Bread here is delicious and baked fresh (they constantly stock the shelves with freshly baked bread). It remains delicious and fluffy even after leaving it overnight for breakfast the next day. If you don’t mind paying a premium over your average neighborhood bakery, then I highly recommend this bakery.

Happy to see another Gokoku branch in Jurong Point Shopping Mall. There had another branch in Great World City Mall.
Crowded, despite the fact that the store had two cashiers and they were quite fast in their work, there was still a long queue.
Wide variety of bread available. Tried their bread. Good and tasty.
Would definitely buy bread from this brand again.

Selling nice breads with wide varieties. Prices a little bit more expensive than other popular bakery shops such as breadtalk but worth it. They have three to four outlet in Singapore. The ahop even offers plastic hand grooves near the entrance if you are particular about hygiene. They also list out the top 5 best seller’s breads in the shop for your choices.

The Uji Matcha Log Cake from Gokoku Japanese Bakery is made with quality Uji tea powder from Ujien, Kyoto, green tea powder. The fluffy sponge cake paired with the finest chunky or whole-bean style red bean paste (aka Tsubuan 粒あん) is produced from organically cultivated red beans in Japan. I am not a big fan of matcha desserts but the subtle bitterness of matcha in this cake perfectly complemented the refined sweetness of the light tsubuan cream. I never thought I’d say this but… I loved it! $32.90 for 17cm Log Cake (they have 3 flavours – Uji Matcha, Hojicha and Chocolatey Bliss). The Christmas bread pastries were also delightful.

A refreshing addition to the bakery scene. Freshly baked Cakes are the rage but do try those Buns and bread too. Prices are friendly and service staff are prompt to recommend or explain the ingredients that goes into the cakes. Note that most are chiffon cakes with “lava” oozing out when cut. Yummy.

By far one of the best breads shops I’ve ever been too. High quality bread compared to those $1 ones you find at mrt shops, those are in my opinion garbage. Although the prices of this shop is around $2 per bun, I’m willing to spend that amount for a delicious and non-dry bread.

I don’t like all the breads though, there are some for tea lovers(strong tea taste) and some for old people(almost bland) which I tried and regret. So moral of the story, just buy whatever looks good because I was skeptical at the two that I regretted buying.

Reasonably priced bread that is of good quality and uses healthy grains. Stepping into the bakery, I was impressed with the different variety of bread, and the use of unique combination of ingredients. I had the Shio Vanilla Kurumi scone ($2), and this was really tasty. Once you get the taste of the salt in the centre of the bun, it really adds a new dimension to the scone which also has walnuts. I also had the potato mentaiko mayo bun ($2.10), which gave me fluffy mashed potato. At first I struggled to taste the mentaiko, but it turns out they were in clumps, and once you get to them, the flavour is intense. I probably will return for a taste of their other buns.

Gokoku, a quaint little Japanese bakery that located at Juront point basement, offers a variety of yummy and healthy bread. From full of grains bread to chessey and creamy loaf, you will be spoiled for choice and torn apart which bread to try on as the bread are baked so fresh that it runs out once it’s out from the oven. Queue is usually long especially during peak hour. Staff are friendly and the best part is, when you use your own recycle bag, they are more than happy to charge you 10 cents lesser for not using their plastic bag. Save the earth and save money too! In all, you will not miss this lovely bread store if you walked pass it as the aroma of the bread lingers all day long!

They make one of the best buns in Singapore. This is the first time we ordered the chocolate medley cake. The chocolate cream is rich and not too sweet while the cake remains moist. The chocolate lava has a slight alcoholic taste to it, so yummy! You won’t notice that the cake is made from rice flour instead of regular wheat flour. Absolutely divine!

A very good experience buying bread at gokoku all these while, the whole family loves their breads. Taking this opportunity to point out that my mother has received splendid customer experience from a staff named Trem who reminded her that the breads are fresh out of the oven and are hot to touch. She is thoughtful and understands customers’ concerns. Well done!

Bought the lava cake. Was not as good as i expected. Nice looking cake. However the cake texture and taste was average.

Pretty good variety of bread that you dont usually see in bakeries. Fans of bread with cream or fruit filings can try out this bakery.
