A lot of hype but left disappointed. Chicken and Mutton was sold out and had to settle for the fish briyani which I felt was overpriced at $8. Had wanted to try their lamb shank briyani but decided to give it a miss as it was $18.

My go to place for superb mutton briyani!
Tried it for the first time and i would say excellent briyani, worth the walk from my office.

Nice place plus good food. Good briyani, have other malay food too
Nice food
Simply the best briyani in Singapore. Very affordable, large portions (you can ask for extra rice at no additional cost). Fluffy and very fragrant rice – probably the least oily briyani ever!
Excellent

Wonderful service. Friendly faces everywhere.
Everything goes above and beyond May their business blooms and overcame the tough period now. …
One of THE best biriyanis in Singapore. Simple and elegant, unlike the generally spicy and oily biriyanis.

Excellent chicken briyani!
A very tasty mutton briyani
Awesome Briyani, best that I ever had in Singapore.
Biryani (SGD $9) @ Ali Nachia Briyani Dam.
.
The famed briyani stall from the now-defunct Tanjong Pagar railway is still serving a beloved Singaporean Muslim version of the dish after more than 20 years.
.
Helmed by cik Mohammed Ali (dad of footballer Rafi Ali), the basmati rice is cooked dum style, resulting in a fluffy loose texture with good aroma. The rice is mildly flavoured with grainy sweet spice notes, with the primary taste drawing from the meat and curry gravy instead.
.
The mutton is soft and tender, coming apart easily, and the rich complex layer of spices lends bold punchy meaty spice savoury salty flavour. No gamey taste here.
.
A duo of crunchy cucumbers accompany; the first in a thin yoghurt with milky sweet vegetal flavour; the second in a thin chili gravy with vegetal sweet spicy kick. And a bowl of that delicious curry gravy to complete.
The best briyani in town be it mutton, chicken or lamb shank pre-order on Saturday only.
Delicious Briyani… Go early… If not finish Liao…
My 1st visit to this stall, their Lamb shank is worth it and it have a very authentic briyani aroma and the meat is soft. I will definitely visit again..And the boss is friendly. But the direction on the Google map is wrongly posted. Should be from Tanjong Pagar Stn exit from Exit A.
Food superb. …
The Quest for most awesome biryani is never ending. lamb shank biryani is their house special and for $20 is bit on the pricey side for a coffee shop stall however it’s sizeable and will easily content any local biryani lover. Flavour tilted towards Malay Wedding Biryani style, light rice with rich gravy infused meat. It’s a comfort biryani.
Amazing tender mutton and chicken briyani! Great service and smile from the bosses serving!!
One of the best in Singapore
Served by the legend himself. Has the homecooked biryani feel. Generous serving of rice and meat was cooked perfectly. Not too oily. Dalcha was flavourful and just the right texture.
Very good Nasi Briyani. It was located at the Old Railway Station in the past.
Nice Biryani.
Best kept secret in Tanjong Pagar!
Best nasi briyani in CBD area! The signboard claimed to be from previous Malaysia railway station at Tg Pagar. Today I tried the mutton briyani and will come back for the fish one.
Swing by and get some Biryani Dam from Singapore Soccer Legend from the Double Winning Dream Team of 1994. The biryani is so good, whenever I give my dad a choice between this or Nasi Padang, invariably, he’ll always choose this Biryani Dam.
Large portion of serving and where else can you be served by a retired football legend. Opens 11am to 3pm.
My go to place for the best briyani. Rich in flavour & generous servicing. Their beef & lambshank(only on Saturday) meat is so tender! Sells out pretty fast on weekday as it’s within CBD.

