Food is good, service is good. The la mian and Xiao Long baos can’t go wrong.
seriously delicious food. best xiao long bao
Cosy seats and comfortably located, liked the hotpot rice – more wow than the xlb..
Despite our order was the last order, food serve was hot and tasty as usual!
Its always tasty… especially the hot and sour soup
I only go to the Holland Village branch for their porridge. Loved it! Other dishes were quite good or average. After having tried at many different food places, including their other branches, I still find the pork and century egg porridge here the best, with their very smooth consistency, nicely and suitably flavoured with nice tasting and tender meat. Only gripe is that their main seating area is on the second floor in an old shophouse area, therefore making it difficult to access for people who are unable to climb up and down the long flight of stairs.
Nice xiao long bao n is free flow
of course the dumpling is good but the chicken soup is also delicious
Steamboat buffet with free flow xlb. 20% off 1st seating.
I come here regularly just to get a bowl of noodles. Friendly staff and excellent service.
For a buffet Service was really nice and the food great.

Just went there this afternoon and was deeply disappointed with the overall experience. We used to enjoy going there for its ambient, quality of service and food. However these were all clearly missing. In fact we felt that the food was ordinary, portions were small, and we felt like we were in an aircon zhi zhar place with the tables all wet and bare. One thing that has gone up is the price. We will definitely not go back there again. Not worth spending our money there anymore. Sigh.
Xiao Long Bao, la mian noodles and ma la dishes. Usual high standards of Crystal Jade restaurant chain. The Xiao Long Bao is good. Delicately made and full of juicy filling and soup. Ample seating but can get crowded during meal times.
The la mian with shrimp and scallion oil, and the steamed Shanghai xiao long bao were good. The la mian was not a big portion though, and at least a couple of the xiao long baos had lost some of their soup by the time they were delivered.
Double boiled Chicken soup is abit salty. Only like the xlb.
Food was good as always but service was sub-par. One waitress in particular was rather unfriendly. We went for late tea after our exams and they weren’t very friendly and kept trying to chase us out despite it being totally empty and there only being 2 of us.
The xiao long bao buffet is value for money.
I think they could do with a menu overhaul. Needs more dim sum dishes. One would assume with a name like this, it would be more dim sum oriented then they currently are.
But the vibe and the atmosphere and the location are unbeatable. Really good customer service and attention to detail
When I dunno.what to eat, I come here..This.place seldom go.wrong.
XLB’s skin is on the thick side, so not to my preference. The rest of the hotpot ingredients were pretty average at most. Still, this place seems to be popular for families.
The service is very poor, I was arranged to sit at the corner of the restaurant, it took forever for the staff to notice me and order for me even though the staffs are not busy. They literally threw the bill on my table. I ordered chilled poached chicken lamian, the presentation of the food is messy. Food itself is ok just not that authentic. I felt the Chinese noodle stall at Alexandra Hawker Center does much better job than here. Will not visit again.
Convenience place at MRT Holland village
09/06/18
Food is generally average but pricy. The Chinese pancake is actually Indian prata with spring onion and pork floss. However, The Spinach that is cooked over chicken broth with ikan iblis is simple & fantastic.
Good …
Decent chinese restaurant , one of famous brand in singapore.
Restaurant conveniently located near to holland village mrt.
Well decorated restaurant. Most of seating area located at level 2. Need to take staircase.
Food wise is average standard. Price is reasonable. Their staff able to provide promptly service.
Not a bad place for Chinese food in Holland V
It seems like forever since I have been here but god, the aftermath hasn’t changed.
I still remember vividly it was about 5 years ago when one of us were celebrating our 21st that we came here. 4 of us ordered 21 “long” of XLB. And today, history has repeated itself..
We took the 1st round of dinner buffet at 5pm, and were quickly ushered in on the dot to the second level where there was only about 8 tables being served. For a Sunday on a week before Father’s day, I consider it pretty surprising.
Our orders were served fast and our tummies were quickly filled with the free-flow XLB. That said, only 1 was in perfect condition out of all 21 “longs” that we ordered, the rest broke whilst we try to grab it..
The tomato soup was actually a tard too sweet for my liking, and the pork slices a little too thick as well. The drinks selection quite limited but the sauce pantry was clean and abundant.
It was definitely value for money given the amount we ordered, on top of the 20% off for the first round of dinner, which in my opinion is very ideal given that I’m bloated till 11pm.
