My favorite place when I’m in the area. I found this place unexpectedly when I first took class in NUS. This was the only place open till late at night. Everything is good in here. I usually ordered Chicken Tikka, Butter Chicken with plain Naan. They are delicious! Their fried rice is good too. Try the ice kacang for dessert )

Going out to try this place for the first time. Our kids have eaten here when they were in school nearby but not us parents. It’s really delicious and authentic. Garlic naan with butter chicken, cauliflower, spinach, chicken tikka. I think the butter chicken got top score. Packed home to eat as eating places have safe distancing measures in phase 2 reopening after 2 months of circuit breaker.

We will come back again to try other items on the menu, including satay.

(The place was closed for renovation and recently reopened. We managed to try the Kadai prawns, fish tikka and satay on 18 Oct 2020)

This place normally remains crowded as it is near by NUS, North Indian food is a bit better in in terms of quality and taste compare to food courts. Menu is a bit varstyle too. This restaurant also remains open till late night. Their closing time is 3AM and they open again at 5:30 AM. All in all its a nice place specially for subcontinent friends.

Food is always great here. Fulfill all your cravings, of all things Indian, and then some. You can order pretty much anything on the menu, and you will find yourself craving for more. Make it a point to stop by, and if you can’t, you could always have your food delivered right to your doorstep. Always a pleasure to dine at Al Amaan. It does get crowded at times, so keep your cool with some icy cold drink or some good ole “Teh Halia” (ginger tea).

Good northern Indian breads and dips at reasonable prices.
Although near to a school, do not expect canteen prices. Coffee comes at a standard price of one dollar though, which is much welcomed for a public food outlet.

They take Nets and the service tends to be quick ‍️Also one of the only places that serves fresh coconut straight from the tree.

Nice place to get Briyani with yoghurt on the side. The place will be quite crowded during dinner time (e.g. 7-9 PM), and at this time it will be quite noisy.

There are a lot of Thai menu provided, other than the regular Indian/Muslim dishes. Most are large portions intended for sharing, but the some fried rice and briyani is good for yourself. The briyani has a lot of rice, so this is good when you’re really hungry.

Al Amaan’s restaurant specialises in a wide variety of Halal food. There are traditional Indian cuisine, Western cuisine and some Chinese style foods available. If you can think it up, you can probably find it here.

Variety isn’t the only thing that Al Amaan’s gets right. The food is delicious and cheap to boot. All prices on the menu are tax-inclusive and there is no service charge. Food arrives piping hot to the table in a matter of minutes, long waits be damned.

All in all, a highly recommended eatery to patronise. It is little wonder that the restaurant is often name dropped by hungry University students from the nearby National University of Singapore.

Popular dishes include butter chicken, palak paneer (cottage cheese in spinach sauce) and various naans. Prices are reasonable and the owner (at least I think it’s the owner) is friendly. I am not sure about the dine in experience here but I must say that their food quality via their delivery service has plummeted. I used to be a regular customer until they began to disappoint me. I ordered nasi goreng padrik thai several times and noticed that ther chicken had a terrible smell to it. To add on, the texture was really hard as rubber.

You can tell that the cook just took it out from the freezer and heated it up in a hurry. I suggest eating at the outlet itself for its obvious that they do not bother with the quality of their food when its meant for delivery. They know the most that a customer can do is to complain on the phone. Eat in or give this place a miss…..

Tried the Keema Naan, Tandoori Chicken and Butter Chicken, as well as Teh tarık. The Naan contained chewy bits of mutton which were great, especially if dipped in the butter chicken. The place is frequented by many NUS students as it is part of the famous NUS supper stretch, so expect a little bit of rowdy noise, but that just adds to the overall atmosphere.

I went here for lunch last week, and the food was great.

It used to be completely open air but now that it is in Air Con, you definitely won’t have to worry too much about the heat. Its not super strong wind but good enough to escape the typical Sg sweat generator humidity. It’s a simple place and it was crowded, figured since the food is legit.

Food wise, I ordered a Butter Chicken (m), Prawn Malasa and the Gobi Manchurian with 2x the Nan Set which included Plain, Garlic and Cheese . The Butter chicken was nicely seasoned and the balance between the spice and Butter is just right. Perfect to consume with the Nan. Likewise, the Gobi Manchurian might look to be red hot, but is actually milder than it looks. It can be a lil bit on the salty side initially but overall, it doesn’t strongly overpowers it. Lastly, the Prawn Masala, Man… I got dissapointed because they used to do it really spicy which is what I like. Perfect to make a person sweat but also doesn’t kill the taste buds. Now, it’s abit on the mild side and u can’t really taste the Prawn as well. Which is unfortunate as it was the dish I was looking forward to. It has been on my mind since I last ate it about 3 years ago.

Visited couple of days ago. Affordable Indian food. Had mutton biriyani and chicken tikka. What amazed me was the quantity of tikka available for 6 dollars – 6 pieces! It wasn’t very tasty though. Not tender like it should be. However, a good place to go to near NUS if you can’t travel to Little India

Great service, food comes quickly even when the restaraunt is busy and staff are very friendly. However, the food is very greasy and the toilets are extremely grubby. Definitely dodge the spins whatever you do – especially the orange and apple spin which were disgusting (neon green is not the most appetizing colour). Salt was a bit too much in dish and I have informed them about this, but not even any acknowledgement or response happened before I leave the shop. Food and Drinks selection are quite ok and nothing fancy. Price are slightly expensive and quality of the food can be slightly better. It’s a place that is quite popular with NUS students.

The picture is Beef Tom Yam Fried Rice that I tried and is popular with NUS student. That said, the quality and amount beef can be better. Taste is quite alright.

A friend bought Chicken Chop and Roti John. The Chicken chop and the mash potato looks dry, the Roti John was just bland. Making your own Roti John would be better and cost saving.
