The fruits and vegetables are not at all fresh, maybe because they are not stored in air-conditioned area, but on the corridor outside. They are costlier than the nearby Fairprice too. The shop is not all that spacious either.

The Chinese auntie working there is not very nice and a bit racist. It almost seems like she is bullying her own Indian colleague. Today, around 7.30pm there was a queue because the indian lady made a mistake. The Chinese auntie went to help but she abandoned her own cashier to help, which is fine but she shouldn’t have just left her own cashier empty and allow the queue to form until the road. What was really triggering was that the Chinese auntie was constantly scolding the Indian lady or raising her voice against her in front of all the customers while everyone was waiting. Its not the first time I’ve seen her talk to the Indian lady in such a way as I live around the area. I understand that the older generation might be abit coarse with their language but it is not nice to humiliate your own colleague in front of so many customers, many of whom are chinese aunties around their age speaking in mandarin. How would the Indian lady feel? I’m chinese myself and I can sense the racism in the times I’ve seen this happen. I’m leaving a review because I’m afraid the indian cashier might lose her job. She has been very nice and patient when she checks out my groceries. She might be a bit slow or there might have internal drama happening there. Mistakes happen but it’s not an excuse to act like that especially in a neighbourhood market. Like I mentioned above, I’m just writing because it was quite appalling and I hope both of them are fine and neither of them lose their job because they are old and it’ll be hard to get another job outside, I just hope something can be done so that the workplace is healthier for the people working there and for the customers to shop without experiencing such unprofessionalism.

Consolation for UOB account holders as there are 2 ATMs and 2 Cash Deposit machines just right outside. Plus it’s 24 hours.
