We ate at Suntec branch last weekend. Food was 4 stars due to a dish that had very few meat than what we expected and more yam but other than that it was won over by Yang Chow Fried Rice. Ambience is 5 for social distancing and cleanliness too. Highly recommend the Deep Fried Fish Skin with Salted Egg Yolk, Salted Egg Custard Buns and Signature Honey Roasted Pork. The staff were very attentive and kept refilling our drinks too which we appreciate due to the thirst from wearing masks. Good job to the cashier, very efficient that we didn’t wait for too long compared to other restaurants.

The stars are for the fact the restaurant employs older folks for service staff.

Unfortunately, the good service I had experienced from the taka branch (also services by seniors) did not happen in this branch. Perhaps I had come on a bad day for them for most of them the faces were black and not a smile could be seen from service staff.

I also noticed that many had ordered dim sum around me. That could explain why my food (consisting of signature pork, basic tomato egg and spinach) did not taste as good as I had hoped to be (did spent sgd $81 plus for 2 adults and a baby).

The staff here are so nice! I ordered a soy sauce stir fried noodle without knowing that they add ginger in it. After taking one bite I informed them that I don’t take ginger and they willingly made another one for me without ginger and the likes. It was so tasty even without the ginger, leek and coriander! It is challenging to cook this way and a lot of restaurants would just pile on the salt meaninglessly, but not here.

This is still our fave run-of-the mill family HK restaurant. On a usual weekday night after work, this is true comfort food. Don’t expect Mott32 standards here and you won’t be disappointed. Thumbs up!

Mostly run of the mill dim sum, but their siew mai was the exception with fresh prawns. Har gow also has bouncy fresh prawns, but the skin was a little soggy.

Not sure why there’s peanut sauce slathered on their 炸兩, which caused the dough fritters wrapped within the rice rolls to be soggy. Shouldn’t it be served without any sauce, and we pour soy sauce on it just before eating?

Deep fried salted egg, mushroom pork ball was a major disappointment despite being listed as a special item on the menu. Very imbalanced ingredients for the filling – way too much potato which made it very dry, thick and one-dimensional.

Beancurd roll 腐皮卷 didn’t seem to be wrapped with 腐皮. Seems more like a deep fried seafood roll instead.

Service was very efficient and staff were friendly.

This restaurant has been in the same location but I believe was renovated recently and no longer has a separate bakery and a bigger restaurant space. It still sells some baked goods by the cashiers which is available for take away.

Love the spinach soup, egg tarts and baked bbq pork pastry.

    Food tastes the same, good.

For the classic five spice marinated pork rice dumpling, nothing special. I would rate it 1 star. Can’t really taste the salted egg and also the pork were really tough.

Mdm Foong Sin serve us well from ordering to clearing the table. Our tea cup is 90% fill all times. Keep up the good work.

The Xiao Long Bao is a bit greasy, but I ate three plates, and the meat in the picture similar to Dong Po Pork tastes like eating rice together. After 3pm, there is also a happy hour (?) that sells Hong Kong noodles + dim sum at a slightly cheaper price, so if the time is right, it would be good to use it well.
However, there were not many kinds of noodles, so there was no beef noodles.. that was a pity.

The good old days where crystal jade was the go-to place is probably over. The food isn’t bad, but it just kind of stayed stagnant. The fried items I had today was filled with oil. Every bite of the spring roll ended with an oily taste in my mouth. The only saving grace is the server at our table. I’m probably not coming here again if there are other choices available.

Waitress forgot our order of ice water.. manager walk away with our request without coming back. Need to ask again from other waitress. Overall is not the kind of experience you expect from crystal jade .

Ever since pre-pandemic days.. I would always pop into Crystal Jade @ Suntec for a quick lunch.. but after all the difficult lockdowns and inconveniences.. my missus and I are finally back at Crystal Jade @ Suntec on Sunday 22/5/2022.. at around 2pm..
Unfortunately lots of popular Dim Sum dishes were sold out by then and the ones we had.. were disappointing.
We ordered their wanton noodles and their new special sweet/spicy meat sauce noodles too.. ouch! Way too sweet! And not spicy..
Their dumpling in chili and vinegar sauce.. was real sad.. no where comparable to the ones at Ding Tai Fung.
Probably all the chefs are suffering from a withdrawal symptom.. quality of food is abysmal and service too.. probably very short staffed..
    Hope things improve.

My wife and I were frequent customers of Crystal Jade for a good many years, until we turned vegetarian. Their recently introduced plant-based menu brought us back and we were very happy with the dishes.

We enjoyed the Omni meat ball congee (Crystal Jade’s excellent congee texture is still there), fried spring roll with Beyond Beef and truffle mushroom mayo, and wok fried asparagus with truffle oil.

Our experience was made even more pleasant when we chatted with a long-time service staff that worked across a few of their outlets through the years.

    Well done Crystal Jade!

Dim Sum here is still as good. Due to COVID 19 , we sat 5 pax per table. There is option to sit outside with fountain view which is very pleasant. A number of items were not available however, the popular ones are still available . If you drive, nearest carpark is the Red Zone, Lion section, either EE or DD lots.

I lunch frequently at Crystal Jade Suntec and often invite our interns. While the run-of-the-mill dim sums, roast pork, roast duck, etc are pretty acceptable, the live seafood is a complete No-No!

I judge a restaurant by how well they steam live seafood. Crystal Jade totally failed in their “Marble Goby Steam in traditional style”. The fish was not fresh and the sauce was bland.

I ordered “Live Prawns Steam with garlic”. The prawns were small and lack the springy crunch of fresh prawns. The only saving grace was the sauce.

