Hong Kong has a lot of tourism and the rates have skyrocketed. Your hotel room is most likely going to be the most expensive rate you are going to occur other than your flight. $150 doesn’t get you very far in Hong Kong and the room will resemble that of a Super * in the U.S. Expect to pay a good chunk of cash for a nice hotel room. Most visitors stay in Tsim Sha Tsui on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong. This area has the largest concentration of hotels in the city. Those who book through a travel agent may not receive the best amenities as other guests. Families should be aware that some hotels allow a maximum of three people and will charge if an extra bed is required. Many hotels will also charge for use of the health club. Most all of the hotels have air conditioning and private bathrooms. Babysitting and same-day laundry services tend to be a universal service throughout Hong Kong.

Most of the hotels have also improved their in-room amenities. Most rooms now come with hairdryers, satellite or cable TV, Internet access, and in-house movies. Most hotels have no-smoking floors as well. Many of the hotels provide tourists with tour books or a tour desk to help you get around Hong Kong.
