The restaurant looks quite authentic. There were many Japanese speaking patrons when we visited.
It was a weekend in Raffles Place area so we thought it won’t be crowded. To our surprise it was packed. Luckily we didn’t wait long before getting a table.
The lunch sets and hot soba that we wanted were sold out. The staff explained that it was a 1/2 day operation so they didn’t prepare a lot of food to avoid wastage.
We tasted cold soba bowls with teriyaki salmon which were not our preferred choice. The salmon & soba were tasty, wasabi could be stronger, and the bean sprouts were raw (tasted like grass).
We may revisit again to try their lunch sets and hot soba.

One of the best soba if not the best. Have eaten here 2 years ago and thestandard and consistency is still there. They’ve expanded the menu with a local twist but the quality was not compromised.

It’s hard to find chewy and handmade soba in Singapore, and at Soba IKI, they managed to whip out just that. There’s a wide variety of hot and cold soba to choose from. And if you are not a soba fan, there’s rice bowl options as well. The quality and pricing are definitely worthy of 5 stars.

Order cold soba and mini seafood bowl with soba set
A level where you can’t think of a seafood bowl as a bonus. The head is also generous. The amount of soba noodles is good, the waist is good, and the throat is not bad. (Although the soba flavor is a little weak)
    Now what is 15SGD NET.

An unassuming soba diner that serves delicious bowls of soba noodles. I intended to order the lunch special which looked like a fantastic deal but was recommended to get the bowl of unagi soba. And boy, I didn’t look back.

Unagi was warm, grilled to perfection, served with strips of thin omelette, nori, tororo (grated yam), handmade soba noodles and lovely light broth.

The noodles were firm and had a lovely bite to it. The broth was delicious. The unagi was delicious. I didn’t think this combination would be delectable but I’m glad to be proven wrong. Would definitely come back again.

Another Japanese fast food type soba shop, serving not so yummy to fill the hungry tummies of the mass lunch time crowds in Raffles Place. Heaps of choice on the menu as far as sobas and donburis go but quality is not as desirable given the somewhat higher price tags. The texture of the buckwheat soba is a tad rough and not consistent. A hard sell for me personally.

I can’t wait to taste my way through their menu because everything honestly looked delicious. I finally settled on the soba with grated yam and natto, topped with a raw egg and other condiments. The soba broth was really tasty and the egg added a layer of creaminess to the dish.

Added their homemade curry on the side and it was really yummy too. Would be back again for more, definitely.

Went on a Friday night and there was plenty of seats available. We got the Cold Unagi Soba ($16) and the Hot Yuzu Miso Chicken So a ($13).

The cold soba’s texture was good, firm and chewy. It was similar to the soba/udon we had in Japan. The cold soba paired well with hot unagi.

The yuzu soba was delish especially if you like yuzu. The soup was savory with the citrus aftertaste. Noodles was not as chewy as the cold soba but still good.

Definitely recommend this place for authentic soba.

An authentic establishment run by a Japanese chef. Soba is one of the best around, made with imported buckwheat powder and hand made. Great soba treats and the broth is soothing, but wish they had more fish options to go with it. Their Kaisen bowls are also good but they could do with no soya sauce in the rice and let the customer decide how much sauce they need. Wasabi is diluted too… otherwise delicious!

Saw many Japanese in the restaurant over lunch, so I guess it should be quite close to the quality you get in Japan. It’s healthy too, given that the soba they serve are made of 100% buckwheat and gluten free. Rice bowls were also served with Japanese multigrain rice. The only gripe I have for their lunch sets and even their ala carte menu is that each serving is about 70-80% carbs and 20% protein. Sprouts (Dou miao) and onion that came with the food was also served uncooked so if you are not a fan of the earthy taste of raw vegetables, may put you off in terms of overall satisfaction. Averages to about S$15 nett per pax.

At lunch with my husband I found out on Instagram.
Unusually affordable and delicious in Singapore! That’s my first impression. Limited to lunch sets, though.

It is said that the soba is a special 100% soba, but I didn’t feel the crumbly feeling that I thought was unique to 100%, and above all, it was white…not what I thought…but it was delicious.
It didn’t feel like it was stretched and cut, but it looked like it was boiled when it came out with a machine.

Even so, the lunch set rice bowl was delicious! Seafood bowl is almost salmon. It’s a lightly flavored pickle, which I like.
The curry rice bowl that my husband ordered is also a curry with the dashi stock from the soba restaurant! I like it!
I was also happy with the Japanese tea that came with the set!