All in all, 3.5 stars for the food but 5 stars for the service and price
Great food with efficient service.
Their xiao long bao buffet is absolutely amazing but it is practically impossible to phone in a reservation. It might be a hassle, but if you’re able to come down (or send a proxy down), making a reservation in person guarantees you a table.
usually we sit downstairs for quick bites. the service is not as good as ding tai fun but less crowded. the food quality is ok.. most people come for the steamboat so it seems to be long queue. but if you want only simple meal, such as noodles or soup, it’s a ok place to go.
Very good food
It’s a nice place since we had seats upstairs. We had the Shanghai Xiao Long Bao, Spicy Dumplings and Fried Brown Rice in a hot stone bowl. Quite impressed with both Xiao Long Bao and Dumplings. Surprised that the Fried Brown Rice is so good. They put all other kind of condiments that makes it eating so pleasant! U should try it.
Quality of xlb drops as the night goes on. Order more at the start
I’m addicted to Dan Dan Noodle. All said!
Fast efficient service for Cantonese style dim sum and dishes. Ordered the xiao loong pau and noodles. Tasty and value for the quality/portions.
Loved their clay pot fried mixed grain rice. The rest was ok….found the skin of Xiao long BAO to be too thick.
Nice tradition chinese dishes with a modern twist.
Paradise dynasty is better in almost every aspect.
Decent place in Holland Village. The quality of food is average and would need to level up to match the other franchises in order to maintain the quality of Crystal Jade that ought to have.
Noodles and sea food fried rice so good
You can never go wrong with all you can eat Xiao Long Bao! Would really recommend this restaurant if you have a big appetite. Otherwise, you can opt for having a late dinner here (past 10pm) for a discount. Do take note of the time of different batches, because they do rush you off if you don’t do finish on time…
Best place for Xiao Long Bao buffet. Affordable prices and includes hotpot buffet too.
Very good food, especially the buffet. Ideal for group hangout, hence the place might get pretty noisy at dinner time. Note the place is very popular, and the booking phone could hardly get through within the first 3-5 trials.
Disappointed with all 5 dishes ordered, especially Szechuan sliced beef, not authentic at all, the beef is not the right beef and it is tasteless. Overall very disappointed. Suggest to go to Paradise Dynasty for better alternative.
One of the best place for Chinese cuisine..
Loved the steamboat buffet! Will definitely come back
Delicious Chinese food at reasonable prices. Service is fast and efficient. The dumplings and Mapo tofu were mouth watering.
Been a faithful customer for a long time now. Food is ok, but portion is shrinking like my bank account . Price is getting higher to the point you don’t find it worthwhile any more. Reconsider your pricing, quantity and quality. Service staff is friendly when you finally get their attention after waving your hands in the air like you don’t care. The Crystal Jade restaurant next door has the same problem. Anyway, 加油!!!
Simple restaurant, reasonable pricing
Ordered some food for light late dinner. Food is average. The ice tea and service are below average.
Good food, good ambience!
All hail xlb buffet (dinner only, around $30)! Difficult to get booking unless call a day or two before, or go at 5.30. Other than the buffet just like any other crystal jade Cantonese style restaurant you would expect.
Time limit might be tight because xlb takes some time to come out so order ahead.
Nice dim sum. Chilli crab Xiao long bao was delicious
As good as XLB gets in Singapore for decent prices but it’s still darn pricey ha ha ha
Staff were very friendly, very professional, and even walked me through signing up for a free membership for discounts and rebates.
Good consistent food over the years. Family loves it. They have a wicked steamboat in the evenings as well. They include new sichuan dishes which are pretty good and well worth to try
Good food, not cheap
No frills Chinese Diner for Xiao Long Bao and La Mian. Attentive Service Staff with a smile.
Unlimited Crystal Jade Xiao Long Bao Steamboat Buffet. Very difficult to get a place even if you call in to book a place. Limited to 3 prawns per person…
Nice with resonable chinese foods in a restaurant setting.
XLB was not bad as I had better. Session was in a rush.
Great food here as always. Can’t go wrong ordering dim sum and la mian
Good food, good service.
4 star for the employee for not helping me w the door when I’m carrying a baby with both hands. Not expecting an opening gesture. But a little help to close the door?
You should try their xiao long bau buffet. Worth the price!
