Nice supermarket but their fruit section is in need of improvement. The fruit that is sold is inedible. For instance the “longevity peaches” have no flavour and do not ripen. They taste like potatoes and when cut have bruising throughout. Similarly i bought a red plums packet. These had absolutely no flavour, were mealy and parts were rotten. The grapes that were on special had mould growing in them. Buying the mini watermelons are hit and miss. Im certain that the fruit being sold had been in storage for months (if not years) in climate controlled silos and being sold to supermarkets at reduced prices. The fruit buyers need to taste the fruit they are buying to see that it can actually.be consumed. I’ve thrown out so much inedible fruit that I no longer buy it from the supermarket.

Want to experience the convenience in getting your item and go? This is the place, it has a scan and go counter.
Download the Ntuc fair price apps, scan the product barcode of the item you wanted. Click check out on your apps, proceed to scan QR code at the scan and go check out system.
And that is it, you can go. The payment is auto deducted from the card you have added in the apps during set up. It is a wonderful experience. No more queue. Save a lot of time, especially if you just buying one bottle of water.

There is also a Singapore pool outlets for your lottery purchase.

$0.20 plastic charged when buy from this NTUC. I compare Amway organic supplements these synthetic supplements and found that this retail synthetic supplements is almost the price of Amway Nutrilite supplements. But their ingredients content for each supplement is not “focus”. The explanation is very brief. I bought some for product demo vs Amway organic supplements, you may follow my FB or IG.

Note: brand names will be conceal during the demonstration so to provide fair trade market competition. I do this base on my own curiosity.

This FairPrice store is a medium sized store that has almost everything that you are looking for. A few of the items that I was looking for are unavailable in juices as they have limited options compared to Kallang Way FairPrice store.
Also, I found the prices of a few items on the higher side but you may want to wait for a sale to come.
The best thing is it is inside the PLQ mall and also has connectivity to the MRT.

NTUC PLQ outlet has just won another 5* rating because of the wonderful service by this staff by the name of Karen ( saw her name tag)

I was searching for a product and approached this staff for help. Usually, the standard mentality you get from staff of other supermarkets is “if you see it, you see it ”

But for NTUC PLQ’s Karen , she really the extra mile to help customers.

In addition to that, she even suggested alternatives which was really helpful.

Her pleasant personality and service standard has not gone unnoticed.

That said, I am taking the time to write her a commendation here and just want to say it’s a Job well done!

Also Good Job to PLQ branch manager for training and nurturing such a good staff.

Hope Corp Comms & HR will give her and her branch manager a pat on their shoulders for Karen’s excellent work.

Some grocery item out of stock on shell for more than 5 months and totally no repanish. For this brand coffee there is another type which is less sugar and is green in packing. They need more active cashier’s at a place this large. They also need to figure a better trolley return system. You actually have to exit the store in one spot, and wheel the trolley back to the storage area which is at the entrance. The good part is that they have a substantial variety of items including an organic section and a fresh fish and seafood area. It’s just very busy and the customer flow is a bit hectic due to the general layout not being well thought out!

There is a little Asian style bakery inside.
At the self-checkout you won’t find plastic bags, instead you’ll be charged for them. But think this is a good initiative to encourage use of reusable bags. Rest of the world has already moved far ahead with reducing single plastic use.

This branch of Fairprice earned a 5-star from me because one of the staff (Lynn Tan) was very patient and helpful. I didnt know that I can use the fairprice mobile app when I forget to bring my card. No cashier in the past told me about it, and she was kind enough to hold my transaction and attend to other customers in queue while I was downloading and recovering my fairprice account. She also did a good job packing my groceries into my own bags. Really appreciate it!
