Most food stalls only open during working hours on weekdays and are closed by 7.30pm. The building is atill quite new and the inside of the building is nicer than the outside. Quite pricey. Right beside the Chinatown mrt, exit F.

Just some shops and simple food places. It is the old school Yong Tau Foo which enticed me into entering this building. The taste reminds of one of those times when you were schooling, just simple and pure taste. It is shifting out soon though, so I doubt I will ever enter this building anymore after the stall has shifted

Every Sunday there’s a flea market with seller/traders of historic coins, currency, film and commercial memorabilia (Coca Cola items, movie toys, etc.), vintage household items, etc. Other days, just a normal mall with some exceptional food venues in basement level.

I chance across this KEI Singature Japanese Restaurant while scouting for a seat to have a decent dinner. I gave 5 stars for its excellent service. The welcoming service did not prompt me to think otherwise. He recommended 2 signatures meals. The photos posted were the recommended one on my table. On the delicacy. I gave a 5 stars, the salmon, the egg, the side dish and the miso are excellent. On the ambient. I alluded myself on the corner table and it is comfortable too. I think I had a good meal today. Worth trying indeed.

However, they still keep the ancestor’s living style with history write up illustrating the backgroud of the place and also status reflecting the older time of how our Chinese ancestors first arrived in this place.

very quiet over the weekend. This mall is more lively during weekdays especially during lunch hours since it’s surrounded by offices. Weekends are good for a quiet family meal or gathering with friends!! Currently the mall is undergoing partial renovations which can be annoying since they closed off parts of the building as well as the carpark. For toys collector, do come on Sundays where they have weekly Toys flea market!

But there is a new concept for food at basement one. There is a corner that provides place to order your food with participating vendors, wait for your number and collect the food at counter when the food has been delivered. Pretty interesting, I should say.

Lots of vintage stuff antiques knick knacks toys whimsical stuff that will bring a smile on your face. Most stalls began setting up around 10 am and packs up around 4 pm. There’s great food too from coffee to noodles to freshly made pizzas. I will post more pics in the future but usually ended up busy shopping.

China square central used to be number 1 with their amazing shops and flea market for toys, action figures and collectibles. Now the building is almost empty and I’m sad. Almost all the shops are moving some place else because of China square central’s renovation plans. The flea market is planning to show up near by in Hong Lim centre on Sundays. There is a good chance some of the shops might move to Hong Lim centre as well. Hong Lim centre is not far from the Chinatown station. It’s actually right outside the station. Let’s hope everything is back to normal and China square central is in one piece. The toy haven!
