The decor is great. The breakfast set is the best among all the food places at NTU. Priced at 2.40, the kind of bread u find at yakun, decent gaoness of milo and big eggs (although sometimes it’s not warm, so 4.5 stars really) but other than that, pretty good stuff.

I rate it as one of the best canteens in this campus, although the ever-changing nature of the stores can mean that standards and variety slip up. The ambience is darker than what I’d liked, and the noise can be stifling. However, I would still visit this Canteen whenever I can.

Love the Chinese food here, the price is good, tastes not that bad and the portion is huge compared to normal chze char outside. Definitely worth the money for group gatherings, although it’s abit out of reach for some, but if you are driving then it’s definitely a place for group lunch and dinner.

It also have a place to charge your mobile devices.

One of the many food courts in NTU, although not many varieties of food stalls available, however it is still considered a nice place comes with air-cond to enjoy a meal with ample of seating and most importantly not crowded if comparing with North and South Spines.

It’s rather a quiet place during the first-half of the year but not after 2nd-half from August. Overall, recommended place to catch up with friends and colleagues over a sumptuous Mala hotpot!

This is by far the best canteen in NTU if you talk about the interiors. Gives the best vibes. I am not a fan of any cuisine that’s served here but that was when I was new in Singapore. This was the closest canteen to my block (block 12, hall 1) and started going there for breakfasts, hot pots, pizzas, wedges, fries, drinks. And I loved all of them. The wedges at the fusion spoon have no other match. They are heavenly. There are pastries as well for those who have a sweet tooth. The mala hot pot served here is authentic, though I don’t like the taste of schezwan pepper. I prefer my hot pot without the pepper. You’ll absolutely love the canteen. And it’s open from 7 am in case you want to grab a bite before you go for a hectic day at the lab or studies.

Canteen 1 has just been renewed and is a wonderful place. It seems a very tidy and welcoming restaurant. The counters are all beautiful and serve all good dishes. There is a corner that is a sort of hot pot, besides some other counters with Asian and Western food. Very clean and bright, excellent.

Most of the stores are ok, but please avoid the economic rice store. Depending on seller, the price varied. E.g. Curry chicken, fried egg and curry vegetable usually go for around 3.50 but its 4.50 today. The stores with pricing shown are a safer bet. Try out the western food. Its pretty decent.

Do not recommend eating at the Japanese and Korean store, waited for about 20 minutes for an egg omelette rice set (mediocre, not fantastic). Also, cashier is really blur and not paying attention when taking orders (saw her give wrong change to another patron). Not too sure about the other stores though!

Situated a fair distance from the academic buildings in NTU, the canteen offers interesting food choices for those weary of usual canteen fare in school. A good stall to try might be the Chinese noodle stall, with prices ranging from 3.5 to 5 SGD for bowls of noodles. My favourite beef slice and tomatoes noodle there costs 4 SGD.

I think canteen 1 has settled on a nice concept. Not too many stalls but those that are there serves up good food. Having an anchor restaurant-in-a-canteen is great as well.
