DTF is always packed with snaking long queues, best to go an hour before usual mealtimes (11am / 6pm), else it’s going to be a wait. Had jjm, steamed xiaolongbao, and a few assorted appetisers… all good except the shrimp wanton with chicken soup, not worth it. Overall, an economical and high cp value restaurant.

It’s a popular place so expect to wait a little while. Food as always is heavenly as expected from the DTG brand. I am personally a fan of the Shrimp & Pork Dumplings and the Xiao Long Bao.

Best xiao long bao anywhere in the world (yes, even better than those from the motherland Shanghai). And the fried rice and pork chop and dan dan mian, all are must order choices. But have to say that service is slower this covid period.

The quality here is very good. Service is also very good. Always crowded. But being a vegetarian, the options are quite limited. Eg; only 1 variety of veg dumplings. Need to add more veg options in the menu.

Always love DTF!!! the pork and chili wantons are actually better than the XLBs. The shrimp pancake and pork chop are also insane.

Comfort food for the weekend and it gets super crowded so come early or before they open to get your queue number.

went there for lunch , bad customer service only a few senior staff more friendly towards people of younger age groups. tried to get seats at the front counter asked two younger staff (one a “junior captain”) five times but got ignored, cane back later and got my order by an older much more friendly staff

This is the closest mall to our residence in Singapore, and seems of have most of what we need. Except have only found one dry cleaning (monopoly) — other than that pretty good first stop on the walk to Katong.

One of the top rated restaurants having presence in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, United States, Thailand, UK and UAE. Famous for its steamed buns, all preparations are exquisite and uniform over their retail outlets. Also, found the products to be fairly priced and of good taste.

Clean and spacious, with good service. The food is also really good, especially in comparison with the branch at Bedok Mall. Like any other Din Tai Fung, do be prepared to wait for at least 15 mins, up to 45 mins, for a table. Other than the xiao long bao that they are famous for, I really like their egg fried rice and chilli vinegar wanton.

I have been to this outlets at least 3 times during these past 6 months and every time I am facing bad management on queuing, i.e. I need to spend at least 15mins waiting for a staff to attend to me giving a queue. There are several tables empty. Food are always good, but service is needed prompt improvement.

This chain of Taiwanese restaurant is a great place. Their dim sum is fresh and absolutely flavourful. Good and quick service. Very wide variety in their menu. I like their spread of side dishes and desserts too. We go to this restaurant often. There are a couple of vegetarian options to choose from. Highly recommend. Have to queue up during peak hours due to high demand though.

The restaurant serves delightful Chinese food. Good food is relatively easy to find in Singapore. Good service however is another thing altogether in this efficiency driven country.

Din Tai Fung however manages to pull it off in the service department quite well.

The place is well run and well staffed, you can grab a staff to attend to you quite easily as they pass you by frequently. Most of my visits are pleasant with the occasional misses but believe me, its one of the places that offers better service in Singapore.

I always go to Din Tai Fung when I’m in Singapore. The quality and standards of the food is exactly the same regardless of outlets. It is one of my favourite place in Singapore and it is fairly cheap. Me and my friend stuffed our selves until we couldn’t eat anymore and I paid less than $90 sing dollars for both of us. Great value!

The only thing that you can’t do here is taking a nap and watch a movie (but you can buy DVDs and DVD players here, or subscribe to cable channels)…

You can exercise at the gym, take a shower, get new change of clothes from the numerous shops, fill your stomach up with different cuisines, pamper your nails, hair, face and take home with you a host of other beauty products on offer. You will not lose your mobile connections here as all 4 telcos are represented here.

While you are at it, you can even do your usual banking stuff (DBS, UOB, Citibank and OCBC down the road), remit money, exchange foreign currencies and managing your wealth via DBS Treasures and Citigold.

Been visiting Din Tai Fung since 5 years, across multiple locations – Parkway Parade, City Square Mall, Suntec and Raffles City. And the experience has always been gratifying and consistent.

Quite light on the tummy, and pocket friendly too. I generally visit with a +1 and my standard fare (all vegetarian) includes Jasmine Tea, Egg Rice, Spicy noodles and dumplings. Altogether comes to $36 for 2.

This is a dependable place. Cheers.

P.S: the spicy noodles have a shrimp sauce base, so not totally vegetarian.

There was a “Q” to book a table. A display boatd informed us that wait time would be approx 30 Mts. When your turn comes you are given a clip board along with full menu card and a pen and alotted a token number. You can finalise your order by ticking the items you want to order by ticking on the menu. This saves time in ordering once you have been alotted a table.
Apparently on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays between 1130 and 1400 there is generally wait time of about 30 mts to an hour.
Place spelcialises in dtesmes fried and other types of dumplings.
We had steamed chicken and pork dumpling and a statrer. They were really good . Worth avisit.

One of the nicer and more comprehensive malls in the East / Marine Parade area. Most essential brands are available; also available are both Watsons, Guardian Pharmacies, a full scope Giant, and a Cold Storage. Lots of really great bakeries, cafes, eateries available. Recent addition is a small outdoor play area for kids.
Easy access by Bus or Cab.

There are a few outlets which did not meet the usual customer service standards; namely Parkway Parade and Centrepoint. The food quality is ok but these 2 outlets’ staff seem to have a lapse in their service standard- namely impatient and indifferent staff. As compared to other outlets, the difference in service standard seems jarring!
Operations Manager should be doing their rounds to ensure consistency in service standards.

