Decent place to get a meal and dessert in Tanglin Mall! We had the truffle mushroom risotto and the chicken milanese, both of which were tasty and came in generous portions. So generous that we didn’t have room for dessert, but we’ll be back to try the gelatos next time. $20ish each, no GST or service charge.

Overall, was disappointed with the quality of food and staff service at Brunetti. Waiting time for the food was long and the server who attended to us seems inexperienced, mixing up the drinks orders. In addition, the patron beside us had her pasta delivered wrongly also.

It’s been a few years since we last dined here. The place looks as popular as ever and has a more open look and feel. While they have a few main courses for regular meals, lively conversations over drinks and delectable desserts is definitely the focus. Indoor and outdoor seating are available.

Rich and creamy rice and perfectly pan-seared scallops…can you guess my favourite dish here?

Kudos to YOU if you answered SCALLOP RISOTTO

With the fragrant aroma of the rice complementing the smokiness of the fresh scallops, every harmonious mouthful has inched its way up the list of my picky palate’s preferences.

And did you know the best part of this delight? Only add $3 for luscious and well-marinated grilled chicken, which rounds off the scrumptious dish and adds that punch to the rice when the creaminess gets a tad bit too overpowering..

I love the coffee. It is always perfecto and smooth. And the array of cakes makes it hard to pick. All looks good and yummy. They have ice cream, chocolate, doughnuts, tiramisu, cheesecake, eclairs, variety of macaroons, lunch sets with reasonable price. Never leave this place without having the coffee tho. Heavenly smooth. You won’t regret it. Short 5 mins walking distance from Botanical Garden/Gleneagles hospital/British embassy to chill or afternoon coffeebreak. Nice service too.

Dropped by on a Saturday evening for dinner; place was pretty sparse and wasn’t noisy at all, nice place/ambience to chill/catch up.

Service was alright however staff who took my order wasn’t exactly sure about dishes on the menu when asked.

Food was great, not fantastic but definitely worth coming back again with a wide array of desserts to pick from.

P.S – spaghetti might look a little awful but only because we requested for it to be cut into shorter strands for easier consumption due to braces (was delish nonetheless!)

Made reservation via chope for Saturday late afternoon. This is our first visit. Upon arrival, we waited by the main entrance for a good 5mins and no waiter seems to come or tried to look in our direction. Until I raised my hand to signal to the busy waiter who stood 10metre away (no joke, he was all the way in, I was just by the entrance) he seemed blurred and not even walking towards me. Yes, there was a moment of awkwardness. He just beckoned us in, from where he stands. When I walked to approached him to say I’ve made a reservation, he replied “we don’t take-in reservation over the weekend” hmm.. they should update Chope then. The service wasn’t the typical service you will get to a dining restaurant like this. Perhaps they’re understaffed due I covid-crisis. Friendly staff tho, you just need to be more self-service get your water, find your table, etc. Nonetheless, the food is good.

I will come for snack and ice-cream only, coffee is expensive because the size of cup is small. A regular latte is just about half size of normal mug. Had egg benefit, hollandaise sauce was tastless and the poached egg wasn’t dried enough before they put on the bread, it tasted like it is still covered with water

We were surprised to find a Brunetti in Singapore. This is a popular Italian cafe serving coffee, cakes, sweets and gelato in Melbourne. The decor style was similar to the parent as were the dainty pastries and cakes for special occasions. Our eyes were drawn to the croque en bouche. We had to taste test the coffee at least. Unfortunately it was a pale comparison to the barista-made version back in Melbourne. The cappuccino was weak and lack the fragrance of fresh beans and rosetta.

My wife and I decided to have dinner here after a medical appointment at the nearby Camden buidling. I had actually had an excellent cake and chocolate at their Flinders Lane branch in Melbourne the week before.

This time, we ordered the chicken and musroom risotto and it was delicious. The portion was also quite generous, and there were large chunks of chicken dotted throughout.

We also ordered the BBQ chicken pizza. Again, it was a generous serving, so much so that we had to ask for a take out box. Tastewise, it could have been better – the chicken and the sauce were a tad sweet, while the base tended to be soggy after a couple of minutes.

You place your order and pay at the cashier, and are then given a numbered stand which you place on your table, and the food arrives shortly after.

Had a late breakfast here on the first day of 2021. Indoor seating was full so we had to settle for an outdoor table. We had the Big Breakfast and Eggs Benedict with brioche; well cooked, delicious and very appetising too. The cafe latte and orange juice were great too. Shall be back to try their other full meals.

Food is way below average, my friend’s chicken tasted re-cooked. Note that it takes 45 mins and the food still isn’t served on a half empty restaurant on a public holiday. I wonder how long it takes to make mac and cheese and scrambled eggs?

