1st time here. Tried the mixed fish pao fan, really not appealing.
Look at that slice fish i had, it’s basically tasteless. Unlike the fried 1 which is better.
So if u ever wanna try it, i suggest go for the fried fish.

I think their specialty is steamed white chicken.

Very delicious local chicken rice and side dishes to the liking. There’s queue during lunch time so be there earlier. Service is good and fast. Pricing is moderate for a in town meal. Make your order on the order slip and pay at the counter. A number car is given and wait for you food to come. Preferred the roasted chicken meat over the white ones, Chae the roasted favours set into the meat well.

I really like this restaurant. It is close to Bugis MRT downtown line exit. The quality of chicken rice is exceptional! I had many chicken rice in Singapore. I knew there are some good chicken rice place nearby. But I think this one is the best. It also has air conditioned. This restaurant is next to a famous fish soup restaurant which is always long queue. But I like this with its taste, price and efficiency of my order. My kids love them too.

Happened to stumbled into this Bugis Street Chuen Chuen Chicken Rice Shop
The chicken was tender without blood on the bones. Taste was acceptable. The rice if slightly fragrant will be better.
The service was great and friendly. Place was cozy
The owner Yang had been operating for more than thirty years. They had a branch in Balestier.
    Have a nice day

I think after shifting fm Bugis, I happened to discover them at Beach Road before Rediscovered them at Tan Quee Lan street.
They used different methods of roasting and steaming their chickens.
Their steam broiled Chicken is tasty and combined with their chickened rice and chilli.
They remained amongst the best in Singapore Chicken rice stories.
    So Carry on Makan…

Never like to choose white chicken (白斩鸡) whenever i go eat chicken rice as there is always a weird smell comes with it. But at Chuen Chuen, the chicken is so fresh that u will not get that kind of smell. Also the temperature of the chicken is just right, not overcooked and tender. On top of that, the service is good, from the old aunty serving the customers to the staffs that bring out the food from kitchen, all are very courteous. Great lunch!

Love this place. After you have bingsu nearby, always nice to stop by CCCR. Love the ambience. It makes you easily comfortable and ease into your dining. Price was fine, and as someone who is not big on local food, I finished my plate with no trouble and wanted more. It’s not amazing, but it’s definitely good food. The menu was designed simplistically as well (Sets etc.) and it was super easy to make a decision.

Famous steamed white chicken rice. serve many Chinese dishes too.

This chicken rice store has a long history. Started off in bugis area, shifted to thomsoylong house (that’s where I came across them) and back to bugis area. One of my top few choices for chicken rice, and considering it is in bugis area, it is quite affordable (S$4.5) with generous portion. Rice is fragrant, chili on point.
Other than that, you can also get cooker Chinese dishes such as curry fish head.

Really good chicken rice. The chicken is more tender than other places (I ordered the quarter chicken) even without any sauce. The crystal chicken feet as well as the chicken macaroni and chicken hor fun are also excellent. The one thing in my mind that also stands out about Chuen Chuen is the customer service. The owners are very friendly and accommodating – I live close by so I always order take-outs and they are used to my weird order like “chicken macaroni without chicken” (on the days I am vegetarian), “hor fun without sauce” or “chicken without sauce”. The owners are really friendly and nice to chat with. Really top place. Location is also excellent – it is just opposite bugis junction and 1 minute walk from Bugis downtown MRT station.

Really like the fish head curry which leaned more towards nonya style (sweet instead of sour). It can most certainly feed up to 5 people adequately with generous servings of veg in it too.

The chye poh (preserved raddish) tofu was very surprising and come embedded with century eggs and other food bits. This makes it unfortunately not vegan, but not that I am one.

The place can get crowded during dinner but doesn’t seem to have a queue unlike next door. Food though is on point and one that I prefer, not queuing helps a tonne.
