Dian Xiao Er herbal duck never disappoints; tender, juicy and flavorful. But the restaurant layout is a little cramp, they should reduce the number of tables. The waiter kept brushing pass while I am eating, quite disturbing.

Must order list (read if you uninitiated to dxe):
Cantonese style cuisine with rather high standards.
    1. Roasted duck never disappoints.
    2. Char siew (limited amount and only order if they offer the cuts that are around 30 to 50% fats. Only then will it taste sufficiently sweet and tender.
    3. Fish maw with seafood soup (small gives enough to feed about 3 to 4 folks)

This place has been a family favourite for years, though some outlets are better than others. The duck is consistently flavourful and tender. Other dishes that we ordered such as cereal prawn was a little below our expectations. Service was excellent and I appreciated that the waiters consistently topped up our warm teas.

Excellent outlet for quality of food and service. Staff is very prompt and attentive to customers’ needs. For example, provided burn cream quickly when finger was scaled by the hot plate. Overall a great outlet for Dian Xiao Er food. The duck is yummy as always, the fish maw soup is excellent and the tofu and Kang Kong are all well prepared!

Went to Dian Xiao Er Marina Square before 12 noon and was given early bird discount, a 15% discount. Condition was to finish the meal within an hour. As usual, the signature roasted duck, cooked with their ten wonder herbs, was awesome – crispy crunchy skin and juicy flavourful meat. The deep-fried kai lan with floss was unique and interesting. It’s crispy and tasty with a little bitter aftertaste. The fresh floss provided a little sweetness that complemented the dish very well. The soy pudding was fresh and silky smooth. Not too sweet. The collagen jelly with black sugar was refreshing and cooling. Service staff were attentive and efficient. Comfortable seating and cozy ambience.

was there for dinner 28/11 around 5.30pm, can see there was a lack of staff, but also lack of attention from them, stood at the entrance for a good 5 min and none of the staff seemed interested to attend to us. few of them walked past, and saw the group of us, but none came forward or asked the PIC responsible for leading customers to tables to attend to us. it is only until i said loudly “if they are not keen to take us to a table, let’s just go putien” and started moving away, that someone came to take us to a table.
seems they were taking plenty of takeaway/delivery orders, and restaurant was 80% filled, so business must be quite good, that they cannot be bothered with walk in customers.
food wise, not bad, was served very quickly. that’s about it.

For 5 dishes $79 is ok but what I am not ok with. Food was not hot enough, came in less than 5 mins that we order. We didn’t rush them, since u are a restaurant take some time to heat up the food more even if it’s no secret u heat up your food rather than cook from scratch. Taste was ok like caifan, soup was the only hotter thing that came. Sorry to say food come too fast cheapen the brand also. Make the food seem more heated up then cooked when ordered.

Service was okay and food were normal and lukewarm. Not sure if is just this outlet or because of the time we checked in, I did not have issues w other DXE outlets.

Major turn off – having staffs “reminding” our table of two persons a few times, glancing over now and then to emphasize that they are closing at 9pm.

The catch? We were seated at around 8:15pm and not a single staff or the manager have the decency to inform beforehand that their last order is 8:30pm and closing is 9pm. We were only informed after we placed our orders.

Managed to finish our food (but not drinks) within their “timeframe” and you literally can feel the vibes by their body language like “Yeah! Finally they are getting the hell out so that we can clean up and go home!”

Perhaps that explained why their food is lukewarm. Only if they could have inform us that their closing time was near before we were seated & at least we can make a better decision of ordering to-go or patronizing somewhere else.

All-out feast today at Dian Xiao Er, and had the chance to order all three signature ducks for duck-off: ten wonder herbs, angelica herb, and wild ginseng. Angelica Herb wins.

    Also tried other dishes:
    1. Fish maw thick soup with seafood
    2. Crispy fish skin with fried kang kong salad
    3. Claypot pork belly with salted fish
    4. Baby kai lan with saled fish and lime
    5. Signature wheatgrass tofu with seafood
    6. Steamed cod fish with soy sauce

It was unfortunate that we were made to wait 20mins for it and I stead we were served other dishes. Great Value for money! We had a new year gathering for the hiking buddies at Dian Xiao Er, and we chose the Signature Set. Included in the set menu, is the signature Roast Duck with Angelica Herb, and own speciality Wheatgrass Tofu with mushrooms, Crispy Otah Charcoal Dough Fritters, Fish Maw Thick Soup, Assorted mushrooms with broccoli, Stewed Pork Ribs with Shitake Mushrooms, Hotplate Deep-fried fish with homemade sauce. Most people who had dined there will agree that the Roast Duck is indeed very flavourful, with tender meat. I like the Wheatgrass tofu which is very unique. The yam included with the stewed pork ribs is very tasty, so as the stewed pork ribs. We are all very satisfied with all the dishes being served. Due to the Chinese New Year period, we did not forget to toss the YuSheng for good prosperity in the coming year of ox.

