    Great service and cosy ambience. Chocolate lava cake was definitely the highlight of the meal! Grilled octopus was delicious with lovely charred flavour. We have a friend who swears by their tiramisu, if you like the kind with a thick mascarpone layer on top this is for you.
    Also liked that the strawberry sorbet was made with fresh strawberries. Would come back without a doubt!

    A cute cosy restaurant – the furniture nicely spaced out, not too cramped, and decorated tastefully.

    We had the cold cut platter, mushroom ravioli, grilled seabass, and angus beef steak. Everything was prepared perfectly, although the steak was a little too dry and the meat not as tasteful as hoped. THE MUSHROOM RAVIOLI IS A MUST TRY. Wine selection is fab, and the happy hour Merlot is delightful.

    Would definitely come here again for brunch where they have a meal package for $48+/pax!

    Thr Maitre D’Hotel is the life of this restaurant. Excellent service and personality. You can hear his voice everywhere in the venue and makes you feel like in an italian community restaurant which stamps the authenticity of the ambiance.

    For the food itself, everything we ordered here is exquisite. Oozing with enjoyable flavor which makes you curious of your next bite. Will definitely be back!

    Nice food. Had the Angus beef and Mixed grill. Good enough for 2 adults and 1 teen. Small cosy establishment. Owner is around to see that the customers are taken care of. The chocolate lava cake with ice cream is a must have for me. The chocolate is not too over powering and is a good balance.

    Starters steal the show here. Both the burratta and parma ham with melon are super yummy and served quickly. Practically every table had the burratta and one immediately understands why. Firm, creamy, and tears away in nice cloud like whisps. It is v pricey but no without reason. The pizza we had was a bit meh. But the pasta was “da bomb” to quote my 10 year old. The mezzanine seating area is a tad chillier and less decorated so if you prefer what they consider to be italian decor, sit downstairs. Service from the wait staff was polite and professional. The manager seemed tad busy and perhaps hence not too genuine.

    Decided to try this restaurant as I am told that they served authentic #ItalianCuisine. The #SeafoodMarinara is good and the crust of their #PizzaMammaMia is thin yet chewy! #SetLunch available here; main course plus a starter.
    PS: Try not to drive here though as parking is really limited. Took me about 30min to find a parking lot.

    I have been visiting Caruso for a while now. Had their lunches, dinners and even took out on several occasions. However, I can see Caruso’s evident reduction in service and quality of late. My best guess is that it is cutting its costs, here’s why:

    1. Food: the portions are getting smaller. They’ve removed some meat appetizers from the set lunch menu. They’re also asking customers to top up for other mains – which never happened before. On top of that, the salmon is always “unavailable”, which leaves the less costly dishes to remain in the set lunch menu. Taste wise, the food quality has dipped a little. I was slightly disappointed and disgusted by the chunk of slimy mushroom gravy in my burrata orecchiette (refer to the photo below).

    2. Service: the restaurant is clearly understaffed, I had to wait over 10 mins for the waitress to serve the bread and she’d take every opportunity to ignore my requests. The wait time for food was also awfully long (>20 mins), which suggests the kitchen may also be understaffed.

    I love Caruso and had many fond memories there. It deeply saddens me to see such changes. I hope they’ll improve but I remain pessimistic about it.

    Complimentary brushetta/ garlic bread. Love the pasta here! Cooked perfectly (al dente). Only thing is the wait time is here because they wait for all dishes to be ready before serving.

    I was very well satisfied with my cosy Italian lunch here at Caruso. Service is efficient and the menu covers a wide selection. Their pastas are really what’s notable here, and their grilled meats platter fills you up. Would come back.

    A cozy restaurant but the foods weren’t great. The pappardelle was mediocre and the vongole pasta was very salty. Totally not worth the high price.

    The service was great though. The service staffs were friendly and professional. We feedback about the salty pasta and gotten a complementary dessert as an apology. They served complementary tap water.

    The food was extremely mediocre for its price. Am generally not a picky eater but this place was a disappointment. The wagyu bolognese tagliatelle was tasteless and dry, while the lamb Ragu pappardelle was uncooked and sour. Disappointing dinner and experience.

    The spaghetti alla marina was good and the mushroom soup was really tasty, albeit rather pricey.

