The vegetable quality was lousy, bought 2 brocoli n the next day when wanted to cook, found that they were already not fresh n inside were brown n with worms. No wonder they were priced as 1 price for 2 pcs ..if vegetables are not good, shld not even attempt to sell to consumers at all.
Came all the way to get chicken cube unfortunately could not get one even the shelf are partially clear… …
Doesn’t have everything, but it has goods with a FairPrice! Haha, get it? Also it accepts a lot of payment modes, so that’s something to point out.

The rest of tenants literally flip every few years despite this place terrific location of near a very busy junction, library and big carpark. There used to be a 24hours halal food court too. And 2 previous supermart until giant , the current anchor tenant seem to have lasted a fair bit. Thumbs up to the 24houra opening service. Of, of course fortune restaurant changed ownership to swatow , but the restaurant is still the same haha
24 hours. Beat the crowd by going after 3am.. the whole place is yours!

Not much variety
I like this neighborhood supermarket as I used to come here to cut hair then buy some buns and roti prate and tidbit to bring to Kenneth’ s place for his three children Gieselle Raphael and Gabby. The supermarket has a lot of variety, very easy to get them and price is reasonable. If there is an offer people will buy more to consume later.
Outlet is quite organised as compared in the past.

The open air carpark had plenty of space during a weekday, late afternoon visit. Average crowd.
Staff were absent at the fish section the day I visited, so no one to help clean and gut the fish.
One likely problem is not suitable for a visit during rainy days.
Neighbourhood giant express. Value for money
Very central. Large selection of produce. Have to hunt out the bargains, though. And its also good to know when the produce comes in to get the freshest deals, e.g. the fish.

Competing with 2 Fairprice supermarkets nearby, this Giant branch may be overlooked by many shoppers. The store is small compared to its above mentioned competitors & there always seems to be an odd smell in Giant supermarkets. At least its 24 hrs & may be convenient for Library goers since toa Payoh library is just next door.
Quiet. Not crowded
Friendly people there. However, you have to hunt for cheap items there as there is a couple of rules which makes it difficult for all cheap items to be hung out near the cashier area ( i.e. fire hazard etc.)

Some products are lowest priced among the 3 major supermarts.
My first time visiting this store at Toa Payoh. It is much like the other Giant Supermarkets, so there is a sense of familiarity with the store. I am not sure though, since it was in the late afternoon that I visited, if many customers have had their “runs” through the supermarket, that the display in the fresh produce section looked somewhat dis-organised.
A pretty big supermarket selling affordable goods ranging from groceries to basic household appliances. However, staff here are pretty rude and not very helpful.

Not a good Giant here can’t even get a miso
Pretty much a standard supermarket but with limited items as the place is small. Don’t expect to find lots of things here, like shaver but it’s pretty good for groceries shopping. If you go in at late night, it’s really quiet and nicer but there’s only one cashier and that cashier might not always be at the checkout so do look for the cashier and bring to the checkout
UPDATE: The cashiers that work here in the daytime tend to be some of the rudest people in a supermarket, the queue tends to be very long cause they are busy talking to each other instead of opening up more counters and you can tell they are opening up counters because they are bringing petty cash and placing them in the registers but they take twice the time because of their constant chatter during a busy period.
All I can say is, lucky for you, the Giant management has decided to go with self checkout (finally) and it’s so much better using that

This Giant is not big but still got a variety of food and groceries you need. It’s near to carpark and is rather convenient.
Wait or look for offer then buy or reduced to sell items that is still good eg ripe mangoes good for jam making. Cheap and good. It is a adventure looking around.

Variety has improved now. Merchandise in constantly rearranged neatly. Fruits, veggies, and meat/fish is neatly arranged and priced for easy purchase choices.
Too much rearrangement so the aisles are mislabeled at the overhead signs.
I am delighted at the daring to display trays of fruits like cheries and langsat for tasting and even a dustbin provided to allow disposal of seeds and skins of fruits.
There enough cashiers and queues are short. Right now I would give Giant 6/10 for quality and choice
They should stop packaging fruits already spoilt and damaged for sale even at reduced cost. They can do it for reduced price packages.
They could sell cut fruit salvaged from slightly damaged fruits.

Opened 24/7, just like McDonald’s. If you want to get fruit and vegetables, please check carefully. A lot of those are left there even after they start moulding or start rotting! Otherwise, it’s good for the other stuff one usually buy at supermarkets.

It’s a hit and miss. On a lucky day, fruits and vegetables seem to be newly stocked and super fresh. On other days, shelves are mostly empty with ugly and stale looking produce. Staff are generally friendly except for the guy at the fresh pork station. Good that it is a 24hr outlet next to a hugh carpark.

Alternative to ntuc
A nice place for me to shop.
I like the plastic trolleys that they have. Light and easy to manoeuvre. But nowadays not too many are left. And the few are used by Giant staff for transporting their goods and baskets around the supermarket.
Hope the management would replenish these plastic trolleys to sufficient numbers that both the customers and staff can make use of them. Probably can incorporate some security features so that borrowed or stolen trolleys could be traced and recovered back.

12 February 2021 after 01:00.With the recent renovations,Giant have ample space to accommodate more groceries. Unfortunately,that space is not fully utilized with minimal variety.With fierce competition from Ntuc Fairprice of Two Supermarkets and Two Mini Marts,Giant could step up it’s product selections but it failed to live up to it’s name.The reason why Giant receives many shoppers?Giant operates around the clock offering fresh produce and groceries to shoppers who finish work late.Friendly cashiers and staff are willing to assist.
