Very, very overrated. It’s ok fried chicken but I found the chicken lacking in flavour. Fries were good though.

As always, their fried chicken is a star. In fact they’re less oily now. But the buns are lacklustre and stiff hard at the center. The bandung drink Is a bonus!

Finally an outlet in the west! Was there at 2pm on a weekend, so there was less of a crowd and we were server our food within 15 minutes of entering the restaurant. Chicken was just as good, and love how it doesn’t get too tiring to finish 2pcs of chicken. I can only go through 1 chicken at KFC but here, even after 2pcs of the same size, I’m still craving for more.

One of those Singapore speciality everyone got to try. Aromatic fried chicken that’s made different from KFC, Texas or Popeyes. Remember to add-on the coleslaw for complete satisfaction.

Arnold’s Fried Chicken @ The Frontier Community Club
Rather over rated. I rated it ⭐⭐⭐
Tried on 11Feb2018 and find it so so. Chicken is tender.
I do agree with some who commented pricey.
    Service need to polish further.

The fried spring chicken is very nice and tasty. Crispy thin, flavoured skin. Tender flesh. Didn’t like their fries. Coleslaw was very little but still okay.

Updated: I really love their spring chicken and been eating way too frequently. hehe… Tried their 2pcs b4 but still prefer the spring chicken. flesh is more tender. I always throw away the fries. Coleslaw is pretty good.

Considerably big and clean outlet. The food was ready pretty fast despite it being peak period We ordered the 2 piece chicken meal but was unfortunately able to change the coleslaw to the bun. I didn’t mind it as i loved the coleslaw though, but would be nicer if we had the option to change

Meal came with a drink, fries and coleslaw. I think we had the option to change to mash potato thats all

Forget about KFC. This is the real deal if you want your fried chicken. Being a regular traveller, this is one of the best fried chicken around. Even the fries ate much better than McDonald’s. You want your chicken fast? Go to KFC. Here you gotta wait a while and it’s worth waiting for. I’ve been to 3 different branch of AFC, and their quality and taste are consistent and 3 different branch and at all times. Dining area are clean too. The crew are fantastic. Oh by the way, they have been around for more than 25 years IIRC!

Staff here is rather attentive to even help open doors guess from the low activity in the restaurant. Taste wise the skin isn’t as flavourful. Although chicken is well fried and not dry, the freshness of the chicken is slightly above average. Somehow, their takeaway thick carton box helps to steam the chicken and it actually taste better than at the restaurant. However, their meshed potatoes gravy looks and taste bad, losing out to kfc’s. Coleslaw is alright but has a bitter tinge to it. Both sides portion are tiny it’s equivalent to a small tablespoon, like one condiment mouthful only than a side dish that can last with the mains. Chilli pack taste is also no good, gummy in texture and no zing. Environment is peaceful nevertheless.

My favourite fried chicken – seasoned, juicy, tender and piping hot! I like to opt for the 2 pc set and swap coleslaw out for mashed potatoes to dip my chicken in, and an extra side order of their fried buns – simple and delightful. I can’t wait to return again…

Quality and Tasty food. The restaurant ambience is calm and nice. Well preserved food quality and culture. Chicken is not oily. Arnold’s is purely chicken condiments. There is no burger eg. Chicken burger or fish burger etc. Although it is at Frontier CC. There is a public parking place. Recommended…

My friends like this place, but, for me personally, I think their food is overpriced and inconsistent. What draws people back to an F&B establishment is either that the food is affordable or it has quality. Arnold’s food is expensive and underwhelming. Better for you to make you own chicken or buy KFC.

Got the half spring chicken set at 9.25pm opps! The service crew was quite nice as they didnt chase us out initially so that they could close shop at 10pm and hence we stayed till 10.10pm. Thumbs up for that! Chicken was not too oily and I enjoyed every part of it yum yum. But the mashed potato was tiny and the sauce was SO LITTLE. Best Fried Chicken Ever. They use fresh chicken not frozen chicken and sometimes you can see deliveries coming in for the raw materials. Though smaller pieces but the tender and juicy pieces is the best you can get anywhere! We never fail to order 3 spring chicken every time we go. The marinade is very tasty and crisp and the batter is not overly thick. They also offer fish and chips for those who are looking for something other than chicken. Large varieties of potato products too, wedges, fries, onion rings, waffle fries, chips, mashed potato. The creamy crunchy coleslaw is a MUST. As a Malay / Singaporean start up it has Bundung on the drinks menu. A lovely drink that gives remembrance of the past. We will always go back for more deliciousness.

