Simply love the variety of options for drinking at the hawker centre itself, taking away and even their packaged products. Prices are higher than heartland kopitiam but quality is definitely better! Can’t be drinking St*rb*cld and Cafe coffees all the time cos of the higher prices there but Coffee Break’s price points are very reasonable. No brand is perfect, be kind when writing reviews people.

For someone that totally dislikes sea salt caramel ice cream and yet took the leap of faith to try their popular drink “sea salt caramel latte”, you’ve got to say that this shop drinks really attracted me. Not only have I drank once, but umpteen times. I’m surprised by its consistency in quality and how smooth the drink is.

Usually I would be buying latte at a hawker stall. Seeing a constant queue, the coffee must be good.

Went on to order their sea salt caramel latte. First taste, ok.. kinda sweet but nothing uniquely special.

However, the coffee together with the caramel linger on in my mouth and when I took the 2nd sip, wow! It sort of boosted the flavour and it was amazing.

There are so many types of drinks!
    And kaya toast is delicious

    Kaya toast is everywhere
Strong butter! ! is an image
The ratio of this store is just right
    The toast is well cooked
    It’s a thin type so it’s crispy and has a texture ◎

For now I would say it’s okay coffee. A little pricy but I suppose rent is higher since they are a new generation hawker. Apparently the old timers have rental rates from 20 years ago. Any way, the people are super friendly so hard to find fault. Always try to go back to support.

I think the depth of the coffee needs work though. Maybe a longer brew or deeper roast, not entirely sure but seems more like a skill issue. Considering they’re all quite young, will continue to support and see how they develop!

In this cold first world country, sometimes all it takes is a pleasant experience to make things better. Take away pricing and coffee beans choices, the 3 siblings have done a wonderful job since taking over ops. Always my go to place if I’m in the area. Make a decision after you’ve had your first black coffee there, then decide if you’re team traditional or team fancy with their wide array of flavour choices. Keep it up Faye, Anna & Jack!

Modern coffee stall run by next generation! They re known for their latte and coffee, but we decided to try their toast instead. Probably will be back for their beverages next time. Tried their signature black sesame toast. Indeed it’s pretty unique. My first time having black sesame toast. Their butter sugar tasted pretty good too. Think it’s a good choice to slice one piece of bread into 2! The texture is good.

Well-made local coffees: not too weak or strong. At $1.60 pushing the envelope of what coffees should cost at a hawker centre. I guess they need to pay for their fancy iPad/driven POS system! :p

1st cup of normal coffee I bought at 10:30am tasted fantastic and so eager to come back again. Yesterday tried 2nd cup at 1:45pm, very sad because it tasted like ordinary coffee you can buy from other shops and is waterly not thick. Will try again 3rd cup for confirmation.

Drinks are a hit-and-miss depending on what you order. Fave so far has got to be their best seller sea-salt caramel ice latte ($4.50).

You can ask for no sugar in your drink but remember to do so as you won’t be prompted about your preference; default is with sugar. Personally I find that it’s sweet enough without any additional sugar.

Personally I think the food is underwhelming haha. The toast taste like gardenia whole meal breads, over toasted and flat with the flavoured cream. We ordered the earl grey and matcha one. Earl grey toast is more fragrant but the cream taste like those cheap bakery cream. Just stay away from matcha, it just bland.

Given the price point, I think Ya Kun serve better quality food as always. Can try but don’t have too high hope. Friend commented coffee a little diluted.

My friend told me the waffle is nice, maybe will try another time.

Love their variety of flavors available but both times I had my drinks from them, I had terrible diarrhea immediately after (might be just my stomach)! My second visit to the Amoy branch would be my last, my drink was ready first while I had to wait for my earl grey waffles to be prepared (no issues with the wait at all). Saw my drink placed on the counter first & when my waffles were called ready, I came up to the counter wanting to collect both my waffles and drink and Jack (male boss) came off rude by asking me in a loud and irritated manner “wait what drink did you order?!” (He was probably afraid that I took someone else’s drink) I was extremely put off by his tone and manner and for this reason I will not patronize them again. The whole meal (?) bread used for their toast was super dry in texture and I would suggest for them to use the usual white bread instead. Taro filling did not taste like taro at all, the saving grace was the slab of butter in between which should not be the hero of the toast. Waffles were disappointing as well priced at S$4.50, yes the waffle batter might be made in-house but it tasted so much like the frozen eggos you could find in the supermarket (I would pick eggos over their waffles any day).

saw the long lunchtime queue, the menu looked extensive and interesting so decided to give it a try. got a iced hazelnut latte ($4.50) it tasted exactly like regular iced coffee that you would get from any local coffee shop. could not taste the hazelnut, or the espresso. Worth about $2, instead of the $4.50 I paid

They have very good tea here. Ordered the Ginger Honey Rose Red Tea ($3.20) and it was very good. What I like about this place is that they allow you to pay digitally with Paylah or Fave Pay. Do take note that the queue starts at the side of the stall, where there is a person holding on to a tablet taking orders. You only go to the front of the stall to collect your order.

