My good friend recommended a Niang Toufu stall called 喜相逢 to me last year, ever since then I only stick to it when feel like eating 酿豆腐…
No kidding, they are famous for their soup, super delicious & no MSG. They used a lot of beans & ikan bilis to boil till the soup is thick & tasty, you can taste the natural sweetness in the soup…
My advice for those who never tried before to avoid peak hour as the stall is so famous that always super long Q, I should say the longest Q among all the other stalls in this hawker centre…
I usually go around 11+am or before 12pm, but for those who never tried before, really worth it to wait as it is cheap & good…
One more reminder, pls don’t join the Q straight away as you should pick what you like, place the order then only go join the Q…

Traditional hawker centre with many famous stalls, like the famous Mee Rebus, satay Bee Hoon, chicken rice, prawn noodles, crayfish noodles, Yong tau foo and hokkien noodles. And the most famous of all is the awesome fried carrot cake (white only) stall who competed with Gordon Ramsey in the Singtel challenge a few years back. You are indeed spoiled for choices here.

Great wet market and food / hawker center. There is a nice Chinese tea shop inside the market with a small but good selection of green and oolong teas. You can find a post office, a Courts electronics store and a lot of other small shops and health services here. If you are looking for kitchen / cooking supplues and hardware, check out the store right next to the market. Glassware, pots, pans, knives etc. you name it – they have it. We live to come here on weekends for breakfast or lunch.

Hawker center located in central of Ang Mo Kio near MRT. Food at reasonable prices and wide variety of selection. The yong tau hu store is popular and always have a queue. The duck rice is pretty decent, served with fragant yam rice and decent portion of tender duck meat for 3-4 dollars. Would recommend. Stalls closes at 8 pm or so.

Many food stalls here are somewhat famous with queues always which includes malay stall yunos, Xi Xiang Feng Yong tau Fu, Fried Kway Teow, Duck Rice (Centre R
row) Fried Carrot Cake, Wanton Mee, Minced Meat Noodle (last row corner),.. But of course famous doesn’t mean superb la. Just usually got queues. While not worth the queues but their quality still quite fine. Personally I would have preferred the Minced Meat noodle at the last row corner. Its just quite different from elsewhere But be prepared… Most 1st timers would not have expected the black face service hence usually affected by the bad service experience.

Oh my… My old neighbourhood makan place! Lol
I love this hawker! Has some of my favourite food!
Many varieties of food here. Some Malay stalls at one section.

They have Yong Tau Fu, Wonton noodles, Western food, fruit juice, fried hokkien mee, oyster omelette, char tau kuey, chicken rice, duck rice, hot and cold desserts, special fried rice stall, bak chang and many many more to savour your taste buds!

All I can say is enjoy! Yummy

I tried the Indian Rojak, nice choice they have. But only to realised after eating their sauce, it’s filled with MSG… My tongue became numb and I felt so thirsty!
Oh well… Guess I will eat without the sauce in future. Lol

    Recently, March ’18
I’ve tried the Satay Beehoon, beside the Special fried rice stall… I must say I did not enjoy it at all. Not much ingredients for a medium sized portion, sauce is missing something that doesn’t have the oomph taste… Out of 5* I only give 1.5*.
Try at your own risk. Lol

The stall with the longest queue here is the Yong Tau Foo. Two satay beehoon stalls vie for your attention here: it’s a true blue Singapore-spawned dish of the baby-boomers that didn’t quite win fans over time. (The last time this Gen-X ate satay beehoon was well over a decade ago!). There is also this noodles at the back that comes with fried wanton skins: just the skins, no stuffing, like keropok.
