One of the more affordable and better Mookatas out there. Place is almost always packed from evenings onward, so be sure to come early otherwise you would have to wait for a table.
Always ordered their “original” chicken which I find to be seasoned perfectly and I could finish a bunch without being gelat or overwhelming. Place can get a little hot due to grilling of the food and there is no air conditioning. Would prefer to order dish by dish, ala carte then to order the set meal.
Parking is very weird as you would need to drive into Ang Mo Kio Ave 10 and park at the Teck Ghee Food Market carpark. Drive in deep enough and you will find yourself behind the Mookata stall.
Great place to hangout with your friends and family while waiting to cook and eat your own feed.

Although it is crowded during Friday nights, service was still acceptable. The speed was just a tiny wee bit slower but the food came. Changing of gas canisters and soup was fast.

From evening, the coffee shop became a mookata place. Drink store auntie is very friendly and goes table to table for order (iced lemon tea $2 for a medium sized cup). It is a great mookata dinner place with your friends. When it rains, insect tend to fly on your table. There is no way to avoid it as it is outdoor.

Long queue by 7pm on a Sunday. Nothing very memorial on the dishes as they were mainly packed instant items like sausages, noodles, fish cake etc. the family enjoyed the beef cube.

  24. Avatar photo

Let’s start this out with the fact that I spent $45 to fully feed 5 adults and 1 child. And we didn’t stinge on the meats. Mind-blowing value for money. While the beef is just ok, all the variations of chicken are fantastic. It gets really busy at around 630-7 so it’s best to make a reservation.

First time trying. Family of 4 (2A+2C), ordered 4pax set for $39+, serving size is just nice for us. Nice chilli, soup base was tasty good, food items like chicken, pork slice, crab stick, hot dog, mushroom, vegetables, glass noodle, egg, scallop slice half. Portion of food is enough for 4pax. inside coffee shop but table spacing is ok, windy with fans. Crowed with all their customer. Will be back, very value for money.

Food is well seasoned. Essential it is their coffeeshop at night as every table is almost all eating mookata from them. Expect crowd. But food is worth the crowd. Do not go with the expectation of staying fresh smelling as every table is grilling. Price point is quite okay i would say.

Had a family outing on Saturday night and tried their alacart menu to fill 4 hungry stomachs. The pricing is very affordable and attracts youngsters and first time mookata diners. The choice of proteins and vegetables will satisfy all and the service is pretty fast and most importantly friendly. Overall am very pleased except for the fact that it is a coffee shop which means no air conditioning which means that I was totally drenched in perspiration after my meal which means that I will go to their Golden Mile branch and hopefully there is AC. Finally, be prepared to quench your thirst in the middle of the night because their stock has lots of MSG. Enjoy….

Went at around 6pm and there are only a few tables occupied. More people came thereafter. The menu consists of 2 stalls. Ordered about 10dishes from the mookata stall and cost about $22. The cooked dishes from another stall costs about $11. Service was fast. Serving was not alot. Soup was bland. Pork belly was nice. Meat is quite marinated. I think the standard has dropped though. Not as nice as expected so will not return again.

One of the most affordable mookatas around with very friendly services and huge number of seatings. Located on a slope side HDB, there is often gentle breeze around these parts which makes the experience much more enjoyable. The selection offering are quite standard and pretty fresh. Remember to call for reservation as the many seats have been fully booked in recent times.

This place is located inside a food court. There is a decent variety of meats and veggies here. The food was good and I feel that it was pretty affordable too. My friends and I spent about $11 per person and left feeling really full.

The staff here are all really nice and it seems that everyone working in the food court, even the drinks store aunty, knew how to operate the stove, which I found to be pretty funny lmao.

Would definitely come back here again!!

I’m comparing this to the best mookata (and overly expensive one) I’ve had. Moreover, the price isn’t very expensive.

It is not the cheapest $10/pax kind of mookata that you so often find these days. The marinates are given attention and it shows up in their meats. The money is worth it.

The soup stock is made by boiling corn so an inherent sweetness is readily present.

The clams are fresh! I mean like really fresh. These critters are literally alive when they come to your table. The freshness is very pronounced!

The service is prompt. The pot however has a pretty small soup moat. So you need to be careful putting stuff in.

First time I went was last year December. Ordered 4pax set, added 2 plates of meat and rice. Tastes great and bill was below $50. Went again last month in April, we did not add meat and only added rice, bill $50+. And they moved duck slices in their set too. Quite a bummer seeing the difference within just a few months.

You’ll be surprised by the crowd after 7pm each day as this secluded coffee shop has a hidden gem of a la carte mookata with basic selections, simple soup base but a very tasty and satisfying meal that you’ll come back again and again. The simplicity let’s you concentrate on the food and friends. Throw in the clams with oyster mushroom in the soup for a start and cook prawns last leaving the head in the soup. Have a taste beginning and the end. Your tongue will do the talking.