They are supposed to be famous for their ducks but we find their other dishes better. They added too much sauce on the roast ducks which makes the meat soggy. Other dishes were all well cooked. Delicious & tasty. Even the white steam rice was so soft & fragrant.

    Very delicious.
Services still have room for improvements.

Nice collection of solid tasting unique dishes not typically gathered in a traditional Chinese restaurant. Themed interior and cosplay by the waiters is kind of fun.

This branch is a little on the salty side, it works for me but if you prefer milder tastes, you may want to try their other branches.

Tried all three ducks and l like the angelica herb one. Trying to decide between this and London fat duck – I think sauce flavour this one wins but duck flavour the other wins. This one somewhat didn’t get the herb flavour into the duck meat itself. So it’s just the sauce that differentiates it

The place is well spread. The seats are just right. The duck is superb, we had the dang gui duck.. tasty.. oh my !!! I am drooling again while writing this. I cannot remember the name of this appetizer.. it is fried lotus root with salted egg sauce. That is a must try

Ordered the promotional set (for 4) for dinner, and added one dish, just in case
Excellent food. Good value and so sufficient for four.
    Duck was tender and tasty.
Called them for some info, and phone service was good.

    Nice Chinese restaurant for groups.
We ordered both kinds of roasted ducks and voted for the crispy skinned one (it’s sooo goood!) the rest were also nice and the service was quick though they spoke Chinese mostly.

Yummy herbal duck! And all other dishes I ordered were nice too. Prices were reasonable. Service and environment were a little below satisfactory, maybe because it was Saturday evening when I dined at the restaurant. There was a long stand of hair on the seat and the table was still damp from cleaning …

Visited again after half a year and the duck still amazes me. Service was friendly although they missed out the vege as the restaurant was very busy. So it’s understandable.

Amazing as usual. One of the best duck at this price range.

    Ordered takeaway during HA2.
Collect before 5.30pm entitles you to 30% discount, worth it.

Duck Roasted with Angelica Herb was good. Tender meat and crispy skin. The sauce was packed separately.
Prawn Balls with Salted Egg Sauce. The small portion came with 8 pieces.
Sliced Garoupa in Assam – my parents loved it. The sauce was tangy and slightly spicy. Came with sliced tomatoes, pineapples, ladies finger and eggplant.

Homemade Tofu with Luffa & Crabmeat tastes bland
Mongolian Pork Ribs (Boneless) – the meat was tough

How many times do you have to order? Duck Roasted with Sauce Duck Roasted with Ten Wonder Herbs $17.60 (Small) Crispy duck skin, soft meat, juicy Ten Wonder herb sauce, topped with steamed rice, it’s very good. Bisau Prawn Balls with Wasabi Mayo Sauce $18.90 (Small) Today I know that wasabi comes with a strange smell, but overall it’s still delicious. Wasabi lightly rose up his nose. The next dish was stir-fried vegetables, Chinese chives, tangy rice, lily, stir-fried garlic, Garlic Chives with Cordyceps Flower & Fresh Lily Bulb $13.30 (Small). A glimpse of Achar Nyonya Style $2.20 so I ordered it to try. Will order again, delicious food, clean restaurant, good service, lovely staff, fast food, most pleasing

This place has been a family favourite for years, though some outlets are better than others. The duck is consistently flavourful and tender. Other dishes that we ordered such as cereal prawn was a little below our expectations. Service was excellent and I appreciated that the waiters consistently topped up our warm teas.

We bought the membership ($88) which comes with 2 sets of $50 voucher and a whole duck which can only be redeemed in separate meal. Would recommend the braised duck which is easily the best in Singapore! The claypot pork was really good as well.

as usual their roast duck is very consistently tasty no matter which three flavour u order. service is excellent. all other dishes are just to complement the main dish in my opinion. food served are quite fast perhaps due to the reducing seatings currently but no complaints there.

restaurant is located on the 2nd level along a whole stretch of F&B establishments just very near to the customer service counter. highly recommended!