Good hot pot buffet + unlimited xiao long pao for dinner. Spread and quality are reasonable for the pricing, but the time limit of 1.5hr per seating (fixed sessions) was very tight. We could not really leisurely enjoy the food. So if you come for this, be punctual for the booking, order your food quickly, don’t waste time chitchatting and focus more on the eating!
Decent quality xiao long baos, especially so for their evening hot pot buffet. Different timings have different price points (the later it is the cheaper it gets). Gets the job done, but nothing too fanciful.
Affordable and yummy steamboat with free flow Xiao Long Bao. Soooo good.
XLB is the besttT!!!! i like it alot! good service.
Food is decent but hugely over priced
Food was alright and quite enjoyable. No complains at all about service or quality. Pretty standard fare by Crystal Jade. Ordered the xiao long bao, go tie and the 炸酱面. Wasn’t too crowded at lunch.
In comparison, I think that the restaurants from the Paradise franchise fare better.
Came here with some friends for the Steamboat buffet, and it did not disappoint. Copious amounts of delicious food with attentive staff.
Good food from Crystal Jade as usual! If you are a noodle fan, the La Mian dishes and selection does not disappoint! Found out also that they have the steamboat buffet at this outlet as well. If you are going for the steamboat buffet, please do book in advance as it is quite packed during mealtimes.
The food was amazing as always but overall it was quite disappointing for my family because it was not possible to get the attention of a single service staff.
Place was crowded but could still afford to seat 8 pax for a sunday lunch at 1.30pm. Food and service was good too. Mileslife app can be used at the outlet as well. Great way to earn you some miles.
No-fuss Chinese food, good la mian and Xiao long bao.
On occasion I’ll go to this restaurant. Normally I would say that it’s 4-, but this time. Nothing stood out: food, environment, and service was ok–but nothing stood out. Will go back again, though. …
It was a buffet, so food quality was acceptable but nothing to shut about…
Crystal Jade never fails to deliver top quality food. the ramen to the soup to the xiao long baos. Very fast and efficient service!
Can easily miss this entrance …
Standards have dropped considerably and the dishes can be priced better, value for money. Quality can be greatly improved upon. The waitresses served with a smile though. …
Famed for their Dumplings but their other dishes were still flavourful and reasonably riced for the quality served. Service was as expected, good and attentive. We gave visited multiple times and never been left disappointed.

Whenever me and my family come here we always order the same food items – scallion oil noodles and Xiao Long Bao. They make the best noodles and Xiao Long Baos in town.
Service is always friendly and the dining environment pleasant. We will return for more of course!
Expensive buffet. Normal food served.
Great service! Good food! Value for money! If the buffet timing per session can extent a little longer would be wonderful!
Still good after all these years.. standard is maintained. Luv especially the 红油抄手
Want to drop a compliment to the staff of Crystal Jade lamian xiaolongbao! I absentmindedly left my wallet at the restaurant and they not only kept it intact for me, tied it tightly with plastic bag and even went the extra mile of searching me on Facebook to inform me. And I forgot about it for 2 days and nothing was missing. Kudos to the staff! Esp Joel.
Whenever me and my family come here we always order the same food items – scallion oil noodles and Xiao Long Bao. They make the best noodles and Xiao Long Baos in town.
Service is always friendly and the dining environment pleasant. We will return for more of course!
I was at this restraunt on saturday . It was hot and we wanted to da bao some food . After numerous reminders we were about to give up but luckily the lady was kind even though the waiting time was long the quality service and food made me give it three stars of not it will be one star
It was the last meal in Singapore with my son who fly back that night and we wanted to have a special lunch with dim sum. Even though we ordered the xio long bao twice, I think the best dish was the noodle with scallion. It is strongly recommendable! Just I felt that the cleanliness was not good as I sitted near the dirty window.
This place, particularly this location is always great. Don’t really appreciate the 50% Chinese New Year Markup though
The OG place to go for XLB and other Chinese food! This place used to be rather popular in the past, but we managed to walk in on a Friday evening without any reservations. Food quality is still superb – and there were many good 1-for-1 UOB deals. But what impressed me the most was the staff, the Chinese aunties on the first floor (name tag just said service staff) was attentive and thoughtful and really provided a great overall experience. Thumbs up for excellence customer service!
Just happened upon this place and had lunch here. The egg fried rice, pan fried pork dumplings and the spring rolls were great! Prices good too.
Xiao Long Bao buffet is pretty worth it, but think it would be better if the duration was 2 hours instead of 1.5 and the experience wasn’t so rushed.
