A lot of hype but left disappointed. Chicken and Mutton was sold out and had to settle for the fish briyani which I felt was overpriced at $8. Had wanted to try their lamb shank briyani but decided to give it a miss as it was $18.

Biryani (SGD $9) @ Ali Nachia Briyani Dam.
    .
The famed briyani stall from the now-defunct Tanjong Pagar railway is still serving a beloved Singaporean Muslim version of the dish after more than 20 years.
    .
Helmed by cik Mohammed Ali (dad of footballer Rafi Ali), the basmati rice is cooked dum style, resulting in a fluffy loose texture with good aroma. The rice is mildly flavoured with grainy sweet spice notes, with the primary taste drawing from the meat and curry gravy instead.
    .
The mutton is soft and tender, coming apart easily, and the rich complex layer of spices lends bold punchy meaty spice savoury salty flavour. No gamey taste here.
    .
A duo of crunchy cucumbers accompany; the first in a thin yoghurt with milky sweet vegetal flavour; the second in a thin chili gravy with vegetal sweet spicy kick. And a bowl of that delicious curry gravy to complete.

The Quest for most awesome biryani is never ending. lamb shank biryani is their house special and for $20 is bit on the pricey side for a coffee shop stall however it’s sizeable and will easily content any local biryani lover. Flavour tilted towards Malay Wedding Biryani style, light rice with rich gravy infused meat. It’s a comfort biryani.

Literally fall off the bone tender. The meat was hands down one of the best I’ve had in my life. Rice was not too much also unlike typical briyani stalls tend to overload you with rice. Side of pickled cucumber and yogurt was good was well.

If you’re a fan of briyani dam, please skip this place & go for other briyani dam. As far as I thought that $9 briyani dam might be reasonable due to the location & meat portion factor, I’m sorry to burst your bubble but it’s not even worth my bucks.

I’d usually have subpar expectation on mutton briyani dam. Unfortunately, not for the case at Ali Nachia Briyani Dam. Mutton is tender but briyani rice is too salty. Yikes!

Customer service wise need to improve because this is vital. I don’t give two hoots either if you’re a national footballer or ordinary human. But if you’re not passionate enough to serve customer, sayonara liao

Definitely one of the top places on the island for Nasi Briyani, big ups to the family of retired national footballer Mr Rafi Ali’s family for serving up this delicious dish within the heart of the CBD. Loved their fish briyani that had Long grain rice, evenly cooked with the Dum masala, served alongside the achar and the Raita.

Do expect a bit of a wait when you’re here during the lunch hours, which is pretty much only when they are selling the briyani. The Teh Tarik served within the same coffee shop did add further justice to my briyani lunch.

As a pescatarian, my only complain about this place is that the fish briyani is only served on Fridays.

I would rate this as the best biryani in Singapore. My favourite is their mutton biryani. It has a large bone in tender piece of of mutton, cooked in a thick gravy. The helping is generous.
I also like the fish biryani that is available only on Fridays.
The mutton is usually sold out pretty soon after the shop opens.

Their mutton biryani is without a doubt one of the best Malay briyanis I have tried in Singapore. Meat falls off the bone, good portion of meat in a portion and the combination of meat gravy and gravy on the side makes for a great combination together with briyani rice. Been going here for a while and their quality remains the same and always warm service.

Honestly the shop is just hyped and not great at all. The taste is okay and somewhat close to authentic Indian. Rice quality is not fine as authentic basmati rice are. The total portion size (meat and rice) is ridiculously small. Okay for snacks, not as a meal. If you looking for good biryani please look elsewhere. $7 cannot get the best biryani

Another one of Singapore’s treasures! Great briyani always!! Originally from the now closed Tanjong Pagar Railway station.
The fish briyani only available on Fridays is highly recommended!

Read 8 Days, then came over to try. Good briyani. It’s not too oily, price is reasonable for the portion given and people very friendly. Thank you, will be back …

Professionals around Tanjong Pagar, rejoice! Tucked at a humble corner of Tanjong Pagar plaza, their Bryani is totally up tops. Fragrant soft rice that comes with a tender mutton slab. They’ve been around for a very long time so really, you don’t have to doubt their experience. Pay these old couple a visit during lunch hours and I’m very positive you will not be disappointed.

Rice not so fragrant but overall with dalcha & tender mutton saves it. You may give it a try but with the price range other places nicer~

Biryani rice with some kind of less spicy chicken gravy. Not a dum briyani I would eat again.

Had the mutton briyani. Rice is cooked just right and it tasted fabulous with the mutton gravy. Mutton is tender and melt in your mouth type. Portion of rice is huge but I could finish it all because of the great taste. This coffee shop is very popular and has a large crowd during lunch time. Best to be there before 11:30 am to avoid the crowd.
