Attended the SG Bicentennial Experience at Fort Canning Centre on 2July2019. . . commemorating the 200th anniversary of Raffles landing in Singapore. The multimedia sensory experience is fantastic. . . don’t miss it before it ends on 15September2019.

There are free bus shuttle rides outside City Hall and Dhoby Ghaut MRT stations to Fort Canning for this show and exhibition at the centre. If you prefer walking up to the top of Fort Canning, take the escalators from the left side of the National Museum building at Stamford Road.

Came here for the Singapore Bicentennial show. To be honest it was really quite good. I do not have high expectations when my wife dragged me here. I thought it was just one of those wayans that Singapore public service organization has to do because some one up there said so. But it was quite well done and creative in the way it was presented. Kudos to the team who created the show. Not bad at all, worth a visit if you have not been and it’s free. If you run out of things to do over the weekend go see this. Please book in advance though. By the way take a walk around Fort Canning park. It has also been transformed. Much better than I last remembered. Good place to spend a couple of hours there.

After the whole Bicentennial Experience, we are now more thankful for the things we had taken for granted in the past… like clean water, a comfortable place to live, or even free WIFI in the Starbucks Cafe where I am writing this.

Fort Canning is in the urban area, but you can’t feel the hustle and bustle of the bustling city when you walk here. It is peaceful, surrounded by turquoise, and some trees seem to be quite old. Many brides, grooms, and couples come here to take pictures. Shoot, make a lifetime commitment!

    福康宁在市区中,但是走在这里感觉不到闹市的喧哗,这里一片宁静,周围都是青绿色,而且有些树龄象是蛮大的,还看到不少的新娘新郎、情侣来这里取景拍摄,许下终身的承诺!

The SG Bicentennial experience was… awesomely impressive . A whole range of multi-senorial, delicately curated experience of the Singapore story spanning 5 Acts over 7 centuries. This will be a necessary stop for my tourist friend. What a brilliant idea to exploit the rain element as a symbol of challenges Singapore faces beginning with its historic first National Day Parade. I stood under the with tears of gratitude and pride. Kudos to the team at Bicentennial!

The fact that it is free and well organised(with details like audio aids) – complete with pickup and drop-off points at Plaza Singapore and Raffles City really helps. Our pioneer n Medeka generation should not miss this…in fact it should be the first history lesson for our preschoolers!!! Better yet, why not keep it open like a National Gallery of sorts so that every Singaporean will be able to relate our history beyond “Sir Stamford Raffles founded Singapore… or was it Sang Nila Utama…”

We stumbled upon the arts centre while walking though Fort Canning Park. The exhibition at the time was the Garden Photographer of the Year and the entries were excellent. However, this is irrelevant if you’re visiting at a later date.

Other than this exhibition, there wasn’t much else going on. That said, I’d take a trip to the centre, even if to just stop in for a refreshment from the vending machine and avoid the stifling midday heat while walking through the park, but don’t make a point of coming here unless there’s a particular exhibition you wish to see.

The whole hillside had been transformed with escalators at different levels, bringing the ascent a much more enjoyable experience. A couple of fountains dotted the sidewalks, a cooling respite from the smothering heat. The Centre had been retrofitted with upgraded restrooms. Good air-conditioning system and considerations for the elders. Excellent Bicennental show, narrated well and a very touching experience. Especially the wet, raining NDP. Was here for the Singapore Bicentennial Experience in August 2019, and was blown away by the detail orientation and advanced museum setups. It’s quite crazy to see how much effort they’ve put in to do up the entire place, from having waterfalls and lights, to moving platforms and smoke in telling stories, and the ultimate raining room with LED surround. I’m personally not a history person, especially not when I’ve been hearing about the Singapore history for the last 30 years of my life, but this was indeed enjoyable.

The SG Bicentennial Experience exhibition at the Fort Canning Center is a fantastic multimedia show. Take the free shuttle service from City Hall or Dhoby Ghaut MRT station or take the escalator on the left side of the National Museum at Stamford Road to walk there. Be sure to book your free tickets at the website before proceeding there as they do not accept walk in visitors without tickets at the show entrance.

It’s a lovely park that hosts the Bicentennial celebration which was pretty wall done. However, the external exhibits were lacking in content. Generally a peaceful park for early morning or evening walks. It does get pretty hot from noon onwards.

Visited bicentennial show at fort canning… The center and the surrounding parks have been kept very clean, despite the heavy rush experienced coz of the ongoing shows and presentations… The parks are best for long walks

My local friend recommended me to visit here to enjoy “From Singapore to Singaporean: The Bicentennial Experience.”
The free shuttle bus is provided from the nearest MRT station.
The presentation was quite fascinating and I could easily understand the history of Singapore with various visual methods.
Recommend those who comes to Singapore within this year.

One of the oldest parks in Singapore. If it survived the world war (2), it can’t be a bad place… I guess?

The registry of marriage for Singapore citizens is located within the park as well, so don’t be surprised to see wedding couples come hand in hand to celebrate life over here as well.

Excellent bicentennial experience! Definitely worth a quick and free visit. Do book ahead as this is by reservation only. I’m impressed with the level of investment in the mixed media experience, which includes a couple immersive shorts, as well as an act which includes you standing in a simulated rain fall.

If I can offer room for improvement, some of the acts are hard to understand as the sound of the narrator is sometimes overshadowed by the sound effects or music. But this doesn’t takeaway from the fact that this is a super quality production.