It’s fine, but the common problem with inexperienced young people operating f&b is the inconsistent standard of food/drinks quality and yet overpricing. Explore further in the hawker and you will find unremarkable uncle store selling great coffee with consistent standard at 80 cents only.

I do not know what’s their signature drink so I ordered what I thought would be a fail-safe ice yuan yang and it was probably the worst I have had, taste was diluted and not sweet(wasn’t ask for any sweetness level) at all. It is a hawker stall that charges food court price and yet with a long queue, wonder why?

(Order on 13 October) Ordered toffee nut kopi (hot) & sea salt caramel kopi (iced). Requested less ice but when I saw the lady scooping the ice, she filled the ice to the brim. And I asked her if it’s less ice as I requested, she said ya it’s less ice. Hmmm… I’m sure the coffee will be diluted if there is so much ice filled. If additional money needs to top up for lesser ice, I would gladly accept too. Anyway this is not the first time I am purchasing from this stall but today’s drinks are disappointing. For the hot toffee nut kopi, no taste of toffee nut and kopi taste is diluted – not strong enough. Previous time was better. And the sea salt caramel kopi, I bought it for my partner. He commented that it’s diluted and not much taste as compared to previous time. Not sure what happened but the standard today was disappointing and bad. Might not go there to order again, unfortunately.

Coffee Stall in middle of CBD area and provide unique coffee…

I went there in morning and choose Nutella Toas with Sea salt caramel coffee, cost me 7.50sgd. Quite expensive for hawker price, but it is premium choice.

They also have normal “Kopi” cost 1.60 sgd, quite cheap rather premium side. but overall “kopi” at hawker usually cost 1-1.20 sgd.

Payment wise can accept Nets, Fave, Grabpay and quite high tech for normal hawker.

I recommned to go to this place and try their toast and coffee. I will come back again to try normal Kopi rather choose premium one.

Wide variety of coffee and toast options to satisfy your toast craving.

As a coffee connoisseur, the flavoured coffee was too sweet for my liking. Ordered taro coffee, but barely taste the taro and the coffee taste is very subtle. Perhaps a regular cup of coffee works better.

The toast is yummy at the first bite. However, the flavour is too overpowering for my liking.

Overall, a novel place to visit due to its unique flavour. But definitely not a breakfast place that I will visit on a regular basis.

    Traditional coffee is carefully brewed
Coffee and toast is packed easily to take away
Many choices of drinks and toast
Friendly advice to choose drink and food

Flavored coffee is simply syrup taste
Toast and flavored coffee is pricy side as hawker

    revisit
Toast 3 SGD, traditional coffee 1.1 SGD
Kaya toast goes well with traditional Kopi.
I’m also happy that it’s easy to carry around.
The toast was nice and crispy with plenty of kaya jam.
    It’s a little expensive, though.

    ——-
Masala tea (ice) is 3.6 SGD

The size is also small, and it’s a little big
The masala tea itself is delicious though.

There seems to be other flavors and cheap traditional coffee

I’d always believe in the old school traditional coffees and thought that this was just a “hipster” kopi place but I’ve been completely sold (& addicted) to their coffee (esp their sea salt mint latte) since I tried it. Their traditional kopi/teh are really good too and worthy too!
Ultimately, it’s the passion of the business owners that really inspires me and takes all my support I have for them.

Use more graded arabical coffee beans . Not as wholesome as traditional local coffee . Price at 30% more than average hawker store . Beans are probably roasted to 2 instead of traditional dark roast of 4-5 . It’s has a hint of acidic favour . The thing I could not get it is the fact that they advertise as traditional coffee store yet go for the cafe style coffee and concepts. Other than the ordering namesake, nothing shout out traditional coffee.

Delicious coffee, I only drink black coffee without sugar so I am able to review the original flavour of the brew. Good decent coffee at affordable prices. Run by a bunch of young Hawkers who are helping to keep this traditional trade alive and revitalised. Please support them. Many other interesting flavours on offer too. Highly recommended

The sea salt caramel latte is awesome! Very flavourful and creamy and not too sweet! Had the kopi peng also, also not too sweet. Seems like siu dai is the norm here. Not complaining! Sugar is bad for the body..

