Din tai fung used to be soooo good… esp the fried rice n the Xiao long bao. But this branch is utterly disappointing. My family n I r celebrating for my nephew birthday thus it’s a big grp of 9 pax, 5adults n 4 kids.

    1) The fried rice is not dry… kind of sticky actually without the egg being “coated” on each rice. Definitely not the standard of din tai fung.

    2) the Xiao long bao doesn’t have wow factor as it used to be. I remember last time when I had it, I was like…. “wow …. so nice”. Even when I had it in Taipei, it’s also the same feeling. But this branch Xiao long bao is jus like normal Xiao long bao which u can find else where. N what is that yellow colour thing in the center??? I’m not too sure…

    3) beef noodle soup… some lacking of taste to it. In fact…. bland. need to add in chilli n asked for some chopped galics.

    4) cold dish… not bad for the cucumber, cold pork meat etc.

Service is good but they had forgotten to serve one of our dishes.

Rated it two star cos definitely for the price which my family had paid doesn’t worth it. {200+++} ( this is by far … my first one star rating) maybe my expectation of din tai fung is really quite high (from other branches).

Had dinner with two friends around 7:00 PM. Place was comfortable and not noisy. Food was ok/good- slightly bland for my tastes. But had vinegar and chillies for necessary spice. Food came out fast with no much waiting time. Food would be 3 ️ but comfortable environment and fast food went with 4 stars.

The food quality is as good as the other outlets but the service is a bit strange. Our appetizer order was served as the last meal after we finished all of our other meals (and that was after we asked twice for the sliced duck order).
The good side of this outlet, it is less crowded than the Tampines’ outlet so you will have a shorter queueing time in the peak hours.
The sliced duck is tasty, the smoked duck taste like a duck bacon.
The xiao long bao has the taste consistency as per other outlet. Din tai fung is still the best place to eat xiao long baos.
The noodles are as per their standard. Fresh and handmade. The fried rice is as their normal fried rice, one of my child’s favourite.
I always like their ice lemon tea, the ice cube is made from the lemon tea.

A spacious but rather warm Din Tai Fung. Service was okay, though they were very busy at peak periods. Food was great, usual standard as other DTFs. Ordered the pork chop fried rice, which was fragrant and tasty! The pork + shrimp wantons were crispy and hot when served. The siew mais are not like the usual ones, rather they are wrapped with xiaolongbao skin and contain “juice” just like the xiaolongbao. Interesting and also tasty.

Fried rice are abit bland and oily for me but the pork chop are tender and nice. Highly recommended for the garlic pork and earl grey lemon tea, I was so in love with these after first try. 3 stars because is abit costly for 小笼汤包, quite normal with less ‘汤’ when compared with JB 潮苑 timsum restaurant. The ‘汤’ even can fill up a spoon.

Always popular during weekends but queue number moves quickly. Service is efficient. You should order some small dishes to start while waiting for the mains. We like garlic pork, 小菜,酸菜. For mains, recommend pork chop, fried rice, 小笼包, beef noodles and 炸酱面. For dessert, chocolate and red bean steamed dumplings are great.

Din Tai Fung used to be really good but it feels like they’re sitting on their laurels. Portions have shrunk, prices have increased. While the food is decent it just doesn’t feel like you’re getting good value from it. The xiao long pau is still a standout dish but the noodle and rice dishes are average for the price. For example, the egg and shrimp friend rice came with small, dried out prawns and the rice was too damp.

If our looking for good and yummy Chinese food, this is the place for you. With various types of Chinese foods from cucumber wrapped with pork( I’m serious it’s the best starter to have I’ll get back to that later. ) to pork filled dumplings.
Now back to those yummy cucumber wrapped in pork, the tender and thin slice of pork resembles a raw looking piece of bacon but I promise you it’s definitely cooked. This pork envelopes the refreshing cucumber in it tenderness. Now I know you are thinking pork and cucumber, no way. But it’s true the cucumber gives it a refreshing crunch honestly if there was no cucumber it would be too “jelat” as us singaporeans would say.
Just a tip if your going to go there, go earlier to avoid the crowds.

Food quality and service are consistent at Bedok branch. Only drawback is the air conditioning as one tends to feel warmer halfway through the meal. DTF is famed for its Xiao Long Bao (pork dumplings with soup). Some of the must order dishes (beside XLB) are the appetizer (seaweed and beancurd shreds mixed with vermicelli and bean sprouts in slightly vinegared dressing), prawn cake, chicken soup, fried rice and yam paste dumplings. DTF Singapore served chilli crab XLB during Jul/Aug month (Singapore National Day promotion item), and it is a must try dish for people who loves XLB and Singapore iconic dish Chilli crab.

Great place, excellent dim sums. Nice to see the cooks preparing them, but come out too late, as they prepare a bit in advance. Must oder then on a menu list, and they bring them when ready – was missing the experience of the ladies strolling with the wagons where you can choose what you’d prefer (Cantonese style) but that seems to be rate in Singapore. Also the selection is very conservative.