Updates, food came after 50 mins. We gave the place another try. Gelato and coffee is good. And came much faster

I received a cake from this shop today. They removed the fruits and changed to new fruits as u can see the ‘prints’ off from the icing on the cake, so not sure how long the cake was kept, I believed was not freshly bake. So I dun recommend.

Step into the charming world of IL BAR of Italy. It evokes the ambience of a village cafe yet sophisticated enough to be a brasserie that has been transplanted from the likes of Rome or Milan. I like the vast array of Italian cakes and pastries. The gelato is a must try. For something substantial, go for the salads and mains. There are also freshly squeezed juice mixes to cater for the health conscious. Never leave without sipping its perfectly brewed coffee selection. As for me, I will not leave until I have my latte. Till then, arrivederci!

Love this place. My go to for my Italian fix when I’m missing home (yes, I’m italian.) This place seems to be the only place in singapore that has real Crema al Pistacchio in their croissants. All their baked goods are great. Macarons, great. Ice cream, great. I come here quite regularly.

Simple lunch and we sampled two of their main courses: Grilled striploin and a Pan fried salmon.

For the steak, taste was decent albeit the cooking was a little overdone (I asked for medium but this felt more medium-well).

The salmon was a nice surprise though. Tasted pretty good and wasn’t overcooked, the cream based sauce on the side was smooth and wasn’t overwhelminglu creamy.

Didn’t manage to try the desserts so I won’t comment on that. Overall pretty decent fare and won’t mind coming again.

As we are planning to head our to TWG for a birthday lunch. Wifey suddenly suggested why don’t we try out Brunetti @ Tanglin. The reason for choosing this place are those tempting bakery and confectionery that always flying in her mind for so many years. So why not, and that is the place that we are heading to. We choose a cosy little corner, grab a menu, and we study it and digest it too… Selection are good, not too many and not too little, and we decide what we want to eat just like that unlike in some dinning places, we have to flip the menu from 1st to last page and from last to 1st page. 1st we ordered the Tomato Bruschetta, 2nd, the mushroom and tomato soup, 3rd will be the fish and chips, and last the grilled salmon. Brushetta bread was light and fluffy, with the added tomatoes cuts, top with a small cube of cheese, accompany with some greens slightly drown with balsamic vinegar, is really a stomach opener for us to get ready for more food. Their mushroom soup is the best that we had so far, non creamy, as compare to many western eatery where cream is almost the main ingredient in the soup. Tomato soup so far to us the 2nd best for us. We were quite worry on the fish and chips as many places where the flour batter which is either to thick or the fish meat is too small a portion. Brunetti did a perfect job as we don’t see any thing that contains flour. Fish are soft and juicy, fries are fried at perfection. We are just eating our food happily. As for the Salmon, the 1st best is that Salmon is really done with juicy and tender and its not dry and hard. What I like is the potatoes on plates.. I usually don’t potatoes In wester eatery. But this place, jeez.. not hard, and not soft, but fluffy and non mushy at all. Overall, we really enjoy all our food, and if you are to ask me if I will come again… I will definitely will.

Have always passed by this cafe and thought we’d give it a try. We got the lunch set and mushroom omelette. Let me start with the good – the coffee. It was a decent cup of flat white with smooth, bold coffee taste.

The bad – staff who answered the phone was confused when I asked if they serve decaf coffee. I repeated and said decaffeinated, and it still took him a while to understand what I was asking. Omelette was very salty and had too much garlic and onion powder. Carbonara that was part of the lunch set was made with cream instead of the authentic way, which is without cream (just yolk and cheese). I was really expecting more from this place as it markets itself as an Italian style cafe. Probably won’t come back unless it’s for takeaway coffee.

Anyone from Melbourne’s Inner North knows how crucial a good cafe and coffee is to the soul. While this Brunetti is tiny compared to Carlton’s or even Flinders Lane’s (and doesn’t carry biscotti nor bread nooo), it has enough cake, pastries and gelato for a little reminder of home.

Ignore the fact it’s in a mall (I know I know it hurts me too), and understand the decor invokes rather than replicates home.

The truth is this is possibly the closest to an Inner North cafe you’ll find in Singapore (and the staff are lovely).

And in the end the long blacks are still closer to anything from home than I’ve had at other cafes. Tossing up between 4 and 5 stars, I give 5 for nostalgia and effort.

Italian style cafe and pastry shop located in the basement of Tanglin Mall. Famous for its pastry and gelato, but one can dine there too. I only tried their gelato, a scoop mango and a scoop dark chocolate. Very good indeed.
Service was quite slow although the place was quite empty.
