Environment: After rush hour. So to be seated immediately without using QR scan. Not very packed. Supposed can see chefs making dumplings through the window like other branches. No one there as non rash hour. — 7/10
Service: Place order by using QR at table, then flag the waiter to scan our code and double check our order. Soup came first and fast. Dumplings need 20mins. Sweet soup need 30minutes. Served food very slow. Pay the bill at the exit. Basically staff are in good manner. — 6.7/10
Food: Pricey for waiting. 10% service charge and 7% GST. Normal presentation.
    – Hot & Sour Soup, $9: good portion. A lot of filling. Not spicy or sour. Stronger pepper flavor. — 7.5/10
    – Steamed Pork Dumplings 小籠包, $9/6pcs: popular dishes here.must order. Waited for 20minutes. Pastry was good. Filling was juicy with hot soup. Well with cold shreded ginger and black vinegar. — 7.5/10
    – Layer Cakes, $4.8/2pcs: Plain. Not matched with our interpretation of layer cakes. They did have multiple layers. Not much fillings. Like a sweet plain bread. — 5.5/10
    – Papaya & Snow Fungus Sweet Soup, $7.8: small portion. I believe it’s not a popular dish here. The staff felt stressed for making this dish and asked us for serveral times. We had waited at last 30minut after order placed. Snow fugus was bit hard. There were 2 jubilees and a few Chinese almonds, and 6 very small papaya balls. Soup wasn’t over sweet. — 6/10

Nice smaller outlet of the famous DTF (am I the only one finding this acronym funny?) chain of dumpling steamers. Their selection of dim sum is really good and you pretty much know what you’re getting. Nice to eat there before the flight.

As a foreigner/expat I have little discernment regarding what a good authentic Chinese/Taiwanese cuisine SHOULD taste like. Regardless, I felt it was a good selection among the sea of great restaurants to choose from when you are deciding to eat at a restaurant reflecting regional cuisine enjoyed by most Singaporeans.

At Jewel Changi, the wait time was much shorter than what was estimated for us (20 minutes instead of 50 minutes), so don’t let that dissuade you. Service was courteous, expedient, and really prompt. The only inconvenience was looking at many items on the menu which had “not available” on it. I notice that occurs frequently in most popular restaurants throughout Singapore – I’m guessing it’s to avoid food waste!

Now for the food…. The steamed pork dumpling was ‘soupy’ and fun to eat. The current special was ‘chili crab and pork’ flavour dumpling was surprisingly unique and tasty, especially from a person who normally dislikes seafood. The deep fried vegetable and pork wonton was excellent with the dipping sauces. I also indulged in the fried rice with pork chop (as recommended by EVERYONE). Now I have to figure out how to hack the recipe and duplicate it at home – it was very good.

This was a 5 star experience for me. It is definitely a special occasion experience. A Din Tai Fung is always best to dine when you aren’t alone

Not the first time eating at this dtf, but today’s experience was absolutely terrible. The xlb had very little soup, but the worst was the fried rice. Ordered pork chop egg fried rice, came bland. Had a few friends taste it and they agree that it was more bland than usual.
Have at least eaten here a few times before and it’s not the standard, so I decided to send it back to the kitchen (which is something I very rarely do). Staff came back, and instead of apologising, told me that it was how it was supposed to taste after they did a taste test. Did get a new plate of fried rice but for the first time I’ve never finished my dtf fried rice.

Service wise, seems to be understaffed. Also the first time that the xlb only came out more than halfway when we were done with our fried rice/noodles

It should have been given 5 stars, but compared with the main store on Xinyi Road in Taipei, the service is still not friendly and slow. The quality of the food is of a high standard. The small dragon buns are thin and rich in soup, the chicken soup is fresh, and the beef in the beef noodles is tender and tasty. The side dishes are delicious, including bean shreds, kelp shreds, cucumber shreds, fungus shreds and so on. When you bite into the custard bun, thick egg yolk flows out. This is the first time I have eaten it at Din Tai Fung. It is very delicious.

Give 4 stars, beautiful dumpling wrappers
    ———————————————-
The Xiao Long Bao dishes are different meats, but they are indistinguishable.
how are they different It tastes the same.
    ———————————————-
But the lava buns are delicious.
    Just a choc
    ———————————————-
Fried rice, I like it ** It’s not very tasty.
But it’s delicious, runny eggs, eat with fried pork, it’s good.
    ———————————————

P.S. When I used to eat at a restaurant that tasted better.
The restaurant that can eat will taste indifferent right away
Now for Din Tai Fung: Just for us.
    in terms of taste

But about the beautiful wrapping, thin powder
The bun is neat and beautiful. I still give it to you.