    The ambience on the first floor appeared cosier than the second floor which seemed a bit “cold” and had a rather low ceiling.

    The downside to my dining experience was the long waiting time, which the owner attributed to a broken down deep fryer that slowed down all the kitchen processes. It would have been better if the service staff had informed customers beforehand rather than making them wait hungrily. Our mushroom soup took 20 minutes to arrive and our mains, nearly an hour.

    I was cycling past with my wife when we screeched to a stop, amazed, that in the culinary wilderness of Bukit Timah there was possibly a decent restaurant. Walking through the doors you are transported straight to Italy. Ambience is spot on and the food is outstanding. I had the Mushroom Ravioli which was was up there with some of the finest pasta dishes I have had in Italy. We are bringing our kids back tonight before we go into partial lockdown tomorrow! I thoroughly recommend this restaurant!

    Great Italian food, had the recommended burrata pizza and pasta cooked with 8 hours slow cooked lamb. Saw a few review stating that this is perhaps one of the best Italian restaurant locally, it’s definitely not overstated.

    Booked via eatigo (informed to staff at the door) which was supposed to avail a 10% discount but was disappointed as wasn’t avail the discount even though the eatigo app marked my booking as attended.

    It’s easily one of the Top 3 Italian restaurants in Singapore. No matter what you order it really makes you feel in Italy. It’s not cheap but the quality comes at a price and there are much worse restaurants charging you more.

    The pizza (Mama Mia) and the pasta (Lasagne) was very nice. I tasted my wife and kid’s. Excellent. BUT please do not order the steak. It was definitely the worst i have had for a long while. I asked for medium rare but the steak came over cooked, dry, even burned on one side. There was no sauce (maybe that is Italian sauce, i do not know) so i could really taste just the meat and charred meat is bitter.

    Parked at Guthrie House as the roadside parking in front is always full. Just a short walk so no issues.

    I’ve been here many times and the food is consistently good. Service is generally good. Prefer to be seated upstairs as it’s more cosy.

    The calamari was soft but its a bit too oily.
    Bruschetta, Mammamia pizza and lamb pasta were great but I enjoyed their tiramisu the most.

    At the start the waitress sat us down but did not give us the QR code or physical menu so we ended up helping ourselves by scanning the QR code from the next table.

    I wish the tables are bigger or maybe serve their appetisers using a small plate would have made the dining experience better.

    Enjoyed the fresh home made pasta thoroughly – Pappardelle con Ragu di Agnello. It is been a search for really good pasta and this place has it! The texture of fresh pasta is heavenly. The lamb was braised beautifully too. We had Gnocchi too and that too was so satisfying. Will definitely come back for good pasta!

    I can’t fault this Italian restaurant.

    At the junction of Sixth Avenue and Bukit Timah Road, nested on the left hand side next to a pet shop, is this eatery with a well designed interior.
    The entrance leads to a checkered cloth family/casual dining area for families with young kids and those who prefer to dine casually. The open stairs up to the loft leads to a sleek modern dining area with wine glasses and bottles as display.

    Menu is rather standard with the usual items. There’s also chef’s special and set menus which are well priced.
    I have tried their pizza and found them really good with thin crust and cooked just perfect.
    The stand out dish was the seafood soup. Not only were the prawns, squid, clams, mussels and fish very fresh, they were cooked perfectly al dente unlike most other places where they are boiled to death. The broth was light, slightly spicy and delicate.

    I loved the separate dining areas as business or dates can still enjoy discreet chats and discussions. Service was very efficient and well paced. The staff were friendly and attentive.

    This is a true hole in the wall place to get away and have a decent Italian meal.

    Invited a few friends for a wine pairing dinner at Caruso 2 weeks ago. What an amazing night! The Boston lobster linguine was absolutely delicious, the pasta was just right, soaking up the lobster flavour, most enjoyable.
    My favourite seafood pasta in white wine sauce did not disappoint. The clans, squids, prawns, and fish slices were so fresh and flavorful, and a touch of chilli padi made it a perfect linguine pasta for the evening.
    If you are hungry for exciting seafood pasta from Puglia, Caruso is the place in Singapore!

    Service is good but food is quite bad. The staff are really friendly and accommodating.