Top notch!
Amazing biryani. Rice was flavorful, and mutton was fall off the bone tender. Masala wasn’t overpowering as well. Perfectly balanced !
Too good! Friendly and homely feeling!
No crowd for weekend lunch.
Was told to wait for new batch of mutton.
Glad i waited, was served pippin hot mutton with aromatic rice, I’m not a big fan of briyani but it’s really delicious.
Spicy, tangy aromatic, definitely worth a try.
probably the best lkntong, nasi lemak in Singapore..
Very salty
Not easy to get seats during lunch period
Briyani here was really delicious! Price is also not too bad! I love how soft the chicken meat is!
One of the best Biriyanis in Singapore. Great taste and good quantity to feel full. The uncle and aunty in the shop are cheerful and always have a quick chat. Definitely worth a try, which will surely make you come back. Be sure to go early for lunch, coz it gets sold out soon by 12.45pm or so.
I love this Briyani so much because of the masala. Been eating it since it’s existence at Tanjong Pagar Railway Station. Aunty that always packet for me the briyani is heartwarming as I always request for more masala and she gives without hesitation and make sure I have enough rice. Thank you Uncle and Aunty for being so nice to your customers! P:S: Travelled half an hour from home just to packet this Briyani and back ️
Best mutton briyani ever! Meat falls off cleanly from the bone and it is ever so tender and juicy. Prepare for massive post-briyani food coma!!
Power – as good as the Tg Pagar KTM Railway days
Great stuff, always finish all the rice even when I normally find it hard to do so. The dudes at Ali Nachia are always very hospitable and cordial. They also have the best teh tarik. We visit once a week when we have classes nearby. Definitely miss this place.
Super friendly bosses! Amazing Briyani! Tried the Mutton & Chicken. Rice is fluffy, curry is flavourful, nice pickles to go along with it! Oh yea, the meat is melt in the mouth… Mmmmm…
Mutton Briyani is a must try.
One of the best briyani I have had! Meat is tender & rice is not oily, topped with curry as well!
Shop ambient not so great though, limited seat during peak hours too.
One of the Best Briyani in Singapore
I follow this shop since there were in Tanjong Pagar Plaza. The rice is nicely cooked with fragrance. Mutton is a must-try. Price is also reasonable.
Curry or was it Dalcha??
Mutton Briyani perfection for $8.
Literally fall off the bone tender. The meat was hands down one of the best I’ve had in my life. Rice was not too much also unlike typical briyani stalls tend to overload you with rice. Side of pickled cucumber and yogurt was good was well.
As a whole a very very good plate of Briyani. Fluffy basmati rice and a huge chunk of tender mutton meat. Will definitely be back for more
p.s. do check out my pics for my description!!
Food was excellent, the meat melts in your mouth and Rafi is awesome and friendly as always!

Friendly and best service.
run by the son of Singapore national footballer. The briyani is really very good, served with acar/chutney.
Great taste and flavourful
If you’re a fan of briyani dam, please skip this place & go for other briyani dam. As far as I thought that $9 briyani dam might be reasonable due to the location & meat portion factor, I’m sorry to burst your bubble but it’s not even worth my bucks.
I’d usually have subpar expectation on mutton briyani dam. Unfortunately, not for the case at Ali Nachia Briyani Dam. Mutton is tender but briyani rice is too salty. Yikes!
Customer service wise need to improve because this is vital. I don’t give two hoots either if you’re a national footballer or ordinary human. But if you’re not passionate enough to serve customer, sayonara liao
Bought 10 packets of mutton & chicken briyani.Yummy!
Mild flavoured fluffy rice with equally flavoured chicken and mutton pieces. loved it!
Fast delivery! My colleagues enjoyed it too
Best in railway best in tanjong pagar n some says best in Malaysia n batam
Tasty Biriyani
Not my type of briyani . Curry sourish . Mutton so tough .
Missed the Ali Nachia @ the Tg Pagar Railway Stn..
Definitely one of the top places on the island for Nasi Briyani, big ups to the family of retired national footballer Mr Rafi Ali’s family for serving up this delicious dish within the heart of the CBD. Loved their fish briyani that had Long grain rice, evenly cooked with the Dum masala, served alongside the achar and the Raita.
Do expect a bit of a wait when you’re here during the lunch hours, which is pretty much only when they are selling the briyani. The Teh Tarik served within the same coffee shop did add further justice to my briyani lunch.
As a pescatarian, my only complain about this place is that the fish briyani is only served on Fridays.
1st time try the mutton nasi biryani. Sooo sedap!! For sure will come back again. Rafi was there & his friendly dad too.
Former national footballer Rafi Ali’s nasi biryani stall. Tender and fragrant mutton with fluffy rice! Superb!
Another place for lamb shank briyani.must order 1st before you come!
Nice delicious briyani… I ate fish briyani.. the fish piece was big enough for 2… …
The place to go for the best dum briyani, be it mutton, chicken or fish. Rice and spices so good u can eat it without the dalchar. Meat is very tender too. The teh tarik also power. Keep up the excellent standard!
Top 3 favourite biryani in Singapore for me. Try the mutton biryani and they have fish on Fridays.
Fantastic briyani rice must try power
Chicken Briyani Dum is yummylicious
Chicken is moist,tender & shiok…
Rice is flagrant
Seatings are limited during lunch crowd…
Must try lamb briyani but expect to pay a little bit more…
Budget nice biryani
One of the best briyani around.
The meats are so tender and soft.
Mutton is not smelly at all.
Uncle always serves with a big smile and always chit chat.
Traditional
Good meal ! Owner, rafi has good attitude, funny guy. I will go back for the pre order lamb shank
The Perfect Nasi Briyani!! Tried both the chicken & the mutton, both equally good!! The rice is fluffy & light, the meat is really tender, the gravy is nt too light nor heavy. Its just a perfectly balanced plate of Nasi Briyani ️️ The only thing is that it starts at 11am and by 12nn, it might be sold out So come early!! …
Was brought here by a friend. Excellent briyani. Its a famous place. Come during off hours to get a seat! Very friendly people here.
Awesome.. Generous portion. Delicious mutton Biryani. Don’t underestimate the stall setup and location. The biryani taste damn nice. Will definitely go again.
Manage to try the dilicious fish berani only, the chicken and mutton finish and sold out.
the biryani is really good.
portions are big, taste is great and the lad serving is always nice.
Worth every dime… yummies and friendly staff.

