Might be in the same class as FairpriceXpress. More like a provision shop but bigger.

This FairPrice have been renovated recently. More bright and more high tech. It has high plastic trolley with wheels for shoppers who previously used 2 or 3 standard hand carry plastic carrier now can dump all their purchases in this new trolley.
At the manual cashier point it has a trolley lift that raise about 1 feet or so to enable shoppers to transfer their purchase without the need to bent too much to transfer their purchase to the cashier conveyor belt to bring the purchase to the cashier. Four self service cashier points added with a cashier helping those not familiar in using the self service cashier point. Bonus to 4D and TOTO punters their purchase shifted to level 1 from level 2. Good job to the planning team cheers.

Has a much bigger land space than the NTUC at HDB hub and is open till later at night. It’s very empty later at night which makes grocery a breeze.

Also has a car park right outside which makes it easy to load groceries.

Wide range of merchandise in store but not well organized in terms of layout. Can be improved.
Agreed with other reviewers, the cashiers there are amongst the most grouchy in Fairprice group. Not helpful or attentive when enquiring about a product or store promotions.

It’s good to have a fair price at the neighborhood cos we usually had to go all the way to toa payoh central to buy groceries from fair price. One thing to take not of is that they do not had much things here due to their small space. There’s quite a number of things you can’t find here. But better than nothing, you can still find the standard groceries here.

This newly renovated NTUC fair price in toa payoh is a bold move towards an inclusive society for the physically challenged and the elderly to do their grocery shopping. The supermarket boasts of spacious aisles with lots of room for wheelchair users and trolleys to meander from sections to sections. Many shelves are deliberately lowered for easy reach and the price tags are larger hence making it easier to be read. While it is only a single level of shopping as compared previously to the double storey they have attempted to bring in only the essentials and may have to increase manpower to replenish the shelves more regularly. Those who buy toto or 4D will be happy to know that a small corner is allocated for that purpose.

Generally, a supermarket isn’t much of an interesting location for a review. However, this store was the National Trades Union Congress first supermarket as part of their NTUC Welcome cooperative. Set up in 1973, it was set up to curb profiteering when inflation was high.

Completed renovation in Nov 2017 after months of mess. From a 2 storey store dilapidated store, it was converted into a modern single storey store. Especially like the new trolley basket that’s easy to push & the automated machine to lift the basket onto the cashier’s counter. There are 4 self checkout counters. There’s a bench to sit down next to the Singapore Pool & also a warm/cold water dispenser.

On the flip side, product & brand selection has shrunk due to limited floor space. Unfortunately the humans remain the same unfriendly / slightly rude ones. The biggest downside to an otherwise great upgrade.

June 2018 update: after the renovation, they don’t have fresh fish, so no more ice bags (for if you need to keep your frozen foods cold in your freezer bag); very convenient, being on only one floor, though the stock of perishables (vegetables, mainly) seems much smaller than before.
Dec 2017: just renovated. Currently only one floor. Great range of items now, including Organic foods and their own range of products.
Jan 2017: Large store with lots of product stock, and a Unity pharmacy on L2. Its a normal Ntuc, not a Finest.

It’s a supermarket located at my neighborhood. It’s quite convenient for me when I run short of some greens, grocery or toiletries..

Although this is only a FairPrice outle it is well stocked enough for the regular family’s daily grocery needs.
If you want more speciality commodities, it’s still better to take the extra effort to visit one of NTUCs hypermarts, at the Wavemall or Ang Mo Kio Hub.

Small outlet with limited selection. You will need to visit the big store at Junction 8 in the vacinity if you need more.

Small and they carry limited selection of items. It’s very cramped up and is stuffy and warm, especially in the afternoon. Most of the staffs are friendly, just a handful which are quite rude.

2 storeys. Sells many things like Fairprice Xtra. Good alternative to Fairprice @MRT which has non-stop super long queues. Post EDiT: unfortunately, the place has just gone through renovations and it’s now only single storey !! …
