Place is good with three different pools – adult, medium and kids pool. Open on all days except on Chinese New Year holiday. Water is clean. Only downside is that you don’t have a diving pool and it is far from MRT reach.

Has wading pool, training pool and competition pool. Cleanliness of the water could be improved as I noticed a lot of specs of ash or dust when diving underwater. But otherwise, it’s not crowded and kids can enjoy playing in the water.

I like the main swimming pool. It is well divided for swimmers. The shower room is well maintained.
However, if the main pool electric clock can be lighted at night that will make easier for me as a continued-swimmer to glance the correct time easily while swimming. That will be great.

One of the more aesthetically pleasing yet functional old school design of the swimming complexes. The complex feature three pools, one competition, one training and a wading pool. The wading and training pool are sheltered on one end so that you can chill even in mid day without worrying about sun burnt. The staff are friendly and there are many elderly residents who are regulars of this pool. This place also offer table tennis table as a side offering. It’s a pity that the cafe has closed down since the 90s , it will be good if there is a cafe there for a munch after swimming.

This pool complex badly needs a facelift. Ceiling plaster is peeling off, and the facade looks dreary. A cause of concern is that the female toilets have an unsafe placement in such a way that it is on top of a higher platform, and your feet would hang lower. It’s an accident waiting to happen, really. I am leaving photos of the ladies shower room so you can see what I’m trying to describe. This is an issue if you have a condition affecting your physical mobility.

Since 26 April 2022, safety distancing measures are no longer enforced. Goodbye and good riddance Trace Together, hahah. There is no need to book your slots in advance, and no more one-hour limit, so you can now have more leeway in your swimming schedule.

If your child is taking swimming lessons on weekends — you can also swim! You should! Why waste time only watching them when you can also exercise and watch after your kids while in the same pool with them haha.

The pro for this is that the pool water is clean and the bathroom is big with lots of cubicles. Weekdays are quiet and not crowded, best for a nice swim.

The con side is that accessibility to this pool is not too convenient as its further away from the mrt station. The bathroom is a bit old.

*Updated on 30 Aug: the toilet feels cleaner and drier than before. Also, they added new lane divider.
One of my favourite pools because it’s fairly quiet, where u can enjoy 1 lane for at least an hour on good days. Few lessons on Monday and Wednesday, of course crowded on Saturday and Sunday. Lifeguards are friendly. Only downside is that it’s fairly old. Still pretty decent.

Built in the early 80s, this place has stood the test of time and has aged rather gracefully. The facilities aren’t as new and bright as the newer pools, but it is adequate. It has a 8-lane competition pool, a wading pool and a baby pool. Snack bar is no longer operational, but there are food outlets just a stone’s throw away. Seems to be popular with swimming classes especially during weekday late afternoons/early evenings, so it can get crowded pretty easily. Parking is usually available just beside the complex.

Opened to public on 24 May 1982, Ang Mo Kio Swimming Complex is a public swimming complex managed by Sport Singapore.

The swimming complex, located in the matured estate, also won the 1986 SIA Architectural Award for its unique “tetrahedral skylight” design. While Ang Mo Kio is first town to be designed in metric dimensions, it was the seventh housing estate town developed by the Housing and Development Board (HDB).

In spite of the proliferation of pools with more clubs and condominiums being built, public pools continue to serve an important social function. Singapore has a total of 25 public pools today. These provide the population not only with a place for physical activity and social interaction; the social use of pools has been extended through the use of unique designs as a means to provide the neighbourhoods they are being built in with a statement of identity.

Pros: Olympic sized competition pool (50m long). Water is generally clean and free of debris like sand or leaves. Several friendly lifeguards on duty for the competition pool at any given time. Relatively inexpensive entry fee and easy to tap in or out. Convenient location.

Cons: Old, rundown facilities (peeling ceilings, cracked tiles, taped up pipes, dingy paint, etc.). Entitled and shameless elderly are generally left unchecked by lifeguards (start swimming in occupied lanes, swim diagonally across lanes, congregate at the lane ends to chat while blocking the wall, shower with door open and slowly dress fully naked in the middle of the room – pants last, etc.). Introduction to swimming lessons (e.g. simply learning to float on back) held unnecessarily in the competition pool instead of the teaching pool – crossing and blocking lap lanes.

Suggestions: Renovate facilities. Better enforcement of pool etiquette and division of teaching vs competition pool usage.

    Additional Notes:
The operating hours are listed as open until 9:30pm, but that’s only for the front gate. The pools are closed half an hour earlier, at 9pm.

Nice cozy place to swim and exercise. The toilets are super clean with mounted hair dryer.

Lockers are available outside the toilet for 20 cents per key insertion. So don’t forget to take out what you need.

Otherwise, it’s going to cost you 20 cents again. If it’s Category 1 for adverse weather, the sirens will sound.

Went with family including a 2 year old and an 8 year old. There was a large wading pool (0.2 metres) for toddlers and another 0.9 metre training pool for older children. There were friendly life guards on duty as well. The showers and change areas were clean.
Had a good time with family.
There are eating areas just opposite the road on Street 32.

Average pool compared with featured pool in better HDB area. In need of improvement in facilities. If you just need a swim for exercise without any special needs, it is a great place for families. Car park is quite hard to find on weekends and you need to pay during weekdays.

I go to this pool because it is near where I live and it is convenient for me. But I noticed that the lanes are pretty narrow and it can accommodate only a few people at one point in time if there is something which they have to improve it should be the toilets…. they are musty smelly and they are not in good condition …..especially for a place like Singapore and a major suburb like Ang Mo Kio the condition of the toilets in this swimming pool is not acceptable at all.

Pool is clean after maintenance day, otherwise smells a bit like urine. Other than that it’s quite quiet and enjoyable.

The place has been around for easily more than 30 years, I think. A bit rundown, obviously and the guy at the door is definitely not the example of friendliness but not imitating. Times to times, they will provide swimming pool toys for children.

There are 3 pools, baby pool, intermediate pool (1.2m) and standard swimming pool.
