurants. And it’s so sneaky to just put wet towels there and not inform they are chargeable until the bill comes. People have their own tissues and wet towels. You don’t provide your own like it’s an act of goodwill, and then charge people without telling them in the first place. And service charge? Staff only led me to the table. What service is there? The whole time, they’re talking amongst each other. Even the robot served the dishes. And when we asked the waitress to come and count the plates for the sushi, she seemed annoyed as if we asked to do something ridiculous.

Decent meal at one of the pioneer Halal sushi joints in Singapore. Slightly on the pricey side, requires a bit of experience in choosing food items that are value for money.

Salmon sashimi is thick and fresh, however without the 1-for-1 promotion it’s rather expensive. The rest of the food items are average, special shoutout for the Spicy Salmon Gunkan which is a must for me everytime I come!

Overall, with more and more Halal Japanese joints on the rise, I’d come visit again if it’s convenient.

Current condition has improved so much compared to when they just started at SSC. Ambience even better than before! Cosy enough for couples as well as families. The menu too has also improved and includes some Korean Fusion options. Best place for halal Japanese food and sushi in the Northern part of Sg.

Food quality has dropped since I last visit. Cha Soba was as if soba in cold water no taste whatsoever. Sushi rice was made poorly, overly sticky and again no taste at all. Chawamushi was just lukewarm when served as well.

Worse thing the price has risen but the quality did not match the price.

We went around 11.40 and yet there were no more tables (they closed seats and there was barely any more seats). After talking to one of the Snr waitress, she said I could have the 2 seats right opposite the door entrance. Make do for that and waited for my friend to come in.
Ordered tempura set for myself. My friend got some Ramen noodles. My set came with chawan mushi and ordered a ika tempura also. Ordered soup dish also ( just forgot the name now). Overall food was good. For some reasons, Hei food here in Sembawang is pretty good than at other locations. Thank you.

I have always enjoy Japanese food although I don’t really eat anything raw. This is the only place I would choose to go to – kinda far for me. The place is little cramp for group dining @ Sembawang. So far, the service is good and the people are friendly. They should consider reopening another one outlet in the west – previously there was one in West Coast Plaza but it was closed down – not sure why. It was so nearby my workplace that it has been my weekly routine to dine there.

Non-Muslim diners will definitely avoid this halal sushi restaurant because the non-halal competition serve much better, fresher and cheaper sushi and sashimi.

We went to the outlet at Sembawang Shopping Centre and the presence of only 3 couples there for Sunday lunch was surely not a good sign.

The quality was mediocre and the choices on the conveyor belt were quite limited. I ordered tuna sushi from the kitchen and got what appeared to be thin slices of fresh-out-of-the-chiller tuna atop easily crumbling rice.
For the price of $5++ (a decent nasi padang meal can be bought), you’d expect the quality of a pair of unagi/salmon belly sushi to be better.
No fresh seafood sweetness, no moisture and limp texture. Overall so unsatisfying and we ended up unsatiated.

Which brings us to this question: Where can we Muslims get quality halal sushi?

Placed advanced order for dinner today. Ordered around 1pm for delivery between 630 to 730pm. Delivery came on time. However some food items came not freshly cooked. Grilled squid felt cold to the touch and was rubbery and hard. Fried tofu n kakiage also had the same cold to touch feeling. Maybe the food was cooked much earlier n then stored in fridge. I can overlook the tofu n kakiage but my $11 rubbery hard grilled squid is totally unacceptable!

One of only a few brands that offer HALAL sushi. Hence the 5 star rate from me.. Nestled in the corner of the Sembawang Shopping Centre, you could miss it the first time if you havent been there before. Small n cozy inside, best time to be is around 5pm when the sushi rail are prepped up full of sushi plates for the mass dinner crowd. Vast choices of sushi and sashimis for a HALAL sushi place. Taste can be almost on par with non halal ones but thats just about it as the lack of non halal ingredients limits the tastes to being sub par from traditional japanese sushis. But excellent nevertheless as it is able to cater to the Muslim community with good sushi selections. Look out for the Hey Sushi Car that sends small plates to those ordering from the ala carte menu. Kids love that. Prices are ok. Good table service with minimal engagement as orderings are made thru Ipads.

The outlet was very crowded with a long queue outside. My first time having Hei Sushi and my family and I ordered takeaway. The lady who attended to us was really polite and patient when we asked questions. I could tell that the staff really took the effort to arrange our sushi nicely on the platter; loved it so much because it looked so attractive and mouth-watering! The sushi were all really delicious. My personal favourites are the tamago mayo gunkan, tuna mayo gunkan and beef neta. Shall try dining in there the next time!

Food and customer service are outstanding! A wide variety of delicious sushi were on the menu. Ramen and udon was really tasty! I love it. In addition, the staff were all smiling and were very helpful and respectful, knowing that we had brought our infant and had to manage her as well. Restaurant size was not big but when the employees had to pass through the narrow aisle with their trolley, they waited patiently for us to move our stroller and said thanks with a smile! That really made our day! Ordering food was also a breeze through their tablet! Overall, an outstanding restaurant and I will definitely come back again!

The food is really delicious. However, this time I ordered 2 plates of crabstick sushi.(1 plate has 2 pieces of crabstick sushi) When I recieved my food(from a machine vehicle thingy), all my sushi came on 1 green plate with another black plate underneath it(idk why) and next to my sushi another coloured plate. When I wanted to pay, they said that the black plate was counted and I needed to pay for it. The black plate didn’t EVEN have food on it! It was under my plate. At least my relatives managed to justify and we paid the right amount.
    This issue was ridiculous.