Great food, nice staff
Dishes are really good. Staff was unaware and our dishes came out slow
I absolutely visit again! Price is reasonable.
The famous buffet is not really worth the money and is limited in choices. The ala cart menu are a different story.
Food standard has been well maintained
Witnessed the staff measuring the safety distance for customer sitting. They really make sure that they follow the regulations set so as to do their part to protect customers to dine safely
It’s quite possibly the best Xiao Long Bao I have ever eaten. Definitely going back for seconds, and thirds!
小笼包lover can go there for steamboat buffet. Ingredients are fresh and soup is good.
Been here for many many years. Decor have not changed a bit, menu have definitely changed and increased more dishes.. but a few of the important factors have dropped drastically.
1) Service.
They seems like understaff. 2 waitresses on top on the 2nd floor but isn’t attentive to request.
2) Food Standards
I always come for a single dish since for years. Its their noddle soup. Their Conpoy & Shrimp Dumpling Noddle soup is used to be the number 1 noodle that compare with the rest of Chinese cuisine restaurant. Their noodle used to be very crisp and loosen that taste extremely different from the rest.. but today it somehow disappointed by the shocking noodle that is like a normal grade of noodle that sells at the hawker stall. It saddens.
Generally, the food is acceptable. It just that noodle standard is really bad.
Great noodle place, but it’s feeling a little pricey. Wife had the small bowl of the spicy sour noodles (there are 3 types of small bowl noodles to choose from), while I had the dry noodles with chicken soup (would have been better if there was some flavour to the plain noodles like how some eateries do it). Guo tie (pan-fried dumplings) was 3 for $8.10++, while the drinks set us back $4.50 a glass (had a large glass of great warm HK milk tea). There was a small plate of plant-based bakkwa (dried meat) that we weren’t sure was complimentary, as it came with an advertising label, or chargeable. We tried a few pieces, and left it mostly untouched otherwise. Turns out it cost us $4.80++. Total bill set us back $70+ (we had a plate of well-fried long beans dish too) for our small family of 3 (with a 5-year old in tow). To sum… good food as always, but dining experience felt expensive.
Had several memorable moments here with group of friends and love
Steamboat was pretty average (choices were limited as well) but the unlimited flow of decent Xiao Long Bao made up for it
The food is normal for the kind of price you pay. The burning duck is gimmicky.
We got extra xiao long pao if you use UOB card 1plus 1 deal. The braised meatballs were good. We also had the theee wggs spinach, cucumbers. Service is quite attentive. But the keep bringing other people’s food to our table.
If you like xiao long bao…
Come for the free flow… and get to eat steamboat as well.
Expect a delightful oriental experience at comfortable prices.
Definitely worth the value for the level of tastiness you can find at this price point!
For the more adventurous, try their spicy dumplings for the authentic experience.
Or for the more conservative, try out their succulent and juicy Dongpo braised pork.
Average, maybe a little better than average. Overpriced for the service standard and quality as a whole.
All you can eat Xiao Long Bao and a hot pot buffet package for a good 30sgd+!!
A large portion of xiao long bao eat order, a wide range of meat, seafood and others to choose from. Great for gatherings!!
The short hair, plump aunty servicing staff needs more polishing on services
The service of the food was very slow. Our order for a dish was not served even we had finished our main courses, which was 1 hour later. La Mian was good and QQ. But the Seafood fried rice was bland.
Crystal Jade, is worth more than GOLD, FANTASTIC!
Food quality is quite bad. Taste like it’s been reheated. Pork lard has that re-fried oil taste, and its soft (fried and left aside for too long)
Only saving grace was the service of the staffs here.
Very disappointing.
Probably the best all you can eat xiao long bao & hot pot in Singapore! Unlike most of other all you can eat places, the ingredients that they use in here is very fresh. Besides, our xiao long baos are made in the same batch as the ones that are made for the ala carte orders, thus no compromise in terms of quality. Be sure to make reservations in advance!
Enjoy eating there. Given the pressure to leave the place as soon as we finish, at least I have the reasons not to sit there and waste time. Thanks.
Best quality chinese resto in Holland Street.
Quality of food befitting the crystal jade brand. Love that the xiao Long bao comes in interesting flavours, tried the chilli crab version this visit.
In 2012: Best xiao long bao in town. Tasty food and decently priced
In 2018: Avoid. Overpriced.
