Recently, we have seen new malls selling local designs. It is not limited to luxury goods, but puts all new Singapore brands under one roof; giving up such a very good location to local designs is a boost from the government for local brands.
However, I feel that for the future of the retail industry, we cannot rely on the government. Because in saying that, they are thinking about ideas that are completely different from the business world and the real/virtual world. How to intertwine the two is a difficult thing. Seriously? Museum Of Ice-cream?
The layout of goods are good and interesting products displayed. However, It was disappointing that the staff at the department store does not know there products well. Sunglasses were mixed up and staff were not able to give a clear explanation when asked about certain products. They do need training and upgrading in this area.
Great place to chill. Made for local, love by all.

Visited Design Orchard by chance on our way home. Surprised by the wide variety of local designed products available.
Simply loved the Wet-tee shirts, brought out alot of laughters from their puns on branded labels.
End up, bought afew pieces…pocket burn hole liao. Items were nicely packed just like branded product. Staffs were very friendly and explained the products patiently.
Kudos to one of the staff who hand-delivered (via public transport) our items when my wife mentioned she needs it quite urgently.

Fantastic store with incredibly designed items. From trendy clothes to fancy candles. There’s home decor, outerwear and lots of chic looking things for you to add to your home.
Service is ok but misleading sign outside said sales up to 50 percent, yet inside the store very few items are on sale.A nicely designed store, but very wishy washy on what target audience it wants to attract. This may well be its downfaill in a tough retail market.

This is one of the best multi brand shop in Singapore. Located in the center of orchard, near the Somerset station, and they sell clothe, bag, room fragrance, etc…, to decorate your life nicely.
On the TOP of the shop is opened are, you can enjoy scene and green from there.
Tourists can buy the goods tax free, for your information.
Best place to find best local designer brand at the level 1 store, check out sustainable fashion brand Nyananyana Eco Fashion @nyananyana_eco.

A very unique place that show cases designers of all kinds of goods.. from jewelery to Candles to soaps etc
A departure from the usual global brands all along orchard street, this store has a great collection of local brands and work from local artists. It’s always a good way to spend an hour browsing through the various items on sale. The collection changes pretty regularly as well. The entrance is wheelchair ️ accessible as well.
Queued for the Gucci Adidas launch. Most of the items were sold out but it was an interesting event.
There are many fashionable things and it is ganpuku. If you become a member, you will earn points, so it may be a little profitable and easy to buy.

Service staff looked pretty unhappy when serving. Came off pretty rude too. To wrap up my experience, not even a smile when I left the store and said “thanks”. Only an unhappy stare. Service can definitely be improved to complement this lovely space that houses the many beautiful designs.
Nice place but few selections. Some designs are nice. I got two dresses and two shirts there. But I have to say be careful about the quality before u pay. Some dresses have printing flaws here and there.

It is refreshing to locate a store on Orchard that celebrates Singaporean and S.E Asian artists. With globalisation and all the benefits it brings, the government subsidized Design Orchard project is on the right track.
I agree with a reviewer that it can be overwhelming with the incredible stories of all the artists and they should have some Brand Ambassadors on the floor to bring stories alive. Yes, their POS is powerful, however, not everyone has time to read EVERY display lol.
The team are incredibly friendly, some of the managers could be better in approaching to ask if you need assistance as opposed on focusing in folding clothes with their head down.
To end on a positive note, I love the vision. I purchased a good few items, rich of stories to gift friends and family back in the UK and US. I especially loved the work by the autistic children.

Great place to find high quality Singapore designed products in fashion and gifts. They have a regular change of products so always something new to give to the family back home. Located on Orchard Road, parking at Ascott or the Heeren, nearest MRT Somerset.
Wish there were more seats available but the view is one of a kind. Grab a coffee at Alchemist and people watch from the terrace once you’re done with shopping! ️

See, we can get bored about famous and luxury brands especially in Orchard easily. Because Almost malls and department stores has same brands. It is one of reason why so boring in Orchard area. But here, Design orchard, we can find good design and clothing or goods and jewelries which should be not too famous like above. It is very exciting to find unique design and fitting. They prepare member ship so you can earn points. They doesn’t matter where are you from.

Staffs were very nice and polite when I bought something 200+ sgd, but I had a total different experience when I bought something only 40 sgd.
It could be just the particular staff but it was disappointing experience.
I bought two paintings of Singapore artisit at 1st floor, Design Orchard and every single staff were nice. Especially a guy with glasses who usually work at counter, he was so passionate and kind. His explanation were specific and helped us to decide buy the paintings. And a lady with short hair helped to repair my slippers. Me and my family had so happy time during shopping bc of him. A beautiful boutique shop selling genuine n custume jewellery side by side .Clothes bags souvenirs all designed n made in Spore r found there so well displayed n looked v attractive indeed.But pricewise I think it’s for the well heeled.I liked n enjoyed the lovely scent of the essential oil around the shop.

Local singaporean stuff,nice
This is one of the best public spaces in Orchard Road, Singapore. I think it’s a new place. The design is so beautiful! I went to the upper level, the lower level is indoor and I think it’s shopping center. The outdoor was unique. You can see Orchard Road from above and it feels like there’s room to breathe in the middle of busy Orchard streets and buildings. It has spots to sit or take pictures. It’s surrounded by plants also. You can just sit there for free and I recommend you to go here at night, I bet it’ll be more pretty to see city lights.
The design is somehow minimalist or brutalist. It is obviously modern and sophisticated!

Came here to purchase a farewell gift for a friend and was delighted by how courteous Iffah was! She gift wrapped my presents perfectly and gave me great advice on what I should give my friend! She even gave me an extra sticker and tips on how to tie a gift ribbon etc. V impressed and touched!

The store is quite interesting, offering a variety of products.
A lot of the products are upcycled things (e.g. tables made from chopsticks) or environmentally-friendly products.
There is also a separate section currently run in collaboration with Singapore Airlines selling up-cycled aircraft items, e.g. life jackets used as the skin of a pouch and refurbished meal trolley.

Probably the most convenient place to shop for the best of local brands. Newly renovated, it is easy to navigate and houses some of the rarer pieces you may not find in other brick and mortar. Its effort to include sustainable products is also commendable. More importantly, its staff is knowledgeable and always obliging. A new fave!
The shop is wonderful .. the prices are high, but you will find all the options .. useful for buying valuable gifts .. you will find clothes, perfumes, and jewelry. I recommend visiting it

Wow! A good place really!! Designed by WOHA, can visit if youre into architecture and interior. Located in Orchard easy to reach!! Displays are very pretty!! The mirror has dual function, ceiling are pretty, products are cute and pretty! Go upstairs to 2nd floor and 3rd.
Nice publicly accessible rooftop with concrete seating in between Somerset and Orchard – pretty useful if you are looking for an open space to eat your takeout.

An eye opener for the ordinary person to look at our local designers how well they have done. A bit lost as to how to get upstairs never got that far seeing the steep staircase was a great deterrence.
