Food taste remains the same standard as hotel grand pacific. The new environment in Sims was split into inside. We are seated inside level 1, the noise and movement was unbearable. Too much of commotion going on. Second, there was only 4 tables and 1 sharing wall mounted fan, happen 1 table asked the staff to lower the speed of the fan and did not consider asking the rest of the table guests. It was kinda of warm when she lower it. 10mins later 3rd table guest came in and was a group of 5 and commented it’s warm, then another staff adjusted the fan speed to the highest, much better with this speed as we can really feel the ventilation of air movement. Staff excellence attitude is very important, don’t just do things blindly bcos one table makes a complaint, they should also check with other guests in the room if it’s appropriate to do something that probably will affect the rest when the room and fan are sharing.

I found a dish here that exceeded my expectation, which I did not expect. It’s the Ee Fu Noodles. That was definitely the highlight of my meal.

The butter (lime?) sauce complimented the lobster really well, and the fish definitely was steamed to perfection. Seafood is a no brainer here. If you order off the menu it’ll just be mediocre and honestly, overpriced.

Visited on Friday night at 6pm. Crowd hits the restaurant at 7pm when the place starts to get full. If you’re craving perfectly done abalone and delicious traditional Chinese food, there’s no better place than Ah Yat. Delicacies like fish maw, sea cucumber, shark fins are made into mouthwatering perfect dishes here. I came here to fix my abalone craving and it hits the spot perfectly!

If you would like to pamper yourself and your loved ones to Chinese delicacies, this is the choice.

Only problem is when you visit in couple or solo very difficult to enjoy many food. Come in groups of 5-8, easier to order set packages to taste a variety of memorable dishes. We got the individual shark fin soup which is great (soup doesn’t taste like those starchy ones elsewhere). Their efu noodles may look dull but it’s absolutely delicious with wok-hey. The flavours tastes divine in the mouth. They have great chefs here. And the service is excellent!

Standard fare dim sum at 30% off which works out to be priced from $3.85 that’s quite ok. The food is not premium but decent enough for a satisfying meal. The most surprising dish was the “Steamed Ricesheet Roll w/Prawn” which turned out to be lightly fried & crispy inside instead of simply prawn filling and was nice. I would skip the bbq char siew bun and custard salted egg bun. Har gow skin not so good. Siew mai so so. Deep fried turnip cake was ok. The environment was rather dull but service was good.

The location may be a little out of the way but, but it’s worth it once you get a taste of the flavour in all the dishes. We started with deep fried fish skin, which was delivered warm from the wok and crispy without being oily. We then tried the garlic beef cubes, which had a lovely rich sauce that suited the tender texture of the soft meat. Even the Kang Kong, which you can find in many places made an impression on the taste buds, so you know the chefs got some ‘wok hay’ skills when you can taste the crunch of the veg and the chilli flavour isn’t over bearing. The best part was the E-fu, noodles which despite having many times at other places, still felt delicate in taste with subtle a light flavour to each bite. Overall the price is fair, the venue is spacious, but the decor of the place is a little bland, but the service is good and the food more than makes up for it. A good place if you just want guaranteed good Cantonese cuisine.

only thing is, I wanted to try the crab fried rice, but not able to upgrade the dish as it is a set.

    but would definitely go back.

Set Menu: The extra value and incredible deal set menus (Previously $39 & $48) were honestly quite a value for money. Believe the price went up by ~25% but quality is still there.

Ala carte seafood: Pretty wide selection of fresh seafood. Chili crabs not the best but pretty good

Dim Sum: Pretty wide variety, all pretty good.

We read the negative reviews and decided to go for a food trial before having our mother’s birthday celebration at At Yat Abalone. Fortunately, our fears were groundless.

The whole experience was excellent. The staff were attentive and the food pricing and quality were reasonable.

In particular, Meiling and William took note of our concerns and made sure our apprehensions were dismissed by their attentive service. The private room setting was also very pleasant and the karaoke was a hit.

