This is one of the best NTUCs on the island but it’s definitely a destination you need to drive to. The produce and fresh items (flowers, fruit, daily made items like the packeted noodles, etc) are on the fresher side compared to all Cold Storages. This is probably because of the higher volume of produce turnover – this supermarket services a very wide area of Bukit Timah. It has a much better selection of vegetables and fresh meat than smaller NTUCs (and all Cold Storages), yet maintains the small-town NTUC vibe. The parking and dropff situation is not great, though, probably due to legacy issues with the way the building is. Cars have to turn into a narrow road in front of the building, and shoppers who are waiting for cars have to carry bags down some wide stairs. There isn’t a flat-road waiting station. No convenient way to roll your cart into the basement carpark to unload either, like more modern buildings. Still, probably worth it. There is a large 2-storey starbucks right next door, and a bunch of neighbourhood places upstairs (reflexology, small eateries, etc).
It’s a big hindrance at this shopping NTUC supermart is they do not have a loading bay for grocery shoppers

Good prices but the place is a zoo. They try to compact additional aisles so the corners are very small. On days where they have suppliers replenishing stocks, it is literally a fire hazard. On that note, they often cannot get their inventory right. 9 out of 10 times I won’t complete a shopping list. I don’t like their meats or poultry very much but for the most part vegetables and fruits are good. And good pricing. Hoping they will upgrade this one day.
I like shopping here. But I must add it is not elder-friendly. There are no ramps for our shopping trolleys. The car park has no lift either. I wish NTUC will seriously look into this. Looking forward to a hassle-free shopping experience, especially on rainy days. Rain or shine, the super marketing experience can be made convenient.

I didn’t expect much from this upgrading, but I certainly didn’t think that the previously decent range of light bulbs and fluorescent tubes would disappear from their shelves. Even worse, I was advised to visit other NTUC outlets, as if a fluorescent tube were akin to some unusual veg stocked only at selected branches. It looks like the Coronation Plaza NTUC is no longer the one-stop supermarket it used to be.

Revisited in April 2019, added the description, there is not much space inside, and the store is full of products, especially owl brand milk tea, the two fairprices on Orchard Road are out of stock, but I found it here!

Honestly not the easiest NTUC to get to, given the congested roads, but it gets the job done and thwy serve more of the nearby residents. Daily produce is rather fresh. It’s a place I’d drop by on my way home, while waiting for the bus (busstop is right outside the store).

Very easily accessible along Bukit Timah Main road. There’s a carpark too, so many people come here to do their grocery shopping. Definitely not the cheapest. But you can get most of what you need here before or after work.

This is one of NTUC’s environmentally friendly stores. NO FREE PLASTIC BAGS. We have to pay. They can do so cost there’s no competitive supermarket nearby. If there’s a ShengSiong nearby, the situation would be different. Many people pop into supermarket along the way without pre-planning, so we need plastic bags. No plastic bag is environmentally friendly but not Customer friendly.

No convenient way to roll your cart into the basement carpark to unload either, like more modern buildings. Still, probably worth it. There is a large 2-storey starbucks right next door, and a bunch of neighbourhood places upstairs (reflexology, small eateries, etc).

This is one of NTUC’s environmentally friendly stores. NO FREE PLASTIC BAGS. We have to pay. They can do so cost there’s no competitive supermarket nearby. If there’s a ShengSiong nearby, the situation would be different. Many people pop into supermarket along the way without pre-planning, so we need plastic bags. No plastic bag is environmentally friendly but not Customer friendly.

We used to get very good service buying fresh fish here but recently it is getting from bad to worse. Before they used to fillet the fish but about two months ago we were told that because customers complain that the fillet were not done nicely they had stopped doing it. A gentleman with an obsecured name tag ending with KAY said it is no longer available. Today we bought two golden snappers and asked to be cleaned ‘botak’. When we got home, the fish were partially gutted, with some fish inerts and they were not ‘botak’ as the fins were all intact as also done by this Mr KAY. This is very disappointing. They have very fresh fish but very bad service, and the fish cleaning … Other depts are very good. Hope they review and see what can be done to improve.

Kinda cramped but it’s good everything you need. Serves locals and expats living in the area for basic groceries. For the more fancy/dietary restrictions specific foods, visit the cold storage few minutes down the road (towards botanical gardens).
Fairprice Coronation Plaza will be closed for renovation works from 24 April 2022 for two months. So we’ll need to shop else where. Looking forward to the upgraded shop space in July 22.

Very conveniently located fair price outlet and quite popular with many of the expats who live in the area because it has a wide range of local products as well as important Western brands including some Tesco and Indian brands.

I like shopping here. But I must add it is not elder-friendly. There are no ramps for our shopping trolleys. The car park has no lift either. I wish NTUC will seriously look into this. I stay at Woollerton Park but do all my weekly shopping at Finest at Thompson Plaza.Overall space at Coronation Plaza is too cramped making it stressfull for both customers & staff.
