Old design, room sound proofing especially poor, probably due to long build history. I’m staying in a single-bedder room.

    Doctors and nurses are great.

Unless your dedicated doctor uses this hospital or maybe because of whatsoever reason or maybe rusty feeling is preferred. I propose not to choose this hospital.
I was here due to my doctor and it’s nearer to my house.

Oh, I waited 2 hours for medicine during discharge and I’m rushing for an appt.

One of Parkway Group’s major hospitals in Singapore. Popular but do research on the specialist doctor you will be seeing and ask about charges including hospital ward fees to avoid unnecessary grief when the bill comes.

Parking is limited so it is best to take a cab there where possible. There is a cafe on the ground floor. A food court within the Botanics Gardens is also within walking distance. Alternatively, head towards Tanglin Mall.

If truth be told, they are not a lot faster than other restructured hospitals. But if you are looking for quality medical care, you will not be disappointed. Cost is of course high (what did you expect)? But you get what you pay for.

Had a lovely experience at gleneagles in the Paediatric department, as good as one can hope for given the circumstances… Nurses were attentive and often would appear within a few seconds of pressing the call bell. The food was decent, surprisingly tasty… The cleaning staff were excellent… Rooms were very spacious and facilities very clean, much cleaner than other hospitals I had visited in Singapore! Thanks to the staff for making our stay as pleasant as possible whilst my daughter recovered.

    Just checked out this afternoon…

room – stayed in a single room but because all single rooms were full I was upgraded to a superior room. The temperature must have been set at 18 deg C or less and not feeling too well (which is why I was in the hospital to begin with) I complained about the cold. To my disappointment, the room did not have any thermostat control at all but was chilled by a central aircon. To make matters worse, the blanket on the bed is worse than the worst of Chinese budget airline blankets – it seemed like a cheap wafer thin cotton blanket! I woke up in the morning with a running nose – for a person who hardly gets a cold.

service – staff communication was at best very basic. I was not told when I would be wheeled down for my medical procedure. The porter suddenly showed up with the wheel chair and announced that it was time to go down. No warning of his arrival, leaving me with no time to pack up and change for the medical procedure.

all in – an experience no better than a second class subsidised government hospital.

Best endoscopy Centre I’ve been so far! Lovely food selection, served after completing a. Simple colonoscopy. Very affordable colonoscopy hospital bundles in town.. Must remember to choose hospital bundles, can save a lot of money!. Well and newly furnished, and even gave me a blanket to keep myself warm. Nurse manager attended to me and ensured that I was prepared for the colonoscopy. Recovery beds are very comfortable and spacious. No complications and nurses were very professional.

Was there a weekend ago to accompany my relative who was admitted for 2 nights for observation and diagnostic tests. I must say that I was impressed right from the moment we stepped out from the lift.

The staff from concierge, clinic, ward and even food court staff was friendly and helpful. The encounters throughout the 6 hours I spent there was pleasant to say the least.

There was no doubt waiting time for admission but the wait was nothing that was inconvenient and inefficient. Commendable efforts put into making the environment and experience as comfortable as possible for patients and visitors. At least it was for us.

P.s. There are limited carpark lots hence be prepared to pay extra for valet service unless you are willing and able to wait. Not the cheapest rate too, but it shouldn’t come as a surprise too 😉

I would recommend Dr. Fong Kee Siew for bilateral lower eyelid surgery. She is very patience and skillful, and I was referred to her by Dr. Chan from Atlas Eye Specialist.

For the ward admission, the waiting time to get paperwork completed is longer than expected estimated 30-45 mins while waiting for the room confirmation and in the end didn’t get the single bedded room as stated in note due to their priorities. I was given a double-bedded room. Besides the negativity, nurses are quite friendly and accommodating, food was average and served on time.

    Thank you.

It is not a hospital!! made to pay $70,000 for a simple hand fracture!! Without any notice, the doctor conducted all kind of test and ICU stuff and they relented only when we told them – don’t have insurance – then promptly discharged. Disgraceful attitude of doctors – admin staff was very helpful though.

This grand old dame of private hospitals in Singapore has a long history of life-saving anecdotes in many families, including mine. Yesterday, it was that of my wife’s ex-colleague.