Would recommend if you are planning a family full course dinner at a reasonable pricing.

Shifted from Grand Pacific Hotel in mid-Aug’20 as government expropriates the hotel for COVID19 quarantine purposes. One of the best Cantonese cuisines restaurant in Singpaore. Nice Cantonese HK styles dishes. Good valued abalones sets and live seafood menu. The new venue comes with multiple aquarium live seafood section incl empurau (wang bu liao) fish. Frdly staff & attentive services. Still my regular favorite eating place especially for gathering with family & frds.

In front of the store is a one-way straight road PlE, you need to turn right from Yalong Lane 3 and enter the multi-storey parking lot for parking. Shen’s Ave is a one-way street and cannot turn right into Lane 3.
Ah Yi is a time-honored seafood restaurant that provides mid-to-high-end ingredients, and the beauty of taste needs no special description. It is a restaurant that can be tasted completely.

This is a restaurant that specializes in Chinese cuisine, particularly abalone. The main focus : abalone is cooked in chicken broth til the texture is soft, chewy. Easy and nice to eat. But if one come for other sea catch, it may not be as impressive.

One of the eight course set dinner actually felt like local wedding dinner set, comes with great soup and abalone.

Food was average at best. But preferred the Ahyat at Grandstand. We ordered the set meal and noodles was really dry and blend. My bowl of noodles was literally plain noodles. Far from the best dinner I had.

Visited the outlet with a group of friends for lunch. We ordered set which costs almost $500 for 6 paxs. The variation is good, however we find the food standards are just average. The crab is quite small and pretty disappointing.

    Adeline the Vegan Chocolatier

The only vegan things on the menu are the vegetarian dumplings and the plain steamed ricesheet rolls. Nevertheless, I have to say that the food is fresh and well made. The radish cakes, dumpling wrappers, ricesheet rolls were melt in your mouth. Yam cake was very yammy and reminded me of yam basket and orh nee. My mom’s absolute favorite is the malaiko (steamed sponge cake) which according to her is an absolute must. Its softness and fluffiness is unprecedented, its not overly sweet, but had a very nice flavor from the brown sugar. I only wish there were more vegan items (like lotus pau) on the menu.

Free meal for me at Ah Yat….

First time to their new location.
Just beside the multiple storey carpark. So parking wasn’t a trouble.

Saw most of the staffs are still working in this outlet. Heard the boss closed down a lot of Ah Yat branches, in Genting, Indonesia etc.

Do take a look at the restaurant set meals.
Very value for money. Have abalone.
    Yummy.

    Food was still good
    Service was still tip top.
Forgotten to take the rest of dishes, was busy eating!

    Definitely recommended.
    A MUST Go!

If Hong Kong-style restaurants are used as the standard, I personally think that the price/performance ratio is super high, and swimming seafood is not an option. The staff are very friendly to everyone and provide comprehensive service. Highly recommended!

Spare ribs, har gao, siew Mai were above average and looked homemade and not those frozen ones. Seafood is still their siganture. Tho only tried the fresh oysters here. Overall decent restaurant!

If you love dim sum buffet a la card. This place is great, not the best one but good. Get your Fave voucher and enjoy the buffet the menu is quite simple but maybe it is the reason it is good. It is a very Cantonese place so bear in mind that you are not in European restaurant and you must understand and be considered with the staff. I like this place but without fave I think it is a bit expensive.

Surprisingly expensive despite affordability being a key selling point.

3 people total damage $158. Ordered fried fish skin, fried eggplant appetiser, cereal prawn, sambal kangkong, fish maw soup and hk style grouper. The fish, in particular, was only 700g and too little for three of us, but they charged $81.50 and discounted 50% as per advertised. So in the end, it’s not really that cheap either.

The price may be fair for a normal zichar restaurant but the taste is pretty standard type of tasty. Nothing is extraordinarily delicious or anything.

For the same price, there are other similar restaurants like Keng Eng Kee that you can have a more fulfilling and really yummy meal.