Din Tai Fung although always long queues has one of the best dishes, ambience, cleanliness and latest their queue and pre-order system really takes the frustration and hassle of waiting. We were not stuck in a queue and yet saved time to be able to browse the menu online and pre-set our orders beforehand. Once we received an automated call to confirm our table, we just walk back to them in 10min and show them the QR codes for each orders we have set. So convenient.

My family is from Shanghai and we were disgusted by the quality of xiao long bao and shen jian bao, it’s way too dry and tiny, and apparently they claim it to be “Taiwanese soup dumplings”. They are actually supposed to be eaten by nibbling a tiny hole by the side and sipping the soup slowly which makes it much more enjoyable. Some foods were quite nice(I don’t remember which) but don’t get the hype.

Had dinner at the parkway outlet on a Saturday evening and generally, I’d say everything that made Din Tai Fung famous is still intact and good. Had beef brisket noodles and XLB and they did not disappoint. Consistent and still great tasting. Great texture on the noodles, with really tender beef brisket. Perhaps the soup stock could have been a bit more flavourful, but I still really enjoyed my meal. That being said, this was not a 5 star experience, as service was rather inattentive at times, and perhaps overly orientated towards efficiency. Upon our queue number being called, my wife and I proceeded to the entrance, and handed over our order slips, before being led to our table. However, the waitress seemed more obsessed with confirming our orders from the slip rather than seating us. We ended up confirming the orders while standing in the middle of the crowded restaurant. Best part is, after the waitress was done confirming the order, she rushed off, without actually showing us to a specific table. My wife and I saw 2 empty tables in front of us and just sat ourselves down on one of them. No harm done, but at best a 4 out of 5 kinda experience.

I love the food served here. It is priced affordably and food comes pretty quick. My only quip is that it can be pretty packed during peak hours. Go there for the food and not for conversations because you can hardly hear your partner sitting right in front of you.

DTF is a busy restaurant (in whichever country you find it) and has that “cantonese” hustle feeling about it. It is of course famous for its xioalongbao and for holding onto the remains of the dim sum tradition from old Hong Kong.
GO there for good chinese food but do expect it to be busy and noisy and not the kind of restaurant you linger in.

A huge local favourite – in fact if I was non vegetarian I would probably rate this 5 stars. Being a vegetarian, they still have a few options which are tasty (I eat egg), however if you are a pure vegetarian / vegan who doesn’t eat egg, it might be challenging to suit your needs. Service is prompt, and the food tastes the same whichever outlet you visit. Quite a feat to achieve that level of consistency!

Relatively easy to navigate, with chock full of good eateries.

The annoying thing is the lack of a train station nearby, at least until 2020. The overhead bridge can also be a pain to traverse, especially for the movement impaired.

Iconic shopping mall for those who stay in the East; before Leisure Park Kallang and I12 Katong emerged, this was the only decent mall available. There’s something for everyone here! Extremely convenient with 3 supermarkets (Fairprice, Cold Storage and Giant) and everyone’s favourite $2 shop Daiso. Wide variety of food options and all the shopping you could want without having to go to Orchard.

The must have items for me everytime are the xiao long bao (pork dumplings) and the green chillies stuffed with pork meat (not spicy at all). Few other favourites ordered were noodles in spicy sauce, vegetarian dumplings, Fried rice, spinach with garlic and custard buns. Get a tea to sip along side this heavenly food!

There is something alluringly meditative about eating a xiao long bao (“xlb”). You start off by gripping the twisted top with your wrongly-held chopsticks. You proceed to peel off that little bundle of joy from the warmly wet cloth below. With no tears in the xlb skin that by now has become the fabric of your reality, you hoist, triumphant, that good parcel onto your spoon and gently deck it with vinegar and slices of raw ginger. But the xlb is not ready yet. Like a shy little girl kissing the cheek of her grandmother, you nibble a hole at its side and sip its broth. Eat it all at once, and she will scald you. Treat her delicately, and flavour floods your tongue. Only then comes consummation, the returning to the fold, when you finally set the remaining morsel into your mouth, blink, and find yourself back in company that you had been absent-mindedly ignoring for the past minute.

Dining at Din Tai Fung is something like that. The steps to join the ranks of customers at your own personal island of culinary pleasure begin with the taking of the queue number. Then the choosing of the items to be eaten. Followed by a moderate wait, after which you are seated, read out your order and poured some tea. The process is calm, orderly, controlled. The service is attentive but never intrusive. The food comes quickly, and is devoured within the tides of conversation. There is a pulsing rhythm to all of this, an undercurrent of pleasurable efficiency that I never fail to appreciate. And of course, the food, which is turned out with such consistency that this chain of restaurants has become my go-to place whenever I crave comfort food.

You may note that I have focused on the Din Tai Fung outlet at Marine Parade. Doubtless, there are other outlets of a similar standard. At the same time, dark horses of the family do exist (Manulife Centre, I am looking at you – cramped quarters, poor ventilation, bland dishes that one sorrowful time). Nonetheless, one day, I hope to visit all outlets, a citizen of Singapore on a quest to become a citizen of Din Tai Fung.

TLDR: Efficient service, good atmosphere, good food.