    Will definitely visit again! ️

At 2nd level of Amoy Food Centre. TIME FOR ONE … COFFEE BREAK. Hats off to the young entrepreneurs taking their heritage further. They serve their own blend of coffee. Prices for the traditional kopi n teh (coffee n tea) are higher than your heartland coffee shops but cheaper than Toast Box, Yakun, Killiney type coffee shops. Prices were ok with me and I wasn’t disappointed with my teh C. I was told their popular drink is their Sea Salt Caramel Latte $4. Will be back to try that. Do note the Amoy food centre will be closed for “repair and redecoration” 11Oct21 to 10Jan22. #thingsilike #placesilike #coffeebreak

#supportyounglocalhawker I’m a coffee-addict and Coffee break does satisfied my craving for good local coffee.

I love how their beans are well roasted and robust in flavour. Have been drinking their coffee whenever I visit the CBD.

I’m aware that they are selling their coffee powder of a shopping platform. If you wanna grab their coffee powder do check it out there, if not you’re can head down to either Amoy or Hong Lim to grab this awesome coffee

Chai Latte was refreshing and smell is fragrant. Hoji latte was more on the milky side, good if you dont want it too sweet

I highly recommend trying the earl grey creme toast. It is not that heavy on the palette too. Something unique that most coffee stall dont offer!

Finally visited this stall after seeing my friends posting drinks from Coffee break.
Great Teh O kosong (the usual drink I would order wherever I go) and great to see the generation taking over such heritage business.
Will try other items from the menu in the near future.

Toast is excellent, not to mention coffee. You can choose from a variety of pastes such as kaya, black sesame, and peanuts, which are half as thin as 8 slices (16 slices?). Butter tastes real. One set of 4 slices will fill you up.

I like the fact that they try their best to serve the drinks quickly. Sometimes their voices might be abit loud but that’s just to get the attention of most of theirs customers who are on their phones while waiting for their drinks. A bit of patience with these young hawkers could go a long way. They need to endure hours on end of standing on their feet and it is no mean feat to maintain a cheery disposition throughout their shifts. BE KIND TO HAWKERS.

Coffee break sells both local coffee and western coffee – and kudos to them for doing both so well!

Prices are very reasonable yet flavour is full bodied, local coffees are value for money. Yet to try their western coffee but will do so next time.

Their toast are extremely thin and I do like some crunch to my toast.

Son bought the vanilla latte – that was rather disappointing and not worth the money, would pass on that if I were you

My favourite Singapore coffee & tea joint. Managed by young, capable and talented people. I am a tea drinker and my favourite is Hot Teh C ($1.80). Ice version tend to dilute the tea as I take my time to savour my drink. My partner loves the Hot Kopi C Kosong ($1.60). I tried Teh with Taro Milk ($3.20) last week and I like it as well. The owners are friendly and sincere (slightly more courteous than the staff). My only wish is that they can be a little more eco-friendly e.g. do not provide the plastic holder as default packaging.

The price is like more than half of the upscale cafe, but the coffe is on par with those $6++ coffee. I guess we’re really just pay for the coffee over here, not coffee AND nice place to hangout.

I tried both the iced sea salt caramel latte & iced caramel rum latte, but the coffee taste stronger while the flavour of the coffee is very light. ( latte may taste bitter.)

On the other hand, the toast bread was great. The earl grey toast especially, taste the best

Great variety of flavours for both their lattes and mochas. I’ve been visiting them for a couple of years now and they have never disappointed! I’ve also had their teh bing once and it was equally fragrant. One of my favourite coffee stores that I’ll frequent when I’m around Tanjong Pagar. Highly recommend, support your locals!

誤打誤撞 tried their black sesame latte thinking it’s the kind without coffee, (because I don’t/can’t take coffee) but it was surprisingly good, I like! Their coffee 很香 and I enjoyed it very much, probably the only coffee I’ll drink if I happen to be in Amoy. The queue moves very fast too.

Have you tired being gaslight whilst ordering your drink? Try coffee break – Staff had obviously gotten the order wrong but insisted that it was correct (even lied that they re-confirmed the wrong order with customer) and refused to remake the drink initially. Would have typically let it slide but the bad service left a bitter after taste. Would have given 1 star but gave 3 as they eventually remade the drink. It’s a disappointment cause we were all previously supporters of the store.

Updated nov 2019 – prices seem to decrease slightly with the option of 10% cashback with favepay. Tried black sesame tea latte this time round less sweet. Still rather sweet though but quite good.

More hipster place in a traditional setting. Very good green tea latte however the price is close to Starbucks but minus the ambience, so paying $5 for it in a hawker centre is quite a shocker. Probably won’t try it often

The packaging, toast, and kopi all feel and taste modern, which is not a bad thing but not what I’m going for at a hawker in the first place. It has a much longer queue than at most other kopitiams though, all are for to-go.
