It’s my first time eating @ Dpenyetz. The food was enak bangettttt!! Thank you also for the good customer service & the in house crackers as a service recovery cos food was served late!

Both staffs; the guy at the cashier and the lady were very friendly! They make our evening a whole lot better.

Good food, good mood Will definitely come back again!

This shop located same floor as Koufu and Cathay Cinema. It offered 5 type of chilies with different spiciness.

The coconut rice is fragrance, but it cost $2 with quite a small portion. It would be good if they include it with the ayam penyet as a set meal and reduce the price of it.

Don’t order the chicken breast, it is very dry. Get drumstick, it taste better.

Wanted to try something new and wasn’t really expecting much, but it turned out to be surprisingly good. As my threshold for spicy food isn’t great, I went with the mildest option they have to begin with; it actually tasted really well with the chicken. Definitely want to try the higher level next time. …

The ayam penyet is very nice. I think the taste is more Indonesian than the ones of other ayam penyet. The meat is tender and full of flavors.

The chillies are awesome. There are 5 different levels with different Indonesian chilli flavors. The tahu telor is also nice. Unfortunately, the nasi uduk is finished when we visited the restaurant. The plain rice is more too the soft one.

decent service however the food quality and quantity does not compensate the higher pricing , beef was tough and the chicken was dry , sambal was decent. Definitely would not come again.

First, the place is nice and cozy. The lady at the counter is very helpful in guiding me in choosing the dishes. The fried marinated duck set that I ordered is crispy on the outside and tender inside. The chili or sambal compliments the dish. You can choose 6 different levels of spiciness for the the chili sambal. I chose the ‘normal spicy’, level 3. The dish comes with fried tofu, fried fermented soybeans (tempeh), a slice of cucumber, & tomato. I also ordered the tamarind vegetable soup. The soup is very refreshing and perks up your appetite. Prawn cracker completes this Indonesian food. Will visit again to try their beef dishes. Highly recommended.

Food as nice as usual. Never fail to please the Indonesian food lovers with the varieties of 7 spicy level and the authenticity of the food taste itself. Definitely it’s recommended to eat Indonesian food here at D’Penyetz Jem especially for those who value the quality above everything else! Great food good vibes!

Legit Indonesian smashed chicken in JEM shopping mall. This rather new outlet serves variety of fried/grilled chicken, duck, beef short ribs, gourami, and catfish. Their novelty is in the selection of sambal’s spiciness; 5 levels to choose from with L5 (spiciest) can be quite comfortably eaten by strong chilli eater (maybe too spicy for locals). Chickens turned out to be tender. The Sayur Asam was a tad too sour. Gado-Gado was good, with thick savory peanut sauce reminiscent of the actual stuff in Indonesia.

First time having dpenyetz at the restaurant itself at JEM. I usually order it via the food apps.

I must say the staff were really friendly, service top notch!

I got to know that they serve Ayam geprek so I had to try it cos I looove Ayam geprek.

I must say, the Ayam geprek was a little disappointing to me as the Ayam itself, without the cabe lacks flavour.

You can choose different level of spice according to your spicy threshold.

The sayur Asam wasn’t as good too. But I’ve tried their other dishes so far and it’s all not bad.

The portion is smaller than usual, for big eater do take note.

For spice level, if you are not sure what level to take, in reference with Mcspicy i will said Mcspicy belong to level 4.
So if you cant take the spice level of Mcspicy i will suggest you take level 2 or 3. Do take note that spiciness experience is different, it tingling in your mouth for quite a while. Quite shiok.

I personally prefer the Grilled Chicken (Ayam Bakar) with Spice level 3. The sauce is really good, the down side is the meat is abit dry. But is unavoidable now with the situation of fresh chicken in shortage in Singapore.

The restaurant is located outside of Cathay Cinema at level 5 in Jem. The surrounding food court is currently under renovation, the place is quite quiet and not crowded. I believe you can find a seat anytime here.

Crew and Staff were nice. However, the Ayam geprek I ordered looks nothing like the menu. It came 3 pieces of tenders, with the sambal at the side, the sambal was a small portion. The level 5 sambal was not even that spicy. There was no soup accompanying the dish, so it gets a little dry. If want soup must buy. Drink cups were rather small.

The place is nice and comfortable. Like being in Indonesia. The menu also makes me want to try them all.
But for the taste of the food, I don’t think it’s a recommendation (for me). Ayam Geprek mozzarella is cold, Sambal also is not spicy at all. I try Sambal Hijau also and for me it’s not tasty like Indonesia sambal. Terasa masih mentah gitu dan maung.
For The iga Bakar with soy sauce are too salty and difficult to chew. The rice is lacking water when cooking or because it is not warm, not sure.
I’m Indonesian and really like culinary. Please correct it again for the taste of the food to make it even better
I also ordered grilled Cianjur fish for home, hopefully it’s good.

honestly the best ayam penyet place ive ever been to. from the actual food itself to the customer service i cannot stress how good my experience at D’Penyetz was on the 9th January at 9pm.