The food here is of course, pretty good. However, the serving sizes are somewhat small (picture included). One more thing though, I have to applaud the restaurants hygiene measures during this pandemic. The tables are thoroughly disinfected, and they even prepared plastic bags for us to store our masks. …

I visited Din Tai Fung Jewel @ Changi Airport on 16 June 2019.

Jewel @ Changi Airport is the latest attraction and I am also attracted to the sights at Jewel.

Location: DTF is located on level 3 of Jewel. Not so easy to go since I got lost from level 2 and went straight to level 4 and had to ask the concierge for directions.

Atmosphere: rated zero or maybe negative for atmosphere. This place is crowded noisy and way too noisy for people to talk as there were too many people and children screams and cries.

Service: service was pretty fast, I got a queue number but was pretty fast they called us into the restaurant. But mind that I arrived at 130pm so maybe most of the lunch crowds already had lunch so the wait wasn’t so long.

Food: I ordered the pork chop noodles, pork chop fried rice, xiao long bao, dumplings in spicy sauce, shrimp and pork siew mai. Actually all the food were good, but I think what could have been better was of course if they serve the steam items one by one instead of all at one shot because it would turn cold fast and then it wouldn’t be so tasty when it cooled down.

Overall, I give it a 3-star. It is definitely a place I would return for the food but not for the service or atmosphere.

Not so crowded on a Friday afternoon lunch time, and got seats pretty quick. Due to manpower issues, they managed your expectations by informing which dishes you may have to wait longer, i.e. the steamed dumplings around 20-30 minutes. Like most reviewers here and many places, taste, presentation etc. were all pretty consistent and standard throughout all branches.

However, what really impressed me here was a staff by the name of Shine (or Shinee), a gentlemen whom was really professional and friendly when serving drinks. It is very rare to see someone in the F&B line providing service in Singapore to be so sincere and polite and really treats his customers like his guests at his home, and the business his own. Hope he gets many nice customers treating him equally nicely, and the company treating him good as well. I wish him the very best!

Even though the queue system was comnendable, the food was mediocre at best. Everything was kinda oily. The Naibai was salty. Only one worth mentioning was the orginal pork dumpling and crab meat pork dumpling and Prawn Pancake.

Service was good. They were consistently topping up the tea pot with hot water, the speed where the food came is quite fast.

Previously I went to eat and they a promotion with OCBC. “min spend $58, $8 off”.

However this current time I used my voucher. And I saw they have a promotion again, “min spend of $88, $8 off”.

[ So the total damage was $157.13. I wasn’t given the voucher (which I find it weird).

The total I spent amounted near to $160! I don’t know how they did their calculation as well.

Based on this, I give a 2-star review, solely because of the service & PART of their menu ]

Overall, I wouldn’t come again. Especially to this outlet. I expect the service and explanation at Din Tai Fung, Especially at Jewel to be much better.

The menus of Din Tai Fung in various countries are slightly different. In Singapore, Din Tai Fung’s red oil Chaoshou looks like red oil wontons, without fried dumplings, and there are no chocolate-only steamed buns; but there are also some different meals for snacks and side dishes, such as Fried stuffed green peppers and fried wontons are for you to choose from.

On the whole, Din Tai Fung’s signature dishes such as steamed buns, hot and sour soup, fried rice, etc. are equally delicious, but the kitchen is not stable enough, like the dried shrimp wonton that I ordered this time, the skin is too soft and the entrance is less The taste of Pi Q in the past.

I think the worst thing is the service. No one will take the initiative to clean up the dishes when the meals are used up. As a result, there is no place to put the hot dishes. There are many obstacles and embarrassing meals. (Shout out to Din Tai Fung Quality Control!)

The quality of food has dropped. The xiaolong bao, which is a signature dish of Din Tai Fung, had shrunk in size and had no soup inside. The amount of meat was tiny in proportion to the amount of skin. The stewed beancurd cubes with honey sauce was bland, there was no richness and intensity of flavour you would find in the dish normally.
Definitely a big drop in quality from my visits to other branches.

