The place is good because it in the center of Singapore, but some items is very expensive then Seng Siong, I can give you 1 items like Philadelphia cheese NTUC $6.30. and Tempine Seng Siong is about $5.75. because of COVID 19. I don’t check other items prices. If is expensive 5 cents or 10 cents is OK but it more the 10 cents

A mart attracting a mixed clienteles of residential, people’s after work or non-residents. Stocking almost from canned food, perisables, domestic requisites, linen & cloth materials to hardware & household items. Despite of so many items on display the setup still enable shoppers to move orderly.

  40. Avatar photo

Our local supermarket run by NTUC. It is supposedly a cooperative run supermarket chain with fair prices for the average Singaporean. It pays to be attentive to their price tags as some grocery items are actually more expensive than Cold Storage, Prime, Giant or Sheng Siong. Bulk items are attractive, but can NTUC be considerate and kind in offer the same price for single items to the lower income customers?

Self check out lady was the worst. I went to the self checkout that allows card only because I intend to pay with card. Before I could even tap the screen, the lady shouts at me startling me and asks if I am using card. I was very taken back at her behavior and honestly annoyed for being startled. After scanning everything I was ready to pay, and the lady again shouted at me for not tapping “NTUC membership” because I would have to pay full for my shampoo… which was my intention in the first place and that I don’t even have NTUC membership.

Why would I in the first place go to a card check out? Im not an idiot. I know full well that I am paying for things full price. I am very disgusted with her behavior, and considering it was 10pm after a long day of work, I absolutely did not appreciate this kind of appaling behavior.

Some Ntuc sales notice are quite misleading especially for those items that are on 50% discount. The discount is only for ntuc member

Drinks are cheaper than convenience stores. Nestle canned coffee costs SGD 1, bottled pokka tea costs SGD 1.2, Superman French fries are sold at a special price of SGD 1, and cup noodles start at SGD 2. The first time I came there was a lot of people at 3:00 in the afternoon, so it was not a very pleasant shopping experience. If you mind, you can try to come in the morning and there will be fewer people. The shop assistants are all on the shelves at this time and there are a small number of customers. It is a pity that I personally think that the price of the bottled beauty is relatively expensive, so I did not buy it. Friends who like kaya sauce can also buy it here, and the price is about two to three Singapore dollars for a large jar. There are also a small amount of cosmeceuticals for sale here. Alcohol is not cheap in Singapore, and here is no exception. The disadvantage is that the queue for checkout is relatively long even in the morning. If you have a credit card, please be sure to use the automatic checkout counter.

Located at the entrance of Chinatown (I think), it is on the first basement floor of ChainaTowon Point. It is convenient when you want to buy local souvenirs at the supermarket after eating in Chinatown. There is subway station, too, but taxi stand is usable unexpectedly. I feel like it’s easy to get it right away when I ask for Grab etc.

Conveniently located right by Chinatown MRT station, within Chinatown Point. It’s at the basement B1, and you’d just need to take the escalator down one floor, and you’ll see that they occupy about 5-6 stores worth of floorspace. Item selection is wide, and queues are quite fast moving especially with the self checkout counters. Not the cheapest place to getting your items but functions like most other supermarkets.

I was surprised at the high prices in Singapore, but I didn’t feel like shopping for souvenirs or shopping at Sentosa or Marina Bay Sands, so I looked for a supermarket.
This store isn’t that cheap either, but the locals shop here too, so if you look around, you’ll find some bargains.

Located in B1, with Chinese medical shops, fast food outlets, bread shops and many other shops in B1 and B2. Convenient so that you can attend to many needs on one trip. Groceries are fresh, staff friendly but there is usually a queue even with many cashiers on duty. Don’t know why the two cash self-service counters are always closed when I drop by in the evening. Only two credit card self-service counters are available, hence long queue there also. Many of the customers in the check-out queue are tourist either staying in the nearby hotels or visiting Chinatown.
