The food is fine, but the service processes are very poorly optimized. Each counter staff is supposed to do everything, resulting in them being confused who should do what. Prepared my noodles then realized none of them were preparing drinks, wasting my time waiting again for drinks, which cause me to miss my bus, wasting another 15 minutes of my time.

$4.50 for chicken cutlet curry rice, $5.30 for pork belly curry rice. Chicken curry rice OK, about the same as other Eat outlets. Pork belly was a bit tough and bland. Plate was very sloppily put together considering there weren’t many customers in the queue.

Food not that cheap. Food taste average. If you order don’t bother to add hum. It’s $1 and you don’t even see it because it’s so little and so small. There’s charges for takeaway too if you’re not planning to eat there.

When it comes to Lor Mee, this is my place to go at night. Quick, no fuzz and lots of ingredients. Although in consistent with vinegar and also at some time, the gravy is too thick, overall it is still very thirsty. Won’t go wrong with this.

A good pit stop after cycling. Quite spacious and empty usually. There are two tables outside that is suitable for cyclist to dine and yet park the bikes within sight. Food wise it’s decent but not great. The curry in my pork rice was quite gelatinous (likely due to poor proportion of tapioca flour). There are other EAT branches that are better. Nonetheless still a decent pit stop and it’s 24hours open.

Great place to go when you suffer from those midnight supper hunger pangs. Go for the local street dishes like laska, fishball noodles, satay beehoon, minced meat noodle, pork chop curry rice etc.

Service is fast but don’t expect ultra friendliness from the crew. I’ll live with it ….so long as its not downright rude.

Comfortable and cosy eating place that operates 24 hours. EAT is within walking distance from Hillview MRT, along Rail Mall. Place is clean. Queue at times may be overwhelming for a Sunday morning when there is a sudden influx of people, but should be generally alright at most times. The fish ball soup was good. Fish balls were soft. Soup wasn’t too oily or salty. Reasonably priced.

    Update: Dec 2022
Cockles seemed to have gone missing again. Not sure if it’s temporary, permanent or one off event.

    Update: Feb 2021
Eat has brought back the cockles to their laksa. Added back one star.

    Dec 2020
Great tasting bak chor noodles, fried carrot cake, satay bee hoon, hokkien lor mee and laksa. Their side dishes like Fried Chicken Wings, Fish Balls/Cake, Fried Bean Curd (Tau Kee) and etc… are all very nice.

However, due to recent cost cutting measures, they don’t serve laksa with cockles anymore! What a terrible management mistake at cutting out the single more important ingredient in a bowl of good traditional laksa! Traditions should be built upon, not lost! Deducted 2 stars for the loss of our dear cockles! It warms the cockles of my heart!

I been here many times but mostly mornings, coming here at night the staffs from China (from their accent) are rude and they will scream at you and there is quite a crowd here even at 9pm. Plus there are confusing queue when collecting food, one line is for ordering another while the other is for collection, there is one customer ahead of me keeps walking around the shop not collecting his food and I ended up collecting his order as the bowl of already cooked noodles hasn’t been collected after a few minutes and it looks like my order, ended up the staffs screaming at me for my mistake. Food is average, there seriously need to have a numbering system so as to not confuse customers.

Food and service Standard dropped so much over the years. I see many patrons not finishing their food. 2 customers feedback their ngoh hiang was cold and uncooked while I was waiting. When my food was ready, the lady in-charge asked the cook to slow down my order and give to the person she knew queuing behind me instead. The lady worked the longest in EAT rail mall. Need to work on improving service standards.

Open 24 hours, this is probably the only supper place at The Rail Mall. Food quality is consistent and similar with the other stores within the franchise.

I would have given them 5* if not the lack of manpower. Only 1 woman was at the front taking orders, cooking & manning the cash register. Bottlenecking the entire process.

I also recommend having the beeper system so customers will be notified when our food is ready for collection.

The laksa from Eat is not too bad, rather flavourful and tasty, with the right amount of spiciness and sweetness. The broth is creamy and not too thick, which makes this Laksa one of my go to choices if I’m looking for a quick but delicious meal. Minced meat noodles and fried carrot cake are above average.