Convenient if you take the train. MRT is just right outside. By car, it’s a hair pulling experience. Queue just to drive in and out of a single entrance exit by a major road. The drop off point traffic is atrocious. Valet makes it worse by choking the flow. Parking is terribly tight and small. Wrong exit signage adds to the injury. Elevators are mind boggling poorly optimized. All going up or down at the same time and stopping at every floor. As simple as allocating by floors will speed things up immensely. People at the back don’t need to squeeze their way out of overcrowded elevators and holding up the elevator time. Food options are terribly limited, that is if the food counters are even open. But the management doesn’t seem to care, do they? Any intern can tell you what’s wrong and provide simple low hanging fruit solutions.

Nurses in the VVIP ward (10 West) were always seen gathering at the nurses station chit chatting and gossiping loudly to one another about their colleagues in inappropriate comments. Poor infection control when handling patients. No empathy when addressing patient’s concern as well. Now I know where the good services came from. Not from the nursing staffs but the concierge staffs. Really disappointing . Drs here aren’t empathetic towards patients compared to government hospital drs. The care and concern from public health drs are commendable

My doctor here was great. Though the entire experience in the hospital facilities and customer service was not the same. Not all the staff are well trained in their people relation skills. They get the job done, but you don’t necessarily feel relieved after. Feels more like an in n’ out hospital. Nothing good to eat here as well while you wait.

This is my first time to do some medical check up and also some a little surgeon in Singapore.

First I asked the Parkway Agent about the recommended doctor for Indonesian at the hospital, especially for my GERD and Gastritis disease which is gastrology. I booked with a doctor named Dr. Dede.

At first I consulted with him at the hospital. From the conversation, I can feel the different between indonesian and singaporean doctor which is he asked me several questions in detail and there’s no need to hurry, if you have problems about your body just tell them. At this point, I was charged one consultation with a full payment of USG.

After that I’ve got recommended to do endoscopy and USG since the doctor need to know what already happened inside my stomach. Then for tomorrow I do endoscopy and USG at the hospital. In brief, I did endoscopy in different room with the doctor and his assistant.

Before doing the endoscopy, I have got my medical status checked and injected anesthesia. I have got a nice experience in doing endoscopy since it’s so neat and very good management. After doing the endoscopy and USG, I paid the total amount of endoscopy treatment + the biopsy to be analyzed.

Then I went to see a doctor, and he said to wait for 24 hours since the biopsy need to be confirmed whether it has a bacteria or not, so the doctor told me to meet him tomorrow. At this time, I didnt pay any consultation fee to the doctor which is different than in Indonesia.

Then tomorrow I have got my result bout the detail of my disease then the doctor gave me some medication and need to email to him about my progress every 3/4 weeks to adjust the medication. This feature doesn’t exist in Indonesia to email the progress to the doctor. When I paid for my medication, I only paid the medication and hospital facility fee, and there is no consultation fee again. This fact awestruck me and rates the hospital in singapore is very great in doing the service.

Overall, I suggest for all foreigners who want to do some medication in Singapore, you can visit this hospital!

A special thank you to Dr. Reuben Wong and all the staff at Level 6 ward, especially Sister Maggie and Bi Cang!

Last Saturday, I was diagnosed with an intestinal virus and admitted due to dehydration and abdominal discomfort. However, I was very fortunate to have crossed paths with so many angels in scrubs. Dr. Reuben of Gutcare was super friendly and professional, he was able to quickly point out the root cause and prescribe me the necessary steps to recovery. The nurses at Level 6 worked round the clock to constantly monitor my vitals and change the IV drips, especially Sister Maggie and Bi Cang who went above and beyond to assist me with my daily movement and cheered me up with their warm personalities.

Words are not enough to thank you for your strength, courage, and dedication, especially during these trying times. Being on the frontline isn’t easy, and you have my heartfelt appreciation for all that you do.

Praying for your safety and protection as you do your job helping others. Once again, thank you, Dr. Reuben, Sister Maggie, Bi Cang, and all the staff who took care of me at Ward 635 this week! You are amazing! ️

The care was average–not exceptional, but nothing to complain about. I took my friend there. What was unacceptable was the bill. She had to stay overnight and I covered the cost for her because she doesn’t make a large amount of money. For a very simple procedure (draining a cyst), they kept her overnight and charged me $7000. Either they charge too much or they scammed me with an inflated bill. It took me 2 months of budgeting to pay that credit card charge off. I’ll die before I seek medical treatment in Singapore again.