There was quite a line around lunch time on weekdays. First of all, the store staff guided me to the seat, went to the counter to order, paid, told the table number and waited at the seat. Payment was cash or QR code payment.

Next time I will try to eat soba separately.

The noodles itself are actually not too bad but the service was rather disappointing and appalling. My favorite soba restaurant in Singapore. Juwari soba noodles with a chewy texture are excellent, and not only the standard soba noodles, but also the soba noodles arranged in a local style are very delicious. It is completely different from the usual funny arrangement of “Nanchatte soba”, and you can enjoy a new taste that perfectly matches the goodness of Japanese soba with the local taste.

Hands down the best soba I’ve had in Singapore so far. To be fair I haven’t been to that many soba shops but I believe with this price you don’t get soba with quality as good as this one elsewhere. I paid 15 dollars for what’s shown on the photo. Got big handmade soba bowl plus small bowl of chirashi rice w tuna and salmon cubes and pudding for dessert. Place is minimalistic and clean. Very down to earth. I can’t believe I can eat 100% soba in Singapore…and Iki-san’s soba is so delicious that I’m addicted to it
Moreover, as the name suggests, it is healthy
The personality and commitment of the owner, Noguchi, are reflected in the delicious soba and dishes.

Soba has a unique texture with a good variety of flavours, especially cold options. Seemed expensive for an above average bowl of soba — so it was overall an average experience. Nothing spectacular but I think it’s worth a try if you’re craving some soba and want something aside from the conventional.

You can eat authentic soba by a Japanese shopkeeper at a reasonable price in Singapore ︎
I really liked the shop because it was easy to enter even by myself, so I went there last time before returning to Japan. I also want to go there when I travel to Singapore.

Another great omakase experience here with delicious food and the 100% buckwheat soba. Try the omakase that fits every budget. A good range of sake and wine to choose from as well.

We ordered the spicy tan tan noodles and teriyaki salmon rice.

    Teriyaki salmon rice was ok.

Spicy tan tan was interesting. spicy and slightly sweet with chicken shreds and some vege sprouts. The noodles was the thin ramen type.

We went on a weekday lunchtime. Place was almost full.

We paid about $25 for the 2 bowls without drinks. Thats the typical raffles place lunch price.

Authentic soba flavors, with options to add other toppings. Ranging from $8 – 15, it is quite well worth the prices.

If you have trouble deciding, the friendly staff will be more than happy to provide you with recommendations.
But do keep it moderate with the toppings.

A restaurant where you can eat serious soba made by Japanese people, although it is not delicious. (not bad taste)
It is good that the price is cheap.
The volume was also more than I expected.
I ordered Morisoba with seafood bowl.

Seafood is frozen watery seafood that is common in Singapore, but I think this price is not bad.

The buckwheat noodles are hand-made, but they don’t have much buckwheat flavor because they don’t contain much buckwheat.

The taste of mentsuyu is delicate (thin).

I understand the commitment, but it’s a level that I can’t keep up with.

    This store is fairly popular.
So I think that this is fine.

The soba here is among the best in Singapore. What makes this place so great is how down-to-earth it is. You simply go to the counter, pay, find a seat, and then the food gets delivered to you. It avoids any of the pretentiousness you may find in other Japanese restaurants. The flooring is cement, the kitchen is in plain sight. But this only lets you savour the taste of the food even better, given how relaxed the setting is. Could be crowded during lunch time. The owner and the staff are very polite and courteous. No surprise that this place has regulars.

Came here with no expectations and I was pleasantly surprised!

Had a set meal, mori soba with kaisen don. The handmade soba noodles were really to my liking, in my opinion better than Tokyo Soba at Tanjong Pagar. The kaisen bowl was also good and well flavoured. 美味しかった!

Chef and counter lady use Japanese by default which adds to the authenticity of the experience.

    Would definitely be back!

Great place with great food! They’re well known for their soba, but I got unagi rice bowl instead. It had a good serving of unagi as I expected it to be lesser considering the price. Unagi was soft and tender, with a good portion of rice. Served quickly as well. Will be coming back another time to try their soba!

Best soba in a 5 mile radius. Like the good chewy bite to their slightly thick noodles, which are made fresh. Try the duck soba which is served with thick slices of duck. Value for money for $12.

Delicious healthy meal with staff who serve with a smile on their faces. The selection of food is good, tried their Japanese rice which was decent. The soba was great too. Very thankful for the staff who obliged in keeping a cake for a birthday celebration, and then even gave us additional plates and forks to eat it. Appreciate them going the extra mile!