Food was good. A little pricey as quantity for each dish is too little. Xiao long bao was good though
Service is always at its best. Food quality is never disappointing. Book early for the buffet.
Excellent. Crowded even with time allocation. A bit pricy but you can eat all you want within the time frame.
The xlb buffet is good but don’t try their lb slices.. The taste of the Lamb is intolerance
3/5 for the food. The best dish we tried there was the roast duck. The skin is very crispy with just the right amount of fats.
The beef brisket soup la mian is okay. The la mian is very Q and chewy. But soup wise, we prefer 鼎泰丰‘s one which is more savory.
The xiao long bao is very different as compared to that of 鼎泰丰. The skin is probably 3X thicker than that of 鼎泰丰. The soup inside the xiao long bao tastes different too. So it comes down to personal preferences.
The 葱抓饼 is okay, not fantastic, but okay.
3/5 for the value for money. Overall, a bit pricey as compared to other Chinese restaurants in similar tier when factoring in the quality of food.
4/5 for the service.
Can be a bit pricey, but I feel that their xiaolongbaos are better than Din Tai Fung’s
I gave 4 stars for variety of delicious good. Buffet includes free flow of xiao long bao, prawns and other meaty ingredients. The down sides are overcrowded, lack of staffs attending you and buffet timing is 1.5 hours only. If you want to visit this branch, come early or off-peak. However, some don’t mind the crowd. Check out for baby-friendly restaurants at roundmama.wordpress.com
Went there for a weekday dinner. The taste and variety were good. We especially enjoyed mapo tofu and cold eggplant appetizer a lot. Salted egg dumplings and kung pao chicken were not bad either. The service was okay, nothing in particular. The one thing we didnt enjoy was the packed seating area. It was really noisy since we were downstairs and very close to kitchen, entrance and other people’s tables. Couldnt hear each other while speaking and left the restaurant with a mild headache. Recommended for food not for ambiance. Will be trying other outlets.
Not bad, came here few weeks ago for the xiao long baos but were totally sold out (around 7pm). Quite unexpected. Instead, ordered peanut la mian. Very strong nutty taste with thick umami flavour. The noodles had good consistency. Very impressed, it was around $15++. Not exactly value for money, but a very fun taste. Will not be back for this but only for xiao long bao yes
Had a lunch on Friday there. I like scrumptious Sichuan dan dan noodle with peanut source. Also tried the signature XiaoLongBao – black truffle, chill crab and salt egg, not extremely good but very Singaporean flavor.
Good quality Shanghai style food
Consistent with other reviews, quality of food seems missing these days. No wonder for the missing queues where you had to call 3 weeks in advance to get a booking.
Good for Chinese food but nothing special. Atmosphere is not great.
Good xiao long bao and stir fry veggie. Taste was still reminiscent of that in the past. On my last visit after 2pm on a weekend, place has got plenty of tables. Food quality was good, dong bo rou was tough. Service crews were quick and attentive.
Place too cramped. Staff attentive. Food as good as I remember.
Should improve service on pouring tea without asking
Delicious and affordable but don’t order the la mian, it tasted like fish paste
Used to be good, but recently not sure why standard has dropped… both taste and service wise.. I love the soup noodles here.
Worth it. Excellent bao, good hotpot. The time limit makes it less confortable than other places.
Average
Maybe a little better than average. Overpriced for the service standard
I do prefer the steamboat buffet at plaza singapura. At least its self service and I get to pick the portion myself. And service was better.
Food is almost always consistently good
Absolutely horrible fried rice – worse than any of the tze char stalls in hawkers.
Strange tasting and smelling frozen chicken .
Hard rice .
Eggs are sparse.
They should just close the outlet .
The dishes we ordered were well executed but I could dock a star for the dismal state of the restrooms which frankly came as quite a shock compared to the rest of the restaurant.
Good dumplings and noodle. So happy to see the noodle coming in small bowl because it caters to our preference when it comes to portioning (also reducing risk of not finishing the food).
Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao offers both ala carte and buffet menus. On Mother’s Day, there are four sessions of steamboat buffet at 5:00-6:30 pm, 6:45-8:15 pm, 8:30-10:00 pm, and 10:15-11:45 pm. Reservation is a must as the buffet is in high demand. The highlight of the buffet is the steamed soupy pork dumplings (xiao long bao). We ordered two types of soups, Szechuan pepper and chicken. The food was fresh, tasty, and more than sufficient for all of us. We rounded the meal with osmanthus jelly, grass jelly with fruits, and two smallish mantou. The only concerned is that diners have exactly 1.5 hours to finish their meal. No grace period is given. :p
Buffet dinner only fantastic food it’s free flow Xiao Long Bao.. steamboat variety so so..