    Steak was not tasty, just chewy and slimy. The mushrooms didn’t do much to improve the flavour whatsoever.

    Pizza was just ok. Toppings is your usual fare and the pizza dough is flavourless.

    The caprese with Parma harm was questionable. The ham was good (I guess because it’s not made in house), but the cheese was really gross. It was watery and sour. It didn’t taste off, but just low quality cheese.

    The worst one was the gnocchi. On the menu it sounded great, with blue cheese sauce and walnuts. The sauce itself was not bad. But oh my god… the gnocchi pasta was awful. It tasted like play dough. No salt added whatsoever so it just tasted like chewy plain dough. I don’t even think they salted their pasta water because it was so bland. I also think it was undercooked because the texture was so mushy and unlike properly cooked gnocchi.

    Food was also pricier than other Italian places in the area.

    Giving 2 stars for the staff, otherwise the food itself is 1/5 stars.

    Had a couple of pasta’s and pizza for lunch. Wagu bolognese, Sauage orecchiette pastas, and a salami artichoke + pizza (forget the name). Pasta’s were cooked nicely al dente and both sauces were good, but I think the chef could of seasoned it more aggressively, a touch bland. If you like thin crust the artisan pizza was probably one of the best I’ve had in Singapore! The ambiance was cozy and inviting – 2 levels didn’t see the upstairs. A good find even better if you go with discount.

    Do i dare say this is the best italian restaurant in sg?

    Caruso is a neighbourhood restaurant – cute, cozy vibes. The food here was amazing.

    (Not pictured) Burrata was very fresh and creamy, the calamari was okay but felt a bit too fried.

    The pasta though were the main event – cooked just enough so it was the perfect al dente. The truffle ravioli wasn’t heavily creamy / cheesy but was very well balanced and the orecchiette was also very well cooked.

    Kitchen was a little slow on the weekday night we visited but apparently, they had equipment failure that day.

    Place was packed for a weekday night so I think that’s a testament as to how good their good is.

    Came by without a reservation for a light dinner as was in the neighborhood. We shared a burrata for starters and lamb ragu pappardelle and Puglia style seafood soup for mains. Obviously not an extensive sampling of their menu but based on what we had. Burrata wasn’t quite creamy enough and had a thick skin, and plating wasn’t great (aragula, cherry tomatoes and the cheese in the bowl). The lamb ragu was quite decent with just a slight gaminess. The seafood soup was average overall – broth was flavorful, the prawns were overcooked and the clams were tiny, the rest okay. For the price point, I had higher hopes.

    Easily the best Italian meal I have ever had outside of Italy. The most beautiful imported cheeses and meats from Puglia, handmade pasta cooked to perfection with flavours to die for. The service is wonderful and Italian beer and wine a perfect accompaniment. Will visit Caruso on every trip to Singapore.

    My god, this place is pretty much one of the best Italian food places in Singapore. But before this review invariably reduces itself to incoherent rambling, let me state the facts.
    We got 1) La Burrata, aka buffalo mozzarella, as well as 2) a Parma ham pizza, 3) porcini mushroom risotto and 4) seafood spaghetti.
    Now, on with the rambling!

    The la burrata – appetiser – was a generous dollop of buffalo mozzarella framed with tomatoes and rocket. We got a half portion – yes, most unusual – and shared it among ourselves. Imagine, if you will, a round little ball of creamy goodness. Consume it with decadent olive oil, or with pungent rocket, or with tangy tomatoes, and it simultaneously satisfies you and whets your appetite for the main course. All in all, well done there.

    On with the main courses. The pizza was a particular example with rocket lettuce, burrata in place of conventional mozzarella made from the usual cow’s milk, and generous helpings of Parma ham. Cooked in a wood oven that was visible even from inside the restaurant’s seating area, it arrived to us rather fast. After the initial scared poking at the piping hot pizza, we managed to cut it up and actually share it among ourselves.
    Overall, it was pretty good. Although the toppings had an unfortunate tendency to dislodge themselves from their place of origin more easily than Amos Yee obtaining asylum in the US, it was a simple matter of slapping the toppings back on top for delicious bites. The Parma ham itself was amazing, being salty strips of cured porky goodness.