Food was good. But long wait as the 2 people ahead had big orders to take away.
Nice briyani and teh tarik.
The mutton need to be a little more tender.
This biryani is really good! The harmony of basmati rice and crumbling mutton is irresistible
このビリヤニはマジ絶品!バスマティライスとほろほろとくずれるマトンの調和がたまらん
Rice fluffy and fragrance , meat flavourful and tender. Definitely one of the best briyani in town!
Alhamdulillah..nice bryani..last tried Ali’s bryani during my fren wedding..more than 10yrs ago..still nice s ever..weldone Ali..
I would rate this as the best biryani in Singapore. My favourite is their mutton biryani. It has a large bone in tender piece of of mutton, cooked in a thick gravy. The helping is generous.
I also like the fish biryani that is available only on Fridays.
The mutton is usually sold out pretty soon after the shop opens.
Updated July 2022: they are now at Kaki Bukit at a coffee shop that’s a couple of minutes walk from the MRT.
The picture is of their new board. I was looking for a green board and missed this new one
It’s lamb shank…omg… die die gotta try it …. chicken n mutton oso champion…
One of the best briyanis I have tasted here.. the mutton is nice and soft. The chicken is tender.. rice is nice and fluffy and not dry.. worth all the calories!
Nice nasi biryani from former footballer Rafi Ali.
Nice nasi briyani from former footballer Rafi Ali.
Power!
…
Good food must try
Very good mutton briyani, tender fall off the bone meat. But I still prefer the comforts of Islamic Restaurant.
The meat portion is amazing, briyani rice is good enough to eat it on its own.
No crowd for weekend lunch.
Was told to wait for new batch of mutton.
Glad i waited, was served pippin hot mutton with aromatic rice, I’m not a big fan of briyani but it’s really delicious.
Spicy, tangy aromatic, definitely worth a try.
A well known famous briyani during KTM Railways, @tanjong pagar was well known to local and briyani lovers,Food is great and reasonable priced.
Compared to KTM days, the taste of mutton brayani had dropped and curently abit on the salty side for me, not my liking. Nonetheless meat portion is still reasonable. However priced had gone up too. Also Parking is not convinient now.
Nice to see Rafi and gangs … Find my long lost kampung feel…cheers
Could be better.
One of best briyani dam. Fluffy and not so oily rice. Plus friendly staff.
Ok la better than nothing..
Tidak pernah disappointed… abam rafi nice guy pe! Food still remains the same but location too far la
Hands down the best beriyani in Singapore!
Mutton beriyani is tender and the rice serving can feed 2 small eaters.
I give 5 Star!!! Awesome
Best briyani I had this year. Hands down.
Their mutton biryani is without a doubt one of the best Malay briyanis I have tried in Singapore. Meat falls off the bone, good portion of meat in a portion and the combination of meat gravy and gravy on the side makes for a great combination together with briyani rice. Been going here for a while and their quality remains the same and always warm service.
Honestly the shop is just hyped and not great at all. The taste is okay and somewhat close to authentic Indian. Rice quality is not fine as authentic basmati rice are. The total portion size (meat and rice) is ridiculously small. Okay for snacks, not as a meal. If you looking for good biryani please look elsewhere. $7 cannot get the best biryani
Another one of Singapore’s treasures! Great briyani always!! Originally from the now closed Tanjong Pagar Railway station.
The fish briyani only available on Fridays is highly recommended!
Read 8 Days, then came over to try. Good briyani. It’s not too oily, price is reasonable for the portion given and people very friendly. Thank you, will be back …
The mutton is so tender
Professionals around Tanjong Pagar, rejoice! Tucked at a humble corner of Tanjong Pagar plaza, their Bryani is totally up tops. Fragrant soft rice that comes with a tender mutton slab. They’ve been around for a very long time so really, you don’t have to doubt their experience. Pay these old couple a visit during lunch hours and I’m very positive you will not be disappointed.
Rice not so fragrant but overall with dalcha & tender mutton saves it. You may give it a try but with the price range other places nicer~
Power
Biriyani not as expected.
Rice is dry..big portion of meat but not tendered..
Tried twice n same.
Friendly + good food
Biryani rice with some kind of less spicy chicken gravy. Not a dum briyani I would eat again.
Make sure come Early
You will enjoy the Place!
Had the mutton briyani. Rice is cooked just right and it tasted fabulous with the mutton gravy. Mutton is tender and melt in your mouth type. Portion of rice is huge but I could finish it all because of the great taste. This coffee shop is very popular and has a large crowd during lunch time. Best to be there before 11:30 am to avoid the crowd.