The standard of the food has dropped tremendously. Ordered 2 mains and both were disappointing. The ZhaJiangMian was extremely gooey that some bites were chunks of starch. Their Shanghai Fried Rice Cake was just pieces of shredded pork fried, cabbage & rice cake fried in plain soy sauce.
The waitress however was extremely delightful & took our dissatisfaction with the food very seriously. Service recovery was there, so props to them.
Hope to see an improvement in their food standard as they were my go-to LaMian place.
good place for family gathering, and serving decent chinese cuisine. yum yum
This is a bread and butter Chinese restaurant. Food is tasty and price is reasonable.
Innovative and new recipes from Crystal Jade Xiao Long bao are delicious and refined. Sit and be prepared to be impressed by the delicate and beautiful presentation of Chinese cuisine by patient and attentive staff . The mugwort steamed glutinous dumplings, dong ding oolong and pork floss with salted yolk pastry puffs are just perfect . Will be back for the noodles next time
Their xiao long bao steamboat buffet is very satisfying, i have 4 serving of xiao long bao with others things we order for steamboat. its value for money and definitely beats the steamboat along Bugis Liang Seah st
The food is good, but service is not. Need improve with the service.
Late night hotpot and xiao long bao buffet. Great deals for a late dinner in holland village
Good Dim sum, great food. The staff is friendly too. Recommend.
Moderately nice xiao long bao buffet, which tends to get overly crowded during peak hours, as they have only limited slots. Place is enough to satisfy your craving, but don’t expect great service or food.
Food okay but ignored by staff
Ordered braised beef la mian, quite good
Nice xiaolongbao, good place for team building maybe
Crystal Jade is always keeping high standard on their food quality and service. The la Mian and Xiao long bao are just as good as before. However, this is the first time I feel a bit disappointed about their food. We ordered the CNY menu special items (colourful dim sum) looks very good but somehow they are quiet dry and not that tasty.
When in doubt of what to eat, always choose crystal jade. It won’t go wrong.
Good ambience, great service, quality Chinese food. Loved the crispy Roast Duck.
Excellent food and service. Staff are friendly and food is still excellent although the quality of the food has gone down a little bit.
Good place to eat. Staff is great with attentive service. Food quality is a bit inconsistent each time I go there. Sometimes it comes out piping hot, sometimes warm like it had been sitting in the back too long. Sometimes too salty, sometimes just right, sometimes too bland.
Came here for their buffet. Pork bone soup is my Favourite. The free flow of xiaolongbao is what’s great here. The rest of the ingredients are pretty average
Loved Their 葱油拉面 You Won’t Get Sick Of… Their 小笼包 Can Be Competitive w Ding Tai Fung’s I Would Say… Yummy~ …
No longer as nice as 4 years ago. Lesser variety but xlb is still quite good!
Service wise is ok. But the food is not worth the cost and effort. It is a poor imidation of a popular Xiao long bao restaurant but the food really not up to standard. I tried the Dan Dan Ramen. How do you explain the favour of naked noodles with pork soup mix with peanut sauce and chili oil. The texture and favor is so bad that I not eating it after 2 bites.
And it is expensive. Not worth the eat.
Had the buffet. Xiao long bao was delicious and served quickly. 1.5 hours a little too rushed. About 2 hours will be nice.
Popular with a young crowd for Steamboat buffet. Price includes free-flow Coke, barley or tea, but ice water is charged at $0.30 a glass.
The xiao long bao dumplings here used to be the gold standard. Popping each one into the mouth was pure joy. Having moved overseas for many years, I’d heard from friends the standard has dropped. Well I had to try it for myself. What a disappointment! The skin is so thick and flavor couldn’t hold a candle to Din Tai Fung. The XLB here reminds me of frozen packaged ones. Hope they’ll bring back their game again.
Went here twice in a month.
Once for a farewell dinner on a friday night and the place was jam packed but the food was so good that I convinced my wife to go again 2 weeks after.
But the second visit wasn’t as good as the first. This time around we went on a Sunday evening. And there isnt much people. But the soup was bland and service is lacking this time around. Though the Xiao Long Bao still retain its standard.
Not the best outlet. Service is okay. Ngee Ann city and Suntec are far better.