    The seafood spaghetti was damn good as well, being more fishy – well, seafood in general, but you get the idea – than the government raising the retirement age to 70. Not my business, though, but honestly the spaghetti itself was excellent. It wasn’t something tasting like it had been scraped off of the floor after La Tomatina in Spain, ie swamped and defiled with ketchup like how other lesser places make their seafood spaghetti, but this place lets the seafood in the dish speak for itself. It’s full of mussels, clams, chunks of fish and prawns that infuse the literally perfect al dente pasta with the flavours of the sea. Very good.

    The porcini risotto was perfectly creamy and carried the flavour of the mushrooms very well indeed. It’s generally tasty and helped to balance out the dish. Being absolutely chock full of porcini mushrooms, it went really well with the more flavourful dishes like the spaghetti and pizza. Generally a great dish to get for sharing, if only to balance out stronger items.

    Then we had dessert. The tiramisu. I swear to god, their tiramisu is to die for. It’s simultaneously light and decadent at the same time. I know that’s an oxymoron, but it’s true. Get past the cream on top and it’s sponge cake soaked in coffee and liqueur. Honestly amazing to have after a heavy lunch, especially since it’s barely filling at all. Admittedly, I shared this with two other people so that might sway my opinion somewhat, but it’s still a pretty weightless yet delicious end to a meal.

    Overall? Basically the best damn place in Singapore to have Italian cuisine. The interior is packed with the kind of rustic decor that makes it clear that this place is great. If you want Italian food at less than $200? Go here.

    Firstly, my friend and I met on a weekday night, but yet they were really busy and we had to wait quite a while for our food. We had the Ragu and Linguine Vongole – the Ragu was alright but not the best or worth the price. The linguine vongole was really bad – so many of the clam shells were broken, and it was such a terrible eating experience for my friend and I. We had to constantly spit out the shell shards. Their tiramisu was a saving grace though. But other than that, totally will not come back to this place, and this place really isn’t worth the price if you’re coming here for their pastas.

    As for their service, since they were really busy, it wasn’t great, just alright – we had to just water from them ourselves since we were seated nearby the bar. They almost never refilled our water on their own, and although we had wine, we kept chatting so we were thirsty and needed the water too.

    My girlfriend and I had a wonderful dinner experience here since their service and food quality was equally great. We tried several dishes and i must say they were all excellent but must admit its quite pricey. We had the caprese for starter followed by ravioli, roasted lamb, and lasagna for mains and also a glass of red wine for the drinks. We finished our meal with their dessert called tortino al cioccolato. Surely we will visit again .

    Second time at Caruso and personally, they serve the best Italian food in Singapore so far. The octopus salad was really authentic, the closest to what I had back in Italy. Spaghetti alle vongole was simply divine, clams were really fresh. I had te seafood marinara the other day and it was to die for. Great service too. Will definitely be back.

    Disappointing takeaway.
    The truffle mushroom pizza was the most awful. Pathetic pieces of mushroom which did not go at all with red tomato base.. and truffle, no where to be found.
    Both crust was extremely hard and dry.

    Lovely Italian decorated place with really authentic pizza!! We tried the Mamma Mia which has strong red onion taste with mushroom, ham & salami, great combo! Burrata was slightly on the down side as it’s not the bursting out kind.

    Legitimately the best Italian restaurant in the Bukit Timah stretch. The food is always amazing! Showstoppers were the Grilled Octopus and Pappardelle with 8-hour Braised Lamb! Excellent textures and well-balanced flavours. Kudos to the chefs, as you can tell they cook everything with passion.

    Although it’s good to see an F&B establishment bustling and thriving during these times of uncertainty, the restaurant was visibly understaffed. Our server, Jeia, managed the entire upper floor, yet still delivered stellar service to each and every table. Despite being busy, she was upbeat and had the disposition only a seasoned professional would have. I would like to thank her for making our night special and acknowledge her efforts of going above and beyond with her service.

    Reliably consistent in food and service, Caruso earned a special place in my heart— and stomach! Will definitely be back for more!

    I LOVE the tiramisu here! It’s the best I’ve had. Slightly pricey but on par with everything else along the bukit timah stretch. The ambience is really really nice, the decor is warm and pretty and welcoming. Octopus is cooked well but not outstanding.

