Good location and not too cold. But students always chope the entire table for their friends who come after 3 hours, leaving no table for others…

Nice cozy & spacious library with diverse books on every level. Nice cafe on level 1 with great coffee & tea! Great place to unwind & relax.

However wish there were more seating areas and study spots with power points

Staff are warm and friendly, helpful with book recommendations.

The basement is filled with children’s books, and has a nice theme. Seating areas for kids are also available.

Bishan public library, within 2 mins walking distance from Bishan MRT and Bishan bus interchange. Location wise- super convenient and accessible.

    Overall experience was positive.
Clean and bright. And the air con was just comfortable, not too cold such that it would be freezing.

The range of books are more than sufficient for most readers. The staffs are also pleasant and helpful.
A good free place to hang out to escape the heat and to find a place to relax. But it may be very crowded during the exams period- full of studious students.

(I was stopped by one security guard to tell me that no taking of photographs… hehe)

Just a stone’s throw away from Bishan MRT station, this 5-level (basement to 4th floor) library is a nice place of solitude from the hustle and bustle of the nearby mall.

Each level does not have a large foot print but laid out well with amble seating area and little nooks framed by its iconic colored glass.

There is also a cafe at the basement if you have a sudden craving for snacks or drinks.

Quiet, spacious and light-filled Library with areas to sit comfortable and read, or study with your laptop and books spread out on the upper floors (3rd and 4th).

Also a nice Café, Kings Cart Coffee, on the ground floor, serving up great coffee, teas and food.

Constructive feedback and improvements – I found myself wishing that there were more power points beside all, or certainly the majority of desks rather than only one or two.

Other visitors rushed to secure the best seat/s as soon as the Library opened, those with power points. Leaving their personal belongings on those specific desks to ‘save’ their spot. Even when they were away for coffee/lunch etc. It would be great to see this addressed and improved to ensure the best experience for all guests and visitors.

This place is very big, and there is also a cafe included. I could find any genre of books I want to find, from history to fiction. It is near Bishan CC, where I have my chess lesson. An excellent choice to stay for learning, completing assignments, reading a broad range of books… Definitely the best place to do your job. Great facilities, bishan library isn’t like any other they even have a SUANA on the 4th, and a freezer on the 3rd. They are also very energy-saving, they make use of modern day science concepts of CONVECTION because they think cold air will rise up to the forth but guess what, it feels like a hottub so great job.

Pretty sure they also have a great amount of budget to spend, looking at the variety of activities they have for kids on the weekend. Almost thought I was in a community centre. And they hire so many librarians that I thought this is a prison. No wonder they are tight on budget, so I don’t blame them for not fixing the aircon, even after 4 months. Great job. Keep it up.

Love this place. Reasonably good collections. Peaceful, as far as libraries go. LAYOUT: Design separates the kids (basement) from the youths/young adults/graphic novels (L4), from main library floors (L2, L3-Mandarin). Somehow doesn’t seem crowded even if there are many people around on each level. CUSTOMERS: I see mostly students, well behaved adults. Not that many book hoggers (grab STACKS of books off of the shelves to browse)/seat hoggers (for hours)/air con “exiles” (come in to take advantage of the air conditioning, newspapers) compared to some other libraries.

A special cup of coffee comes from a special coffee shop in the Bishan library. The coffee here tastes a bit of wheat and fresh beer. It’s very delicious. like it very much …

Great place to study, do projects, read a wide variety of books… definitely a recommended place to do your work. The atmosphere is fantastic — there are seldom people talking (or at times none) — makes it a great place for studying. To add on, the MRT Station is just located a small traffic light across the library, which brings about much convenience.

However, the library is usually busy from 12-5pm, so make sure to grab your seats fast!

A lovely neighborhood library with a very good selection of books – the range of titles you can find here far exceeds most local branches. Very interesting little reading nooks that extend out of the library building that provides a coat little cubbyhole for reading. I’m probably biased because I spent so many of my teenage years here but a lovely little place to read.

Review is mainly for the food by D.I.G. Dining In Garden @ Bishan Library. Tranquil little cafe right inside Level 1 of the library. Food was ok, not too bad but not fantastic either. Only complaint was the fries- part piping hot, part cold. Seems like fries that were cooked at different times were mixed together and served. But the customer service was good. Service staff made a fresh new basket of fries as replacement, and even top it up with a scoop of ice cream, 1 green tea pudding and 1 mango pudding.

Verdict: If you just wanna fill your tummy, go for it. If you expect better food, eating elsewhere would be a better bet.

Nice and quiet place to study/read. It has a great view, and the toilets are clean.