Stopped by for dim sum before our flight. The menu labeled which dishes were vegetarian, which was awesome. We were bummed at how many vegetable dishes weren’t actually vegetarian, though, and that the chili sauce had shrimp in it. We asked if any non-vegetarian dishes could be made vegetarian with a different sauce – no luck.

We got various buns, dumplings, and vegetables. The highlight was the custard bun – it was sooo good! Would def stop by just for custard buns before every flight if I could!!

    I was the last guest

Are you alone? When I asked, ‘Oh, you’re still single’, I showed you two seats and took my order. A large seat immediately came out and guided me there.

The staff were friendly and the dumplings and jasmine tea were so good.

It’s a pity that I came late and couldn’t enjoy the various menus.

Be careful if you don’t eat pork. Some dishes have pork even though the menu doesn’t state, such as the hot & spicy soup (has pork meat inside). Only found out when the food came and asked the server to confirm. After that can’t change to another dish or refund (did not eat it yet) as the server said must ask them before ordering, once order confirm they cannot do anything. Bad service.

Din Tai Fung is like Macdonalds of Chinese food.

Came during Public Holiday on Chinese New Year, no queue or waiting time.

Service was okay, food was okay the noodles served wasn’t very hot, soup dumplings was also not bad but not great..
Food value is pretty steep as well.

I usually don’t leave reviews for chain restaurants, but this branch in Jewel deserves special mention. Apart from the restaurant’s firm commitment to safe management measures (leaving tables empty, ziplock bags for masks, hand sanitizers), the service was incredibly meticulous.

Just some examples off the top of my head. When we ordered the lemon barley drink and asked for no ice, the server took time to explain that the drink was originally chilled and would seem a little cold but they were mindful not to add any ice and tried to warm it up a little. When they served the 小笼包, another server saw what we were still eating another dish and suggested to keep the cover on. And when I was at the cashier, the receptionist reminded me to use my Changi Rewards card if I have it – not all the sales staff in retail stores in the airport bother to be honest. If you look at each of these incidents on their own, they will seem pretty trivial; some of us may even come to demand these as the norm. But we left with a great feeling after a good meal, and it’s not often you can say that when we as a nation have become so accustomed to restaurant fare. Just look at the reviews before mine and you will see what sort of expectations we have come to have.

And of course, this branch serves up as good quality food as any other 鼎泰丰 branch in the world (except in Taipei – which tastes exceptionally good).

Needless to say, the food quality of Din Tai Fung has always been very stable.
What I want to talk about is the service of Jewel.

Seat around 4:00 p.m. Knowing that there are so many people on Christmas day, there is obviously not enough manpower. Although the screen has already called the number, you still have to stand outside to order food before you can enter. It is very inconvenient to stand outside and look at the menu, and the service staff are busy after ordering Come and go, just like this, the computer calls the number but stands outside for 10 minutes, if you are not ready, don’t press the number
After being seated, there was still food left on the chairs (since the guests were made to wait for a long time, the chairs were still dirty, what happened?) Of course, the service staff cleaned it up quickly, but it shouldn’t have happened.
Hearing the ringing of the bell, the male waiter next to him, still wearing a suit, actually said directly, “Press and press the fart”. It is understandable to be emotional at work, but why should the volume be so loud that the people dining next to him can hear it. Another waitress passed by and could hear her keep saying, “I’m so busy, I’m so busy, I’m so busy today.” Feel free to let it out but in the kitchen or anywhere out of earshot of your guests.
After all, I’m here to eat, not to listen to how tired you are at work. Which job is not tiring? Is it possible that everyone hopes to go back to the closed city period to be happy when there is nothing to do overall?

It’s din tai fung, what’s not to like? Place can get pretty crowded during peak hours so consider yourself warned. Probably best to join the queue then go walk around jewel till you get a call to head back.

During July and Aug they have the chili crab bao and xiao long bao to celebrate national day. I think the bao is better than the xlb version

Employees were friendly. It may be lacking by Korean standards, but it is kind by Singaporean standards. For first-time Koreans, don’t panic…
The broth has a very mild flavor of spice. If you are too sensitive, just eat dumplings.
I liked both the dumplings and the noodles.
However, the deadline is 30 minutes before closing time… It seemed to do it fairly quickly.
The wait is long, so you need to wait at least 1 hour before closing time.
I will try to visit again next time I come in the evening.