    I like it that the place is not too big nor brightly lit. The chef is definitely talented and the portions were just right, but the meal fell short on freshness, and service.

    We ordered the artichoke salad,
    spaghetti marinara(requested for linguini)and 8hr stewed lamb parppadelle, and white wine from the owners state.

    The artichoke was lovely and soft, but the helping was a bit too small. parppadelle was good, lamb slightly strong but acceptable.

    They forgot the linguini, and although the marinara sauce was delish, the seafood didn’t seem fresh enough and the large prawn was undercooked and rubbery in the middle.

    Their recommended a white that was average, fruity and not dry enough for me.

    We were not asked if we wanted any freshly ground black pepper, and had to ask for bread twice because they didn’t serve it and when it came it was tiny- the focaccia was well baked but served cold and dry.

    I’m afraid we might not return to this place.

    Good overall ambience, 5 pax had a good time with great services.
    The spaghetti bolognese and aglio olio with prawns are great, very good ribeye steak. We had lasagna and calamari and salad, ends with an apple tart.

    So so. Pricey. Pretty crowded. Observed the 5 service staff working very hard, almost non stop. We were there about 7.30pm. Waited a while before orders taken and food served. Kitchen was also very busy so we were patient.

    Very friendly, and solid restaurant with a wide variety menu covering all the famous Italian dishes. In particular we the rib eye, while the most expensive main at $40+ was fantastic. It was almost large enough portion for two of us. I enjoyed the eggplant parm but it is a heavy starter.

    Fantastic food and friendly staff.

    We have visited twice on a Sunday for their brunch deal. You get many courses: cold antipasti selection, pasta, meat, fish and desert along with free flow proseco, white and red wine.

    The food is delicious. The pasta potion size is perfect for this type of extended Italian dining and the fish and meat dishes are delicious. The fish is lightly battered, the meat was cooked perfectly and tender. Neither is overpowered with rich sauces, instead these are straightforward dishes, well-cooked with delicious ingredients. We ordered a small salad to eat with the fish and meat, which was refreshing and crisp.

    The drinks were great quality and free-flowing. Perfect! I’d love to return here every time I visit.

    Our party of 3 shared the bruschetta, ribeye steak, grilled octopus, and the lamb pappardelle.

    Antipasto (appetiser): The bruschetta was good.

    Mains: The grilled octopus was phenomenal! Definitely must order it. The ribeye steak was excellently cooked but tasted slightly under-seasoned (though some may prefer it that way, I guess). The lamb pappardelle was well executed but the flavour profile didn’t really stand out to us (made me think of non-spicy zha jiang mian if dry ban mian is used instead of la mian).

    Desserts: We shared 2 desserts, the fried dough sticks with cheese and the molten chocolate cake. The cake is a MUST GET!

    They serve free tap water and a basket of bread to go with olive oil and vinegar, which is great.

    This is the best Italian restaurant I’ve had so far in Singapore because (1)the olive oil is fragrant and fruity, (2)the tomatoes were complex (unlike most of the sad tomatoes in Singapore), and (3)the vinegar was rich and smooth (not sharp, if you know what I mean). I love this attention to detail. It’s easy to make bacon or steak taste good while overlooking humble ingredients. Of course, like the many reviews before me, the burrata, pork valley, and lamb ragu were great. The burrata was cloudy, creamy, smooth, and rich. Your tongue is teased to play with it. They have 50% off on eatigo on weekdays at 1200h. I don’t remember the prices but their menu is on their website. The total for these three items was about $55 after 50% off.

    Nice place for Italian food. Peroni beer on the tap or bottle. The Spaghetti Alla Marinara was not bad and full of clams & mussels. Only one prawn is the pasta. Recommended pizza is the Pizza Puglia. Ham was nice, so was the sauce. Even the crust was crispy & tasty.

    Solid Italian at 6th Avenue. Enjoyed their octopus salad and capricciosa pizza but the Burrata prosciutto pizza had really runny (more than usual), almost sour burrata (like a yoghurt more than cheese). I’d had it at my friend’s place before as delivery and the burrata was lovely so maybe it was just a one off. Would definitely return to try the pastas and mains, everything looked delicious. Downstairs the orange/red walls clash with the red table cloths but upstairs is relaxed and serene.

