Went for a quick bite on a sunday afternoon because of a tech appointment nearby. The place was very packed as usual. Ordered their smashed chicken at nasi padang shop stall. Tasted meh. It was so much better pre-covid19. Price wise was very steep at $7.50 you got a smashed chicken without the flakes, a vegetable side, steam rice, and sambal. It should have came with a bowl of soup but they removed it. So for the price, you actually get less of what they advertised. Not worth of the hype or crowding yourself to get a table at the place.

A decent lechon, the skin was a bit too tough for my liking but quite value for money at $9.5 in Orchard area!

The sauce is sweet, even for me, so may not be for those who prefers savoury sauce! You do see a hunk of roasted pig being displayed, displaying its authentic cooking.

Try if you’re around the area!

Of course, can’t be at Lucky plaza without Jolibee. As good as always!

Since my first visit in 2013, I have never missed an opportunity to have a meal or two here. In the middle of Orchard’s fancy shopping malls and clothing stores, Asian Food Mall is like an oasis. There are many choices for cheap and halal food. Chinese, Malay, Thai, Filipino, and Indonesian food are available. On my last visit on November 2018, I had a Hainan Rice for only 7 SGD with extra egg.

Beware, on Sundays, this place is packed with Indonesian and Filipino workers hanging out.

Snacks, chocolates, cakes, bags and various souvenirs are sold cheaply and are cheaper than buying in Bugis or in China Town..

If u miss Blk 85 Bedok North bak chor mee soup, here’s not a bad choice to try – Famous Eunos Bak Chor Mee. From the info at the stall, it has been serving since 1923. Instead of meat balls, this BCM has meat dumplings. The soup is really commendable, with juicy bak chor making each soup mouthful enjoyable. I suggest to go for the soup type instead of dry. The dry mee-kia was ok but had a little ‘ghee’ taste.

Stall was generous with the minced meat. The soup tasted alright at first, but soon got bitter because of the dumplings and noodles. The skin of the dumplings was particularly bitter (or alkaline?) in taste and the filling was quite mediocre – I could barely finish them. Otherwise the minced meat and noodles were fine.

When I heard that Milo, which was a standard product in Japan in the past, can be drunk at various cafes in Singapore, I happened to see Milo in the food court, so I drank Milo Dinosaur. When you’re tired, the sweetness blows away your tiredness. Dinosaur has Milo sprinkled on top of the drink, so when you order and receive the product, immediately swirl the cup to melt the powder on top!

Close to the Hospital, fast and queues to buy food don’t take long, enough choices.

Really too busy with FDWs and families out on Sunday especially 8,00 am to 4 pm.

Real good choice of food and all in one place, all Singaporean favourites, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Filipino and transcontinental dishes. At least two visits will fill up your appetite and selection. There is also a Jollibee, good for burgers and pasta. If you are Filipino, a huge queue starts 9.00am for Bulalo beef soup dish at S$15 plus rice.

    There is everything here.

Only the vendor for drinks and coffee and tea has outrageous prices, There are two of them but both are heavily priced. Go McDonald’s or food court kopi tiams around the two levels corner corridor. Get your your drinks and walk in. Never fear nobody says cannot!

Asian Food Mall is a food court in Lucky Plaza, Orchard Road where there are food stand that serves variant of Asian food, such as Chinese, Indonesian, Indian, and many more. We came here for late dinner on a Sunday night, and it was quite crowded. I saw one Chinese noodle stall with good smell and crowd named Ban Mian, so that I decided to try this one.

Ban Mian serves variant of Chinese noodle both dried and with soup. We could also choose the meat, such as pork, chicken, beef, seafood. I tried Mee Sua (面线) for SGD 4.50. For this menu, we could choose the topping either beef or pork. I chose pork. This mee sua serves in a clear broth with pork, vegetables, fried onions, and crispy anchovies. Overall, the mee sua tastes good, but I think the salty crispy anchovies do not really suit with this menu.

Decent place for pinoy food. Strictly avoid the nasi Padang stall, or stick with the set option.. Ala carte is charged over the roof

I tried the “ Mee Kia “ added with sliced chili into the soup to enhance and add the soup with a little spicy flavor. Generous on the minced pork too. $4.50 I consider reasonable.

Had the Chinese economy rice and stomach upset ensued in 20 mins. ALSO this was really pricey at SEVEN bucks. Next time I’ll try the Filipino food.

    Hawker food mart goes modern.
The food hall in the basement of Lucky Plaza is excellent.
Many small booths offering all sorts of Asian good things to eat.
Cheap place to rest your legs and eat.

The coffee stall malay server is not so friendly.. we customer understand you are already tired especially when it is around 4pm already.. but who is not tired.. i came to drink coffee and a kaya toast before heading home. She is showing a nerve to a customer for a wrong hearing of order.. atleast she become polite and tell me nicely. I think server should have more patience and always be nice to a customer.