    – their IV drip, they will do a numb injection over the hand like very mini ant bite before putting the IV injection. Literally no pain for the IV drip.
    – they will put a thin cushion over the arm for the BP monitoring so arm also no pain not tight and skin will not be sensitive
    – the operating theatre, got heater below the body so your body literally feel very cozy and warm
    – I woke up to 2 blanket and they keep checking on you

Not enough beds . Had to wait for nearly 4 hours to get confirmation on beds and i got a 2 bedder. Requsted for 4 bedder for a day stay. Get prepared for the $$$$ as it is very expensive. If you are waiting outside Operating theater for your loved ones, prepare to stand for a couple of hours before you csn get a seat. Its always packed outside, not enough seating capacity. I would suggest if they could arrange for a waiting room with facilities like television, coffee tea dispensers etc. Only immediate family members should be allowed as i can see overseas patients family members occupy the whole area of the lobby outside the operating theatre. Management should look into this.

I’ve been admitted twice in this hospital and made diametrically opposed experiences within the same week.
First one was excellent! Level 8 staff was always ready, going the extra mile for a bit of added physical an mental comfort. Medicine (painkillers) was always delivered on time, for extra treatments, they’d do their best to reach out to doctors and get their opinions or approval in the shortest time possible. The most notable quality of this experience besides the professionalism, was their genuine KINDNESS and politeness. A greeting first thing in the morning, a “sleep well” in the evening and a caring smile each time you’d pass by, making this entire undesirable experience a bit more enjoyable.
For my 2nd admission (level 9) after lung complications within the same week, I have made one of the worst experiences in my life AFTER the most traumatic night of my life.
I couldn’t do much due to my breathlessness and shattered thorax so for the first 3 hours I was left shivering, thirsty and without medication even though I asked for a blanket, asked for water and medication was already prescribed. There were no answers to my “good mornings” nor any other form of response. The smiles and caring attitude turned into dismissive looks and unprofessionalism throughout the day again when left this time without medication for 4 hours. I have ended up dragging myself out of the hospital, to a pharmacy and buy my own painkillers. Doors were slammed, lights switched on during the night and forgotten on, talking in the loudest voice, new patients brought in always included hitting my bed or loud telephone calls. To make things worse, when asking kindly for a bit more consideration towards other patients, I was literally dismissed by a porter (Roslan) with a “go away” like gesture.
And yes there are cockroaches, bathroom cleanness is definitely not there, both bathroom sinks were clogged, towels sometimes stained. Food is fantastic though!
Doctors are really among the best on the island. Very professional and attentive.
Have I mentioned that it is one of the most expensive hospitals in Singapore?
The same experience was made unfortunately by my good friend and colleague who’s wife got admitted at the same time with me. Diagnosed with measles, incapable of eating nor drinking, forgotten for 12h without intubation for hydration nor medication. Which turn her situation from a bad one to a Intensive Care Unit one by developing pneumonia and a general drop in her state. Level 4 staff, was just as brutal, dismissive and uncaring just as level 9. When asked for blankets or water or minor tasks the answer was constantly “we’re very busy” or “I don’t have time for this”. The pressure of an ICU unit is understandable because it’s “intensive” but at the same time there’s a “CARE” in it too.

I had chronic low back pain and shoulder pain treated by chiropractor Dr. Kawai. I couldn’t raise my arm above the horizontal due to pain and catching, but after the treatment, I was able to raise it vertically without pain or catching. The back pain that was painful to walk has become a little easier. He also taught me how it works and kindly taught me the care that I can do myself. I think it depends on the degree of deterioration of shoulders and lower back, but it is recommended.

Amazingly comprehensive private healthcare facility attached to the hospital. Relatively easy to get to but make sure your bills can be covered by private insurance or Medicare instead of OOP (out-of-pockrt).

I stayed at gleneagles hospital for seven days. I was glad to be in the hands of the nurses from station 9 east and of Dr. Desmond Wai. They all have been so kind and cared me on 24 hours a day. Dr. Wai and also the nurses have been so competent and professional and they also have been very relaxed. Their is a very good atmosphere on the station and the most important reason of my healing Is the whole team and Dr. Wai. Thank you for all.

Entire family comes here for medical! Excellent doctors and nurses! Clinics are good as most of them are specialists, definitely worth the money. Carpark is too small and not enough lots for the amount of patients Gleneagles have! A big plus point is the valet! Definitely one of the best hospitals. Newly opened Starbucks is good as well

Friendly and helpful nurses but waiting time can be long. Waited an Hour at A&E to see the doctor, another hr plus to see the specialist. Hospital was fully occupied so i was being transferred to Mount E novena, which the whole duration took 6 hrs from time of registration to settling down in my ward.