Waiting time of close to 30 mins but the chicken is hot and freshly fried.
…still the 30 mins is a little hefty
Chicken is good , not sure if its $3.40 good since I paid for a 3rd piece with a wing and drumstick.
Couldn’t finish the fries . Think the drink was around $3 too
Works out to pretty much what you pay at other fast food chicken joints just that it feels a little expensive when you pay separately for each item . Will probably return for the chicken if I can stomach the 30 mins wait .

heard that arnold’s serve really good fried chicken and i love fried chicken. we dabao-ed (cos no dine in) and was greeted by many delivery drivers waiting to collect their orders. ordered the 2 people combo meal for $24.80, consisting of 5 chickens, a pack of fries, two fried buns, 1 coleslaw and 2 drinks. the wait was also exceptionally long for a fast food chain (15 mins).

first impression of the chicken is it’s very juicy. the breast parts were definitely drier than other fried chicken chains (i.e: texas and jollibee) but the thigh and drumstick were great. what caused a lost star was because i didn’t really like the batter as much. the chicken batter was definitely more peppery and it reminded me of nasi lemak kinda fried chicken. my husband loved it but i personally prefer the batter of jollibee, texas and popeyes (tho the batter of those 3 are more alike in taste).

i think the combo set is definitely more expensive and i don’t think it warrants the price. single meal sets are more value for money. but notwithstanding that, it’s definitely worth a try for fried chicken lovers!

Did my part to support local startup (I think they are, right?) The concept here looks like another KFC lookalike fried chicken shop. Actually not a fan of fried chicken but it did taste quite good. Waiting time can be slow and they only do cash transaction, like the old timer ya?
The spring chicken set is a bit too much for me, I was quite confident that I could finish it all by myself given it’s a spring chicken but this one is a big one actually! I guess it’s quite value for money then!

It’s hidden at the side which was once sakae sushi I think. The fried chicken and French fries both taste different from the one at geylang which is the original outlet right? But its still good for us westies for a try. Their coleslaw is good and abundant. Service is quick and fast and quite a spacious place to be to chill and hang out and enjoy your chicken there

The springs chicken tastes like something is just a little bit lacking as compared to the main branch.

Not as fragrant. Not as scaldingly hot when served.

Similar, but not quite the same.

Still a decent meal with the guys, though. And beats going all the way to the main branch from the west side, I guess.

Give it a few more months and hopefully it’ll get closer to the food from the main branch eventually.

Edit – So I’ve given it half a year. Been to the outlet a few times since, and the problem here has been identified.

The spring chicken doesn’t sell as quickly as at the main branch, so the staff here have time to pre-fry them.

You end up getting re-fried chicken, which is drier, and not as hot because it takes less time to re-fry compared to frying a raw chicken.

As long as they keep doing this, the main branch will always be better.

    Ambience:
    Bright. Family friendly.

    Service:
Average, but definitely not negative. The friendly manager took my order.

    Food:
Tasty and crispy and the chicken wasn’t that dry.
Their French Fries portion was, in my opinion, not enough for a 2-person meal.
I actually quite liked the coleslaw.

    Price:
On the high side. A 2-person meal costs almost $25.

    Conclusion:
If you’re loaded and if you love your fried chicken, then this place would be a 5-star haunt for you.

For people with smaller wallets like me, I would reconsider patronising for a second time.

Good fried chicken as per usual from arnolds. If you want fresh fried, juicy chicken, go for the spring chicken options. Otherwise, you can get the chicken sets which will still be hot (and still juicy), but maybe just not as fresh from the fryer as a spring chicken(s) order. Half spring chicken shown in photo.

Easy to get to here from Boon Lay Interchange. Portions are decent. The fries were decent, and the coleslaw had a nice tang to it. The chicken was nicely fried, and was not overly salty, if you go for the 2 piece option. I had half a chicken, and I was starting to feel that there was too much salt. The tartar sauce dip for their side platter is pretty amazing.

The number system to let us know when to collect food is good, so we can sit while waiting for the food. Maybe the chicken is freshly fried each time, so the wait was long, tho not so long as they estimated. The spring chicken that we ordered at the Jurong Branch was too oily, tho those at Paya Lebar was well drained of the oil.
If u go with kids, and they want the lime juice, be sure to take note where is the toilet
We have gone to Arnolds several times, mostly at Paya Lebar, and take away.