Considering that fresh fish or prawns are the costlier dishes, I guess Crystal Jade is more comfortable with roasts rather than dealing with fresh seafood.

The service is a hit and miss, compared to other restaurants of the same calibre. I had given the serving staff, a list of 8 dishes from the menu, and asked to be served in the order I had set out starting with appetizers, working up to the main plates and wrapping up with dessert. They completely ignored my request and served the dishes haphazardly as they see fit. Seems the goal of the chef is to get the dishes out of the kitchen as fast as possible for the serving staff to plonk them on the table. There is absolutely no sequencing of the dishes.

Two weeks ago, I was at Roland Restaurant and highly impressed with their service and food:
Changes of plate at every dish. Pouring of tea every now and then. Excellently executed Fresh Steam Marble Goby. The right sequencing of dishes starting from the lighter, working up towards the chili crab.

What I look for in a restaurant is Food & Service. Crystal Jade can do better.

It’s was a frequent place for family meal when my daughters were young and the restaurant outlet was at Shaw centre.

After they have grown up , we somehow stopped visiting this Chinese restaurant because the youngsters these days prefer Japanese and other western foods.

It was in March that I revisited the restaurant with some Chinese customers in Holland Village and fell in love with these dishes such as organic tofu, spinach with fresh bean curd skin , 五福鳮(which come with 5 type of sauces..) clay pot fresh prawn with 冬粉 in black pepper , etc etc

I was extremely disturbed by a certain staff ‘Mak miew Chee’, she was rude impolite and seemed like she didn’t want to converse with those that didn’t speak in mandarin. Multiple items that I ordered she claimed wasn’t available, then when I asked to speak to someone that spoke English she replied to my partner in mandarin saying they are busy. I then insisted on leaving, guess what? All the food came back to availability. Absolutely disgusted by the antics.

The service of this branch must be improved. Though there were no queue, we waited like 10 mins queuing while none of the waitress entertainment us. Finally got a table, right after order, the beverages were served with wrong order. After that when the food came, everything just turned into more disappointment.

The Xiao Long Bao weren’t juicy, the skin were too thick. We ordered vegetables with assorted eggs in superior broth, it was tasteless and cold when serving to us.

Pricey. The serving size is really small. Double combo meat, two types of meat that is bite size cost busbover $30!
A tiny plate of appetiser (braised peanut) is $2.60!
Stirred fried veg was good. Dim sum was good. But tofu dish, soup and noodle had room for improvement, the taste was lousy. It was a disappointing meal.
    Service staff was attentive.

My group decided we will not be back. There are many other chinese restaurants..And local big Restaurant group (P. Gdn) that will provide you with a better experience.

Food options are similar to Paradise Dynasty nearby but service and food quality is not as good. Beef asparagus was salty. 3 types of meats Sui yuk, duck and char siew is pretty good but I don’t like that they poured gravy over it.

Not sure what’s happening, seems like either not enough cooks or something.. Waited almost 1hr for beef brisket noodle +wanton mee to come out….40mins for fried tofu.. premium prices but everything else is not premium..crystal jade not polished anymore like when it first was. …no dim sum, no congee, some drinks don’t have.think they are shrinking their menu soon, cannot cope?. Another brand shrinking?

Went on a weekday night , restaurant was mostly empty, though the food was good and tasty, the service and the ambience is a let down and they charge for drinking water and wet wipes ! Also some of the food comes early and the rest does not show up until you re ask for it – and yes or should it be no- as none of their famous dim sums were were available that evening

I usually hv dim sum there but this time tried their ala carte dish. We ordered some common dishes – egg plant with minced pork, tofu with chicken cube & salted fish, their signature XO carrot cakes & combo bbq meat. The only special dish is fried brown rice with bean paste fish & egg white. Taste of the common dishes is so so only for the price offered. You can get same dish with same or better quality at cheaper price in some of the Tze Char stalls or Chinese restaurants at Chinatown. Special dish is not bad. Quite unique and taste good.
Btw, please skip their claypot rice. For the price you pay, better off with shop specialise in claypot rice.

service is quite fast and precise. Some marketing but not too pushy.

Average food considering the price. Sauteed kai lan was way way too salty would not recommend. Truffle ee fu noodles were alright — not a strong truffle taste in the noodles, mainly in the mushrooms. Could be worth a try if you reeally like ee fu noodles and reeeally like truffle :3

Food is not bad, actually delicious – including salted custard bun, vegetables (watercress, kai lan), yangchow fried rice, among others.

Crystal Jade as a chain is good for bringing your family and friends if you want good dependable food to entertain others (and i would do so), but if you want something mind blowing, you might do better to be more adventurous instead

there’s a dish here that many of you who thought crystal jade is just your average chi zhar place with a higher price tag, you r wrong ! one dish u must try here is deep fried red tilapia fish with sweet and sour sayce ! they deep fried it well with the correct temperature that allows us to bite and even swallow the tail of the fish, the sauce is the star here,
done right and done damn good ! and of course to top off with a price tag of $24/- you have my many many star to vote !

The food wise nothing to complain on but tons on the service.
    – The food was being missed and we need to remind them, even we just order 4 items….
    – my Har Kau was contaminated by my chicken feet, so taste is off.
    – Ordered cold milk tea but was being given the hot container and spilled huge plastic bag.
Note that the restaurant is 50% empty, so busy wise, they are hiding behind counter or kitchen, hard to call them

Depending on which outlet you patronize. Dim-sum overall standards are good, but expensive. They have removed the fry pork ribs La-Mian from the menu…..disappointing.