Was admitted and stayed in ward 5 East from 11 Sept – 21 Sept. I felt very well taken care of by the professional nurses, aunty Hoon that delivers food & aunty Kumartha that cleans my room. Nurses were fast to attend to me whenever I press the call button, most of the nurses also puts on a warm smile and were patient towards me while I was bedridden after surgery. Both aunty that delivers food and cleans my room were very friendly, diligent and constantly encouraged me. Was literally looking forward to see these 2 aunty everyday. Just felt that I was super lucky to be at ward 5 East and met these nice people during my lowest point, a big big thank you once again if you ever see this post.

My husband went there for emergency with high fever.

The doctor was mostly interested in adding on tests to make money and kept saying u can claim it from insurance.

I don’t mind spending on health but i didn’t like the attitude. it seemed more business like. They sold us antibiotics before the result of the test and said if test is negative you can use it next time.

There’re two food court which open to public and two coffee shop (deli France & kaya toast). But the eating area is not so big and hard to find the seats sometimes…

Guardian is located at the medical centre so you can buy something there.
At the lobby, the children can enjoy watching some fishes inside the aquarium

For me, I always feel the aircon is strong so some people might be cold at this hospital so it’s better to bring a Long-sleeve shirt or cardigan especially when you are sick.

Overall experience – I went in the Accident and the Emergency section and it took them 5 hours!!! There isn’t enough room to even wait. AND It’s VERY expensive! It would have been faster and cheaper to fly to India and see the best specialist!! (NOT KIDDING YOU!)

Staff – The interaction with the doctor was also just about okay, nothing to write home about. The nurses though were excellent!

Parking – A lot of people have commented about the problem. I went in a cab so I can’t say much but I did hear people coming in and asking about parking. Also, I saw that just for valet service, they charge $10.

This grand old dame of private hospitals in Singapore has a long history of life-saving anecdotes in many families, including mine. Yesterday, it was that of my wife’s ex-colleague.

Something never changed. Yes, including the insufficient car parking capacity, the never-ending traffic diversions, and renovations.

But hey, who cares when life matters

Disappointed! My wife came in for routine knee surgery a(October 1) I placed her in a private room. Hardly anyone came in to check on her. She had to ask for her food. My wife had to ask for assistance to urinate, at one point she accidentally wet the bed and they did not change her sheets; slept in it all night. Water to drink came late. There were no extra blankets in the overly cold room as I slept in the sofa-sleeper. Honestly, $600 for a private room begs the question, “Why?”

I have admitted to this hospital for few times already, and my partner as well. The staffs and doctors are always good, nice and friendly. The ONLY THING is, at night (every night) the staffs are too noisy. It’s like they’ve forgotten that the patients are sleeping, it’s seems like most of them are having fun, just keep laughing and laughing. And every move that they do…. They cannot do it without a noise. Please do not get me wrong, Im a heavy sleeper . That’s why I made this comment. Beside of noises everything is good

I came to A&E today due to a fall. Very quickly, I was attended to with ECG done and shortly after an Xray was done. I must commend Nurse Anna as she was exemplary in carrying out her duties while informing and updating me constantly. I felt safe in her hands dr Yip was caring and friendly too, clearly explaining the case of my chest pain
I would like to thank both of them. They do gleneagles A&E dept proud

We were at Gleneagles Hospital today as my husband had cataract surgery.
The concierge ,Mr Muhammad Chan came up to our room with a wheelchair to pick my husband to the taxi stand after his rest from the day surgery, was a very helpful staff.

He not only did what he normally do, but he went all out to book a cab for us as i was queuing for a taxi to take us home.

The queue was quite long and my poor husband was sitting in the wheelchair ,exposed to the fumes of the passing taxis and evening sunlight which was detrimental to his newly operated eye.

Mr M Chan took the initiative to ask if he could help booked a taxi for us.
I was so grateful to him.
Kudos to him and also to Glen Hospital for having such a dedicated staff.
Thank you so much Mr M.Chan.

For those first time going to the medical centre. To avoid losing your way and to save time.
Drive directly to B3 (basement 3).
There is only a lift lobby to the medical centre, you won’t be confused with the hospital lobby.
Then take the lift (only 1 lift to level 2) to Level 2, Level 2 is the “ground floor”. It is also the level for you to go to the various floors.

    Crowded medical centre.
The level 2 staff (customer service) is very well-versed with the locations of various Doctors. Impressive!
Please google and make appointment to get the Doctor you require.