firstly, the food was great. it was as if i took a boat back to indonesia to eat the ayam penyet there. it felt so authentic to the original taste in indonesia. the assortment of sauces and flavours in the food was amazing. the portion was not bad either. some of us ordered the level 6 spicy level where one of my friends started crying while eating it. overall, the food lead up to a great experience.

secondly, the customer service. Budi was the friendliest best waiter i have ever encountered. not once did he stop caring for us and checking up on us. constantly he asked if we needed anything and was always there to deliver. we ordered so many times and not once did he ever grumble at our orders. i feel like the customer service made the whole experience so wholesome and comfortable for us to eat in. thanks Budi

due to this, i will definitely be coming back again to patronize the store 😀

Food quality is superb, I ordered Ayam Penyet, Tahu Penyet and fried tofu&beancurd, it is not oily and the chicken taste great too. Must try their tofu, it is quite special as the texture is very soft and quite different from the usual tofu from the usual penyet’s place

Customer service is very good in the Jems outlet. Their fried egg and beancurd is really good.. For the price, I feel the chicken and fish penyet is abit too small.
I requested for level 5 spice level (market as dangerously spicy) and it is totally not spicy for me and I think the normal Ayam penyet competitors around have more spicy chili.
Hope to see more improvement of the spice level if I return again .

Went on 23 Feb 8.15PM. Queued up about 40 mins due to large crowd. Knew of this place due to post from mothership. Ordered 1 ayam penyet, 1 ayam geprek and 1 fish. The dessert and side dishes were unavailable. The food quality and quantity is ok. The sambal could be better as level 5 is not even spicy. The trademark of ayam penyet is the sambal thus hope this could be improved. Serving time is average. Was compensated with a mineral water given by 1 lady. Eventhough we did not have a 5 star experience, the service given were well deserved 5 star. I seen few customers before me waited for takeaway order and they were pestering for their order due to long waiting time. Some even got their order wrong. But the person serving them which a chinese guy with spectacle and the lady dealt with the matter patiently and still put up a good customer service. I will patronize here again for the quality of service, but for food wise, i hope the sambal can be improve and the dessert section as well as side dishes would be made available.

1st try at this outlet and maybe my last but it is all depends. They have other outlets which I have not been to, but their service was good The 2 ladies that served us were multi-tasking & they were genuinely very helpful. Their sambal have varied levels of spiciness which taste so good.

Gado-Gado: Big portion but the boiled vegetables had a stale taste & scent. The sauce was good

Terung (Brinjal) Belado: Favourite, very good ️

Fried & Grilled Bawal (Pomfret) : Good but didn’t expect to be served with Golden Pomfret instead of the usual Black Pomfret.

Fried Lele (Catfish): tasted fresh & good. ️

Tahu Telor: Good & tasty with well balanced flavoured peanut sauce.

Sup Ekor: Too salty, in fact it was too salty even after we tried to watered it down with water and ate with rice, it was still salty. Like a quarter pack of salt fell into the broth. Disappointing because it would be a hit if it was not salty.

The ayam penyet I ordered the thigh part. Too small. Not even my palm size. The nasi lemak quite mushy.

This taste is a real Indonesian taste. Imho, it cant be compared to Singapore style ayam penyet or Malay’s nasi lemak as they are indeed different. The soto is savoury and tasty which I prefer more instead of usual normal sweet soto i ate at other places. SAMBAL GAME STRONG!! If you wanna prove to yourself that you can eat sambal, go here and try!! Staff are friendly and funny especially the man at the cashier Will always come at least once a week. (Ofcourse more often if yall are in Grabfood/Foodpanda )

Bought takeaway dinner for my family at JEM outlet on 19/06/21, around 8pm. Since it was our first time trying, we ordered a variety of items.

First of all, i must say, service standard was awesome! The person taking order (wearing uniform) was very cheerful and patient.

Now for the not so awesome part. The food, in my opinion, is way below average. Thus, the 2 star rating.
    (1) The rice for our ayam penyet and ayam geprek mozzarella was very hard and crunchy. Yes, you read that right. Crunchy. It was uncooked and had the crunchy bits.
    (2) Next, is the bee hoon bakso. Same thing, bee hoon was stiff. Not blanched enough. Bakso soup was pretty much tasteless.
    (3) Gado² was also not spared from the bad taste. The veggies already smelt bad (spoilt). The keropok included, even though packed in a sealed bag, was already soft.
    (4) Tahu telor was the only thing that was palatable.

Hope the owners can take this honest and unbiased review with a pinch of salt. No hard feelings.

Best penyet ever eaten. Authentic and original taste. Not to mention chicken is succulent, juicy and huge.

Best takeaway for me is the chilli (has different levels of spicyness). For a person that could take spicy food, i got to admit the chilli they serve packs a punch and super fragrant! Highly recommend ️

Had iga bakar (grilled beef rib ) and sayur asem. The grilled beef rib tasted very good while the sayur asem tasted okay. Definitely will come back to try other items in the menu.