    This is located at Bukit Timah junction to Sixth Avenue. Although it may appear small, there is an extended dining space upstairs which can be used for reservations. Good selection of antipasto, fried calamari, starters. Meat and pasta dishes are generally great.

    Every dish was superb – and I’m a harsh critic. Calamari was crispy on the outside and so soft in the middle, handmade pork ravioli in sage butter to die for, and the crispy pork belly could have wow-ed a Filipino. Finished off with the hot chocolate gooey cake with homemade vanilla ice-cream. Awesome! Owner extremely friendly and on hand – lovely Barolo – diet starts tomorrow! Go there!!

    Old school italian restaurant with a wide range of pastas and mains. We had the octopus main and lamb ragout pappardelle.

    Octopus was fresh, well cooked and tender, wouldn’t have minded a larger serving of octopus but alright for the price point.

    Lamb ragout pasta was amazing, lamb was not gamey and melts in the mouth, pasta was perfectly al dente. Menu mentioned pecorino but couldn’t really see or taste it in the dish.

    Finished the meal with a walnut almond tart with limoncello cream. Not heavy/rich and good for sharing for two.

    Service was great. Overall a pleasant meal of authentic no-fuss italian cuisine, will definitely be back to try other pastas and mains!

    Really authentic Italian food and I can say it as I am Italian. All the dishes we tried were well done and well presented. The Lamb meat sauce for the pappardelle was amazing, the pumpkin and prawn soup really tasty, the pizza and focaccia daugh well done, the fish soup base was the perfect texture and spiciness. All good apart from the waiting time and the service in general. Apparently it was an exceptional case, but we really waited too long to be served. Not enough waiters. We will try it again as the food is really worth a second chance.

    Rating for pasta is 5 stars as the use a different technique that is al dente but sauce was well infused into the pasta. The rest such as soup, burrata and steak are 4 stars. Calamari is fresh and tender instead of rubbery like many places but they forgot to marinate on my recent visit so was bland without the dip.

    Italian restaurant with prices bit on higher side, dinner for couple would cost over 100sgd. I found the staff were not very hospitable, they were not happy to suggest veg options for me. I liked their desserts, I tried vanilla with brownie and my friend took tiramisu.

    Service depends on the clientele. From the moment we turned up to until we left, we saw that if you are dressed well, then the attention and service that you get is more than day others who are not dressed well enough for the place. A real bummer that the manager looks into your skin tone when providing service.

    Food wise, it was amazing. Good portions and a solid selection of menus that served mouthwatering Italian cuisine.

    Probably one of the best values for Italian in Singapore. Excellent quality without the typical eye watering price. Leonardo is pretty much there every night and is as passionate about food and engaged with the guests as he was when he started.

    Amazing experience at Caruso Italian restaurant! Food was fantastic, flavours were strong and I would say definitely authentic. I would come here again to try the other food items!

    Food is authentic; the owner is personally on the floor ensuring that everything runs smoothly.
    Price wise it is fair.
    I often go to Caruso with Italian friends, overall a consistent good experience.

    Think that the restaurant was cosy and convenient to get to, and service came often to check in on us to make sure any needs or wants was properly catered for despite us being the only diners on the 2nd floor. My partner got the porcini risotto and mine was the spaghetti alla marinara. Both were good – my pasta was cooked al dente and the sauce and seafood went really well together, and the risotto was thick and super mushroomy. The only gripe my partner had was that it was slightly salty but i thought that it was alright. We had the calamari which was very good as well, paired really well with the tomato base.

    Food was OK. Eggplant was tasty. The octopus was soft and tender. The pasta was cooked la Dante and chewy. However the pricing a bit on the high side. Used the Eatigo app so had a good discount during lunch. Quiet during lunch which explained the discount during lunch to encourage more dine in.

    Food was generally good, in particular the orecchiette al pomodoro (basically a tomato-based pasta made creamier with melted cheese. It cost $28). I found the blue cheese gnocchi ($29) a tad too strong tasting for my liking. The grilled seabass ($33) was fantastic, especially the potatoes that came with it. Skip the tiramisu ($13.50), which was all cream and hardly any cake.
