For lovers of local food. The mixed vegetable rice has the usual wide spread of tasty dishes. There’s also the house special: Bee’s truffle wanton noodles. Basically the familiar dumpling noodles doused with some truffle oil. Worth a try just for the kick of it.

Wanted to have dinner here. Most stalls are opened but more than 50% of tables are “reserved” by zhi char stall.. is it fair for the other vendors?

A local style of food in this place and relatively not clean table and chairs. But big place with natural air. Many food stalls here. Let me give some suggestions of food stall to try.

The wanton noodle has a special truffle wanton noodle. This stall is famous and a lot of people comes to eat their wanton noodle. The inexpensive normal wanton noodle is not worth trying. You have to try the truffle wanton noodle and the soft bone ribs noodle. These 2 are above average in taste and definitely worth trying.

The roast duck and roast pork stall is not worth trying.

The zhi char stall has changed to a new owner. It sells at a relatively higher price but the taste of some of the food is good. But sometimes too salty for older folks. Some example of food tried is steam fish which is very nicely done and taste not salty. Rice wine white clams are nice but too salty in taste rather than sweet. Sambal chilli veggies is good. Tofu with spinach is very good. It gets sold out. Some of the rice dishes are good.

The rest of the stalls are below average and serve food at a reasonable cost for the community. I will call these “food to keep you alive” taste.

The stalls here changes quite often. The above mentioned stalls are stalls that have been around for at least a year and open at night too. Some stalls only open in the day time.

However, the management is terrible. Tables are not clean properly. When asking the cleaner to clean, the cleaner will scold you. The supervisor also thinks his cleaners are right for not cleaning tables and will scold you for telling his cleaner to clean table. So if you eat here, please clean your own table.

The economical rice/cai fan doesn’t have the usual dishes that I like to order. But theres a bonus, in the morning they have fried noodles and act like your usual economic bee hoon stall
The dim sum stall is quite big, had quite a big variety of baos and also sells porridge.
Ban mian stall behind has pretty girls manning the stall. Wanton mee stall depends on preference, my older brother loves it, to me its not as nice. Roasted delight stall, your usual stuff and they sell noodle as well but no wonton. Their duck rice is served with white rice. Only chicken rice they use the 由饭 like chicken chicken rice. Fishball noodle stall I’ve been eating their fishball noodle since I was a small kid until now still the same auntie and uncle manning the stall. So I cant be of reference as I’m used to the taste as well.

Most of the foods here are excellent! Would personally recommend the char siew from the stall that sells roasted meats (ask for char siew noodles would be fine)

Mixed veg is also really good, and i find that it beats the quality from the next door’s food court (kopitiam). Food is reliable and generally sells out by the end of the day.

Drinks are reasonably priced with iced coffee at $1.20

If nothing else, come for the roast meats and coffee. I had pork belly with fat so soft they were almost like custard, and skin airy and crisp like wafers. Char siew was perfectly done with just the right ratio (about 25%) of fat. Duck thigh was superbly tender with a thin skin like pipa duck. If I had any complaints it would be that the cuts of char siew were clearly too thin and that took away some of the great mouthfeel. Also, the roast duck seasoning was weak and one-dimensional. But hey, this is a coffeeshop afterall. Contrary to other posters, i ordered a kopi tih-loh siew siew dai and enjoyed the smokiness of the coffee that was accentuated with a hint of hazelnuts.