Consistent for quality throughout.
Reminiscing old times with the XLB Steamboat buffet… :’) XLB is as good and soup base was very yummy! #Burpple #foreverhungry #singaporeeats #instagood #chope #hungryeatwhat #hungryeatwhere #foodie #foodiesg #hungrygowhere #cafesg #singapore #sgfood #letsguide
No more hot pot options, the duck is worth a try
Quite expensive for what it is. You can find better for cheaper in Singapore. Closes early — started cleaning up the table even before we were done.
Not very nice dim sum
enjoy dinner with colleague
Taste of dumplings no where near Ding Tai Feng. chicken soup was nice though.
As always, great standards maintained all through the COVID circuit breaker. Efficient, fine tasting food. Always good to revisit…
Great food and prompt service with a smile
Food quality is good, definitely worth a visit at its price point. However, the time limit can be rather pressurising, especially given that the staff would repeatedly remind you how much time you have left, and that you need to finish up soon. Overall still a good experience
Liked the spicy sauce of the appetiser. Would appreciate if the chicken was cut to smaller pieces.
Broth of beef brisket noodle was rich and the tendon was very soft! La mian also went well with the spicy sauce of the appetiser!
Also, liked that the truffle xiaolongbao was not too overpowering.
Nice. Like most such places. Ok for a casual meal.
Steamboat is available here with 2 different seating timing. We took the 8.30PM one and gets to dine till 10PM. Comes with complimentary plate of prawns.
All time favorite!
Deluxe local Chinese cuisine! One of the best roasted meat and chinese noodles.
My favorite crystal jade restaurant as it offers all you can eat hotpot and Xiao Long Bao. It is delicious and great value. In addition, downstairs at floor one you can do at la carte menu for the ones that does not want all you can eat. Price is same across the locations. (20-40 per pax) depending on how much you eat.
Overall I would rate this place with the following:
Location: 9/10
Ambient: 8/10
Taste: 9/10
Service: 8/10
Price: 7/10
Buffet hotpot all you can eat. All good
Nice place for some xiao long bao. Xiao long bao.. gotta eat them hot! Last night the skin seems to be a bit thicker.
Delicious Chinese food. Only a bit expensive nowadays. Great service though.
Came here for the steamboat buffet which was soso only. Thick pork bone soup and Siew Long Bao were very nice but the rest of ingredients were soso only. Free drinks and free dessert
Value for money steamboat & xiao long bao buffet
Tried the supposedly new menu pork rib la mian and four flavours xiao long bao. La mian wasn’t new. Wasn’t crowded on a weekday lunch, comfy window seats on the second level, which is good dining experience.
Food quality; decent. Service quality; unpleasant night for us
The regular menu is ok, but their hotpot menu is amazing. The quality of food is great, the price is very reasonable, the service is friendly. One of the best place to have hotpot in Singapore.
Our first visit to this Crystal Jade outlet in many years, and we were so pleasantly surprised by how much the food has improved over the years, at the same reasonable price.
The mala crispy chicken was AMAZING – tender meat, crispy thin skin, with most of the mala sauce placed at the side (i thought this was very thoughtful, so customers can decide how mala they want the chicken to be). The mala is more spicy than numbing which is what we prefer.
The dan dan mian was served in a big bowl of slightly spicy peanut sauce, which they nailed it perfectly. The sauce coats the noodles generously, yet, it’s light enough to drink it on its own.
Being huge fans of impossible meat, we tried their seasonal impossible bak kut teh xlbs, and we have to say it’s the best we have tasted from Crystal Jade. Couldn’t tell at all that these are not pork
Apart from the delicious meal, the staff also made us feel welcomed even though we were one of the last customers. Overall a really good experience here this time.
I love the Xiao Long Bao here, its really good! The egg fried rice here is also one of the best I’ve ever eaten! I’m definitely coming back here again!
Very tasty XLB on the same level as Paradise Dynasty and Din Tai Fung, although a little bit more on the expensive side.
Other dishes are good too. Portions are pretty generous and service is fast.
Definitely a good place for Sunday dinner!
The staff was super attentive and the food was p good!
COVID-19 period doesn’t provide the buffet. But buy one get one free for the big size Xiao Long Bao if you spend more than 50 SGD.
Consistently good food – value for money
When I want to eat Don Don noodle, I always visit this shop. And also staff are kind and nice …
Szechuan chicken noodle is my favourite as always
